AFC is wide open! Patriots are in a great position, even if on the road to Denver. NFL HoF Ty Law joins! Law compares this team to Patriots teams of the past- Are Patriots most "complete" AFC team?
Transcript
00:00I mean, either one of the touchdown runs by Travion Henderson,
00:03the toss that he, you know, reverses the field and goes back
00:06or the counter early, I believe that was early third quarter
00:10where he goes for like 60 yards, either one of those plays.
00:12Great play call from Josh McKeown.
00:14Yeah, both of those, you can take either one of those
00:18and take them both, pack them together.
00:21Travion Henderson, man, I mean, he's the real deal.
00:23I mean, does he, he got damn near 1,000 yards now, don't he?
00:27He's at 779, I believe is the number.
00:30So he needs just over 200 in three games.
00:33He'll probably get, he got another gear.
00:35But Ty, I would say this because you made a good point
00:38and that was kind of my lead this morning,
00:40is when you look at the AFC, it is wide open
00:44because you don't have those quarter,
00:45the one quarterback that you have is Josh Allen,
00:49but the rest of the team around them is not great
00:52and he has to play like Superman where he has to like go out there
00:56and have, you know, two rushing touchdowns, three passing touchdowns.
01:00And that's why I said the Patriots in a great position,
01:03even if they got to go on the road in the AFC championship game to Denver,
01:07I still believe that they have the best complete team
01:12and this road is perfect for them to get to a Super Bowl.
01:16Yeah.
01:16I mean, it is perfect.
01:18I agree with you 100%.
01:19You know, I know Denver, I mean, they're playing some good ball,
01:24but I see a little, you know, kinks in the armor there too.
01:27You know what I mean?
01:28I'm not totally sold, you know, on those guys either.
01:32So it's wide open.
01:33Anytime you get a new season, which is the playoffs,
01:37and you have Lamar Jackson who's been there, done it.
01:40He didn't win it, but the MVP, you have Josh Allen, you have Joe Burrow,
01:45you have Patrick Mahomes who's been to, what, nine of them,
01:48nine, ten of them already.
01:50It's like, hey, two of those guys are not there.
01:54I mean, what are they going to do up there with the new coach in San Diego
01:58with Herbert?
01:59You know, they're playing okay, but who's playing better ball than New England?
02:04Yes, they had a hiccup, you know,
02:06but who's playing better team ball, finding different ways to win in New England?
02:10That's what playoff football is all about.
02:13So, again, you know, I'm still on the Patriots bandwagon.
02:16Hey, hats off to Josh Allen, and he's the best of the best right now.
02:21You know, you got to take your hat off to him.
02:23But I believe in New England, if they had to play those guys again,
02:27similar to how we had to play Miami, you know, Wiggy back in the day.
02:31I don't know if you was there or not, but we played them three times in the season,
02:36and we beat them when it counted.
02:38Now, a 413 texter says that both of you guys are biased because of your New
02:46England Patriots love and that the defense is not good enough.
02:52No, you know what?
02:54And, well, yes, you're going to be biased to a certain extent, but, you know,
02:59I think I'm one that come out there and tell the truth.
03:03Remember, guys, I got fired.
03:05You take that one back to him and say, hey, you got the wrong one.
03:09But, anyway, yes, I just believe in the Patriots because if I didn't believe in
03:12the Patriots, I will say it, and I wouldn't say it proudly,
03:16but I will have to say it because you have to be, you know, real with yourself,
03:20real with our listeners, and that's just the way it is.
03:23But I really believe that this is a good football team,
03:25and it reminds me of some of the teams in the past by the way they're winning
03:30football games.
03:31It's not just Drake May.
03:33It's not just Traviar Henderson.
03:35Somebody else is making a big play all the time,
03:38and that's a recipe for a good football team and a good run, you know,
03:42because you're not just depending, you know, on the so-called name guys.
03:46Hey, Ty, I'm just curious,
03:48do you have any interest in a vacant coaching job at the University of Michigan?
03:51Hey, hey, I love my Michigan, but, boy, we've been having a hard time of the late.
04:03Oh, man, but, hey, you know, he, hey, man, he dead-ass wrong.
04:08He dead-ass wrong for that one right there, you know what I mean?
04:11And I just don't know.
04:13I like, you going to mess up the back?
04:15Man.
04:16You know you can't do that.
04:17I mean, you work with them, you know.
04:20I mean, I've been there at companies, and if you're the boss, you cannot do that.
04:25If you are the boss of a company and you're the face of a brand, you cannot do that.
04:31I don't give a damn how good you think she looked, man.
04:33That's just wrong.
04:34You can't do it.
04:35Hard time might not be the best way to describe it in his case.
04:40Stick to the OnlyFans models.
04:42Don't go into their school and somebody who works with you, hey, listen, you shouldn't
04:48do it anyways, but if you're going to go down that road, stay with the OnlyFans models.
04:52At least they're just going to want money from you.
04:54You're over there.
04:55I mean, you're going to mess up your career and that and, like, all those things.
05:00And the funny part that I'm out of the loop, so I got to call my son because he goes to
05:05the University of Michigan.
05:06Hey, Todd, what's going on?
05:08Yeah, I worked with her in the recruiting department.
