Birmingham, AL. based Christ Health Center has been named as a partner in a $15.3 million redevelopment project of the Northeast YMCA. According to AL.com Christ Health Center will operate within an attached 7,000 sq. foot pediatric health clinic. Money contributions have been announced from the city of Birmingham ($1 million), as well as Jefferson County ($1.9 million). YMCA’s other partners include Habitat for Humanity, Christ Health Center, Impact Family Counseling, United Way of Central Alabama/Meals on Wheels, and Alabama First Class Pre-K and Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.
I was a patient & customer of Christ Health in 2019 and following my negative experiences, I urge all concerned on this project to reconsider allowing Christ Health's involvement (see below) and do some due dilligence on their organization before this project moves forward.
1 Year On: a letter I was told by their lawyer would be sent to me after a scheduled August, 2023 board meeting never arrived (August 2024, 1 year later). She refused to help me correct a laundry list of service and negligence issues in my visit. I also ask why a medical doctor I had no interaction with (Beverly VonDerpool) strangely signed off on my records days following my visit. This was AFTER I had informed their staff I was misdiagnosed by partners Ascension Saint Vincent's Birmingham, AL. for an injury that will takes hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to treat (broken skull / head trauma).
Lawyer Deborah Pickens told me in a recorded August, 2023 phone call Christ Health was not liable for negligence damages I incurred in botched visits with their MD and NP in 2019. She then invoked federal protections by the United States government (that apparently excuses their negligence) AND invited me to consult a lawyer myself. She tells me outright that because of their status, any claim I had against them would need to be made against the U.S. Federal Government. She does not possess a medical license to know if I received appropriate care or not but failed to name one of their practices many doctors or nurses who drew such a conclusion following an investigation she claims was made into my issues.
5 months after speaking to their CEO Dr. Robert Record MD (& 2 months following being connected lawyer Deborah Pickens I am still awaiting a letter containing the results of an August, 2023 board meeting regarding several outstanding issues that arose during my 2 visits with their NP & MD in 2019. A "He said she said" exchange of "who called who and when" consumed valuable time in both this call and the previous call with CEO Dr. Robert Record.
I had a broken skull injury I almost died from - 3 inch long insects & worms grew in the wound (SEE X-RAYS / MRI / CT IN VIDEOS).
