00:00Now, on BBC Two, you should be dancing, yeah?
00:26Please welcome your host, Jeanette Munrara.
00:30Action!
00:36Hello and welcome to Friday's It Takes Two.
00:40We are live on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:42It's movie week and we are so, so close to an action-packed weekend.
00:47And in just, let's see, 23 hours, 34 minutes and 28 seconds,
00:53our couples take to the dance floor for their starring roles.
00:56But for one unfortunate duo, the credits will roll on this Strictly journey.
01:00I can promise you, it's going to be a blockbuster.
01:03So, with no time to waste, let's see my star-studded lineup for this evening.
01:07She capped off the perfect birthday with a samba that flew her to the top of the combined leaderboard last Saturday.
01:13Tomorrow, Amber and Nikita will be doing a Sound of Music inspired American Smooth.
01:17But with her scores at 16 going to 17? We'll find out.
01:21We were transported to Cuba last week as Jimmy and Lauren shook their hips and transformed us to an amazing cha-cha-cha nightclub.
01:30But with the first Roomba of the series this weekend, inspired by James Bond, we'll be asking whether this routine is shaken, not stirred.
01:37And we're heading off to the training room to find out how George and Alexis and Vicky and Kai are getting picture perfect ahead of movie week.
01:46And as always, we want to hear from you.
01:48Do you want to know what Amber's dream role is? Or maybe Jimmy's favourite film?
01:52Get in touch by WhatsApp using our 0800-022-3801 number.
01:58But first, some breaking news. Due to illness over the past few days, Stefan Dennis has been advised by doctors to rest.
02:05And as a result, he will not dance this weekend.
02:08In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Diane will receive a bye through to next week,
02:13where they will hopefully be able to dance again.
02:16Stefan, we're sending you our best wishes and we can't wait to have you back soon.
02:20But now, back to tonight's show. Grab your popcorn, your big soda and get comfortable.
02:26It's time for the Strictly matinee everybody wants a ticket for.
02:30It's my Friday panel!
02:41He's a stand-up who used to be a bouncer and now he's letting us all in on his Strictly opinions.
02:47It's Emma Nolson-Ubi!
02:50She's a TV presenter and a former star of Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and even Neighbours.
02:55And tonight, she's getting on her soapbox.
02:57It's Sheree Murphy!
02:59And finally, she's a DJ and TV presenter and she's here to lay it all on the line.
03:05It's Lauren Layfield!
03:07Hello, hello. I love that we're already eating the popcorn.
03:11Hi!
03:12Right, there are still 13 couples who will be doing their Strictly tributes to some very, very famous films this weekend.
03:17They've all been rehearsing today in the ballroom.
03:19So let's crack on. Let's get into it.
03:21We're going to start with Harry and Karen. They're doing a salsa.
03:24They're going to be doing a tribute to Mufasa, the Lion King.
03:26Now, Sheree, his scores have improved from week one to week two.
03:30Will the salsa be the right dance to keep him on that upward trajectory?
03:34I think so, definitely. I feel like he is just loving every minute and you can tell that when you're watching at home.
03:41Yeah.
03:42You know, that's what I love about, you know, some of the Strictly contestants that you can really see that they're enjoying the whole experience.
03:48And I think this will be such a good dance for him. He's got that movement in his hips and stuff, so I think he'll smash it.
03:54And the lifts! I can't wait to see what lifts they're going to do!
03:56I know! That's so strong!
03:57So exciting!
03:58But, Emma, they are going to be playing in Lions this weekend. What do they have to do? What is their, like, kind of main thing they're going to have to do to get into character?
04:05Nice!
04:06Do you see? I mean, come on, I tried!
04:08You nailed that one.
04:09I think I did.
04:11For them, I think... Well, for him, he's used to performing and he's such a big character anyway.
04:17Yeah.
04:18I think he should just embrace that and go big.
04:21Yes, you're right.
04:22Let's go now to Alex and Johannes. They're going to be doing the quick step.
04:25Lauren, they're going to be doing Devil Wears Prada.
04:28Will this dance be a dance that will fashion them some points?
04:33I hope so. I think Alex was so unbelievable last week and she got scored really highly and it completely surprised her.
04:41And I think that she's just going to go into this week with so much more energy.
04:45I think she should bring a bit of Miranda Priestly, Meryl Streep kind of energy going into it.
04:51I think she should embody some character. We know that's what she does anyway for a living.
04:54And I just think this could be a week where she could really fly through.
04:57I think I just spat a bit of popcorn out there.
04:59Oh, don't worry. I'm sorry.
05:00We've got people to take care of that. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it.
05:02That flew up.
05:03We're going to go now to Karen and Carlos. They're doing a cha-cha-cha.
05:06Emmanuelle, she's going back to the Latin after her epic success with the Jive on week one.
05:12Will this be a hit or a miss congeniality?
05:15I think it's going to be an absolute hit. Karen's one of my absolute favourites.
05:20She was so nervous at the beginning and she came out and absolutely smashed it.
05:26So I'm looking forward to coming back and going back to Latin as well because she was really good.
05:30Yeah, she's got this intense focus. She really listens to Carlos.
05:33She really cares. Even though we're given the results before and she was waiting for them,
05:37you can see the nerves on her face how badly she wants to go through.
05:41She's doing amazingly well. Let's go now to Lavoie and Aliash.
05:44They're going to be doing a waltz, Mary Poppins.
05:47Sheree, you've spent years getting into character.
05:50So what advice would you give Lavoie?
05:52I don't think Lavoie needs any advice from me.
05:55I think she is fabulous and will get into character.
05:58I think this is definitely a dance for her.
06:00I just think you'll see that side of her personality.
06:04And it will just be... And the waltz as well.
06:06I just think it will suit her. 100%.
06:09I think I'm going to cry watching that one.
06:11I know.
06:12I'm going to get emotional. It's such a beautiful piece of music.
06:14Let's go now to Ellie and Vito. They're doing a samba.
06:16Now, Lauren, she floated like a butterfly last weekend, but can she sting like a Barbie?
06:22I mean, look at her in her wig already.
06:24She's getting into character with that wig already, wasting no time whatsoever.
06:29Listen, we've seen of Ellie that she is the most vivacious, fun person.
06:34You look back at like launch night and how excited she was to be there.
06:37And I think this song is just going to really tap into her, what she knows, her culture,
06:42you know, things happening around her age.
06:44And I think, oh, I just love her so much.
06:46I think she's absolutely brilliant.
06:48We get a lot of her personality, I think, on this one.
06:50But Cherie, it's a strictly tribute to an iconic part of the film,
06:53the whole disco dance scene. Does that add pressure to do it justice?
06:57I think it does a bit, but also because it's such an iconic scene,
07:00she will embrace that, do you know what I mean?
07:03I think she'll go for it because we all know that scene, you know?
07:06So I think, even though it is, you know, a bit of pressure,
07:09but I just think she'll nail it.
07:10She's going to bring us into her party.
07:12Absolutely.
07:13She's going to bring us onto her party.
07:14We're going to go now to George and Alexis.
07:16They're doing the first couple's choice of the series.
07:18It's the soda pop from K-pop Demon Hunters.
07:21Emanuel, your daughter is a huge fan of the film.
07:24Yes.
07:25How much faith do you have?
07:27Is it like an earworm?
07:29It's just there.
07:30I find myself humming it in the gym.
07:32Really?
07:33Which is, yeah.
07:34I get, yeah.
07:35People are looking at me weird because I get into it as well
07:37because I've heard it so many times.
07:38It's a banger.
07:39You start bouncing to it.
07:40It is a banger.
07:41You can't deny it's not a banger.
07:42It's a great song.
07:43The thing is though, will George get into it?
07:45Do you think he's going to do well?
07:46I think so.
07:47I think so.
07:48George, he's really...
07:50You can tell because he said he danced when he was a kid.
07:53And you can see a lot of that coming through.
07:55And I really think he's just let his power out.
07:58Yeah.
07:59He's going to do really well on this one.
08:00I think so too.
08:01I'm excited to see it.
08:02And Lauren, it is the first couple's choice in the series.
08:04It was a song that was number one as we've been hearing as well.
08:07What do you want to see from the dance?
08:09I mean, look, there's the George that I knew before the Paso
08:12and there's the George that I know now after the Paso.
08:14And I apologise to my husband,
08:16but I'm a changed woman since seeing that last week.
08:19But what I do want to see from George this week, I think is just,
08:22you know, we know he's really fun from everything that he does online.
08:25I think it has the ability to make or break you a little bit
08:29once you follow a really powerful performance.
08:32And I just want to see him commit 100% to the fun
08:34and show us that fun character that we know he is from all his online stuff.
08:37Yes.
08:38I didn't know he was...
08:39When he first came on, I didn't think he was going to be as good as he was.
08:42As good as he is.
08:43But that's what we love about Strictly is the surprises.
08:45And I think we're going to get loads this weekend.
08:47He's been incredible.
08:48He did this thing last week on his knees.
08:50Yeah.
08:51It's called the Paso.
08:52Oh, I saw it!
08:53I saw it!
08:54I thought you were.
08:55Speaking of Paso, we're going to talk about Ross and Evita now
08:57because they are doing a Paso Doble.
08:59Thunder...
09:00Thunderbirds.
09:01Sorry.
09:02I'm so excited about this.
09:03But Cherie, what will they need to do
09:05to ensure it's Thunderbirds a go on Saturday?
09:08I mean, it sounds funny when you say it's going to be Thunderbirds,
09:10so you sort of think it's going to be funny,
09:11but it's such a serious dance.
09:12It's a serious dance.
09:13It's a serious music as well.
09:14Yeah, serious.
09:15But I think...
09:16I mean, last week was really emotional.
09:18The week before, he was like a fun character.
09:20So it would be really good to see this side of his character
09:23if he can really bring it.
09:24I think he's going to bring it.
09:25Yeah, I do.
09:26Well, listen, we are done for now
09:28because we've got a few more couples to talk about later on.
09:30Let's hear it for our Friday panel.
09:35Next up tonight, they transported us to a Cuban vineyard
09:38with their charming cha-cha-cha.
09:40And rumour has it Lauren has been stunned by Jimmy's hip action.
09:44How do I know that?
09:45Well, I heard it through the grapevine.
09:47Let's remind ourselves.
09:51Those hips were swinging so much
09:53they were hitting the front row, darling.
09:56I would like for you to work on your leg action,
09:59but you've got a Latin feeling and we love it.
10:03Love it.
10:04This is how cha-cha's supposed to be.
10:06We said cha-cha-cha, you did cha-cha-cha.
10:08I like it.
10:09Thank you very much.
10:14It's Jimmy and Lauren, everybody.
10:17Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy.
10:19You look like you were really enjoying yourself on Saturday night.
10:22Are you starting to find your strictly rhythm?
10:24I was enjoying myself, actually.
10:26I think, yeah, it was a great moment.
10:32Nervous before.
10:34But I think when I started dancing, yeah, I really loved the dance.
10:42You did not look like you were nervous at all.
10:45You looked like you were having the time of your life.
10:48But let's talk about the legs, because Craig said that they were heavy.
10:52Monty said that they were earthy.
10:54Shirley said that they were grounded.
10:56I mean, we had loads of different descriptions for them.
10:58Were you intentionally keeping the legs soft?
11:01Were you wanting to get this more like cue belly version?
11:04It's week two.
11:05It's early days to kind of throw technique.
11:08We've got to build a foundation.
11:10And I saw on the Monday when we came in to do the cha-cha-cha, I saw the natural rhythm and the natural movement that Jimmy had.
11:17And I didn't want to sacrifice that for trying to straighten his legs.
11:22And I know it's more authentic of a cha-cha-cha to be like that anyway.
11:25So I wanted to really, really keep that for the routine because I wanted Jimmy to be comfortable.
11:30Yes.
11:31And that was the main, because he was so nervous the week before.
11:33Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:34I really wanted him to be comfortable.
11:35I'm not going to lie, I'm Cuban.
11:36And that is how we do it, baby.
11:37There we go.
11:38I liked it, I liked it.
11:39Thank you, thank you.
11:40You're welcome, Jimmy.
11:41You're welcome.
11:42All my family at home, we're like, woo!
11:44We've had an alter ego pop-up this weekend.
11:48Jaime came out to play.
11:50How beneficial was it to kind of take on a character?
11:52It was very beneficial.
11:54Nice.
11:55It was, it was.
11:57Lauren came up with it and I understood it.
12:00And it put me in a different persona.
12:03Yeah.
12:04And it helped me.
12:05It does.
12:06He's a footballer, you know.
12:07So for a footballer to go out there and feel like he's doing the cha-cha-cha,
12:10I didn't want him to feel, so we made an alter ego, didn't we?
12:13So you were in the zone.
12:14I was in the zone.
12:15She asked me, what is the equivalent of Jimmy in Spanish?
12:19I should have just called you, actually.
12:20You should have called me, I would have told you.
12:21Yeah, but Jaime is the one.
12:23I said.
12:24I liked Jaime.
12:25I really liked Jaime.
12:26I really liked Jaime.
12:27I really liked Jaime.
12:28Well, hopefully, if we stay long enough, Jaime will come back.
12:30Jaime will come back.
12:31There's a couple of the Latin's coming your way, so you've got to stick with it.
12:34We're going to move on to movie week.
12:37You're doing a rumba to this.
12:40There's just no time to die.
12:43No time to die, Billie Eilish.
12:46It will be the strictly tribute to James Bond, No Time to Die.
12:50You get to play another character.
12:52I know you're a huge fan of the Bond films anyway.
12:55Yeah.
12:56So, how excited are you about this one?
12:58I'm very excited to be Bond for one day.
13:02But then, on the other hand, it brings a lot of, like, challenges with it.
13:08Because now I have to act as well.
13:10Yes.
13:11Dancing is not my first thing, you know.
13:14So, a lot of things to think about.
13:17But I'm very excited to be Bond for one day.
13:20If Jaime is anything to go by, you're doing good.
13:22It's good, though.
13:23Because naturally, when he's a bit concentrated, he has that intense look.
13:26So, he kind of leans into that.
13:27And which Bond actor are you going to be channeling?
13:29There's only one, eh?
13:31Mr. Craig.
13:32Oh, yeah!
13:33I like Craig.
13:34I like him.
13:35Me too.
13:36Me too.
13:37Well, we thought we'd give you a little bit of a chance to give us your best impressionation
13:42of Craig and find your inner version.
13:44So, can you please look down the lens over here?
13:46And I'm going to ask for some music, please.
13:49My name is Bond.
13:52James Bond.
13:54I give you a ten, baby.
14:00Lauren, first Roomba of the series.
14:03Yes.
14:04Always a bit of pressure to do that.
14:05You've rehearsed it on the floor today for the first time.
14:08How did it go?
14:09Because it's an intimate dance on a big space.
14:10Yeah.
14:11I'm not going to lie.
14:12I was really nervous.
14:13I've never choreographed a Roomba on Strictly before.
14:15This is your first one.
14:16This is my first one.
14:17And I love the Roomba.
14:18It is beautiful.
14:19So, I really wanted to kind of like pay homage to the dance, pay homage to the movie
14:24and really create that.
14:25I said to Jimmy, let's create a bubble around us on the dance floor and draw everyone into us.
14:31Yes.
14:32And I feel like we managed to do that today.
14:34But today is today and tomorrow is tomorrow.
14:35So, I've got everything across for tomorrow.
14:37Okay.
14:38Well, we've got a question that's come in for you all.
14:40Let's see what we've got here.
14:41This is from, oh, Alfie, age seven.
14:44Alfie!
14:45And Alfie's from the Isle of Wight and he's asking, Jimmy, what is harder to learn?
14:50Dancing or football?
14:52A hundred percent dancing.
14:54A hundred, without a doubt, dancing.
14:57It is, I've got so much respect for all the professionals and everybody who wants to learn dancing.
15:06It's so much fun.
15:07Totally different than football.
15:09Football is easy.
15:10You just go on the pitch and you just run after people, you kick a few, you know.
15:15Well, Alfie, I think you should try both.
15:16Give it a go.
15:17Both of them, yeah?
15:18Shall we?
15:19But good luck to the two of you with the rumba tomorrow.
15:21I can't wait to see you on that floor.
15:24Jimmy and Lauren, everybody.
15:25Okay, Craig, did you enjoy that interview?
15:31I loved, loved, loved that.
15:34Good.
15:35Just like Amber and Nikita Samba on Saturday.
15:38Let's remind ourselves.
15:42You have the most amazing body rhythm I have seen in a while.
15:47Well done.
15:50As you move forward, I'd like to see more seamless transitions.
15:53So when you're spinning, I don't want to be able to tell that each foot is going.
15:56I want it more smooth.
15:58I loved, loved, loved that.
16:01Yes!
16:05Give it up for Amber and Nikita.
16:08Top of the leaderboard last weekend.
16:11What a birthday present that must have been for you.
16:13How did you feel on Saturday?
16:14I forgot that happened.
16:17You know, and then they said, let's look at the leaderboard.
16:19And I thought, oh, let's look at it.
16:21Let's see what happens.
16:22Where are we?
16:23And I could not.
16:24I was looking for Nikita.
16:25I thought, oh, we're at the top.
16:27But it was a gorgeous surprise.
16:29So you were looking for Nikita, but not yourself.
16:31No.
16:32I was like, where's Nikita?
16:33We're at the top.
16:34And how good does it feel to get off to such a strong start after being thrown into the deep and literally of Strictly Come Dancing?
16:40It's a dream.
16:41It's a dream.
16:42This whole thing is now settling in.
16:45This is a process.
16:46I'm doing it.
16:47I'm having this experience with Nikita.
16:49So I'm just trying to work as hard as I possibly can.
16:54And it's nice to see the work pay off.
16:57Yes.
16:58Of course it is.
16:59And Nikita, the judges were full of praise for Amber, but they did offer some very constructive criticism as well.
17:04Does that give you a bit of an indicator that they have faith in Amber's ability?
17:09Yeah, I think so.
17:10I mean, like, we want to hear the criticism.
17:13Criticism?
17:14Criticism.
17:15Very good.
17:16Wow, that was great.
17:17First word I've said and I already messed it up.
17:19That's fantastic.
17:20Well done, me.
17:21No, honestly, yes.
17:23Like, the feet work, especially.
17:25Anton and Sherlyn Motta, they all said about the feet work.
17:27And that's what we tried to focus as much as we could this week.
17:31Yeah.
17:32All the little, you know, all the little heel turns and all the little things.
17:36She loves them.
17:37Let's focus on Samba first.
17:38Samba.
17:39Because we're excited about what just happened.
17:40Samba.
17:41Samba was great.
17:42We're going to focus on Samba as well.
17:43People work on Samba, yes.
17:44I need to swap the feet work.
17:46Swap them.
17:47Yes, exactly.
17:48It's totally different.
17:49But I want to talk more about Celebrate the Samba because it really was so sensational.
17:53And you got some amazing comments.
17:54You also gained a very rare accolade because you got a higher score from Craig than you did the other judges.
18:00That's only happened eight other times in Strictly history.
18:03I know.
18:04And the last time was Angela Rippon a couple of years ago when she did the Charleston.
18:07Oh.
18:08Yeah.
18:09That was the last time it's happened.
18:10So it doesn't happen often.
18:12But after getting the eight from Craig and then getting the sevens from the rest of the judges, was that a bit of a disappointment?
18:17Kept us humble, didn't it?
18:19Kept us really humble.
18:21I thought we were humble already.
18:23Should you answer that?
18:24Look at us.
18:25Amber said that very quickly.
18:26I said that on my chest.
18:27I think she was desperate.
18:28It was...
18:29I wasn't expecting an eight.
18:31You weren't expecting an eight?
18:32No.
18:33No.
18:34So the fact that we got one from Craig, you know, was like, oh my goodness, what is happening?
18:40So when the sevens came, I thought, oh, okay.
18:42That's what I thought.
18:43You thought, why?
18:45Excuse me?
18:46Excuse me?
18:47Okay.
18:48Well, now we can move on to this week.
18:49You're through to movie week and you're going to be doing a Strictly tribute to The Sound of Music.
18:53Yes.
18:54It's an American smooth foxtrot to a version of this.
18:57You are 16, going on 17.
19:0016, going on 17.
19:02You rehearsed it for the first time in the ball.
19:05Better than we.
19:06Still rehearsing on the couch yet?
19:09Yeah, yeah.
19:10But you were in the studio today for the first time.
19:11How did it go?
19:12Yes.
19:13Do you know what?
19:14I find as soon as we step foot in the studio, it's very disorientating.
19:17It's so disorientating.
19:18Because you're rehearsing in one space or maybe two spaces for the routine in the week,
19:23when you get into the studio and all the lights and the people, you panic a little bit.
19:30Yeah.
19:31And with our routine as well, because we have so much going on.
19:35Like it's all the placing of the feet and we have so, they want to spoil too much.
19:39Yeah.
19:40But there is everything going on.
19:41There's a line there.
19:42So if you mess up a little foot, it's done.
19:43Yeah.
19:44It can easily be hard to disorient yourself.
19:45Yeah.
19:46Yeah.
19:47I was cornered into a false sense of security by Nikita because he told me that the Samba is the hardest out of everything.
19:54And that was incorrect.
19:57Are you saying?
19:58She wouldn't lie to you.
20:00Lies were told.
20:02Why is the Foxtrot so difficult?
20:04What are you finding so difficult?
20:06At the start of the week, I found it impossible, didn't I?
20:10Yeah.
20:11And it's walking.
20:12We didn't like the feather step at all.
20:13She didn't like the feather step.
20:14No, no.
20:15There was tears involved.
20:16There was tears for the feather step.
20:17Well, at least there were feathers in it to help you dry them off.
20:19Yeah.
20:20Nice.
20:21You're welcome.
20:22But Nikita, let's talk about the building foundations that you were so adamant about at the weekend.
20:26The floors, the walls, the roof.
20:28Where are we now in the American Smooth?
20:30Well, we have now the windows and we have the benches.
20:34Oh, benches.
20:35So we are progressing.
20:36Okay.
20:37Yes.
20:38We are progressing and hopefully they will try something.
20:39And do we have something else?
20:40And we have a bike.
20:42Oh, bike.
20:43Bikeography.
20:44You have bikeography.
20:45Yes.
20:46Amber knows my choreography better than me.
20:47No wonder she was crying.
20:49Did you tell her that on Monday she would have bikeography as well?
20:52I kept it for Thursday.
20:53Oh, you kept it for Thursday just to do a little.
20:56Yeah, drop things in over the week and you need to do this and you need to do this.
20:59And you need to do that.
21:00And yeah.
21:01But you're doing so great.
21:02I've loved it.
21:03Look at it this way.
21:04He believes in you.
21:05He does.
21:06You're amazing.
21:07Amber is the best, genuinely.
21:09It's just that, you know, like when you go into the room and the student, which is your
21:14partner at the same time, actually wants to suck up all the information that you have
21:19and is taking all of it in, writing it down in this favorite book of ours, which is bigger
21:24than the Bible.
21:25It's humongous and just ask questions and questions.
21:28Then who goes home to rehearse.
21:30I do homework.
21:31And then she tells me about her left elbow in her dream.
21:34I'm like, Jesus.
21:35You see, you just met and it's going great.
21:37This is going to be amazing this weekend.
21:39I can feel it.
21:40Well, good luck to the two of you.
21:41I hope it goes well.
21:42Let's hear it for Amber and Nikita.
21:43Yay!
21:44Right.
21:45There's nothing better than a Saturday night at the moon.
21:51Oh, yes.
21:52And here's how George and Alexis and Vicky and Kai got on in training as they aim to put
21:57their names in lights.
21:59This week, we're doing a couple's choice.
22:02Every detail and every step matters.
22:05Chest.
22:06I'm struggling with something called a reverse wave.
22:09I'm nervous.
22:10I can't make it cool.
22:12Ew.
22:13I'll take it.
22:14Don't.
22:15Is that all good?
22:23The Charleston is fast.
22:25It requires like a lot of steps, quite compact ones in a very speedy fashion.
22:30Stamina is really important in this dance.
22:32So we're constantly running the routine so that we're performance ready for the weekend.
22:37I wish my stamina was where it should be.
22:40I really like me sofa and sausage rolls.
22:43I'm just having a second.
22:44OK.
22:49Welcome back to my Friday panel.
22:51Woo!
22:52Right.
22:53Let's go straight in.
22:54We've got half of them to go still.
22:55Lewis and Katia, Paso Doble, The Mask of Sorro.
22:59Cherie, he's made a really strong start to the competition the last couple weeks.
23:03How much will the Paso Doble suit him, do you think?
23:06I think, to be honest, I think any dance will suit him.
23:09But this will be, I should just tell, it's going to be incredible.
23:13Yes.
23:14Incredible.
23:15Obviously, he's had a really strong start.
23:16And I know the judges have been a little bit nitpicky with him because he's so good.
23:20But he's so good.
23:21He's so good.
23:22I know.
23:23But I feel like when they do nitpick him, I just want to go, leave him alone.
23:25He's so good.
23:26But I just think he'll be, again, incredible.
23:29It's really going to suit him.
23:30Yeah.
23:31But, Manuel, the feedback from the judges is about the technique, technique, technique,
23:34the refinement.
23:35They want him to soften things up a bit.
23:37What do you think he needs to focus on, though, for the Paso Doble?
23:40The performance, especially like the Zorro.
23:43Yes.
23:44And they say soften up.
23:45The Paso Doble, you can't soften that.
23:48Go in strong with that one.
23:50Yeah.
23:51I think he's really going to channel the character.
23:53Let's go to another Paso Doble, Chris and Nadia.
23:56This one is Thor-themed.
23:58He's going to be the god of thunder.
24:00How much do you think this suits him?
24:01I mean, look at him.
24:03Look at him, Jeanette.
24:04He already looks.
24:05Like, is it Chris Hemsworth?
24:06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
24:07He literally, look, all he needs is, like, a wig and one of those chest plate things.
24:12And he's away.
24:13He's ready for this.
24:14And I think, like, last week he had, like, you know, not the greatest of scores.
24:17He's been kind of, like, hovering down the bottom.
24:19And I just think, come on, Chris.
24:21You've got this.
24:22Be cool.
24:23You can do this, Chris.
24:24You bring the thunder.
24:25Just be the superhero that I know you are.
24:27I know you are.
24:28Exactly.
24:29But, Cherie, he escaped the dance-off last week.
24:31He did.
24:32Which is always really scary for anyone.
24:34Could this be the perfect dance to come back with?
24:36I think so.
24:38But what I just don't want to happen is that he takes, you know, last week and it still plays on his mind.
24:43Yeah.
24:44That's the only thing I think might let him down.
24:45But I think it's such a good dance for him.
24:46It's a fighting dance.
24:47It is a fighting dance.
24:48And I really hope he does.
24:49Me too.
24:50Do well.
24:51Well, let's move on now to Belvinda and Julie.
24:53And they're doing a Foxtrot Swing Time.
24:55Emmanuelle, her first ballroom of the series.
24:58How do you think she's going to fare with the Foxtrot?
25:00Look at her.
25:01I mean, this is someone who's been preparing for this for, like, 20 years.
25:05Like, she's been ready.
25:08I think she's good.
25:10Like, it's going to be fun.
25:11And plus, the other ones are so high energy.
25:13Yeah.
25:14She gets to relax and be a lot smoother with one.
25:16I feel like we're getting lots of light and shade from her, aren't we?
25:18Yeah.
25:19Yeah.
25:20And Sheree, what have you been most impressed with Val so far?
25:22I think it's just her commitment.
25:24Obviously, she's a massive fan of the show.
25:26And I feel like she's living the Strictly dream.
25:28Do you know what I mean?
25:29So, I'm just impressed with everything about her.
25:31She's enthusiastic.
25:33She's been amazing.
25:34And I just think she's just going to carry on being stronger and stronger and stronger every week.
25:39So, no, I really like her.
25:40I'm excited to see this side of her as well.
25:42Yeah.
25:43This kind of, like, classy version.
25:44Yeah.
25:45All right, let's go on to Vicky and Kai.
25:46They're doing a Charleston.
25:47Lauren, she has struggled with nerves every single week so far.
25:50But she's getting great scores.
25:52So, do you think that a great Gatsby-inspired Charleston is the dance to finally get her to just relax?
25:57I mean, look at her.
25:58It doesn't look relaxing, that, does it?
25:59No.
26:00Do you know what I mean?
26:01It's not quite the relaxing dance.
26:02However, I think after her scores last week, she'll be feeling, and should be feeling, really, really confident and enthused this week.
26:09Yes.
26:10I think for her to go and do a fun dance, get that Geordie spirit going, I think this could be a really, really good week for her.
26:16Yeah.
26:17I would love to see her just go up a little bit more of it.
26:18Yeah, me too.
26:19But, Cherie, Vicky is such a bundle of energy.
26:21Yeah.
26:22Do you think this kind of bubbly-ness is going to go well with the energy that's required for Charleston?
26:26Yeah, I do.
26:27I think because she's so nervous, and that is the worst thing, is having those nerves and know what it's like.
26:32It's just horrible.
26:33But I think with this, because it's so high energy, and she looks like she's got loads of energy to give, doesn't she?
26:39Yeah.
26:40That hopefully it will be...
26:41I don't know.
26:42I mean, even looking at the rehearsal, she looks great.
26:43She's got a smile from either ear, so she looks like she's enjoying herself.
26:46And she can dance.
26:47She can dance.
26:48She's a good dancer.
26:49Yeah.
26:50And Lauren, the Roomba, first one of the series.
26:53Emmanuel, it is the first one, but do you think this dance is going to suit him?
26:57Is he going to be able to get that target of the Roomba that he needs?
27:00Yeah, I do.
27:02I mean, even now, look at his lines.
27:04It's actually...
27:05And the concentration in his face, and his hips are going as well.
27:08They're like Shakira's.
27:09They're just spitting truth.
27:11But the hips have been amazing, because last week he had incredible hips, the cha-cha-cha.
27:16Yeah.
27:17He should transfer over into the Roomba this week, surely.
27:20I reckon so.
27:21His hips hurt me last week watching that.
27:24Yeah, and Cherie, your husband Harry, he was a former teammate of Jimmy.
27:29Yes.
27:30But what do you make of the partnership of Jimmy and Lauren?
27:32I think they've got, like...
27:33I mean, even you could see before when they were together that I think they've got a really good...
27:37Like, really good chemistry, and Jimmy just looks like he is having an absolute ball.
27:42Yeah.
27:43And I think anything that they, you know, you guys throw at Jimmy, he's going to do it.
27:46And he's going to do it, like, with all his heart.
27:48Yeah.
27:49And he really wants to change the conversation about footballers not doing well with the dancing.
27:52Do you think he's doing that?
27:53Absolutely.
27:54And he's good.
27:55Yeah.
27:56He's really good.
27:57So I don't think we have to worry about Jimmy.
27:58Do you know what I like about Jimmy?
27:59He sits there, and he listens to Lauren.
28:00He listens to me.
28:01He's walking in the room, and then all of a sudden, Jaime takes over.
28:04Like, what happened?
28:05What is going on?
28:07Right, let's go on to Amber and Nikita.
28:10They are doing an American Smooth.
28:11We just spoke to them then.
28:12Lauren, she's at the top of the leaderboard so far in the competition.
28:16What are you expecting this week from this American Smooth?
28:19I mean, surely the only way is up now for Amber.
28:23She has just come in like a duck to water.
28:26She is so marvellous already.
28:28Is she still?
28:29Is she still around?
28:30Amber, Amber, I love you.
28:32I love you.
28:33I just think you're amazing.
28:34If you're still here, I think you're brilliant.
28:35I just think she's absolutely extraordinary.
28:38Yes.
28:39And, you know, there's those people who say, well, she's done musical theatre.
28:41I mean, you don't just pick that up.
28:43You don't do a feather step.
28:44Like she said, she struggled with it.
28:46Absolutely.
28:47But if not, she's used to performing on stage, like Lauren said then.
28:49How big of an impact do you think that's going to be for her on Movie Week?
28:51For this week, I think it's going to be huge,
28:53because she's musical theatre and this is musical theatre at its finest.
28:58Yeah.
28:59OK.
29:00Guys, the time has come.
29:01It is now time for a plot twist.
29:05Who do you think is going to be cut from the competition this weekend?
29:09Emanuel.
29:13Hit me.
29:14Ross!
29:15Oh, Ross!
29:16I feel so bad about this one.
29:18Chris and Nadia!
29:20Oh, gosh, Lauren.
29:21Oh, gosh, Ross and Evita.
29:23So that's two for Ross and Evita.
29:24I actually feel so bad.
29:25Don't feel bad.
29:26We will find out what's going to happen.
29:27No, I feel really bad, because I went with the big Ross like they do,
29:30because every time they do the scores,
29:32it doesn't matter how low it is, they'll go,
29:34two!
29:35He's going to bring it with a pass,
29:36so give it up for the Friday panel, everyone.
29:39That's it for tonight.
29:40Thanks to all my guests.
29:41Fleur will be back on Monday with the second couple to be eliminated this series.
29:45Plus, Neil Jones is in Choreography Corner.
29:48And don't forget to tune in to Tess and Claudia on BBC One at 5 past 6 tomorrow night.
29:53For now, have a great weekend, everybody.
29:55Bye-bye.
29:56We'll see you next time.
