00:00I saw it looked like you went ashore on your social media.
00:03Have you already visited one island or something?
00:07Yes, that was, uh, it's called, uh, that's the, uh, Royal Caribbean.
00:12And that's the Island that they own.
00:14And man, they put a lot of money into that thing, man.
00:17They got the water parks.
00:18They, you know, they got different beaches, the cabanas that it's a whole setup.
00:22So that's when, you know, you got you some money where you can buy your own Island and
00:26make it your own destination.
00:27So Royal Caribbean, they did, they did their thing.
00:30Have you been asked to sit at the captain's table yet at dinner?
00:33I mean, you are Ty Law pro hall of pro football hall of famer.
00:36I mean, uh, has that invitation come yet?
00:39Nope.
00:40No, I haven't because, but I can say this when I get off the phone with you guys right
00:45now, when we get off the show, I got to go take me a couple of laps.
00:49Cause they speed you, man.
00:50I'm going to be, uh, well, they got a gym there.
00:52All you got to do is hit the gym, brother.
00:54Yeah.
00:54Get on that treadmill.
00:55Yeah.
00:55Exactly.
00:56I'm like, yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm going to be looking like a tight end, man, but I
00:59definitely got to take advantage of that, man.
01:00But overall, overall it was a good time.
01:02So, so far so good.
01:04Well, I never want to jinx anything, but we were just talking about sad movies.
01:07Ever seen Titanic?
01:10Jeez.
01:10I know all about the Titanic.
01:17I've seen it.
01:18And believe me, when this thing gets to, you know, feel a little funny, that's the first
01:23thing that comes to my damn mind.
01:24But, you know, fortunately for me, I can swim and I hope my, I hope my family can swim
01:28cause God damn it.
01:29Every man for himself.
01:30You don't have to worry about icebergs out there in the middle of the, the beautiful
01:34Caribbean water.
01:35Just, uh, just do what, do what Billy Zane's character did.
01:39Grab a baby.
01:40Yeah.
01:40Right.
01:40You get on the boat first.
01:41Don't worry about it.
01:43Oh, Hey, I've already, you know how you do your rounds and you see those safety boats.
01:47I know exactly where to go.
01:49You know, I, I, I, I would figure they'd give us a tutorial and I said, I guess they ain't
01:54going to say nothing.
01:54So I figured I'm going to go do it my damn self.
01:56I'm going to go figure out what's the best route to get to these other boats.
01:59Cause I mean, you know, this is a little uncomfortable for me.
02:02I ain't been on one of these things like 15 years, man.
02:04You know what I mean?
02:05You're in the Caribbean though.
02:07So you need to worry about the tsunamis, the sharks.
02:09No, no.
02:10That's the thing.
02:10The tsunamis, when they hit you, it doesn't matter.
02:12You get a boat or whatever.
02:13You're, you're gone zone.
02:15I don't think that was happening in the Caribbean.
02:16I think those are warm weather places.
02:18You ever see Poseidon?
02:19It's not in the Caribbean, but that's what I mean.
02:21It's like, you know, it's a movie.
02:25Poseidon adventure.
02:26It's a remake.
02:27If it's called Poseidon, the Poseidon adventure.
02:29Okay.
02:29Maybe it is.
02:30It's with a famous, famous.
02:31Dennis Quaid, I believe.
02:33Also, Ty, if you go down, I don't know if you've been down, I don't know if you've
02:36been down to the kid's deck yet, but they're giving away the norovirus.
02:41That's terrible.
02:46Hey, I'll tell you what.
02:48Hey, I got, hey, I got my, uh, my Lysol and Thorox wipes on me.
02:52Everywhere I go, I ain't touching nothing.
02:55So I wipe it down.
02:56You know what I mean?
02:56I've seen the documentary and the poop cruises.
02:59Y'all messed me up before I got here.
03:01Y'all had me start looking up every damn thing.
03:03Ty, all I ask for you is next year when you negotiate with Len Caird that you demand to
03:10do it on a Caribbean cruise because he would lose his mind.
03:14The guy still wipes down his melons before they enter the kitchen.
03:18Oh, oh, that kid is one of those type of guys.
03:23Oh, yeah.
03:23The worst.
03:26All right, well, that's good to know.
03:28That's good to know.
03:29I'm like, I'll come in there real clean on the next, uh, negotiate when I shake his hand
03:33with some gloves on.
03:34Get this deal done.
03:35So, Ty, trade deadline day, 4 p.m. today.
03:41What, from your perspective, what are the needs of this New England Patriots football team?
03:46What would you do if you were Mike Vrabel, Elliott Wolfe?
03:51I would try to bring, you know what, they're doing good, you know, offensively.
03:55I wouldn't say a receiver, but I think that they need to get some more on defense, man.
04:01I mean, some more, another pass rusher.
04:04I can say that.
04:06They're not, I want to see better coverage.
04:09So, I would say a pass rusher or another DB.
04:13You know, I mean, I know he's back a couple weeks now.
04:15I mean, you can't let, well, it was Greg Lund.
04:18You can't do that, man.
04:19You can't let nobody come in there and beat up on you like that.
04:22So, I would say somebody on the defensive side of the ball.
04:25And, Ty, when you look at this football team, I'm on, I think I'm on the bandwagon of,
04:32like, this team can actually play and win a Super Bowl.
04:36Do you, do you believe that from watching this team and watching the rest of the NFL?
04:40Are they good enough?
04:42You know what?
04:43I think, I think they're on the bus, like I said, another player or two, a pass rusher or somebody that you can count on in the secondary.
04:54But when things like that happen, when you still win games, we've been there, Wiggy, where it's just meant to be.
05:01I'm not saying Super Bowl, but once you get in the playoffs, it's a whole new season.
05:06You have a chance.
05:06When they miss that field goal, and I'm like, you know what?
05:09These guys are destined to win because those are the things that happen to good football teams.
05:14And you win those type of games because, I mean, that's a chip shot.
05:18That's a field goal.
05:18We're going into overtime.
05:19We don't know what it is.
05:20It's a different conversation if they happen to lose the game.
05:22So, hey, the Patriots, they're on the right trajectory.
05:26I'll tell you that.
05:26Ty, for them to continue playing as well as they are, though, they need to stay healthy.
05:30And whether it's the injuries to Booty, to Christian Ellis, Christian Gonzalez, Ramondre Stevenson, all of those are an issue.
05:38But you also look at Drake May.
05:40He's been sacked 12 times over two games.
05:42When you were watching those, is that more of a Drake May problem or is that an O-line problem?
05:49Look, you don't ever blame the quarterback.
05:51I mean, when you can't blame the quarterback, he's running right into it.
05:54But that is the O-line problem.
05:55They've got to get it together.
05:57I mean, all they've got to do is call Skarniecki there for a couple weeks, man.
06:01Come up there and get him straight.
06:03You know, call Dante.
06:04He can get those boys straight.
06:05You know, and I think, I swear, if it gets bad, it keeps getting worse, Mike Rabel will do that.
06:12I guarantee you that he will call Dante Skarniecki to come in for, you know, a week or so to get those boys straight.
06:18But that's not a Drake May problem because he can adapt.
06:21You know, he can run.
06:22He can use his legs.
06:23He has great vision.
06:24He makes the right decision.
06:26So, you have to protect him.
06:27That's on the player.
06:29Ty, the trade deadline is today.
06:32If the team doesn't do anything, is there disappointment there from you as a fan if they don't add to a team that we all have high expectations for?
06:40But it depends on who you add.
06:44I always say, everybody talking about make this trade, make this trade.
06:47Is this going to be, is this trade going to help your team?
06:50Just because you make a trade, that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be a great fit.
06:54And when you have something going good, you want to add to that.
06:58You don't want to take away.
06:59So, it all depends on who they trade for and the player that's available.
07:04Sometimes, it's not a good player.
07:06It's not a good option available.
07:07You just don't take somebody just because they're available.
07:09I don't believe that.
07:10So, if it's a good player that can help your team and in a key position, you go ahead and try to make the deal.
07:17But if not, keep rolling what you're working with.
07:19So, if they don't do anything at the trade deadline, you think it's more about the people that are options aren't what Mike Rabel wants and not that they're not all in for this season?
07:30Exactly.
07:31It has to be the right player, you know, because right now, they have a chemistry there.
07:36We've been there.
07:37We've had chemistry.
07:38So, who are we going to bring into our locker room that's going to, you know, make us a better team and that's going to fit into the culture?
07:45If you've got a guy that can come in, we've been there, too.
07:47I ain't going to call out no names.
07:49But it's been culture killers that came into a locker room from somewhere else and didn't understand how we did it, which I'll call it a Patriot way.
07:56They didn't do it like that.
07:57And it was not a good move.
07:59So, I think that Mike Rabel, being that he was there as a player and on championship teams and knowing that we brought players in that didn't quite fit, you know, our system, he's going to be very cautious about who he brings in.
08:15Ty, when you start to think about, you know, the progression of Drake May and what he's been able to accomplish, I know there are a lot of people out there that say it.
08:27And I think he's he's number two when it comes to MVP odds.
08:33If he plays this way and let's say the Patriots end up with 11-12 wins, do you think he's the MVP of the season if he continues to play the way he's playing?
08:41I think he's going to be in the conversation.
08:45But I think, you know, as long as Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and some of the bigger names continue, you know, to play well, it's going to be hard for some people to look past that, those names, if they have similar stats.
08:59You know what I mean? It's one thing about the wins because Drake is still on the come up, but sometimes you get into the politics of it.
09:05If he has the same numbers as Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen, very similar, you know, similar records.
09:13Let's say if they're off a game or two, you know what I mean? He has more wins.
09:17Are you really going to put him over that? Because the story is going to switch to, you know what?
09:23Patrick Mahomes did it year in and year out, year Josh Allen, year in and year out.
09:27So I think they're going to get the nod and add aspect.
09:30So he has to do something totally like he has to blow us away, you know, and set himself apart from the rest of the pack for them to actually award him, you know, the MVP.
09:42But I mean, being in the conversation, Rick for a second year guy, just being in the conversation, you're in the room, but you're going to have to do more to actually get to award, in my opinion.
09:50Yeah, it's just incredible when you look at even when he has an off day, which he had on Sunday, he's still throwing over 200 yards.
10:00He's still got a quarterback rating over 100 and he's done it.
10:04He's in elite company.
10:05He's done it eight games in a row.
10:07And, you know, essentially it's Aaron Rodgers who did it twice.
10:14You know, who else is in that category, Sean?
10:16There's two other quarterbacks in there.
10:18Brady and Manning, I believe.
10:19Correct.
10:20And that's it.
10:20I mean, the guy is...
10:22Oh, he's spectacular.
10:23But I agree with Ty.
10:24It's going to come into that recency bias of Josh Allen.
10:28Right.
10:29It's the way it is.
10:30Like, and Ty's right.
10:31If the stats are similar and even if Drake has a little bit better stats, they're going
10:37to be, they're going to lean more towards Josh Allen than they are Drake May.
10:42It's just because of the, like Ty said, the politics that come into play.
