Transcript
00:00I've been giving down here with my mom.
00:03She can't fly.
00:04Normally she comes up, but the doctors don't want her to fly for medical reasons.
00:08So I said, I got to come to my mom.
00:09You know, I'm the only child.
00:10I ain't got no brothers and sisters, and you only get one mama.
00:13So, damn it, I'm coming to mama.
00:15You're a good son, Ty.
00:16Enjoy.
00:17Where are you on the green bean casserole?
00:21Is that a staple on the log?
00:24I don't know the directions.
00:26I do not know the directions.
00:28I don't know nothing about it.
00:29I think it's like messing up the whole Thanksgiving.
00:33Yeah, it messes up Thanksgiving.
00:35Green bean casserole should be, you know, canceled from Thanksgiving.
00:39I don't give a damn.
00:40That's not good.
00:42More like green bean casserole.
00:45Kurt, that was good.
00:47Kurt, that was good.
00:49I agree.
00:51You're like, that's exactly what that is.
00:54All right.
00:54Made Tyla laugh.
00:55That's right.
00:56Are you a sweet potatoes guy?
01:00A yam guy or whatever?
01:02I'm a yam.
01:03I'm a yam guy.
01:05You got to have the yam.
01:07You got to have the dressing.
01:09Not no damn stove stop stuffing.
01:12You know, not that.
01:13Some real dressing.
01:14Some real dressing.
01:15You put it in the oven.
01:16You know what I mean?
01:16I mean, that stove stop.
01:18That's a cheap way out, man.
01:20So when you go Thanksgiving, you got to go all out.
01:22You got to have the cranberry sauce.
01:24I'm not a big turkey guy, but I eat turkey just for Thanksgiving.
01:28Got to have that ham.
01:29Yeah.
01:30For those that don't like swine to hell with y'all.
01:34Right.
01:34It's a good ass ham sandwich afterwards.
01:36You know what I mean?
01:37It's the best.
01:37Brown sugar ham with the pineapples on it.
01:41What?
01:42Man.
01:43And grill the pineapples too.
01:45Yes.
01:45Grill pineapple on there.
01:47Ooh, mix that with a little Corvus, right?
01:50I'm telling you, they don't know about the ham, man.
01:52I'm telling you, nice ham.
01:54Right.
01:54Well, Courtney's family knows about the pineapples.
01:56Yes.
01:57All right.
01:58Well, listen, Ty, this Patriots team becomes the first in the league
02:04to get to double-digit wins, and they are on a roll here.
02:09I bet they play a great overall as a team.
02:14Now, this was a little bit of a down game.
02:16They kind of played down to the competition.
02:17I was expecting a little bit more of them, but you have those games.
02:21But the important thing is they find a way to win no matter what.
02:24So that's a good thing.
02:25We've been in those situations, as you know, where we didn't exactly play
02:29our best version of ourselves, but we still found a way to win.
02:33And I see the same thing in this team right now.
02:35No matter what, they find a way to win even when it's ugly.
02:39Ty, the whole team kind of started slow, but especially the defense.
02:42They were able to rebound.
02:43How do you think they did?
02:46They did okay, but I'd like to see them get more pressure
02:49when they're not actually calling a blitz.
02:51I think the guys up front need to get more pressure
02:54when you're doing a three- and four-man rush.
02:57But, again, they won the football game.
02:59Against a better team, you might have some trouble.
03:02I mean, they had a lot of big running plays as well.
03:05So defensively, up front, got to do a little bit better.
03:09In the back end, you can always do better in coverage, again,
03:12but those guys up front, that's where it starts at.
03:15You got to win the one-on-one battles.
03:17Ty, isn't it the sign of a good team when you have those ugly wins
03:22or you win games that, like your blowouts,
03:25like where you're really able to win in a number of different ways,
03:29but especially an ugly win, isn't that a sign of a good football team?
03:33Absolutely.
03:35We've been through so many of those where it's like we're coming in,
03:39we're confident, and you just don't play,
03:41but it's always the other guy that's making a play.
03:44And that's what I love about this team.
03:46You never know who's going to come with the big play.
03:49It can be Diggs.
03:50It can be Hunter Henry.
03:53It can be Booty.
03:54It can be, you know, Demario Davis.
03:56Of course, you got Drake May.
03:57I love the fact that they spread the ball around and find ways to win.
04:02And like I said, you never know who's going to make the next big play,
04:05and it's similar to our teams.
04:07We competed amongst each other, and whoever makes the play, we're all happy,
04:11but we all wanted to make that play.
04:13You never knew where it was coming from.
04:14So the Super Bowl is going through New England, period.
04:20Is it at all of a concern to you?
04:23You talk about coverage,
04:25and Christian Gonzalez ends up giving up that touchdown to their number four.
04:32Wide receiver.
04:34Is that something that you are concerned about?
04:38I mean, I was expecting a little more out of Christian Gonzalez,
04:42but at the same time, those guys get paid, too.
04:44I mean, you're going to give up some every now and again.
04:47I think, you know, when it comes to the playoffs, when the game is on the line,
04:50we're going to be able to count on Christian Gonzalez and the secondary,
04:54especially him being the number one guy.
04:55But, yeah, from a competitive standpoint and a cornerback standpoint,
05:00you look over there at the guy, you see the fourth wide receiver,
05:03you be like, oh, hell no.
05:04Y'all not even going to throw the ball over here.
05:06That's how I looked at it anyway.
05:07I was like, if you throw the ball over here, and they completed, shame on me.
05:12But you should have, being that you are Christian Gonzalez,
05:15they got the number four wide receiver on you.
05:18You can't let him catch the ball, let alone the touchdown.
05:21If he catches the ball, that's one thing, but you can't let him get a touchdown.
05:25So, I know he's going to have his head on the swivel the next time.
05:28And, you know, once you get that respect as a defensive back,
05:32you know in certain situations, in certain players,
05:35the ball shouldn't be coming your way.
05:38That is, dump out.
05:39I knew I was going to get you, shame, before the holidays.
05:42Dump out number one.
05:43That's $100 for the Greg Hill Foundation when it comes to the square jar.
05:46Ty, I would love to ask you about not the Patriots,
05:49but what Saturday means for you.
05:52Best rivalry, I think, in college football, Ohio State, Michigan.
05:54When you were at Michigan, what is that game like?
05:57Are you going back this weekend?
05:59No, I'm not.
06:00I was thinking about it.
06:01I'm on the fence right now.
06:02I got my tickets, and I'm sending my daughter.
06:05I'm going up there with my son.
06:06This is last year, so I'm probably going to go up to the game.
06:09But it means everything here.
06:11It's crazy how even the coach's jobs be on the line.
06:15You can have a bad season, but if you beat Ohio State,
06:20you'll watch yourself another year.
06:23That's how it is at Michigan.
06:24The same thing, you can have great games,
06:26and you keep losing to Michigan and Ohio State,
06:28that was about to fire him because he ain't beating Michigan,
06:31but win every other game.
06:33So, I mean, the atmosphere is electric.
06:35Of course, when you go, you know, to their sorry-ass stadium,
06:39you know, it's still an electric atmosphere
06:41because we have so many Michigan people there,
06:43but it means everything, and the whole campus comes out.
06:47It's going to be cold as hell, but you will never know.
06:50People are going to be out there damn near butt-naked.
06:52For real.
06:53If you want to.
06:54Just to get ready for this game.
06:56So, I mean, it's the biggest game of the year, you know,
06:59as far as the Big Ten and the greatest rivalry of all college football.
07:02If you want Michigan to have a chance in the college football playoffs,
07:06they're going to have to beat Ohio State
07:07because I think the winner of the Ohio State, like Curtis said,
07:10will get in with one loss,
07:12but I think Michigan, if they can beat Ohio State,
07:15they can make a case for themselves
07:16to maybe get into this college football playoffs.
07:20I'm still trying to figure this whole college football playoff.
07:23How many teams going right now, man?
07:25They keep changing up every year.
07:27Twelve go.
07:28Twelve go right now.
07:29Wiggy wants 24.
07:31He wants UMass.
07:32No, no, I would like,
07:35I mean, 24 is what you see at the FCS level.
07:37I know you want 24.
07:39And they do a good job, but I would like at least 16.
07:4316 would be good.
07:45I know some people don't like it,
07:46but I think there are going to be teams like a Michigan.
07:49Let's say.
07:50But nobody would confuse Michigan for a team that can actually win the national championship.
07:53Right, but let's say Michigan beats Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game.
08:00I believe Michigan has two losses, correct, Ty?
08:04Michigan has two.
08:05But they can't play Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game.
08:08They're in the same part of the Big Ten.
08:09No, no, but now, remember this year, it's all new.
08:12It's just the top two teams.
08:13Sorry.
08:13So, let's...
08:14Right, no, if you go in there and beat Ohio State,
08:17that's going to be huge,
08:18and you're going to be making a huge case for yourself
08:20to at least be able to get into the playoffs.
08:22Right, but you still might miss out on it
08:25because of just some other teams and the strength of schedule.
08:29That's why I'm saying if you had 16,
08:31a team like Michigan would be able to get in,
08:35but they might miss out because of the two losses
08:37and the two losses that their opponents that they lost to.
08:42So, that's why I like...
08:43Exactly.
08:44That's why...
08:44I mean, Ohio State, they're coming in.
08:46They're going regardless.
08:48You know what I mean?
08:48They're going to be able to get in,
08:50and they earn that right as much as I hate to say it,
08:53but the one that I'm surprised about,
08:55Wiggy, in the Big Ten is Indiana.
08:57Indiana never wins.
08:58Right.
08:59They're never in the mix.
09:00So, I mean, they're playing some damn good football
09:02right now down there in Indiana,
09:04but Michigan, again,
09:06our goal is to go out there and beat Ohio State
09:08so if we can make it hard on them
09:09and make them lose their last game at the end of the season...
09:15Oh, man.
09:22We've got to go out there and come up with a big win
09:24because no one is expecting, you know,
09:26Michigan to do anything this year with Ohio State.
09:28We just lost you for a minute,
09:31and you're in Florida.
09:32I'm always worried about the gators.
09:36Like, you're okay, right?
09:38Oh, yeah.
09:39I'm cool.
09:39I'm on the streets.
09:40I don't...
09:41And I don't even walk by the ponds around here, guys.
09:43I'm not...
09:44I really don't.
09:45And they found a couple in my community here.
09:47So, again, they find their way in anywhere where there's water.
09:51So, when you come down to Florida...
09:52Yeah.
09:53And they're like, there's no gators here.
09:55There's nothing.
09:56Bullshit.
09:57Don't go over there by the water.
09:58Don't take your pet over there.
10:00I got my little...
10:01I got my little Yorkie.
10:02Okay, go by the water.
10:03Damn it.
10:04Every man for himself, an alligator come.
10:06Wait a second.
10:07Wait a second.
10:08Come on, Max.
10:08You better start to run it, because I was running.
10:10Daddy running.
10:11We have...
10:12We've never talked about this.
10:14You have a Yorkie?
10:15I knew I loved Ty.
10:16Yeah, you got a Yorkie.
10:17Yeah.
10:17What you...
10:18You expected me to have a pit bull or something, didn't you?
10:19Yeah.
10:20Because I'm a dog.
10:21Yeah, you did.
10:21Because I'm a dog.
10:23Yorkies are the best, Ty.
10:24No, Dad, I got me a Yorkie.
10:25No.
10:26What's the dog's name?
10:29Max.
10:30Max the Yorkie.
10:31Yorkie.
10:32How old is Max?
10:33You know what?
10:33Hey, you know what?
10:34Next time, I'm going to bring him to the studio with me, because I brought him down here for
10:37my mom, because she was a little lonely.
10:39She said, bring the dog.
10:41But it became...
10:42I got him five years ago for the kids, because I wasn't doing no big dog.
10:46I wasn't doing no big turds and all that.
10:48You know?
10:48So we ain't doing all that.
10:49But it ended up being my dog.
10:52Like, yeah.
10:53That was not my plan.
10:55But I ain't going to lie.
10:56He's part of the family now.
10:58I got a dog and a bird.
11:02Ain't that something?
11:03Like a parrot?
11:04The one that talks?
11:06Yeah.
11:06I mean, yeah.
11:07Tupac.
11:07I mean, Tupac.
11:08Yeah.
11:08Tupac is...
11:09He's older than...
11:10He's 28 years old.
11:11He's older than my kids.
11:12What?
11:12Wow.
11:13Yeah.
11:14Your bird is 28?
11:16And named Tupac.
11:17Yeah.
11:17And named Tupac.
11:18Yep.
11:20Tupac.
11:20Yep.
11:21He's 28 years old.
11:22Like I said, my daughter is 25.
11:24So again, when we're talking about...
11:26So then we talk about the corvus.
11:27I'm a bird guy.
11:28That's why.
11:29Yeah.
11:30I've been a bird guy.
11:31Well, if you want Tupac the bird to be around for another 28 years, keep him away from Diddy
11:38when he gets out of jail, if you know what I'm saying.
11:40Hey, I'll tell you what.
11:44I got you.
11:45These birds probably going to outlive me.
11:46They live till they're 70, 75 years old.
11:49So, you know, yeah, you got to put them in your wheel and everything.
11:53Yeah.
11:53You know the wild thing, Ty, is Tupac would be the oldest bird in Greg's apartment.
11:57Does it just say Westside every time you come in the house?
12:02Like Westside?
12:10Yeah.
12:40Yeah.
13:10Yeah.
