00:00Please welcome your host, Fleur East.
00:30Hello, and welcome to your Tuesday edition of It Takes Two on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:37It's only Tuesday, but we know you are already missing the sequence, sparkle and shiny celebs.
00:43And of course, we're It Takes Two, and we can't have you going a day without your Strictly Bill.
00:49So here's what we have coming up for you tonight.
00:53Lavoie's heartfelt waltz left her flying high on Saturday night.
00:57Chris and Aliash are here to chat us through how they're still pecking away at perfecting that technique and talking us through their nest step.
01:07And Miss Congeniality's high energy cha-cha-cha was a hit with all of the judges apart from Craig.
01:14We'll be discussing the claims that Kaz was criminally undermarked shortly.
01:17Maybe we will need an FBI agent after all.
01:20And Neil Jones is back.
01:24He's here to talk us through his thoughts on our remaining couples from Saturday night.
01:30Now, despite gliding through movie week with a classy foxtrot, Balvinda and Julian found themselves in the dreaded dance-off for the first time.
01:38But like any good movie, they're already planning their sequel comeback.
01:41Someday, be still my beating heart.
01:47Lovely dancing that was.
01:49You have a wonderful hold of what music can do to the body.
01:53And when you listen to it, we can see it.
01:56The held moments just need to be a little softer.
01:59But it was elegant.
02:01It had grace, my darling.
02:02And much more confidence.
02:04Please welcome Balvinda and Julian.
02:11Now, before we get into the dance-off, let's start with Saturday night, okay?
02:15So, this was Bal's first ballroom, Jules.
02:17How impressed were you with her performance?
02:19I was really impressed, especially because of the first, you know, ballroom dance that we had was foxtrot,
02:23which, you know, is one of the harder ballroom dances.
02:27I mean, in, you know, for example, in a waltz, you have rise and fall, but you can actually rise and fall.
02:31Whereas in foxtrot, you know, you need to be much smoother and much more progressive along the floor.
02:36But, and also, the character that we have, you know, Fred and Ginger, two absolute icons in an iconic time.
02:44But I thought you were absolutely stunning.
02:47I just had so much fun.
02:50Yeah.
02:50To the point where, you know, when we had to go in for the dance-off, I was actually like, oh, you know what?
02:54I'm actually kind of chuffed we get to do this again.
02:56Yeah, we get to do it again.
02:57Let's go again.
02:58She was stunning.
02:59Absolutely stunning.
02:59Well, elegance, grace, class, charm, that's how the judges described your foxtrot.
03:04Even though the technique didn't quite land, how proud are you that you still brought the emotion out in the performance?
03:10Yeah, I'm very proud.
03:11When I watched it back, I thought it looked absolutely beautiful.
03:15We played the parts really beautifully.
03:18I think audiences connected with it as well.
03:20You know, there was a real warmth to the foxtrot.
03:23And it was beautiful to dance as well.
03:26Like, I felt like we were connected.
03:29You were definitely connected.
03:30Someone went a bit.
03:31It was lovely.
03:32Craig even picked up on your improved confidence on the dance floor.
03:35Have you felt that as well?
03:36Yes, I think so.
03:37I think each week it gets slightly easier because you kind of know the formula now.
03:42Confidence-wise.
03:43Confidence-wise.
03:44No, look, it's been six years since I've been on stage, you know, and so to kind of come and do something like this was really scary at first.
03:57But, yeah, I think the more you do it, the more comfortable you get with the fact that there's audiences there.
04:01They're there to cheer you on.
04:02They want to see you do well.
04:04And all you've got to do is just go out there and dance.
04:06And I love it.
04:07Every single night, Jules is like, well, every single Saturday, Jules is like, it's just me and you, pal.
04:11It's just me and you.
04:12It just, it makes my night.
04:14Well, it's all about the experience that you have, right?
04:16And if you're enjoying it, then we enjoy it with you.
04:19And a lot of people online have all the confidence in you.
04:22Amy said this.
04:24Hugely and unnecessarily critiqued and massively underscored.
04:28Bao was sensational.
04:29I had tears in my eyes.
04:30Beautiful dance.
04:32There's a lot of emotion.
04:33Well, what's the support been like since the weekend?
04:36It's been incredible, actually.
04:38My phone was on fire with messages of support and, you know, people disagreeing with the outcome,
04:48which kind of restored a little bit of confidence in me, you know, that we are hitting all the right tones with the public,
04:56which is a great thing.
04:58I think people thought that we were safe, which is maybe why they didn't vote for us.
05:03But, you know, at the same time, there's always going to be two couples in the bottom.
05:08And you just never know, you know, which way it's going to go.
05:12And at the end of the day, it's about, you know, how you kind of take on those challenges and those hurdles.
05:17And, yeah, I thought we handled it really well.
05:20I think we handled it really well.
05:22We were weirdly really calm.
05:23I was actually more stressed about the fact that Bao was calm because I was like, either she is pumped, she's ready to go,
05:30or it's absolutely fallen apart.
05:34No.
05:34I didn't know which way it was, but deep down I knew that we were going to just go out there and just do our thing.
05:40So let's look ahead, where you'll be dancing a Paso, to this.
05:45Diablo Rojo, Rodrigo y Gabriela.
05:48Wow, I can feel the vibes already.
05:51It's early days, but what are your thoughts on the Paso so far, Bao?
05:54Yeah, I mean, it's hot.
06:00It's passionate and fiery and strong and bold, and it's got a lot of attitude.
06:07And I'm looking forward to bringing that.
06:10What a dance for us to come back with.
06:13You know what I mean?
06:14Like, obviously, I thought we did really well with the Foxtrot, we danced beautifully, but even character-wise,
06:19we want to come back fighting, and we want to show everyone that we want to be here, that we deserve to be here,
06:24and I just don't think there's a better dance or song, really, that we could have gotten.
06:28It's the perfect style. Perfect style for it.
06:29And footwork and technique were a big thing for the judges, especially Shirley, on Saturday.
06:34So how are you approaching this with Bao in training to master that?
06:40So I'm just being really, really, really tough.
06:45Really? Yeah.
06:46So we're just approaching it from every different angle, but it's about just repetition, repetition, repetition.
06:53And, you know, it's just going through every single foot position in the routine and being really pedantic with it.
06:59Sometimes, I dare say, my Aussie attitude gets a little bit like, yeah, it's coming, it's coming.
07:04But I have to, like, I'm like, yeah, wait, wait, wait, no!
07:06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
07:07Yeah!
07:07So I just have to, like, let's go, channel a bit of, yeah, a bit more fire.
07:12Yeah, last week it was about bringing the effortless chemistry.
07:15So what are you bringing to this week?
07:17Some fiery passion.
07:19A hundred percent, yeah.
07:20Yeah, fiery passion.
07:22Honestly, I can see it in your eyes, actually.
07:24I can see both of you are, like, you're, like, ready, ready and charged.
07:27I cannot wait.
07:28Good luck with training.
07:29It's Balbinder and Julian!
07:30CHEERING
07:31CHEERING
07:31Our next guest delivered a beautiful waltz that opened up a different side of themselves on the dance floor,
07:40proof that it's not all about the jokes and laughter.
07:42Just like us, here are it takes two.
07:44Super serious, full of emotion, absolutely no time for jokes.
07:48Isn't that right, Neil?
07:49Brr!
07:50Brr!
07:51Brr!
07:53Brr!
07:53Brr!
07:53Brr!
07:53Let's remind ourselves of Lavoie and Aliash's dance.
07:58Shoo!
07:58Shoo!
07:59Brr!
08:00Brr!
08:00Brr!
08:00I think you are so real and authentic.
08:05And in whatever way you put yourself on the dance floor, I think you're beautiful.
08:09I watched you just take the risk and be really, really vulnerable tonight.
08:14And that is something special that you now know that you have.
08:17When you give us this serious side, it adds so many layers to your performances.
08:22It was beautiful.
08:25It's Chris and Aliash!
08:28What a stunning performance.
08:30Four sevens as well.
08:32Lavoie's highest score yet!
08:33Yes!
08:34Yes!
08:34Yes!
08:35It was nice to watch that back.
08:38It was a beautiful moment.
08:39She really stripped it all back for last week.
08:42What did you make of the performance?
08:44I think she did very, very well.
08:46The grey hair.
08:47Oh, the grey hair.
08:48The raggy clothes.
08:49She could have thrown a strop, do you know what I mean?
08:51But luckily, you know, she...
08:53I think she pulled...
08:54I think it was a very, very big challenge for her.
08:56I think we all saw that.
08:57And I think she worked really hard to get the simplicity and the beauty across.
09:02Do you think it worked?
09:03A hundred percent.
09:04I think it more than worked.
09:05And I was always kind of, like, wondering if and when to do that.
09:09And I felt like week three of the competition, obviously, very lucky that we still get to do it.
09:14But that was, I think, like, the perfect time to try and sort of attempt that.
09:18And I think it went more than well.
09:19Yes, the song, the dance, everything was, like, the perfect time.
09:22I'm trying to be really serious and beautiful, but it could have gone really wrong with CGI pigeons around.
09:26I thought, oh, no, it could have gone very wrong at any moment.
09:30What CGI pigeons?
09:31All of a sudden, you know, she's gone.
09:33Yeah, what CGI?
09:33Yeah, no, sorry, real pigeons.
09:35Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:35Real pigeons.
09:36We're still in the studio.
09:37We're trained for hours.
09:38Well, as well as getting into character, you focused a lot on the technique last week.
09:42Aliash, how much do you think putting all the focus on the finer details paid off out there on the dance floor?
09:47I think putting an effort into finer details pays off every single week onto the dance floor.
09:52I mean, whatever dance you do, you've got to start at the technique.
09:55Sorry, I keep looking there because it's going to happen, but did I miss it?
09:58Yeah, I was going to say, speaking of focus, you missed it.
10:01I missed it.
10:01Oh, you're the reading out thing.
10:03Yeah, we really went to town on it as well.
10:05He really helped him with his reading as well.
10:07Should we do it again?
10:08Should we put it up for you again, Aliash?
10:10Yeah, go on.
10:11You missed it.
10:11You can't miss it.
10:12There you go.
10:13We mustache him questions about that.
10:18We mustache him.
10:19Nice.
10:20See, that's why I've got it.
10:21I missed it.
10:22Do you know what?
10:23Every single dance on Strictly, you've got to focus on technique, but especially when it gets to ballroom.
10:28I always like to say you've got to build from the foundations up.
10:31And technique in ballroom benefits the whole picture more than you can imagine.
10:36And being neat with your feet, closing your feet, and, you know, opening your feet when you need.
10:41It really helps with the frame, it helps with dynamic, it helps with everything.
10:46And I'm so glad that we did that.
10:49And with waltz, it's not the easiest, but because it's the slowest, you can kind of, you know, really notice all of those moments.
10:56Yes, you're more exposed.
10:58Exactly.
10:58So that's why it was good, because then the judges noticed, and I was really, really glad that they did.
11:02Well, Aliash, before we move on to the next dance, we need to talk about this.
11:05Yeah, that's not me.
11:09That's actually not me.
11:10That's actually Jason Momoa.
11:12Well, the thing is, you actually really look quite like him there.
11:15Yeah.
11:15I mean, look, I was very, very pleased when they told me that I'm going to be doing this role.
11:22But then I sort of asked myself why.
11:24And I think it's because I'm basically a body double of Jason Momoa.
11:29Yes.
11:29You know, so I think great casting.
11:32I mean, you can go from him to a pigeon like that.
11:34Yeah.
11:34And that's why you're booked and versatile.
11:36The versatility.
11:37Versatility.
11:38This is it.
11:38OK, moving on to next week, you're dancing a cha-cha-cha to this.
11:43Hit me with your best shot.
11:45Pat Benatar, hit me with your best shot.
11:48What a song.
11:49Now, you said the waltz was a hard dance to master.
11:52How's the cha-cha-cha comparing?
11:54Well, this could be dangerous, because there's moves in this choreography.
11:57If it goes wrong, one of us could be knocked out.
11:59Oh.
12:00Because we're taking hit me with your best shot within the choreography.
12:02Literally.
12:03There is drops to the floor.
12:05You're going to see acrobatics from you.
12:08I'm making this up now.
12:09You better put some in that choreography.
12:11It's going to be wonderful.
12:12Why would you say that, though?
12:13We're going to do it.
12:14We've got to build the journey.
12:15People are going to expect it now.
12:16It's all about the journey.
12:16LaVoie will want the journey.
12:18She's thrilled to be through this week, because it gets her off jury service she was booked for.
12:22So she's really happy.
12:23But LaVoie's dance partner can't do those things.
12:26Yes, he can.
12:27Yes, he can.
12:28Shirley said that she thinks LaVoie is going to unleash a whole new power on this competition.
12:33What powers can we expect, Aliash?
12:34Oh, my gosh.
12:35I'm genuinely worried, actually.
12:38Because the dance and the story of the dance, like Chris just said, it is very, very intense.
12:48I think that's the best way to put it.
12:50And if you kind of do one move too soon or one move too late, it can be seriously dangerous.
12:55Yes, so keep on my right side.
12:56For anyone, yeah.
12:58There's a lot of jeopardy in this.
12:59It is.
12:59I'm shaking, actually.
13:01And you're dancing to an 80s classic.
13:03How are you going to make sure that you hit the dance floor with your best shot?
13:07Right.
13:07We are going to unleash glamour and fabulousness, 80s style, this week.
13:12No more grey hair wigs.
13:13Okay.
13:14She's going to bring out the glamour.
13:15Maybe Tess and Claudie need to step up their game this week, because LaVoie's going to really knock it out the park.
13:20Oh, I am thrilled.
13:22I cannot wait to see this.
13:24And the acrobatics as well.
13:25Yes.
13:26Good luck in training.
13:28It's Chris and Aliash.
13:30We've said it now.
13:35With so much action on Saturday night, who better to break down all the moves than the pro who's done them all?
13:40He's back to chat through our remaining couples.
13:42It's Neil Jones in Choreography Corner.
13:44It's Neil Jones, everyone.
14:05Nice to see you back in normal attire, taking the show seriously.
14:08Of course.
14:09As you should.
14:10Let's talk about Saturday night's dancers, Chris and Nadia, and their Paso.
14:13Last week, Motsi wanted Chris to have an alter ego.
14:17And this week, he embodied the character of Thor.
14:19How do you think the characterisation helped him this week?
14:22I actually think it is so important for Chris to have an alter ego.
14:26I think it's brilliant, because he really got into the character.
14:28You see him there.
14:29For someone that's an athlete, what happens is they concentrate way too much on what they've got to do.
14:36Here, he's not.
14:36You can see it in his face.
14:38He's adding that character to his dance, which improves the performance.
14:41And that's what we've been missing so far.
14:43So I think that's really good.
14:44And I want to see him with more characters every week.
14:47And I think that could be good for him.
14:48OK, that could be the secret poison they mean.
14:51The secret ingredient.
14:52There we go.
14:53On to George and Alexis, the couple's choice.
14:55Cynthia praised the way that George threw himself into the routine.
14:58But Anton felt that the first half was a little reserved and lacked edge.
15:02What did you think?
15:03Do you know what?
15:03I have to say, I love you, Anton, but I disagree.
15:06Oh?
15:06So this is, for me, it's the style.
15:09It's a groove.
15:10It's like he's showing what he's got.
15:12And you'll see by the little trick in a minute what he does.
15:14How he can just take her with ease and take her over.
15:17Yeah.
15:18That's his style.
15:19His coolness.
15:19Street dance.
15:20Commercial.
15:21It's not all about hard hitting.
15:23And I think he picked just right what he was doing.
15:25I know through the routine there were some moments where they weren't quite in sync.
15:30But I think that doesn't matter because they're a new partnership.
15:32They're growing together.
15:34And I really think it can be really good.
15:36I actually really like this partnership.
15:38I think it's a good one.
15:39On to Amber and Nikita and their American Smooth.
15:42There was a lot packed into this.
15:44Benchography.
15:45Bikeography.
15:46Craig called it Oscar worthy.
15:48How did Nikita choreograph to Amber's strengths in this routine?
15:51You know what?
15:52This is what I'm talking about.
15:53That energy, that connection.
15:55They have it already, which is absolutely brilliant.
15:57And Nikita knows that Amber has great musicality.
16:01She has a great and beautiful line.
16:03So he works on that.
16:04And you see that through all of this.
16:06He's working on the aspects that she's the best at.
16:09And I think he's made an incredible piece of choreography there.
16:13And if they do manage to go all the way to the final,
16:16I feel that this is a number they should bring back
16:18because I think this will get a 40.
16:20Oh, OK.
16:22I said it.
16:22I said it right here.
16:23He's done it again.
16:23Yeah.
16:24On to Jimmy and Lauren and the Rumba.
16:26Now, Anton liked that Jimmy moved all the time.
16:29But Shirley wanted to see a change of speed and pace.
16:31How do you think this would have helped?
16:34Do you know what?
16:34I have to agree with Shirley in that way
16:36because I like a routine with dynamical changes.
16:39I think it's really important.
16:40It makes it more interesting.
16:42You've just seen there from Jimmy.
16:43He has his moment.
16:44Yeah.
16:45Throughout the routine,
16:46he did have moments where we saw those dynamical changes.
16:50Do you know what?
16:50I'm just going to show you.
16:51Let me give you a demo time.
16:53You know how I love it.
16:54Demo time.
16:56Now, throughout the routine,
16:59they were using the Cuban action.
17:01So that's the two, three, four timing.
17:04Now, that's normal and Rumba.
17:05That's what we want to see.
17:05Now, what Shirley's talking about is
17:07that you might have the two, three, four,
17:10but then all of a sudden it may be like,
17:12and one.
17:12Oh.
17:13So it's a change.
17:13So that's what we saw there.
17:14We saw that.
17:15Two, three, four, and two.
17:18He added it.
17:19Now, I think he added it in just the right moment.
17:22I feel if he had added it any more,
17:24it might have overtaken,
17:26and he might not have looked good in a Rumba.
17:27And we all know a Rumba is quite hard for males.
17:30Yes.
17:30So I actually think the choreography was really good,
17:33and Lauren picked the right moments to add it in.
17:36OK, wonderful.
17:37Next up, let's talk about Ellie and Vito and their samba.
17:40Now, the judges once again praised her musicality,
17:43and Motsi acknowledged how well Ellie coped
17:45with the rhythm changes.
17:47Where could you see that,
17:48and what made it so impressive?
17:50Do you know what?
17:50I actually saw that throughout,
17:52and I thought it was incredible.
17:54Now, we always talk about samba being one of the hardest dancers
17:57because we have different rhythm changes.
17:59Now, most dances will just have one rhythm.
18:02That's it.
18:03They have three rhythm groups added there,
18:05and that was what was so brilliant,
18:07because normally it's like you'd go from one rhythm
18:09and then you would just keep doing that all the way through.
18:12Let me not talk about it.
18:13Let me do another demo type.
18:14Another one?
18:15Is that two?
18:16Yes!
18:17Two demos!
18:18That's outrageous!
18:19I know!
18:20Oh, don't stop me.
18:21OK, so normally we have a bounce action in a samba,
18:24so it's like one, a two, one, a two.
18:27Now, if you go into another rhythm which is flat,
18:30which we then say is slow and quick,
18:31slow, quick, quick, slow, quick, quick.
18:34What happens when people are not used to it,
18:36they do the bounce action,
18:38you'd see them stop and then go into the next.
18:40What's really important is we have a bounce action
18:42and we use that bounce to then go into the slow and quick.
18:48Now, that's what she was doing really well.
18:50She would go from one action to another
18:51and it was the way she used her body
18:54and an action all the way through.
18:55I was very impressed.
18:57I thought it was good.
18:59And actually, I would have scored her higher, personally.
19:01Nice.
19:02Ellie's got some moves.
19:03OK, on to Harry and Karen and their salsa.
19:05Now, his energy was praised again.
19:08But Shirley and Craig wanted to see more fluidity
19:10in his transitions.
19:11What do they mean by this
19:12and where could he have been more fluid in the routine?
19:15Do you know, I always, in that way,
19:18I agree that I like to see fluidity.
19:20But I actually feel he's showing fluidity throughout.
19:23Like, this was a really good number for Harry
19:25because we've seen him with all of this power and energy.
19:29This was a moment we actually got to see more of his musicality.
19:32Now, because he has that power and energy,
19:35you'll see him, like, chuck someone over
19:37or, you know, he'll be pumping into something
19:39really fast and sharp.
19:40This motion, he was using his body a lot.
19:43Now, he's got a fantastic body.
19:45It reminds me of myself sometimes.
19:47But it's just the way he was flowing around
19:50and he went one thing or another.
19:51It was so calm.
19:53It looked great.
19:53And I really enjoyed that.
19:55And if we can keep seeing more of that from him,
19:57we're going to see that musicality that he has.
20:00Yes, it's all about the balance, the light and shade.
20:02Very, you know, and it was a traditional salsa.
20:04That's what I loved about it.
20:05And I want to see more of that.
20:07OK, moving on to Alex and Johannes.
20:09They did their quick step.
20:10She fully embraced the character of Miranda Priestly.
20:13However, Craig and Shirley spotted some gapping
20:15and Anton felt her head was turned too much to the left.
20:19Do you agree?
20:20And how can she fix this?
20:21Yeah, OK, I do agree,
20:23but I don't think it's a problem at the moment.
20:25Because, again, week three, we're in this transitional period
20:28where we're learning new things.
20:29Now, the bottom part of her body is incredible
20:32and she has a great line.
20:34Now, what's going to happen,
20:35as she gets more and more used to that,
20:37they'll be able to come closer and closer together
20:39and they'll create that form
20:40and that shape will go further out
20:42and her head position will improve.
20:44So I feel the fact that they've started from the bottom
20:46and working their way up,
20:48it's just going to get better and better.
20:50Now, if they had gone,
20:51oh, let's get the perfect frame,
20:52what might have happened is they're getting in each other's way
20:55and then they would have gone footwork wasn't good,
20:57the bottom wasn't good, you know.
20:59So I actually think they made the right choices
21:01and that's going to keep improving.
21:02Well, in the words of Miranda, that's all.
21:05Thank you so much, Neil Jones.
21:07We'd love to have you.
21:08Fancy coming back next week?
21:09Yeah, you know what?
21:09I think I'm free, so why not?
21:11OK, wonderful.
21:12Thanks for checking your diary.
21:13It's Neil Jones, everyone!
21:14CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
21:15Next up, from the pitch to the pageant,
21:21on Saturday, our lioness pulled off
21:22a cha-cha-charming performance.
21:25But after Craig awarded them a four,
21:27do Karen and Carlos think he's the one
21:29who should take some lessons in etiquette?
21:31We'll be getting all the tea next.
21:35There is an enormous physicality
21:37about the way you dance.
21:38Sometimes you get a bit too much
21:39and it throws your balance,
21:41but it's terrific.
21:42You could just refine things.
21:45So a little bit more rotation in your base,
21:47but this is like a full-on competitive routine,
21:50which you executed well.
21:53You are attack, attack, attack,
21:54and that's the way to be on this dance floor.
21:56Well done.
21:58CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
22:00Yes, it's Karen and Carlos, everyone!
22:02CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
22:04Before we get stuck in,
22:06we need to talk about this moment, OK?
22:09You're used to jogging out onto football pitches
22:11and then, look, you just wow us
22:13with that glam opening.
22:15How did you feel in that moment?
22:17Oh, erm...
22:18All on your own as well!
22:20I know.
22:20I was...
22:22That was intimidating for me.
22:23That was really intimidating
22:24because to do all that,
22:25to do it on your own
22:26and to really, like, give it some...
22:28Erm...
22:29But he gave me the confidence.
22:30He was like, come on, just go for it.
22:32And that's what I did.
22:33And you know what?
22:34I'm actually really proud of that.
22:35I'm really, really proud of that
22:37because it was so...
22:39It was a lot for me.
22:40But I did it.
22:41And that's what I want to do.
22:42I want to get my confidence on this show.
22:43Yes.
22:44Now, on our sofa last week, Carlos,
22:46you said that you handed over your tiara to Kaz.
22:49Did our Miss Congeniality do you proud?
22:52Oh, 100%.
22:53You know, I actually got quite emotional
22:55when I watched her coming down the stairs
22:57and seeing her turning into a front football pitch.
23:00We know what's Karen look like on the launch show.
23:02And in week...
23:03Three weeks in, she was like that.
23:05And I was...
23:06It's everything.
23:07I'm speechless.
23:08I'm just so proud.
23:10And she trusted herself
23:11and she trusted me and work as a team.
23:13And she really won for it.
23:15You did.
23:15You didn't hold back.
23:16I loved it.
23:17You also took your role as Miss Congeniality
23:19very seriously.
23:20This was you backstage.
23:22Oh.
23:23She actually loves that more than...
23:25That was the role I owned.
23:26I owned that role.
23:27I just absolutely love it.
23:28You're like fully in character.
23:30I didn't let people pass.
23:31They had to have their badge.
23:32I was really strict on the security.
23:35Yeah.
23:35You did a lot as well.
23:36It was all about getting into the character.
23:37You had etiquette lessons, walking in heels.
23:41What were the main things that you learnt about becoming a lady?
23:44The heels was a challenge.
23:46I'm trying to keep wearing them.
23:48He's like, can you try and sleep in them?
23:49I can see.
23:50I'm impressed you got them on tonight.
23:51Yeah, I'm really, really trying.
23:53But, you know, I love the etiquette lessons as well.
23:56That was a lot of fun.
23:57It was fun, wasn't it?
23:58We had a really good week and we enjoyed it.
24:01And like you said, I think in the tango,
24:03I was frustrated that I probably held back.
24:06And I was like, I'm not going to do that.
24:08Like, I know I have to maintain that power and control it.
24:10And I take on board the judge's feedback.
24:13But my way is to go for it.
24:15I don't want to have regrets.
24:16Yes.
24:17And so I've just got to learn how to not have regrets and go for it,
24:20but adding that finesse.
24:21And I'm going to try.
24:22Oh, I'm seeing it.
24:23We love the effort.
24:24You had a lot of support online as well.
24:26And we've seen so many comments, including,
24:28Karen Carney came to slay, criminally undermarked,
24:32and Craig gave her a four.
24:34It's outrageous.
24:36I know.
24:36Outrageous.
24:37Look at all these comments.
24:38Just how outrageous was that four from Craig Carlos?
24:42Come on, spill the tea.
24:43Tell us the truth.
24:44We love Craig dearly.
24:46And, you know, and also we're trying to aim to make him happy.
24:49If he gave us four to make him happy, we'd go for it.
24:52But, you know, actually, I was laughing because I couldn't hurt myself.
24:57It was very funny, actually.
24:58He gave us four.
25:00It never turned into a fire on us.
25:03I was like, oh, we're going to work on it,
25:04and we're going to make him happy next time.
25:06We'll see.
25:07Yes, exactly.
25:08You just keep working harder.
25:10Keep coming back with more energy.
25:11To please him, you know that.
25:12He's quite hard to please, I know.
25:13But now that you understand the role of Miss Congeniality so well,
25:17who would you say is Miss Congeniality of the class of 2025?
25:22Carlos.
25:23Carlos.
25:24I'm giving the crown back.
25:26Oh, he's got it back.
25:27I don't think he ever really gave it to you.
25:29He took it back.
25:31He took it back to me.
25:32He took it back.
25:32Now, looking ahead, this week,
25:34we can reveal that you're dancing a quick step to this.
25:38It's a marvellous party.
25:39We're not done away from now.
25:40That's A Marvellous Party by Beverly Knight.
25:43We love this song.
25:45Kaz Carney becomes Kaz Classy.
25:47Ooh, love that.
25:48Wow, look at that.
25:49How much are you enjoying embracing the classiness of the quick step?
25:52I'm going to try.
25:53I've got a classy man next to me,
25:55so I'm going to try and embrace...
25:56I mean, he's fantastic.
25:58So I'm going to try and get to his levels,
26:00and like everything, like I said to you earlier,
26:02we'll just go for it.
26:02We're going to have fun.
26:03I'm enjoying this, and that will never change for us.
26:06Yes, and our lioness is known for her quick pace and a quick feat.
26:09So how much are you going to use this to your advantage in the quick step?
26:13But actually, to answer the question before you ask her,
26:15how do we become a classy for her,
26:18the goal actually is to slow down everything.
26:21Even if it's a fast-paced dance,
26:23but we're going to really cushion it into it,
26:25bring those quality, those details from the fingers,
26:28from the shoulder, from the head,
26:30from the performance, from the spinning,
26:32even from some props.
26:33Who knows?
26:34You know, that's the goal.
26:35So bring the classy, bring the slow into the fast dance.
26:38Show those quality.
26:39Mm, so it's all about the attitude and the character.
26:41Absolutely.
26:42I love that.
26:43How are you feeling about returning to ballroom, Kaz?
26:45Um, thrilled.
26:47I don't believe that, sorry.
26:49Yeah, I don't know.
26:50No, but we've got some different strategies for hold,
26:54which is good.
26:55Yeah, we did.
26:56He's been fantastic with that and teaching me with that,
26:58and I think I'm really working on that.
27:01So I'm excited about that.
27:03That's a good challenge for me,
27:04so I'm looking forward to that.
27:05And the song is great and obviously it is some quick feet
27:08and Carlos is right.
27:09We'll add a little bit of finesse, hopefully.
27:11So hopefully it will come together
27:12and I know that me and you will both love performing it,
27:16so nothing will change for us.
27:18Well, you're learning so much each week
27:19and now that we're in the fourth week,
27:20would you say that you're finding it easier
27:22to pick up the choreography now?
27:23No.
27:24No.
27:24He's so patient.
27:26He's so patient.
27:27No, it gets harder because it's still a new dance.
27:30You've still never done it before
27:31and you're like, you get so happy come Saturday.
27:33I'm like, yes, I've done this dance
27:35and then like Monday, you're like,
27:36you're thrilled to be in.
27:37You're honestly thrilled,
27:38but then you're like, I've got to go again
27:40and learn another new, like, you know, it's like.
27:42Yeah, it's intense.
27:43And he's really patient
27:44and he's learning a lot about me.
27:46So he's doing really well
27:48and I'm not an easy student, I would say,
27:50but he's doing really well.
27:51No, you are.
27:52No.
27:52I'm listening to her.
27:54Well, I cannot wait to see it.
27:55All the best for training.
27:57It's Karen and Carlos.
28:02Well, that's it for tonight.
28:03Jeanette will be here tomorrow
28:04with Amber and Nikita, Vicky and Kai
28:06and the couple with the first 10 of the series,
28:09Louis and Katia.
28:10And we get a first look at how some of our couples
28:12are getting on in the training room.
28:14Have a lovely evening.
28:25This will probably sound crazy,
28:29but do you want to be in a rock band?
28:32What?
