01:42Remember, you deserve the best.
01:44Choose Omega XL.
01:49Many women ask themselves, is this normal?
01:52If you feel you're constantly working on eggshells,
01:55if jealousy is disguised as love,
01:57or if you're made to feel you're always the problem,
02:00these are signs of an unhealthy relationship.
02:04Trust your instincts.
02:05You deserve to feel safe, respected, and valued in your own home.
02:10Welcome to Beyond the Tape. I'm your host, Mark Basant.
02:13Welcome to our viewers across Trinidad and Tobago.
02:17Of course, our international viewers and our brothers and sisters in the eyes of Grenada.
02:25I certainly hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend.
02:41It was Diwali. I know a lot of people would have enjoyed some sumptuous food.
02:45But of course, not forgetting the importance of Diwali for the Hindu community.
02:50And across the world, of course.
02:52So I hope you all had a good one.
02:54And of course, no stranger to us today is none other than Corporal Derek Shabody,
03:00manager and co-founder of the St. James Police Youth Club.
03:04Welcome, sir.
03:05You look well-rested.
03:07You look well-rested.
03:08You look well-rested.
03:09And certainly, I too want to commend Trinidad and Tobago for a good weekend.
03:15We didn't have much fatalities.
03:18I think it's a good set.
03:19And in keeping what you said, you know,
03:22the light and the importance of letting your light shine is an important time.
03:27Yes.
03:28I do my darkness.
03:29Yes.
03:30Yes.
03:31Yes.
03:32And we want to commend all those who support the policy club in its part, too,
03:34in terms of educating young people the importance of light.
03:38And, you know, we are a cosmopolitan country, plural society.
03:42And we should feel honored that Hindus, Catholic, Christians, you know, Baptists,
03:48everybody can live peacefully.
03:50That's big volumes.
03:51And we should continue to nurture that.
03:53And we want to salute the Hindu community for really embracing
03:56and ensuring that our light continue to shine in spite of what we're seeing,
04:00that God is still in charge.
04:02And each individual has a part to pay as we continue to promote the light
04:07and the goodness and the wonderful things that we have done
04:10to ensure this country move on from strength to strength.
04:13Yes, certainly.
04:14You know, we are multicultural, multireligious, you know, multifaceted even.
04:18So, of course, you know, we always enjoy these religious holidays.
04:24You know, they are meaning for various religious sects.
04:27But, of course, you know, Trinidadians also see it as a place where, you know,
04:31you enjoy the many foods that we have.
04:34Oh, yes.
04:35Oh, yes.
04:36You know, you have the roti and so on.
04:38Oh, yes.
04:39You visit your Hindu brothers.
04:41Yes.
04:42And you partake in the sweets as well as the food that they offer as well.
04:48Thank you, man.
04:49You know, I want to salute the police.
04:51I see the police was doing a very innovative roadblock.
04:54Instead of giving tickets, they gave out, you know.
04:56They gave out sweets for the while.
04:58Yes.
04:59And then you had Central Police Station, not too far on Edwards Street,
05:03you know, lead in the front of the station.
05:05All that is a good expression of we continue to show light over darkness.
05:10So, I want to applaud all officers, Divisional Head, for the innovative approach
05:14in terms of ensuring that this country is a beautiful country.
05:19And we, you know, there's too much at stake.
05:21Yeah.
05:22And we have to continue to put in a good fight.
05:23And collectively, we will do justice.
05:26There was also police officers lighting up the avenue yesterday evening, apparently.
05:31Okay.
05:32Where they were the police officers along the pavement in certain areas.
05:37And I passed there, and I actually saw a picture of the officers on another newspaper this morning.
05:44You know, so it speaks to that, you know, that kind of unity and respecting religious beliefs of others.
05:51Even though you might not be a Hindu, I remember my grandmother celebrated everything under the sun for us.
05:57From Diwali to, on my mother's side, to Eid, Christmas, etc.
06:02Oh, yes.
06:03So, because we live, as you said, in a multi-religious country.
06:06And the more you are educated, the more you are informed of the different religious groups,
06:11you learn to appreciate and embrace, and by extension, know that this is what makes up Trinidad and Tebevo, this beautiful country.
06:20And, you know, the long weekend, as much as we had some bad weather, people still came out in the numbers.
06:28And most people still, you know, and it is good to know that the young people as well, they can see them taking the eyes and light in it and understanding the significance of it.
06:37It shows that the light starts from inside and then illuminates outside.
06:43So, we need to applaud our East Indian brothers, our Hindu brothers and sisters, and trust that all of us, collectively, continue to live in light and make sure that we, those who are in darkness, we provide light for them.
06:58Yes, and those who are in darkness, we provide light, and we want to shed some light on something that we have continuously tried to educate the public here, of course.
07:09And that is buying or going to make a purchase or going to sell something on Marketplace Facebook.
07:18And the unfortunate thing is that on October 31st, a gentleman went to Malik to view a car advertised for sale.
07:27And in so doing, he was shot and killed.
07:29Mm-hmm.
07:31Masan, there are certain names, committee names you call.
07:35Once you hear those names, bad news, I am not labeling, I'm not, you know, ostracizing, I'm putting people, but there are certain,
07:43is if people tell you they want to come and do business with you, tell them no.
07:48Yeah, sorry, the car was advertised for sale on October 21st.
07:51Yes.
07:52So, I guess he would have gone there, you know, expectant of a sale when he was met.
07:58Very unfortunate, very unfortunate.
07:59And we're asking people to do their due diligence, you know, make sure that they ask questions, inquire, do further inquiries,
08:08make sure that the place and the area that transaction is taking place is a place where, you know, you have different parties involved.
08:16It cannot be that you're overlooking that these committees are high-risk committees, you know, and which part of this area is safe.
08:24You know, so when, and there's so much of issues like this that you could point to in terms of people doing transaction in certain committees that is laughable.
08:36And we want to let them know that, listen, as much as you need a car, make sure that your choice and the places that you go is paramount and it provides some level of safety.
08:45Yes.
08:46Yes.
08:47Clearly, clearly.
08:48All right.
08:49So, we often talk about gun violence on this program.
08:53And we wanted to show you a clip from October 11th where two persons were fatally shot and killed in the Valencia area.
09:02Here you have persons outside a bar, you know, enjoying a beverage or playing pool and this piece will shortly be interrupted by gunmen.
09:23And this is captured, fire, this is started to open, fire indiscriminately.
09:30Somebody was running, continuous gunfire.
09:39Hooded individuals, you have two persons lying on the floor there, one partially hit by the pool table.
09:47Corporal Shabadi seems to be alive, the other person is barely moving, the white t-shirt, you know, and it is quite unexpected because these persons, their backs were turned.
10:01That's right.
10:02And then gunfire erupted.
10:03Yeah, on the unguarded moment.
10:05And these people, they do diligence, you know, they probably drive several times, they stick out, they look and see, you know, the composition of the place.
10:15And, and the commissioner spoke about that.
10:18These guys in Palapina come blazing, you understand, and who feel that's it.
10:23And look at, look at that because these two guys come out, I don't know if the producer get played back, yes.
10:30So they come out, and they probably exchange some words here.
10:35He's holding a bottle, the guy, and then there's...
10:38More gunfire again.
10:39More gunfire.
10:40More, yes, and then back in.
10:42But...
10:43Yes.
10:44I'm wondering if that guy there who's running with his short pants also had a firearm because I think when a shot was fired, he turned and it appeared...
10:53Yes, he has a firearm.
10:54Yes, he has a firearm as well.
10:55That's right, yes, he has a firearm.
10:56But he was, he was shooting at the attacker.
10:59Yes.
11:00Right?
11:01So he was trying to make his way safe.
11:02I don't know if he was playing close, I'm not sure.
11:05But obviously the gunmen, they were still lying in wait and they still saw the opportunity after the previous shooting.
11:11And in this, of course, two persons were shot and killed October 11th, about a week and a half ago.
11:18But it just still shows the kind of a, you know, unwanted disregard for life.
11:24That's right.
11:25And where do you go?
11:26Where is safe anymore?
11:27You follow?
11:28It's unfortunate that even if you have a firearm on you, your safety is important.
11:33I'm just...
11:34Look at the...
11:35Just watch at the timing and the haste and the energy that the military use.
11:41It is amazing.
11:42This guy has a firearm.
11:43Yes, I am.
11:44I'm trying to figure out because he looks like an off-duty officer because he's bringing in the wounded into the bar.
11:54So, yes, it would seem that he was, we were right.
11:57Yes.
11:58The producer said to me that he's an off-duty officer and he would have gone there to assist after the shooting had taken place.
12:07Yes.
12:08He perhaps was nearby and he responded.
12:11Very unfortunate.
12:13Very, very unfortunate.
12:14Sometimes you have elements right there, you know, interacting, playing pool, and they're having some unfortunate challenges with them.
12:22And then they come to settle the matter right here.
12:24Yeah.
12:25Children, whoever, they come to settle the matter.
12:27And that is the evil we see in terms of the crime situation that is going on.
12:32Take no prisoners.
12:33They're taking anybody out.
12:35I have to send a loud message to the elements that, you know, put them on the back burner.
12:41Let them know that the officers are in full attack without force.
12:46That has been a message sent very early.
12:49Yep.
12:50In terms of the criminal elements.
12:51They had no care for no life.
12:53Very unfortunate.
12:54And also we had, on October 17th, we had another homicide in the Enterprise area.
13:01Andy Gourmandi shot and killed in his vehicle.
13:05Yes.
13:06And we've spoken about that central area, the Enterprise, Kunupia area, quite close.
13:13An explosion of gun violence in that area over the last two to three months.
13:18Several people shot and killed.
13:20And unfortunately, you know, Mr. Gourmandi was one of those persons shot and killed in that area there.
13:27And I remember seeing some video prior to the shooting where there was persons outside what appeared to be a bar.
13:36Yes.
13:37And he was parked in his vehicle a little higher up the road.
13:40The video ran for about a minute and a half.
13:43And then you see a car pull up and then you heard gunfire.
13:46And then they drove off.
13:48Well, in this case, he did what I saw was a bike man.
13:52Right.
13:53They blocked him.
13:54It's a bike, yes.
13:55Yes.
13:56And then a gentleman on a bike came, did the execution.
13:58So you can see this was well planned, well planned, well organized.
14:01You know, they're out to make sure at the end of the day, whatever instructions they get, they take the person out.
14:09Right.
14:10And sometimes the innocent people are guilty.
14:12These people are settling scores with gun.
14:15That is the, that is how things are happening right now.
14:19You know, there's no more sit down talking peace talk.
14:22My brother don't apologize.
14:23They come to suck it.
14:24Instructions are hit men.
14:26Come, they take you out.
14:27And we see it.
14:28And as I tell my brother, I say something, it's a form of incentive.
14:32Yeah.
14:33These fellows don't go up in rank.
14:34Yep.
14:35You know.
14:36All right.
14:37So a bit of good news on another front, of course.
14:41Fire officers had to rescue 40 persons on Sunday after they became trapped at the Avocat waterfall in Lanchise.
14:53And I would want to believe that, you know, you have to be very mindful of the weather conditions around this time to be going on hikes, especially in these areas where you can become trapped.
15:09Yes.
15:10Because if the water rises in a particular area or the terrain becomes difficult to maneuver, a tree falls or something, and then you cannot go back that way, it's imperative that you find alternative routes.
15:22And if you're not familiar with the area, you can find yourself in difficulty.
15:26Yes.
15:27And it's always good to check the weatherman and the material office.
15:30They have been warning us since Thursday that over the weekend we're having bad weather.
15:34And it's okay to postpone.
15:35Yeah.
15:36It's okay to rescue.
15:37It's okay to say, listen, I'm going to trust this, this weather, and make sure it is well, it's safe that, and the weather is okay.
15:44And it would appreciate the fact that weather goes with sometimes a hike.
15:48Once rain comes in, that's bad news.
15:50Yeah.
15:51It is a recipe for chaos.
15:52And I really want to salute the fire officers who did good work.
15:56But we appealed to groups, we appealed to organizations, bad weather, bad news for hiking, the best of us.
16:03Even Captain, who is Captain?
16:05Rambrat, yes.
16:06Even Captain Rambrat, don't hike junior weather, bad weather.
16:09You follow?
16:10So we appealed to groups, I mean, they say hiking is good, it's understanding, but you cannot put yourself at risk.
16:17Once you have been alerted over the weekend, we intend to have bad weather.
16:21Yes.
16:22All right.
16:23It's day 96 of the state of emergency.
16:25We want to take you through the figures quickly.
16:28Number of operations, 6,955.
16:31Target priority offenders, 2,406.
16:35Searches conducted, 45,576.
16:39Traffic operations, 4,633.
16:42Total persons arrested, 3,084.
16:46Traffic offenses detected, 27,717.
16:52Firearms recovered, total 185.
16:55We had a rise in rifles, 24 rifles.
16:58Ammunition recovered in total, 2,308 rungs.
17:02We had a rise in 9mm of 1,235 rungs.
17:05104 rungs of 12 gauge, 436 rungs of 5.56.
17:10And 88 rungs of 0.45.
17:13Dangerous drugs seized, 565,222.47 grams of cannabis.
17:228,756.35 grams of cocaine.
17:271,032 STC pills and, of course, 15.39 grams of molly.
17:33565,000 grams of cannabis.
17:39It tells you the amount of work that the police is doing.
17:42And, of course, the kind of intelligence that they're getting to ensure that we get the drugs and the ammunition and the guns off.
17:48And the police service continue to need to be applauded.
17:53And I continue to make the case.
17:55All that can happen without partnership of members of the public, the law-abiding citizens.
18:01And for them understanding that the more you get the drugs off and get the guns and the ammunition off,
18:06it creates a safer community, it creates a safer environment, and a safer Trinnebago.
18:11And we should applaud persons who are working in concert with police.
18:15All right.
18:16Let's take a quick look now at our headlines.

22:51As we are aware, during long weekends, unfortunately, because traffic is lighter, people tend to take the chance of driving at higher speeds and therefore endanger themselves and other road users. So our job is to enforce the speed limits and remind motorists of the importance of obeying road safety traffic regulations.
23:09In addition to speed, we're also doing other road traffic enforcement detections such as DUI, tint, and of course, seatbelt and cell phone use. So we're asking the public to support our initiatives by, of course, obeying the road traffic rules and being safe out there.
25:00I got a flat tire.
25:01I got a flat tire sometime and he was kind enough to send two officers, you know, and to accommodate me and to make sure all is well.
25:08So, thank you.
25:16Thank you very much.
25:17Mr. Teasdale and Mr. Gil from St. Mary's.
25:18pot that...
25:19exactly.
25:20It was a place where police needed some assistance.
25:21Right.
25:22You were...
25:23You know, usually when you get a breakdown, when you got a breakdown or flat tire, all is
25:26well...
25:28a breakdown when you got break down a flat tire always well by certain places you need police
25:33right okay i said them all yes i said yeah you you see it often because i know sometimes you
25:40you see that but let's let's get that caller caller good evening and welcome to be on the tape
25:45good afternoon good afternoon mark and officer shavady and this is a direct question to you
25:52officer shavady i'm not too sure if you fall it but i suspect you are falling the the utterances
26:00and i'm using utterances in quotes of the attorney general and this is what he has to say on three
26:08specific occasion in parliament he said i'm coming for you you and you recently he said
26:16he is a law abiding attorney general and he went after the personnel the officers in the ttps who
26:28the judge made a pronouncement on with respect to the kidnapping in barbara's adoption and as of last
26:38week friday at the prize giving and graduating ceremony no prize giving ceremony at the law faculty
26:53this is what the ag said the ag tells those students confront anarchy and restore order in society
27:04and what he told them finirad has become a type of anarchy and what he is acting for his health and what he has done
27:17to an extent thrown the ttps under the bus because the ttps is the numero uno organization for law
27:33and order and order and if he is saying we are in a state type of anarchy then you all in the ttps
27:44has to come forward and destroy it you have that badge to protect and serve us and there are a lot of
27:52examples that the ttps has failed to insert themselves with respect to law and order there are numerous occasions
28:04and i i will call out a few for example the president interfered or facilitated something with meritless
28:14we had a prime minister making a statement that hey it has something with this sea bridge corruption
28:23we had the dc dss 20 million being taken by police and then given back all of those things are things
28:31that the police supposed to have intervened we had the paria issue all of those things four deaths we don't
28:38know if it's home as i if it's purposely done all of those things are law and order issues that it is
28:46i want to know and before i go every motor car on the road that is not late in the night and park and
28:56excite the ferry people in the police continue to give these people apply that is law and order when we
29:05facilitate stop breaking it off then we are basically agreeing with our attorney general that hey something
29:16is wrong with our society so as you as an officer i want to know what sort of intervention you will go
29:27back to your organization and say look what the ag has done to us in the wider society yes please step
29:38under the bus and it is like myself wants to know where we are with you all right well thank you for the
29:48long question but i want to let my my caller know that as a serving police officer i cannot respond or give an
29:55opinion on the attorney general or on any of my political directorate the standing orders is
30:02absolutely clear that i am that i saved our opinion for you know for the police social and welfare which
30:09is the body that represents the police so i would want i'm trusting mr dixon is listening and probably he
30:16will be able to respond on behalf of the ttps but as a serving officer unfortunately i'm i cannot comment
30:23um on any of the political utterances of the attorney um by virtue of my duties and the standing order
30:33that i have to comply with right so unfortunately that question will have to go to our president mr
30:40dixon who i'm sure will be quite competent to respond all right thanks a lot so much corporal shabadi

37:14you the element of surprise they want to catch you and as we come in and those
37:18figures that you talked in it speaks volumes right and I'm sure that other
37:24other areas and other divisional heads will be looking at best practice and
37:29looking to take after that type of pattern and we want to applaud the
37:33divisional head we want to applaud you know the task force and officers who
37:37came out and say we are here to protect and serve and it's not just a motto
37:41it's not as a team but it's something that people see and there's a video they
37:46could tap they could touch it and they say officers are out in their numbers and
37:50we are indeed grateful yep all right we have another call on the line call a good
37:54evening and welcome to be on the chair yes good evening mr. Besson how are you
37:59today am I right all right
38:01get your pen ready to write different man when I follow up when real hot mr.
38:06shavadi sir blessings to you man I just want to endorse the work that you do and
38:14ask you to keep on keeping on thank you
38:18I'm sorry I couldn't make me um the light up um on Saturday um but um I I would be
38:27there at your next event and this is the photographer so yeah I apologize for not
38:33showing up okay okay okay okay yes um well I'm going to I'm going to make some
38:38point here quick and fast and furious all right we're starting with more support for
38:46mr. shavadi and the effort to make every these young souls it is very important
38:51and this is where we really had a tackle if we had to change the mindset we really
38:57what the time demand for what he's doing I hope and that we can get some more
39:00people on board social development and these people we that need to find some
39:05more funding for this gentleman I am thinking as I told you I have a lot of
39:09thoughts on you know going forward probably look for some kind of land parcel
39:14trying agriculture project we could try for housing for young offenders to try to
39:21get them to go in a different direction without a lot of things that I want to
39:26talk about you know I mean so you talk and you keep it going on I still want to say
39:30alcohol is more dirty than marijuana and the problem with the marijuana is where is
39:37great people buying it from it there is a whole next discussion and I want to end on a not so positive
39:46note I want to say to the city the highest minister which is the prime one that you cannot say kill them
39:56violently and then come on see sure that violent crime she have a problem with violent crime in
40:05turn that but I mean not and you're saying kill people violent so if any high officers they need to consider what they're saying and how this is right so have a good evening and I hope to see you soon again mr.
40:15Sean but since to you and yours I was a lot caller copper yeah that that gentleman um as you're aware
40:25that he called in some time and he said he would like to give us services excellent photographer and
40:30he would like to conduct some training programs some sessions not a lot of people call in and they tell you
40:35they want to assess and then it was just a discussion but gentleman did a follow-up I want to commend him he came
40:40young at the concert we missed you at the concert and he did some beautiful photos at the concert but
40:46I think more than that he wants to ensure that his skill set that that type of skill set be passed on to
40:52the young people kept him the beauty and wonderful things are not just the ugly things that that sometimes
40:59we find on Facebook so I want to commend my brother when men come on board is a good thing when men come on
41:05board and they find a role they empower and to work with young people and to adopt a child they must be
41:11committed so I'm gonna tell my brother um thank you very much and there's a lot of people after you
41:16leave this program this call yeah and offer this services so I know that there's a lot of good people
41:19watching this program and you can make yourself available not just at St. James but at other clubs
41:25that within your geographical space that you'll be able to apply your trade and by extension pass on
41:31your knowledge and your skill set to young people yeah when you say a lot of good people I was approached
41:36by at least three of them today at long circular mall and they are very yeah enjoy the this program
41:42because it enriches their thinking and when the officers come on here and they give a forum for
41:50persons to call and and give suggestions or share thoughts or concerns or something that they need help
41:55with this is a program for that oh yes and I certainly want to thank you for the humans which
42:01you continue to do for the ttps and by extension to help them cultivate and you know shape the minds of
42:07these young people in trinidad and to be going to help them to get on the right path so that they can have
42:13a bright future blessings to you and yours thank you all right let's go and take a short break and

44:20honor their memory celebrate their life place your personal tribute in the special all-saint supplement
44:36from the experts classifieds book today to honor your loved ones
44:41welcome back to be on the tape i'm your host marcus and of course joined today by corporal derek
44:58shabadi co-founder and manager of the saint james police youth club and you know usually during the
45:03weekends these long weekends we always warn persons about uh you know when they're using the roadways as
45:09motorists even pedestrians uh but unfortunately we had a couple of uh rtas over the weekend uh we wanted
45:16to show you and earlier today as well uh this one is earlier today and this is in the uh
45:25casper area sorry so there are two vehicles there involved and you can see corporal shabadi that the roads
45:31are wet are wet yes um and what do they tell you when the roads are wet drive at a speed that is safe
45:41and drive at a speed that you know if you can maneuver that there would no kind of
45:48collision taking place you see what happened this one is at the db flyover which is not far from gas
45:54peril of course look at that along the same highway going down there and this van appear to have lost
46:01control and crashed into the barricades uh luckily i hope that nobody was hurt uh badly um but as you
46:09said when the roads are wet motorists please be mindful this is in the valencia stretch wow i remember
46:18seeing this on social media as well wow car or the van rather it looks like a a pickup of some sort
46:24loses control and goes off the road and we know that valencia stretch is very very synonymous yes
46:34number of road traffic accidents some even ending fatally over the last couple of years that's right
46:40and look at this one this is in indigo martin area i presume i don't know how this guy got on top of
46:46there but it's almost like he's parked there on top of the railings and we know some of those roads um
46:52going around uh if you're heading west there's a drain uh i remember a couple years ago unfortunately
46:58a young lady lost control around a corner and the river or the drain was filled with water and she
47:04went down in there and she drowned uh so we have to be mindful of a lot of sharp turns along that diggo
47:09martin heading heading back out of diggo martin heading into diggo martin that you need to be mindful
47:15of love and of course if you do not know the road my advice to use to slow down excellent i don't know
47:21what is wrong with us in terms of speeding that we have to get somewhere so far you know i don't
47:27understand i don't understand the kind of indiscriminate driving the the recklessness you know you the
47:33water is already bad it means that the the road cannot you can't play safe for the road anymore and
47:39therefore look at the you see our cars crumple up and it speaks to the level of speed taking place
47:46sometimes your vehicle is effective it's not working the best you know and once you're traveling and
47:51you you're using the public road it is absolutely imperative that you slow down slow down you will
47:58reach safe and we appeal to people even those in the car sometimes you have to tell big man could you
48:02can you slow down please because people life is at risk and therefore you put other other person's
48:09life at risk as well and we have to appeal to members of the public i'm going to start young to
48:15from early drivers the importance of understanding that the car is not just a vehicle it could be a
48:21deadly weapon as well yes all right just remind you of the numbers to call six two three one seven one
48:28one one extensions nineteen ninety six and nineteen ninety seven but this weekend come friday saturday
48:34sunday there's a huge event in tobago oh yes you you have your ticket already uh no i'm leaving it to
48:41you i'll talk to mr assistant commissioner siberro see what we can work out for you no but carnival i
48:46will never thought in my wildest i will be talking about carnival in october but it's here it's it's it's
48:53growing in tobago it's a beautiful thing and we want to appeal to people that police officers will be
48:58out in the numbers you hit the port officers that they're on the port airport um they're checking
49:04on your vehicle you want to come across there were drugs our second thought on that yes as i speak i
49:10know that there are several officers who have been transferred and will be performing duty and if you
49:14know because assistant commissioner siberro and the senior soup those those are excellent officers they're
49:19on the ground right and i um i don't know if this is the third year but carnival in tobago has always
49:26been a safe one right because of of course you have police officers coming together and i want to
49:33tell members of the public triad and tobago police service don't feel as a different law in tobago yeah
49:39the laws remains the same you know we want to appeal to women move in a group there's no need to be
49:45flashing outside of jewelry they'll be taking drinks from strangers walk with your own drink make sure your
49:51drink is secured make sure and have a proper phone system where somebody can contact you and communicate
49:56with you times are different now and therefore the elements will be around looking to pray on those
50:01who are easy target yeah you know go out enjoy yourself the next thing to you in guest house and you
50:08leave your turn and attend because you know these guys also have pool and and you don't want to know
50:12that you leave trying to be good to enjoy yourself and then you get it too or the four year old six
50:19year old drunk in the pool there you have to be alert you have to conduct yourself with a little bit of
50:25assertiveness and by extension carnival finish on sunday you want to come back safe and you know the
50:32individual who are driving and going behind the car on alcohol you tell them no say you're not going to
50:39drive this car today under the influence of alcohol arrange a car to pick you and drop you up and if
50:45you must drink and drive drink water in the absence of that have a designated driver your life is important
50:52people life is important right some people feel that tobago road is a free fall and the violence
50:58take place as well so you're literally not going tobago on this next road yeah we're saying that is not what
51:03the road is for the road was built to ensure some level of safety and to reverse and ensure that you
51:08reach one place to the next people have a safe to be your carnival it's growing it's popular and
51:15they want to make sure at the end of the day our citizenry are safe and even so too you you have to
51:20represent in a way so that when when the tourists come to this to this carnival they will they will
51:26they will want to come back rather than seeing things happening and that they dislike well said well
51:31so you know so we have to we have to keep that in mind we are representing for trinidad and tobago when
51:36we have the carnival there as well as one we have in trinidad but i will only go across if you could
51:43find a space on your private jet to accommodate me let me make a phone call let me make a phone call
51:50i could arrange that all right okay by the time you're going to make that phone call after the uh
51:55the the show let's take a call call a good evening and welcome to be on the tape
52:00present good evening mr the fans and atp um shabadi
52:09go ahead i am giving you that title because you're supposed to be gay and maybe last time i'm saying
52:13in this i think it's the most unjust treatment in the history of um human resource management and of
52:21promotion anyway to learn to be able that this well-loved with hard-working officer one of the
52:28hardest working officer consistently over the years should be corporate after 20 years
52:33um yes it is unjust right that is that is my contribution thank you okay all right cool thanks
52:42a lot and i i know that our passions run high and everybody see how everybody sees uh the work that
52:48you're doing and i know that uh some people feel that uh you know after saving so long in the tps you
52:55know the uh the opinion uh we don't know the circumstances sometimes you know things happen but uh nevertheless
53:01and in the eyes of many you are far uh superior in terms of your rank rather than what you are
53:07bestowed upon at this point in time well at this stage you have to recognize what people bring to
53:12the table and appreciate that yes you know and if if whatever value that comes to it you have to salute
53:18it and i i i thank god for the police service the police have been very good to me yeah you know
53:23places i've gone i've never thought i've gone i've gone brazil i've gone you know the kind of people
53:28have made kind of wonderful people i've met in the police service who has you know be part and parcel
53:34of my development priceless and all thanks goes to god god has been good he has been tremendous a
53:42beautiful family and i think that i want to salute and tell all those who order police service is a good
53:48place to come you know it's a good place we can start a career you can work with young people i am a
53:55i represents that and the amount of officers who are doing good work we have to salute them as well
54:00so thank you brother but all glory goes to god yes certainly and if i have to bestow you know the
54:05rank and you will be a commissioner of harmless and goodness well you see what i mean i'll take that
54:09i'll take that yes all right so uh we want to remind those in the valencia area you know in the last
54:16couple of uh months it's been a very uh rough time for two persons in the valencia area we had a you
54:22know we had had a gang related activities we have had a number of homicides this is your time valencia
54:28to come out to the valencia town meeting uh at the east in the eastern division at the valencia south
54:34government primary school alexander street valencia this wednesday that's tomorrow from from 6 pm
54:41please go out there let the officers of that area know the problems that you're having what
54:48suggestions you have that you have sorry that can make your community and by extension the area the
54:55eastern division safer for you your family your friends and and those visitors who come into that area
55:02that is the one of our signature initiative and we feel proud about it where members of the public can
55:10come and walk and talk and chat and even look at some of the projects to expand its initiative because
55:16it has to be a collective effort and we want to commend the senior superintendents who take time off
55:22who provides a platform a listening platform where you speak we listen because it's all about
55:29understanding and creating a greater atmosphere and partnership with members of the public so i appeal
55:35to the public come out valencia is a beautiful place and you know the fight continues we will not
55:40retreat and valencia is not for sale and east well the whole eastern division when you go up there
55:46officers just you know do justice and they really accommodate you yeah certainly you know and as you
55:52said you know it's a it's a it's a place where you know a lot of people are fearful because of the these
55:57criminal elements but of course find the niche in that meeting if you want to give or share information
56:03that is anonymous you can do it there as well uh pass the information on anonymously write it on a piece
56:10of paper slip it to the uh that's right uh officer there and let the information uh filter down to the
56:17relevant personnel who will investigate yes and i just want to appeal to people before we go
56:23to be google carnival you're going across there make sure be assertive watch what's your jewelry
56:30what's your money what's your friends make sure that you you conduct yourself with a level of
56:35you know assertiveness and by extension know that at the end of the day it's it's all about
56:42participating having clean fun and coming back safe to your family and friends all right i just
56:49want to endorse that as well if you go to tobago this weekend please be safe uh make sure you are
56:54going with persons that you trust and as i said daniel have a good time all right remember we run tonight
