00:00Ty, what do you think it is with Vrabel?
00:02And I kind of asked him this question because you know how it was
00:05when we played with Bill, like you do that,
00:08you're going straight to the gulag in the hole.
00:11We might not see you for the rest of the season.
00:13But Mike has done a good job of giving guys a little bit longer leash.
00:18And I asked him, is that because he's a former player
00:21and he kind of understands the difficulty
00:24and what comes with playing the game?
00:26I think that yes.
00:31Yes, as a former player because you expect so much out of yourself
00:35and when you have a coach that hasn't played,
00:39because I've had to tell a coach, Bill, before,
00:42it's like, hey, have you ever covered Randy Moss?
00:45Do you know what you're asking?
00:46You know what I mean?
00:47You know, in certain situations, on this technique,
00:50so sometimes when you get a coach who's never played at this level,
00:54he is just a coach.
00:55I don't care what you've seen before,
00:57but Mike Rabel being a player, he knows what Ramondre might be feeling.
01:02So he's trying to give him, you know, another chance.
01:05You know what I mean?
01:05You've got to redeem yourself.
01:06But at the same time, you can't hurt the football team.
01:09So you have a player's coach who's been a player at that level.
01:13He's fought hard to get where he's at, you know,
01:15as a player and as a coach.
01:17So, yes, Ramondre, he better be happy that he doesn't have Bill Belichick,
01:22I tell you that,
01:23because he wouldn't be seeing the field like this
01:25and getting other opportunities.
01:27So I give all the credit to Mike Rabel for sticking with him
01:31and giving him the opportunity to try to get his confidence back.
01:34Ty, Mahomes and the Chiefs are two and three.
01:37Rough start to the season.
01:38Do you think that this is the year the end is coming
01:42for their brief little dynasty here?
01:44Absolutely.
01:47I don't think that – I mean, they're not looking good.
01:49Anything can change.
01:50Still early in the season, and we can't forget that that is Patrick Mahomes
01:54over there, and he shows some signs.
01:56He still got it.
01:58You know, I think, you know, Travis Kelsey,
02:01he's getting a little bit longer in the two, but he's still, you know,
02:03productive.
02:04But it just isn't the same spark that it used to be.
02:08Defensively, they're not as strong.
02:09So I think that they're on the downside.
02:13If they can pull it off, this will definitely be their last time.
02:17But I can't see the way they're playing right now
02:20and the teams that are getting better.
02:23I can't see anyone fear in Kansas City at this point.
02:27They struck fear in people before they stepped on the field.
02:30You can see that teams are not afraid of them anymore.
02:32They're not worried about the big names, the Kelseys, the Patrick Mahomes.
02:36They're not worried about that.
02:37So I think this is the end for the Kansas City Chiefs.
02:39We were talking earlier about A.J. Brown being unhappy in Philadelphia,
02:44and you're a guy who from time to time may have attempted a public negotiation,
02:54a renegotiation or two.
02:58Does bringing a guy to a team like this worry you at all,
03:04or do you feel like Wiggy was saying earlier, change the scenery,
03:08and guys are completely different, and Steph Diggs is an example of that?
03:14Absolutely.
03:15Bringing.
03:15If you can get A.J. Brown and pair him with Stephon Diggs, bring him.
03:20And then, you know, Brown knows what he's doing.
03:22He knows he just got that new contract, guaranteed a lot of money,
03:26and if you look at it, it's like, hey, every receiver wants to boss.
03:29He's not doing anything that no other receiver would do in the same position.
03:34You know, I mean, Keyshawn wrote a damn book about it.
03:36Come on, just throw me the damn ball.
03:38Now, that's going public.
03:39You know, he's trying to write a bestseller about it,
03:41but that's just a receiver position, and he wants to feel a part of the game.
03:45So if he's not, he's going to say something about it.
03:47Hell, he got enough, like I said, he got enough guaranteed contract
03:50that he can say what he wants to say, and they're just going to have to deal with it.
03:53Ty, you know, and I got one question for you guys, too,
03:57because, I mean, I just want to throw this out there.
04:00Who the hell is the guy that is in charge of the game clock?
04:06Because, you know, when they left one second on there,
04:09somebody need to call that out.
04:11You're going to tell me you're going to push the button right at one second
04:14to stop the clock instead of this.
04:16Now, nobody even missed that, and you gave an opportunity for us to score.
04:19So shout out to the guy in Buffalo who run the score clock, you know,
04:24and left one second on there.
04:26We appreciate you, man, whoever you are, man.
04:28From all Patriots fans everywhere, we appreciate you,
04:31but I know don't take your ass outside in Buffalo because that was just dumb.
04:36That Hunter Henry should have, like, that was on him, I thought,
04:39in that play where he waited to turn around.
04:42You had to know there was only four seconds because Drake threw it right away.
04:45Yeah.
04:45I mean, I agree.
04:46I was shocked there was still a second on the clock
04:48when they let them kick the field goal.
04:49But Hunter Henry played well.
04:50No matter what happened on that play, the guy who pushed the damn button.
04:57Right.
04:58Y'all, you didn't even have to push the button to say one second.
05:01Just let it go.
05:02You know what I mean?
05:03So I was like, yeah, thank you.
05:05Because I didn't understand that one.
05:07Time for the most entertaining play of the game,
05:11which is brought to you by Apex Entertainment.
05:14Visit 100,000 square feet of pure fun at Apex in Marlboro.
05:19What do we want to have in the running here?
05:23So I think Ty brought up earlier the Marcus Jones interception should be up there.
05:27I think that absolute laser beam to Stephon Diggs on the rollout.
05:31Yeah, on the sideline.
05:32Like the Steph Diggs rollout.
05:34That pass was – and he waited for him, and he was under pressure.
05:39That, to me, was the play of the game.
05:41But you're right about the interception.
05:43Absolutely.
05:43I agree with you on that one, Greg.
05:45And you can see that, like, the veteran, you know, player that he is.
05:49So you know what?
05:50Get open and get downfield.
05:52So, you know, and the way he – he kept his – he toe tapped a couple catches out there.
05:56Man, Stephon was on fire.
05:58I mean, 10 catches, man, hey, he's going to be great, you know, for Drake, man.
06:04He is going to be great for him to have that veteran there.
06:06So, again, Wiggy, if they get another wide receiver to pair with that, man, they –
06:13Patriots, man, we got a chance.
06:15Anything happening in the new season in the playoffs,
06:17you never know how deep they can go.
06:19Right.
06:19I want to –
06:20They're healthy.
06:21Since Wiggy – since Wiggy and Shime are – have already booked the duck boats,
06:26I just – I want to get you on record here.
06:28So, on October 7th or whatever it is today, do they win the division?
06:35Yes or no, Tyla?
06:38Yes.
06:39I'm going yes.
06:40I say they can – I say they can win the division because, I mean,
06:43let's think about it.
06:43The Jets, nothing.
06:45The only thing they have to worry about is Buffalo.
06:47So, now they, you know, they feel confident they can go out there and beat them.
06:52You know, and, of course, they're going to get better as well.
06:54I mean, who else – there's no one to worry about but Buffalo in the division.
06:58Yeah.
06:58The Jets think Miami stinks.
07:00Okay.
07:01And is Drake May the MVP?
07:03For the season?
07:07For the whole NFL?
07:08Yeah.
07:08That's what Shime said in his lead this morning.
07:10I said he can be.
07:11The way he's playing – and normally, especially recently, it just goes to the best quarterback
07:16on the best team.
07:17And your schedule stinks.
07:18If you win the most games and win your division, there's a chance he's – he is an MVP candidate.
07:23Well, yeah, I mean, I think he might be in the conversation.
07:28But, no, because even with a great performance like this, they're still going to look at the stats.
07:34You know, even with this great win, zero touchdowns.
07:39At the end of the day, they're going to look at those type of things too.
07:42And then when you have another team that's going to be in the playoffs and you look at Josh Allen
07:47and you look at some of the other quarterbacks, they're going to have the numbers as well.
07:51It's not just about wins and losses when it comes to quarterbacks.
07:54It's the numbers.
07:55And sometimes we get caught up into the stats.
07:57So I just don't know if his stats, you know, are going to be like if he doesn't score more touchdowns.
08:02You know what I mean?
08:02But I agree that he's going to be in the conversation.
08:05Last year, Lamar had way better stats than Josh Allen.
08:07Josh Allen was still your MVP because he had more wins.
08:13Look at how he was playing, though.
08:14Like I said, it's still – it's not all about stats.
08:17It's everything in totality.
08:19But you still got to have stats to back it up.
08:22I don't know how his stats are going to be at the end of the day because he spreads the ball around.
08:27But you still got to put touchdowns out there.
08:30You got to do that.
08:31You know, decrease interceptions.
08:33He doesn't have a lot of interceptions.
08:34But you have to have touchdowns.
08:35I would love to see him get MVP.
08:37I would absolutely love it.
08:39But I just think it's a little too soon to start talking MVP.
08:43I can say Pro Bowl.
08:45I'm very confident in saying that we have us a Pro Bowl quarterback in New England.
08:49And, you know, time is gone, so we have something to look forward to in the future.
08:53And we got our guy.
08:55That is this week's Drake Take from Ty Law, presented by your New England Chevy dealers.
09:00Together, let's drive.
09:03All right, Ty Law.
09:04Well, it's exciting.
09:05I mean, that is undeniably a big win.
09:09There continue to be the naysayers who tell me the Bills just blew this one.
09:16And everybody has an off week.
09:19And that's all it was.
09:20So we shouldn't get too excited about it.
09:23No.
09:23Well, we deserve to get excited around here.
09:27Like, I'm excited.
09:28Look, I'm on the West Coast.
09:29It's 530 in the morning out here, right?
09:31I'm excited.
09:32I'm ready to go work out or something.
09:34And the Patriots, hey, I'm looking forward to this.
09:36I can't wait to get back there to tailgate.
09:38It makes it more fun for everybody.
09:40I'm tired of talking about what they should have done, what they could have done,
09:44and reminiscing about the old days.
09:46Damn it, we can talk about the Patriots right now, Mike Vrabel.
09:51We got to give them their flowers.
09:52Now, we're going to bust them down if they don't play well,
09:55but we got to give them their flowers today.
09:58All right, Ty Law.
09:59It is always a pleasure.
10:00Great to hear your voice.
10:01We'll talk to you again next week.
10:03All right, guys.
10:04Later.
10:05Later.
10:05Later.
