00:00Please welcome your host, Fleur East.
00:30Hello and welcome to It Takes Two, live on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:36It's Wednesday already and we are catching up with not one, not two, but four couples.
00:44So I won't keep you hanging on any longer.
00:47Here's what's coming up on the show tonight.
00:51At the weekend, our social media star had a lot to be content about.
00:56His powerful Paso proved he's a serious contender.
00:59But how is he handling the pressure of that front-runner label?
01:03On Saturday, Valvinda and Julian closed the show in style with a Charleston that was fun, flirty and full of technique.
01:10But how are they coping now that iconic performance is Charles Dunn?
01:14And with a ten-point increase in scores, Alex and Johannes' Fiesta-themed samba proved that you can never be too late to the party.
01:22They'll be talking about that leaderboard-topping samba later.
01:25And don't forget, you can send our couples any question, big or small, from who is the class clown of the group to how many mints does Johannes eat per hour.
01:35You can contact us via our WhatsApp number 0800 022 3801 or just scan the QR code on your screen.
01:42But first up are Harry and Karen.
01:45On Saturday, our sprinter put the quick into quick step with a performance that certainly put him in the running.
01:50In fact, he's still lapping it up.
01:52Harry! Harry! Harry! Harry! Harry! Harry! Harry!
01:57Harry! Harry! Harry! Harry! Harry! Harry!
01:58Here's a reminder of Harry and Karen's pacey performance.
02:04You've got a wonderful natural hold.
02:07You pick your arms up and everything settles beautifully.
02:10I would like to see you fly and drive around the floor a little bit more, but you have the most amazing musicality.
02:17I have a beautiful personality on the dance floor.
02:20A quick step is supposed to be light and rhythmical.
02:23I got all of them.
02:26It's Harry and Carolyn!
02:28Now, Harry, after a quick step,
02:30most people are just taking their breath, relaxing,
02:33but you just kept running.
02:35What emotions were you feeling during this victory lap?
02:38Do you know what it was?
02:39It was I could finally be let loose
02:41because with the quick step, as you know, there's so many rules.
02:44There's, you know, you've got to be this way,
02:45hold your shoulders this way.
02:47So it was just a sense of relief, and I could actually just run like normal.
02:49Yeah, you're like, I've done it, I've done it, amazing.
02:51Well, it was clear how much fun you're having,
02:54and it is infectious, and you can see that from this footage we were sent
02:58of Violet and George watching your quick step.
03:06Bless them.
03:08Bless them.
03:09So cute, Violet and George.
03:11As a dad yourself, I mean, how lovely is that to see?
03:15Do you know what it is? This is what it's about, right?
03:16I think, you know, inspiring the next generation,
03:19showing people that, you know, you can go out, be your true self,
03:22have fun with how you're moving, and these little kids just doing that
03:24is literally just the best thing ever.
03:26It's beautiful, isn't it?
03:27And Karen, you've been on the show for 14 series now.
03:30I mean, yes.
03:32How exciting is it to have a celeb with so much potential?
03:36That's a lot of pressure.
03:37Come on, guys.
03:40The P word.
03:40Keep it down, keep it down.
03:41He's never danced before.
03:43You know what?
03:44He's incredible.
03:45I mean, I've been very fortunate throughout the years being on this show
03:48to have incredible people that I've worked with.
03:51But, you know, he's just a, you're a different human.
03:55He's like a superhero.
03:58So I literally have to, like, I'm like, what's your kryptonite?
04:02Don't bring it in.
04:03You know, but he's incredible, and he's infectious.
04:06The energy, the attention, the attention to detail,
04:09the way he shuts down, the way he wakes up.
04:11It's like everything, I'm learning something new about Harry.
04:14But what I love is just that positivity and that enthusiasm
04:17and that energy that he brings to the show and to me.
04:21Oh, it's beautiful.
04:22You can see you're so, like, willing to learn as well.
04:24Yes, yes, whatever you say.
04:26On top of learning a new routine, though,
04:28you had to master the art of a quick, quick change.
04:31I mean, what was that like?
04:33Well, do you know what?
04:34It's not down to me.
04:36The wardrobe team at Strictly are phenomenal.
04:39They're like an F1 pit stop crew.
04:40So behind that curtain, literally, they're there ready.
04:43But it's one of those things where you're just, like,
04:45appreciative of the whole process, like, where we dance,
04:48but the look, the vibe, everything, the team behind it are amazing.
04:51It's the magic of Strictly, isn't it?
04:53And you can see that Harry is clearly here to challenge himself.
04:56He's working really hard.
04:58He went from a week one score of 19 to then week two, 26.
05:03I mean, how would, I mean, it's major.
05:05How would you describe his work ethic?
05:07Intense.
05:09But you know what?
05:10He's quick.
05:11It's pressure.
05:12You know, come on.
05:12But it's, you know what?
05:14We don't play.
05:15We, you know, there is a job to do.
05:17And I think we come in on a Monday and he's like, okay, I feed the choreography and I just kind of stuff it in his brain.
05:24And he just goes, you know, he doesn't ask questions.
05:27He's just learning, taking it all in.
05:29And that's what I appreciate, you know, and he's a hard worker.
05:33And that's what you have to do, you know, especially since he's never danced before.
05:36So I'm constantly trying to remind myself that because a lot of people think he's a sprinter.
05:40He's got rhythm.
05:41But I'm like, yeah, but he's never done anything, you know, like this before.
05:46So I also have to calm down and take it easy and kind of feed everything one step at a time.
05:55Well, you know what?
05:55It's impressive.
05:56And you've made it through to movie week.
05:58You'll be bringing the sauce with a salsa.
06:01It's a Strictly's take on I Always Wanted a Brother from Mufasa, The Lion King.
06:06Now, on Saturday, Karen described you as a stallion.
06:08I'm guessing from the song, you're going to be channeling a lion.
06:11So what's it been like getting into the character?
06:13Yeah, I've had to try and find my role.
06:16I think it's been more like a little meow at the minute, but the rule will come eventually, I hope.
06:23Hey, look at that tummy.
06:26And then raw.
06:28Is there a war somewhere?
06:30No.
06:30That's from today.
06:31You're looking good.
06:33You know what?
06:33That was this afternoon before the massive burger we had.
06:36Because then after that, we slowed down a lot.
06:38I was like, what happened?
06:40It was suddenly a slow salsa.
06:41It was a slow salsa.
06:42I love that.
06:43A salsa's all about the hips.
06:44How are you finding that?
06:46Yeah, because Craig mentioned my hips in week one.
06:49So I've been trying to find them to be fair.
06:51I think I might have found a little something.
06:53Okay, well, would you like to share it with us?
06:55We'd like to see that.
06:56Yeah, go ahead.
06:57Yeah.
06:57See the hips.
06:58Easy, easy, easy.
07:00Don't care about you.
07:02Hey, come on, buddy.
07:04I was going to try.
07:05Oh, hi, hi, hi.
07:07Oh, hi.
07:07Oh, hi.
07:08No, you're all right.
07:09Keep it down.
07:09Yeah.
07:09I love it.
07:12Easy.
07:13I'm loving the figure eight.
07:14I'm seeing the action.
07:15I'm loving it all.
07:16Karen, you're working with Sasha Phillips on the choreography.
07:18So can you tease us?
07:20What are we looking forward to?
07:20Listen, Sasha is incredible.
07:22She's given us such an authentic feel to the salsa.
07:26You know, sometimes we're a little bit lifted in the salsa.
07:29This time, everything's more underground.
07:32It's very feel good.
07:35It's rooted.
07:36Yes.
07:36And she's given us some excellent choreography.
07:39Obviously, you can see that he's turning, I'm turning.
07:41He's doing his own choreography.
07:42I'm doing my own choreography.
07:43And then we meet together.
07:45Amazing.
07:45She's done an incredible job.
07:46I cannot wait to see it, honestly.
07:48Good luck.
07:50It's Harry and Karen, everyone.
07:52Thank you, Karen, everyone.
07:53Next up, George and Alexis.
07:55After an acting class from Steph and Dennis,
07:57George grabbed the bull by the horns and became L George.
08:01But what was it about bullfighting that helped George see red?
08:05Let me remind myself.
08:06Come on.
08:13Everything had an intention.
08:15We knew exactly where you were going.
08:19I would like a little bit more fluidity in it
08:23when you move from foot to foot.
08:25But I think we have someone very special here.
08:27You must tell the story.
08:31You kept the spell tonight.
08:36Welcome, George and Alexis.
08:38Thank you very much.
08:39You look fabulous.
08:39First things first.
08:40I mean, your Paso face was seriously good.
08:43But behind that mask, how much were you actually enjoying yourself?
08:45Um, I feel like the enjoyment came after it.
08:49I feel like I sort of blacked out throughout it.
08:52Oh, really?
08:53I sort of, we got to the end of the routine.
08:55And I was like, oh my God, that's like the best we've done it.
08:58Well, at the beginning, he hit his beginning position.
09:01And I knew right away, I'm like, oh, he's locked in.
09:03And I was just like, yes, George.
09:05Yes, George.
09:06And I almost forgot to go.
09:08Because I was like, oh, wait, crap.
09:09I have to move.
09:10I'm like, oh, yes.
09:10Because I just noticed he was immediately locked in, in character.
09:14Yeah.
09:15Sorry about the language you just heard.
09:16We just get very excited.
09:17We just get very excited.
09:18Now, you already know this, but we listened to your mics.
09:21And we heard this.
09:24Quick, say something for it to us, too.
09:28Oh, that was sick.
09:31We were so pleased to know that during your live performance,
09:34you were thinking about us.
09:35Oh, yeah.
09:36Thanks for the show.
09:36Is this going to be a weekly thing?
09:39I don't know.
09:39I feel like I said nothing in the first routine.
09:43I was like, oh, we need to make sure we say something this week.
09:45And then, as I said, I just sort of, like, blacked out.
09:47And then I got to the end.
09:48And I was, my initial thought was, oh, my God,
09:51I'm not going to be in the TikTok again.
09:53So I was like, oh, just, just, just, just say something.
09:56Say something.
09:56And the only thing that came to my head was making sounds.
09:59Well, we loved it.
10:00Well, you're welcome.
10:01OK, back to your passo, as the combined leaderboard shows,
10:05you were just one point behind Lewis.
10:07Lewis, so how much do you agree with Craig's comment, Alexis,
10:11that Lewis might need to watch his back?
10:13I mean, coming from Craig, that's such a compliment.
10:16So we really appreciate the compliment.
10:18But honestly, I'm just so proud of George,
10:21like how he's literally taken all the concepts that we've had so far
10:25on the chin, fully embraced him, and he's worked so hard.
10:28And so I'm glad that they're seeing that.
10:30And the judges' comments left you speechless.
10:33Yeah.
10:33But what we need to know is, what did your nan, Glenda,
10:35think of your performance?
10:36She was over the moon with it.
10:39I think she's, she's very proud.
10:41And, yeah, I think she, well, she messaged me
10:44and she said that she was very proud.
10:45And then she said that her parents danced until their sort of late 80s.
10:50And then she was sort of saying that they would have loved to have seen it.
10:53Oh, that's lovely.
10:54Yeah, so maybe there is a bit of dancing in the jeans.
10:57I mean, it was a great night.
10:58Shirley called you a front runner and you were so keen
11:01to impress your acting teacher.
11:03He's got a surprise message for you.
11:05No, he hasn't.
11:05I think you personified the matador in you absolutely expertly.
11:10You look serious and also look like you're enjoying doing what you were doing.
11:14In fact, you did so well, I think you've earned yourself a 12-month scholarship
11:17in the Stefan Dennis Masterclass of Acting.
11:20Only kidding, mate.
11:20I think I need that myself.
11:22Cheers, bud.
11:22Good on you.
11:24Wow.
11:25So bad.
11:27Hey, that's an honour.
11:28A scholarship as well.
11:29Oh, yeah.
11:30Yeah, OK, so moving on.
11:32This week, you're dancing a couple's choice to Soda Pop.
11:35By the Saja Boys, a tribute to the 2025 animated film K-pop Demon Hunters,
11:41which, of course, everyone knows about because it was massive.
11:44Of course.
11:44You didn't know anything about it.
11:46Have you done the research?
11:46I'm a huge fan.
11:48I forgot that I had a shrine of them in my room is what happened there.
11:52No, I've done some brief research, yeah.
11:55OK.
11:56Love everything about them.
11:57Great.
11:57They're the best, honestly.
11:58What elements are you bringing into the dance from the film?
12:01I'm bringing just...
12:03LAUGHTER
12:05I'm bringing hope and a positive attitude.
12:08That's what I'm bringing.
12:09He is.
12:11And Tommy Franzen has choreographed this couple's choice.
12:14There are no rules when it comes to the couple's choice.
12:16Yeah.
12:17So, tease us.
12:17What can we look forward to, Alexis?
12:19Yes, Tommy has done such an incredible job with this routine.
12:23I'm so excited.
12:24There's little nods to K-pop, nods to the show.
12:28So, I love the moments he's created, the Easter eggs he's put in.
12:32We might have a lifter, too.
12:36Wow, this is from today.
12:37This is really cool.
12:38This is going to be so much fun.
12:38Yeah.
12:38It's just going to be a party.
12:39And we're hoping that everyone at home, through the camera, in the audience, just have so much fun with it.
12:45Because we just want it to be a party.
12:47Yes.
12:47And on average, the couple's choice dance is one of the highest scoring routines that people do on Strictly.
12:52No pressure.
12:53And both Shirley and Motsey think that you could be the front runner.
12:57Yeah, no pressure.
12:57How are you handling it this week?
12:59I was handling it okay, now I feel like I've already got a bit more pressure.
13:02Just reminded you.
13:03Yeah, okay, cool.
13:04Yeah, no, can we go back and train again?
13:07I'm feeling great.
13:08Thanks, Blur.
13:09Appreciate it.
13:09Yeah, you know, no problem.
13:11You can always rely on us.
13:12We've had a message in from Matty from Cambridge.
13:15Thanks, Matty.
13:16It says, would you rather fight 100 ant-sized horses or one horse-sized ant?
13:22Oh.
13:23It's a very important question.
13:25I'm going for the ant-sized horses.
13:29Okay, yeah.
13:30Because if Peter aren't watching, I could just stomp on him.
13:35Or I don't know how I'd tackle a large ant.
13:38Interesting tactic.
13:39Yeah, I said it.
13:41You were really considered in your answer.
13:43Of course.
13:43Moving on swiftly.
13:46You're steadily climbing up the leaderboard from fourth place in week one to third place on the combined leaderboard in week two.
13:52What do you think George can do to get to the top, Alexis?
13:57Pray.
13:58Pray.
13:58Yeah.
13:59Hope.
13:59No, I think that he just keeps doing what he's doing and taking everything on with an open heart and open mind and just fully immersing himself.
14:08Because he's becoming a dancer.
14:11And I see the potential and he's working so hard and has the heart, has the attitude.
14:16And so he has all the ingredients that it takes.
14:18And so we just need to keep formulating.
14:20All the ingredients.
14:21Can't wait to see the meal.
14:21Can't wait to see the meal.
14:22All the best for Saturday.
14:24It's George and Alexis.
14:25All the best for Saturday.
14:25All the best for Saturday.
14:25All the best for Saturday.
14:26All the best for Saturday.
14:26All the best for Saturday.
14:27All the best for Saturday.
14:28We've survived the first elimination and now movie week is fast approaching.
14:32So it's time to find out how Lewis, Karen and Stefan are getting on in training.
14:36Five, six, seven, eight.
15:06What we need to improve is how to channel her body to be coordinated with her fabulous legs.
15:13Beautiful.
15:14My concern would be hips.
15:18Nice.
15:18These are not Shakira hips, tell you that.
15:21Yeah, he's got his work cut out, that's for sure.
15:25This week we're doing the waltz.
15:28I'm a funny little sausage because the really simple steps, they're the ones that I'm messing up all the time.
15:34Heel toe.
15:34And the stuff that she thought I'd have trouble with, I seem to be going ahead with quite easily.
15:39Beautiful work.
15:41FYI, last time I did a waltz, I won a BAFTA.
15:45Just, just no pressure.
15:52Next up, Balvinda and Julian.
15:54They closed the show on Saturday with a cheeky Charleston that caused Craig Swivel Horwood to utter these words.
16:00Your swivel was gonja.
16:02But thankfully, unlike Craig, these two didn't slip up.
16:07Here's a reminder.
16:08You were absolutely together, spot on.
16:13The choreography was absolutely outstanding.
16:16Finish up some of the steps that you start, and more energy in the arms, because Swivel was gonja.
16:24Do it again next week and every other week.
16:29This was fantastic.
16:30Yes!
16:30It's Balvinda and Julian!
16:34Team Ballyon in the house.
16:37Hello.
16:38What a way to close the show.
16:41I mean, jewels threw you over your shoulder.
16:43The audience were on their feet, the judges were blown away.
16:46Talk me through the emotions you were experiencing.
16:49Do you know, I don't know what happened on that stage, but two minutes before I was about to go on, the routine dropped out of my head.
16:58No!
16:58Yeah.
16:59Ask Jules.
17:00We were literally about to walk out, and I saw Bal practicing the beginning, and I don't know, we had some sort of combination, and she missed about eight counts.
17:10And then I just watched her, and I went, that looks fantastic.
17:14Yeah.
17:15Great job.
17:16Just do that out there.
17:17And then we're sat in the car, and I'm holding a steering wheel that isn't attached to a car, and I'm like, oh, smile, smile.
17:24Wow.
17:25So you were actually a little bit nervous because you held it down.
17:27No, no.
17:28Deep down, I absolutely knew that once the music started, I knew that Bal would smash it.
17:32What was really brilliant, though, Jules was like, Bal, it's fine.
17:34It's just me and you.
17:35It's just me and you.
17:36Just do this for us.
17:37And I thought, okay, cool.
17:38I'll just do this for us.
17:39And that was it.
17:40And then I don't know what happened.
17:41And then at the end, I was like, woo!
17:42Well, it looked pretty good.
17:44I mean, you went from a week one score of 17 to a week two score of 30.
17:50You had the highest rise out of all of our celebs.
17:53Well done.
17:57What do you think this 13-point increase is down to, Jules?
18:01Oh, just absolute thrill-seeking.
18:03Just up in the air, getting flung around.
18:05I think that's the secret, right?
18:07No, honestly, we came back after Samba and we were really pleased with it.
18:12But, you know, there were aspects that we were a little bit disappointed with.
18:15And then Bal just came in and just came in with this attitude about, you know what?
18:19I'm just going to work really, really hard.
18:21And I'm going to, you know, I think you were really determined to announce yourself and say,
18:25you know, like, I'm here, I deserve to be here, I want to do this.
18:29And then you came out all guns blazing and absolutely smashed it.
18:32And I think, yeah, that was the moment.
18:33I think everyone went, oh, wait a second.
18:35OK, here she is.
18:36Yeah, OK.
18:37Who's this?
18:38You actually posted on your socials, Bal, that things didn't go to plan in the dress rehearsal.
18:43What happened?
18:45I didn't make one of the lifts.
18:47I think I came out of it, like, sort of all crumpled and then ended up on the floor
18:50and didn't have the energy to come and pop through Jules' legs.
18:53So I just split my legs.
18:55And that's what you do, improvise.
18:57To be honest, hearing it back, I really feel like it needs a visual, like,
19:00it needs a video because otherwise hearing she needs to come through my legs,
19:04and, you know, it's just, I think, I don't know if the description quite nails it.
19:07The description doesn't really cover it.
19:09Well, it's time for an exclusive.
19:11Here's what people did not see.
19:13You split your trousers during the dress rehearsal, Jules.
19:17How worried were you that we might see your lucky pants on live telly?
19:21Yeah, I mean, the secret to the lucky pants is that only I know what they look like.
19:25Ah.
19:26You know?
19:27Because there's not much of it left.
19:28So, I'm just kidding.
19:30What?
19:31Just kidding.
19:32But, no, the worst part about that was that at that point it was like a friends and family,
19:37so there were a few people who had their kids around.
19:40Oh.
19:41Great.
19:42What a perfect time to, you know, to split your pants.
19:44But, it was fine.
19:45It was fine.
19:46I stood behind you.
19:47The wardrobe, yeah, Bal really helped me out.
19:49The wardrobe team were on it like a flash.
19:52Love it.
19:53And they double sewed that, I mean, I don't know anything about stitching, but like,
19:57Yeah.
19:58They did something.
19:59That thing was tight.
20:00It wasn't going anywhere.
20:01Listen, Vicky Gill and the team do not play around.
20:03Incredible.
20:04They were great.
20:05And good luck for this week.
20:07And praise to you, because you're through to movie week, where you'll be dancing a foxtrot
20:12to this.
20:13And the way you look.
20:15It's the way you look tonight by Frank Sinatra.
20:18You're doing Strictly's tribute to the golden oldie film, Swing Time.
20:22Team Ballyon channelling Fred and Ginger.
20:25How does it feel to channel such an iconic dance duo?
20:28I mean, yeah, that's quite a feat, right?
20:33But I think we just have to bring the kind of energy and essence of that golden era of
20:38Hollywood.
20:39This is you from yesterday.
20:40You look great.
20:41This is yesterday.
20:42Wow.
20:43I love the skirts they give us to play with.
20:45They're so cool, aren't they?
20:46And it does do, like, it sort of lifts the performance or, you know, your kind of,
20:50your training a bit because you've got something to play with and you can feel.
20:54You can feel the movement.
20:55Yeah, yeah.
20:56And Jules, this is Bal's first ballroom number.
20:58So what does she need to focus on this week?
21:00A lot.
21:01Everything.
21:02Feet.
21:03Feet.
21:04Posture.
21:05No, look, I think especially with it being Foxtrot and like what you just said in terms
21:09of, you know, we're paying tribute to Fred and Ginger.
21:11It, I think the biggest thing, we can talk about the frame, which is really important,
21:15the gapping, which, you know, is something that's big for Craig, the footwork, all that
21:18kind of stuff, but it needs that smoothness and that ease and that, you know, we want people
21:23at home to be like, ah, it needs that kind of effortless, what do we call it?
21:27Effortless chemistry.
21:28Chemistry.
21:29Oh, yeah, yeah.
21:30You know, Bal did some research and came back and I thought that that really hit the nail
21:33on the head.
21:34Yeah.
21:35I love it.
21:36It just gives you a glide along the floor.
21:37It just gives you a glide along the floor.
21:38Well, I can't wait to see the glide.
21:41Best of luck in movie week is Valvinda and Julian.
21:44Yes.
21:46Yes.
21:47Before we chat to Alex and Johannes about their leaderboard topping Samba, let's take a sneak
21:53peek at how they're doing in training, along with updates from Jimmy and Lauren, Lavoie
21:57and Aliash and Chris and Nadia.
21:59This week, I'm dancing the rumba.
22:03I think my main concern is arm movements.
22:06And four.
22:07Give me a point at me.
22:08Come on.
22:09Straight legs.
22:10Three.
22:11And four.
22:12We've had us practicing in socks today so Jimmy can feel every single movement and stay
22:17connected with the floor.
22:18I hope to achieve everything that I want to achieve out of this dance.
22:23The waltz is so much harder than I thought it was going to be.
22:30Close your feet.
22:32It's very important to remember when the feet close, when they cross.
22:36I still can't keep my legs closed.
22:38Why can I not close my feet?
22:40One, two.
22:41There's a lot to think about, but so far, Chris is smashing it.
22:44And three.
22:45Come here.
22:46Give me a hug.
22:47It's beautiful.
22:49This week, we are dancing the Paso Doble.
22:51It's a pretty serious dance.
22:53There's a lot of posture.
22:54There's a lot of standing up.
22:55Ballroom really suits Chris, but it's the Latin dance with the most structure.
23:01Eight.
23:02One.
23:03Everything is very rounded.
23:04There's so many things to get right.
23:06Elbow.
23:07He doesn't need to hold back because here he can just let it all out.
23:12One, two, three.
23:13The quick step is going actually surprisingly well.
23:17We're developing a sort of language.
23:19And you go outside your window.
23:21Mm-hmm.
23:22Now, we've started sort of doing a kind of sing-song approach.
23:26One, two, three.
23:27One, two, three.
23:29You know what, darling?
23:30Whatever works.
23:31Ding, ding, ding.
23:32Ding, ding, ding.
23:33Ding, ding, ding.
23:34Ding, ding, ding.
23:38It's Alex and Johannes!
23:40Thank you, Alex.
23:41Now, Alex, how does it feel to have danced what Shirley called one of the best sambas?
23:46I still can't quite...
23:48I can't quite digest that, to be perfectly honest, because I'm a real critic of myself,
23:54and I think I did better in rehearsal.
23:58Well, we saw what we saw, and we loved it.
24:02You know, that's what counts, right?
24:03Yeah.
24:04It's what happens on the night.
24:05Yes, it's what happens on the night.
24:06And, Johannes, the samba's your favourite dance.
24:08Yeah.
24:09But what was your favourite thing about teaching Alex?
24:11I think, you know, she surprised me, because I said to her, I said,
24:15something happens to you when we get onto that dance floor.
24:18You come to life, and I absolutely love it.
24:21And she might be a critic, but honestly, for me, I was just blown away,
24:26because she just matched me in energy, and that was just quite special.
24:31Yeah, you never know what's going to happen.
24:32That's exciting, though, isn't it?
24:33Yeah.
24:34You get out on the floor, and you're like, okay, bring it.
24:35Bring it.
24:36And she did.
24:37And you did.
24:38In week one, you scored 21.
24:39Mm-hmm.
24:40And then week two, 31.
24:41The highest score in dance of the night.
24:43I know.
24:44The joint highest score of the whole competition.
24:46That is major.
24:47Yeah, I know.
24:48I actually wasn't even aware of that.
24:51Mm-hmm.
24:52Because I just thought, I was combining the two weeks,
24:54so I thought, oh, we're sort of somewhere in the middle.
24:56And it was my husband, when I got home, he was like,
24:59you do realise you were top of the leaderboard?
25:01Tonight, yeah.
25:02I didn't have a clue.
25:03Oh, my God.
25:04That's it.
25:05You're so in the moment.
25:06Yeah.
25:07You were bringing it so much, you didn't even realise what was going on.
25:09No.
25:10I mean, it was pretty amazing to watch.
25:11Johannes, to what extent do you think you've got a frontrunner on your hands here?
25:16Oh, you know what, Flair?
25:18I do believe that every contestant in the show, given an opportunity, they will grow.
25:22But you do know when you have something special in your hands.
25:26Oh.
25:27And it's just how much she loves dance that motivates me to wake up in the morning.
25:32Like, every time I wake up, I'm with a smiling mouth on my face because I'm just like,
25:36I'm going to share what I love with somebody who also loves it.
25:40And it's been quite special to spend every day with her, honestly.
25:43Oh, that is beautiful.
25:44That's so lovely.
25:45And your goddaughter Vivian flew from America to Boreham Wood to support you.
25:50She did.
25:51Yes, she did.
25:52She was in tears.
25:53What did she make of it?
25:55She was so proud of me.
25:57I mean, she knows how much I like to dance because she's seen me, you know,
26:01moving around the house ever since she was little.
26:04But she was just super, super proud.
26:07And she knows the show because she lived with us for a year in England.
26:10And we always watch Strictly on a Saturday night.
26:13So she knows all the dancers.
26:15Johannes happens to be her favourite.
26:17Oh, wow.
26:18So she's just beyond.
26:20Yes.
26:21Well, congrats.
26:22You're through to movie week.
26:23And you're dancing a quick step to this.
26:25Suddenly I See by Katie Tunstall.
26:30A Strictly tribute to The Devil Wears Prada.
26:33Yes.
26:34And you said just moments ago, before we were on camera,
26:36that you're already channelling the Meryl Streep with your heels.
26:38I am so channelling.
26:40How does it feel to get into that role?
26:43Oh, it's lovely.
26:45I could just order Johannes around all day.
26:49It's been like that whole week.
26:51Well, you're used to being the teacher.
26:53Yeah.
26:54But was Alex taught you any acting tips?
26:56And can you reveal what character you'll be playing?
26:58Well, you know what?
26:59My character will be an amalgamation of Andrea, Emily and Stanley.
27:05Oh, wow.
27:06So I'm doing it all in one.
27:07All of them.
27:08But what has been absolutely amazing is that we are so...
27:12I don't know what is going on.
27:14I feel like I've known Alex for all my life.
27:16Because it's just so organic in rehearsals.
27:19I mean, we just did our VT and it will be revealed.
27:22But it was quite special.
27:23And the way we just fell into character, the both of us,
27:26because I think we're both fans of the movie.
27:28Yes, of course.
27:29And it's like it is.
27:30It's the Strictly's first.
27:32This is you today.
27:33Today.
27:34You're in action.
27:35Look at you.
27:36Looking very light on her feet there.
27:40I love it.
27:41Nice, nice, nice, nice.
27:42Boom, sha-la-la.
27:43It's beautiful.
27:44We've heard a message as well from Niamh in Glasgow.
27:46Niamh says your partnership is a pure joy to witness.
27:49What's something you've taught each other so far
27:51that you'll carry beyond the competition?
27:53Oh, my gosh.
27:55I would say that, I mean, Johannes' patience with me is just extraordinary.
28:05I mean, it knows no bounds, really.
28:08And so to sort of, for me, I have to take that patience on myself.
28:14And also I've learnt that I've got to put my ego in the cupboard and just accept everything he says
28:24and know that it's not, he's not challenging me personally.
28:29He's trying to actually, you know, challenge the journey.
28:34Yes.
28:35And that helps because it's quite tough.
28:38You know, it can be, you know, how tough and challenging it can be in the rehearsal room.
28:44And you have to just accept that the dance teacher that you have a professional is wanting you to do the best you possibly can.
28:52Exactly.
28:53Get the best out of you.
28:54Now, Jojo, we know how much you like to keep fresh.
28:57So here's a family pack of mints to keep you going in training.
29:02It's mints, not mints.
29:05Just for you, Claude, just to make that clear.
29:09Do you want to hold on to those?
29:11I will hold on to those.
29:12Thank you very much.
29:13We've kept the price on the back, so...
29:16Will you share them with Alex?
29:18Expensive.
29:19I expect to see those in every rehearsal room now.
29:21They'll be finished by tomorrow.
29:23You can use them in your Devil Wears Prada.
29:25Just pop them in as a challenge and you'll kind of go, that's all.
29:28And just breathe out the men.
29:30I honestly cannot wait to see it.
29:33Best of luck on Saturday.
29:35Alexandra Hannes.
29:38That's all for tonight.
29:39I'm back tomorrow to uncover all the backstage fun from Vicky and Kai,
29:42Karen and Carlos, and La Voix and Aliash.
29:45Plus, Vicky Gill is back with some Movie Week exclusives,
29:48all from 6.30 tomorrow.
29:50See you then.
