00:00Number one seed, you know, and the Super Bowl is going to have to go through.
00:04New England, they keep playing like that.
00:05The schedule is favorable to the Patriots.
00:09Drake May is playing like an MVP.
00:12He's spreading the ball around.
00:13I mean, offense is looking incredible.
00:15Defense is playing well.
00:17So they got to keep it up.
00:18But they got the schedule that says, you know what, I can get a bye week.
00:21And then once you get into the playoffs, as you know, Wiggy, anything can happen.
00:25And if you're hot, like the Patriots are right now, hey, man, watch out.
00:30Watch out.
00:31Ty, we talk about this every week.
00:33And, you know, there's not much that you can, you know, look at the Patriots and go, all right, complain about.
00:39But it seems like every week, and it doesn't seem like it's Christian Gonzalez that's the culprit of it.
00:45But it just seems like their past defense, man.
00:48I don't know what it is at times.
00:50I'm just like.
00:51I mean, they got the number one run defense in the league.
00:53Yeah, they got the number one run defense in the league.
00:54They don't let up a lot of points.
00:56But it seems like at times their past defense struggles, whether it's their pass rush or their man-to-man coverage or just blowing coverages.
01:05I said that the last two weeks, there's something missing in the secondary and on defense.
01:11And I can tell you, as a competitor, as a defensive back, you can't give up 100 yards receivers to any individual.
01:20You know, I don't give a damn who it is, especially when you got, you know, all pro, a top corner by the name of Christian Gonzalez out there on your defense.
01:28You know, I don't understand it.
01:29I mean, they gave up, what, how many 100-yard receivers, you know, this year in the past few weeks.
01:35So, I think if they get that together, and I think they just have to trust themselves, because I know they have the athletic ability to go out there.
01:42I can't put my finger on it either, other than you're not being, you're not competing on an individual basis.
01:48You're not getting up and challenging receivers at the line of scrimmage.
01:51I hate to see cornerbacks, especially when you want to come out there and get the real bag.
01:56You better go up there and get in somebody's face.
01:58You better challenge them.
02:00Stop playing off.
02:01Ty, you notice the thing I noticed, and you probably can see it better than I do, because even on Njigba's first touchdown, it looked like he was being covered by, or Marcus Jones was supposed to cover him.
02:11It seems like they don't match with Christian Gonzalez.
02:15Like, he doesn't follow around the best player.
02:18Is that something you notice?
02:20Yes, I've noticed that, too, and I don't understand why.
02:24Maybe because of the injury, he's still, you know, getting himself, you know, going again.
02:30I mean, I don't know, but why not have someone with that type of talent, and has all this upside, why not give him the responsibility of being the number one guy and coaching him as such?
02:43And when you've got a number one receiver over there, guess what?
02:46This is where you're going.
02:47I knew coming into every game where I was going.
02:50We played in Indianapolis.
02:52I already know I got Marvin Harrison.
02:54We go to New York.
02:55I already know I got Keyshawn.
02:57Whoever that top guy is, Dallas, Michael Irvin, that's what you have to do when you have a number one corner, and you're supposed to want to accept the challenge.
03:05I don't know if he's going up to Coach Rabel or not, but Christian Gonzalez, go to Mike Rabel's office.
03:12I'm talking from experience, just like Bill Belichick.
03:15I go to Bill Belichick's office.
03:16If he tried to put me on somebody else, I will go in there.
03:19No, we're not.
03:20I don't give a damn.
03:21He told me he did the Reggie Wayne thing before.
03:23Hey, we're going to put you on Reggie Wayne, and we're going to double Marvin.
03:25No, the hell we're not.
03:27I ain't covering no Reggie Wayne.
03:28What am I going to cover Reggie Wayne for?
03:30I want Marvin.
03:30I ain't scared of Marvin.
03:31So you have to have that type of attitude as a corner.
03:33You've got to want that challenge.
03:34So I think if he went up to Mike Rabel, and like I said, maybe he has a nagging injury or something, but I think he needs to take it upon himself, especially when you want to get that contract.
03:46You want to take it upon yourself to get that back.
03:48Take it upon yourself to go out there and earn it.
03:50Ty, Rabel, after the win, kept talking about how the guys earned being tired.
03:54They're all tired.
03:55That was kind of a major theme.
03:56They're also beat up.
03:57It's a short week.
03:58Is this game against the Jets set up to be a trap game of any sorts in your mind?
04:05Tired?
04:07That's what?
04:08You said tired?
04:09You can't be tired right now.
04:10And guess what?
04:11And if you tired everybody, it's mid-season going into the playoffs, so ain't nobody trying to hear none of that.
04:17Yeah, it's a short week, but you've got to find a way to win, and that's what great teams do.
04:20And I don't want to hear nothing about anybody who's tired, because all 32 teams in the league, even if you stink right now, they're going to say they're tired.
04:31So that's not an excuse, but you've got to go out there and play ball.
04:34A short week, guess what?
04:36You're playing against the Jets.
04:37The scheduling gods did you a favor.
04:39If you go out there, if you let the Jets be a trap game, that's that.
04:45I don't know what to say.
04:46I don't know what I'll be able to say next week if you lose this game.
04:49We expect you to win.
04:50We expect you to win convincingly.
04:52They let their top player go and go on to Indianapolis.
04:56That's going to be the challenge that I'm looking forward to seeing, because it's coming back to the old school.
05:01The Patriots versus Indianapolis.
05:03You know, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and all that, and everybody else in between, but these two quarterbacks right now are both playing MVP.
05:12You're talking about that running back that they got down there.
05:15He's MVP.
05:16Drake May is in the MVP conversation, so I don't even give him a damn about Buffalo right now.
05:22Yeah, Baltimore is coming back, but the Patriots are number one, and the Super Bowl is going through Foxboro.
05:28Wiggy gets offended when he hears it, but I'll ask you.
05:32There are comparisons being made between this team and the 2001 team.
05:40Any similarities from your perspective?
05:44I mean, it's a similarity to how they're playing, you know, team football, and I think that's a great reflection of Mike Rabel and the culture that he's creating around there now.
05:53So, I mean, there's similarities, but, I mean, we would whoop their ass right now at this point because we had more experience at the time, you know, and I think we're overall a better football team.
06:06You know, of course I'm going to go with the teams that we was on.
06:09We had, we won the championship, so you can compare that, you know, right now because we won a championship.
06:13But there are similarities, Greg, in how they play as a team.
06:17You never, you never know who's going to make the next play.
06:21You have a quarterback who has proven himself to be the real deal.
06:25I mean, the whole Tom Brady comparison right now, I think you can at such a young age, you can compare him to Tom Brady right now at this point in his career where Tom Brady was at.
06:36But it's hard for people to understand that.
06:38You can compare it.
06:40You can.
06:41Yes, you can compare it because where Tom Brady was at at this point in his career.
06:46You know what I mean?
06:47So, you know, it's just hard to fathom that somebody can be compared to Tom because of the totality of the career.
06:54He's the greatest of all time.
06:55So, we're not going to get too excited, but you can make those comparisons, how he's distributing the ball to everyone.
07:02You know, he's finding the open guy, making the right reads, man.
07:06So, I'm real excited for Drake May and his future.
07:10But to say, you know, Tom Brady in totality, hell, no, we ain't going to do that.
07:15We're not going to disrespect the GOAT.
07:17That is Ty's Drake take, and it is presented by your New England Chevy dealers.
07:22Together, let's drive.
07:24Ty, I love hearing your conversations in the past about just how different the culture was with the Jets.
07:31Was it something that you noted right away?
07:34I think you told the story of players planning their offseason in the tunnel heading into before a game started.
07:41Was it really that different playing in New York than it was playing here for the Patriots?
07:46Yeah, it was.
07:47It was very different.
07:48And me coming, you know, from the Patriots, you know, you got to get in where you fit in.
07:53This is, you know, Curtis Mark.
07:54I used to always talk to Curtis, like, yo, Curtis, what the hell is this?
07:58Curtis, that's just how they do.
07:59Curtis was not very, you know, vocal or controversial, but, you know, it was more like they was worried about the club in the tunnel coming out.
08:09I was like, who was talking about their car service and hurry up and take a shower so we can beat the traffic and all that shit before the game?
08:16You know what I mean?
08:16The game didn't even start, you know what I mean?
08:18So I didn't understand that.
08:20No, I thought I was in the Twilight Zone.
08:21And then, you know, the music.
08:23So, you know how it was where you have on your headphones and you listen to what you want to listen to.
08:29Man, we had 10 DJs in there in New York.
08:32Man, I was like, what the hell?
08:33I mean, you got this music over here.
08:35Everybody playing it loud.
08:37And I had, now I went over to Curtis.
08:39I said, Curtis, what the hell is this?
08:41You know, I'm an outsider.
08:43That was our locker room.
08:44We come in right now and we're like, hell no, we don't want to hear that.
08:48I don't want to hear what you're listening to over there.
08:50I don't want to hear what you're listening to.
08:51Everybody's fighting, you know, for the music instead of being into themselves and getting into that zone.
08:56So it was a totally different, you know, culture.
08:59It was looser.
09:00They let, you know, players and the locker room leaders let everybody be themselves that way.
09:05But it wasn't conducive to winning.
09:08You know, it wasn't a winning culture.
09:10And then coming from New England, like I said, we had more of a structure.
09:13And it made more sense.
09:15We did more winning.
09:16And I realized why, you know, when I went there.
09:19But, hey, who am I?
09:20I'm just a guy that's a free agent.
09:22Obviously, hell, I got cut.
09:23I got fired.
09:24So I had to go in and get where I get in.
09:25Get in where I fit in.

09:38Shime, Wiggy, Ty?
09:40It's easy for me.
09:41It's Travion Henderson's second touchdown.
09:44The toss when he's running.
09:45He's like, should I go in the end zone, coach?
09:47Like, for me, that was it.
09:48I thought that was it.
09:50Ty, you agree?
09:51Yeah, I agree, man.
09:53He had a hell of a game.
09:54Even though that's a Buckeye.
09:56But he's on the Patriots now.
09:58So all is forgiven.
09:59I think the Kyle Williams touchdown needs to be mentioned, too.
10:02Because, man, that boy was flying down the sideline.
10:06Yeah, what was that boy's 40-time?
10:08I was looking at that, too.
10:09I thought that was, I mean, you know how some of the TV or the film could just make you see it faster, Wiggy?
10:15I think he's like a 4-3 guy.
10:16I think he's a 4-flat.
10:174-4-flat?
10:184-4-flat?
10:19All right.
10:20I thought it was like a 4-3.
10:21Yeah, that's moving.
10:22Yeah, he got some game speed, didn't I tell you that.
10:25He was rolling.
10:26He got another gear.
10:27He got another gear.
10:28And I think, you know, Ty, it's just that you bring up the culture thing.
10:32Because I've been on teams like that where guys are just like, all right, man, I'm ready to get up out of here.
10:37My bags are packed.
10:38And I think a lot has to do with the head coach and the culture that you create.
10:43And I think Vrabel comes from the world that we come from where, you know, you're not in there blasting your music.
10:49You're kind of focused and everybody's doing their old thing.
10:52And that's why I really, like, I like this team because of what Vrabel brings to the table in that element.
11:01Vrabel?
11:01Right.
11:02And Vrabel is the MVP as far as coaching.
11:06He is coach of the year.
11:08And I can't see no other candidate out there right now besides Mike Vrabel.
11:13And hats off to Mr. Craft, too, because, I mean, you know, this man hired somebody, fired him in one year.
11:21Man, I think maybe that's why he a billionaire.
11:23He don't give a damn.
11:24I mean, I don't know.
11:25But, you know, he made the right choice.
11:28I don't like how it went down.
11:29Kind of like with last coach, you know, with Gerard, you know, with Mayo.
11:36I mean, it's like, you know, it's like, man, damn, give him a chance.
11:40But at the same time, man, you look at it now.
11:43He made a hell of a decision, you know, to bring Mike Vrabel back there.
11:47And look at the Patriots now.
11:48They're back on top.
11:49So, you know, kudos to Mr. Craft, you know, for making that tough decision.
11:54And that's why he is who he is, you know.
11:57Yeah, well, I mean, he had to admit that he was wrong.
12:01Like, he was out loudly proclaiming that he identified the next head coach five years ago.
12:10And so, you're right about that, Ty.
12:13Like, it takes a lot of guts to do that.
12:17And thank God he figured it out and figured out that Mike Vrabel is the right guy because the turnaround is huge.
12:28Yeah, because, you know, Gerard, I mean, to be honest, Gerard, he was one of Kraft's guys, you know what I mean, for a long time.
12:34Yeah, I know he had a lot of respect for Mayo, but sometimes, you know, being, you know, in a position, you know, of course, not on that level.
12:43But, you know, being an entrepreneur, having your own company, sometimes you have to look at things and say, you know what, it's a good person, but you're just not the right person for the job.
12:50And the hardest thing for me to ever have to do was have to let somebody.
