00:00Please welcome your host, Fleur East.
00:30Good evening and welcome to It Takes Two, live on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:38It's Friday already, and it's week two of the competition, which means things are getting
00:43very serious for all 15 of our couples, because in just 23 hours and 49 minutes, our couples
00:54hit the dance floor and they are all desperate to survive the first elimination of this series.
00:59But before the suspense and sparkles of tomorrow, we have all this to look forward to tonight.
01:08Balbinda looked a bit shake, shake, shaken by her scores on Saturday, but could she cause
01:12a stir by bouncing back with this week's Charleston?
01:15We'll find out shortly.
01:18Last weekend, LaVoie swapped the drag bars for the ballroom floor, proving she's no one-trick
01:22pony.
01:23But will she listen to Shirley and let Aliash take the reins this week?
01:27It will be revealed soon.
01:30And we have some exclusive footage of Chris and Nadia and Stefan and Diane in training
01:35ahead of tomorrow's live show.
01:37But now, it's time for you to freak out.
01:39Please welcome our first Friday panel of the series!
01:43Oh, yeah!
01:49They've got the moves!
01:53To celebrate Celeb Traders starting on Wednesday, we have former Trader and Radio 1's Mina Shannon!
02:01It's Strictly Superfan and Radio 2's Owain Winnevers!
02:04And lastly, she was the highest-scoring contestant last series, and she's back to make her mark.
02:13It's Tasha Goury!
02:15Now, before we look at the ballroom footage from earlier today, we have some exciting exclusive
02:21news.
02:22This series, Tasha, you'll be joining us as our roving reporter!
02:26So excited to be part of the team, I cannot wait to get all the goss all behind the scenes.
02:33It's so nice to have you part of the family!
02:35Yeah!
02:36Welcome!
02:37Can't wait!
02:38OK, we've got 15 couples to get through, so let's get straight to it.
02:39We're going to start with Chris and Nadia and their Viennese Waltz.
02:42Now, Tasha, you did a Viennese Waltz in week two and scored an impressive 35 points.
02:47What does Chris need to do to secure high marks this week?
02:51I think he really needs to take control and be the lead.
02:54You know, it's all about man leading, and Nadia needs to look like she's just floating
02:57around on the floor, and what he needs to do is take charge and show that I've got her,
03:01I'm really taking her, and just be windswept, you know, it's really about moving as one.
03:05So he really just needs to have that frame, make sure he's leading her, and just take control
03:10of it.
03:11And I think he looks great in the video, he does look amazing, so fingers crossed that
03:15it all goes well.
03:16OK, next up, Stefan and Diane, they're doing a cha-cha-cha.
03:20Now, Owen, you're good friends with Diane, our reigning champ.
03:23What are you making of this partnership?
03:25Oh, there she is, my baby.
03:27I, I mean, I just love them.
03:29They bring in joy.
03:31You know, Stefan is bringing the soap star drama and energy, I think, darlings.
03:36And, you know, I feel like Diane is just, she's got that effervescent, she's got that effortless
03:40thing.
03:41I think that they are, like, a perfect combo, and I just can't wait to see how they kind
03:45of progress on the dance floor.
03:47Yeah.
03:48It's very exciting.
03:49On to Tom and Amy.
03:50They're doing a salsa.
03:51Now, Mina, we saw a serious side to Tom last week, but tomorrow he needs to bring a completely
03:56different character.
03:57How do you think he's going to do?
03:58I'm a little bit worried, I'm not going to lie.
04:01I feel like last week was more suited for him, although he was a little bit pouty.
04:05I thought he was a bit pouty last week.
04:07I've just seen his bum shake then, I'm not convinced.
04:10You're not convinced about the bum shake?
04:12Yeah.
04:13It's going to take.
04:14It was a five out of ten.
04:15But, Owen, a salsa to Dizzy Rascal, I mean, how bonkers is that song to us?
04:19Oh, completely bonkers.
04:20And isn't that why we love Strictly?
04:22Yes.
04:23You know, you can get the most kind of ludicrous combinations of songs and dances put together,
04:29and I'm here for it, darling.
04:31Exactly, that's what we're all here for.
04:33Let's move on to Amber and Nikita.
04:35They're doing a samba.
04:36Now, Tasha, Amber is a fellow Love Islander.
04:38What do you make of her recoupling with Nikita?
04:41I think they are such a great pairing.
04:44You know, she came in, she did the Waltz, she learnt it in 24 hours.
04:47I mean, come on.
04:48That standard of the Waltz was amazing.
04:52And I'm excited to see the samba.
04:53It's really about letting go and being on your knees and just...
04:57The samba's a bit of a weird one.
04:58I felt silly doing it, so you have to not overthink it and just go for it.
05:01And you can see she's having a great time, she's got a smile on her face.
05:03And for her, she's just starting a partnership with Nikita.
05:06Everyone's had that head start.
05:08So I'm really excited to see the journey that they go on,
05:10but it seems like they've got it.
05:12Well, this is the thing.
05:13It's like early days.
05:14And Mina, I wanted to ask you,
05:15do you think our latecomer has made a good impression so far?
05:18I think she's made an amazing impression.
05:20I couldn't do that with two months of practice.
05:22Never mind 24 hours.
05:24When I watched it last week, I thought,
05:26give the girl the trophy now.
05:28Wow.
05:29Honestly, she was brilliant.
05:31We're calling it early.
05:32OK, and next up, Harry and Karen, they're doing a quick step.
05:35Oh, and he's a sprinter, so he's used to quick steps.
05:39But do you think he's got the stamina for this fast-paced routine?
05:41Oh, I mean, Olympic-grade stamina.
05:44He was, like, sashaying around that dance floor.
05:47And this is such a big part of it, isn't it?
05:51Because you see when somebody goes into the competition,
05:54I guess how kind of fit they are.
05:56Because that's...
05:57You don't even think of that.
05:59But, you know, they're doing the dances day in, day out for a week run-up
06:01or 24 hours, depending on who you are, I guess.
06:04I don't know who we're talking about.
06:05I think he's great, and he's also got the charisma,
06:08he's got the energy, and it's just the whole thing
06:12that I think what makes somebody kind of have that sparkle on Strictly.
06:16Mm, got the whole package.
06:17OK, moving on to Lewis and Katya.
06:20They're doing a Viennese waltz.
06:21Now, Mina, we know that Lewis can do the tricks,
06:24but what would you like to see from him this week?
06:26Everything I saw last week.
06:27OK, I'm clearly obsessed with every one.
06:30I thought they were brilliant last week,
06:32and I think he is a natural dancer.
06:35I feel like it comes effortlessly with him.
06:38I feel like he'll be able to take the lead,
06:39which feels like a dance that you need the man to take the lead.
06:43And, yeah, I just can't wait to see him grow and grow and grow.
06:46Another one that I think could win.
06:47Oh, gosh, I think everyone's going to win.
06:48Yeah, that's the problem.
06:50Let's hope Lewis can cope with the pressure.
06:52On to Vicky and Kai. They're doing a foxtrot.
06:55Natasha, she describes herself as a turbo sloth.
06:58But this week, we need to see her be a little bit more graceful.
07:01What are you looking forward to?
07:02I think we need to see that side of Vicky,
07:04which is the graceful side.
07:05You know, she's super funny.
07:07She's got the personality.
07:08It's all about now seeing the elegance
07:10and just letting Kai, you know, just take her for a whiz.
07:13And having that smile, you know.
07:15Things are being a boring thing.
07:16You have to be back and, you know, chins up.
07:18There's a lot to think about, including your footwork.
07:20Or your feet doing all sorts.
07:21There's a lot to really, really take on.
07:24But I feel like she's really taking on feedback.
07:26And this week, we just need to see that Princess Vicky,
07:29which I think she'll bring to the floor.
07:30Yes.
07:31And Mina, the judges recognised her potential in week one
07:33and said she's got nothing to be nervous about.
07:35Yeah.
07:35How do you think that's going to give her a boost going into this weekend?
07:38I think that's exactly what she needed.
07:40You could tell she was nervous.
07:41And I listened to her podcast and she's been mentioning how nervous she's been
07:45about wanting to do a good job.
07:47And I think getting that feedback on week one is everything she needed.
07:51I think she's going to relax into it.
07:53She's going to be dazzling this week.
07:54OK, let's talk about Ellie and Vito. They're doing a waltz now at Owain.
07:58The cheeky team are already getting on like a house on fire.
08:02What's your favourite thing about this partnership?
08:04My favourite thing about this is how genuine it is, I think.
08:06Yeah.
08:07And we could see, you know, the reaction when they first kind of saw each other,
08:11that they were going to be coupled together.
08:13And then seeing the footage of them in the kind of rehearsal room getting ready,
08:18they clearly get on really well.
08:21And I think that that translates onto the dance floor.
08:24Because I think that a lot of the time, if you try to be something that you're not,
08:29you would be kind of, you know, that you can't keep that facade up.
08:32Whereas I think with these two, you know, I just love them.
08:36And yeah, definitely bringing a smile to my face.
08:38They're both just, they're both just hilarious.
08:40They're a joy, aren't they?
08:41Yeah.
08:42Natasha, you know all about the waltz.
08:43You've got a perfect 40 for your waltz.
08:45So you know how different it is to the cha-cha-cha, right?
08:47That was a long time ago.
08:51How is she looking in ballroom?
08:54She looks absolutely beautiful.
08:55Like you said, you know, I love that happy brother-sister relationship.
08:59You know, I like how Vito's adjusted his teaching by doing visual.
09:03And, you know, you can see how special it is.
09:05And you can see already, she's smiling.
09:07She loves to be a princess.
09:09And I just cannot wait to see them two just having a great time.
09:11Which, clearly, they are.
09:13It's something special there.
09:14It's very exciting.
09:15Well, we'll take a look at the rest of the pairings later for now.
09:18My Friday panel, everyone.
09:23Next up, last weekend, Balvinda and Julian's samba to KC and the Sunshine Band lit up the dance floor.
09:29But was that the calm before the storm?
09:31We'll find out soon.
09:31First, here's a reminder of that dance.
09:33I think you're a natural move.
09:38It was very connected within your body.
09:40Everyone's a little flat-footed all the way through.
09:43Your feet seem to be stuck to the floor at times.
09:46But, you know, you threw absolutely everything at that time.
09:50If we can get those feet as good as your top, we're in a winner for sure.
09:55CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
10:00Please welcome Balvinda and Julian!
10:03Now, before we get stuck in, Julian, you've been very clear about your personal space.
10:07And you don't want Balvinda to be a koala.
10:09So we felt it right to pop this little cutie between you two.
10:13LAUGHTER
10:14Do you know what's ironic, though?
10:17We have the Charleston this week, and I've actually been telling Bal to be more of a koala.
10:21So, do you know, we might just keep it nice and there we go.
10:26There you go, you can enjoy it.
10:28Now, Balvinda, as a strictly super fan, you know about the Samba's reputation.
10:33Yeah.
10:33So how did it feel kicking off the competition doing one of the toughest dances?
10:37Erm, I thought I looked great.
10:39LAUGHTER
10:40You did? You looked unreal.
10:42Yeah, yeah, no, I absolutely, like, saw myself and went,
10:46wow, that's quite incredible.
10:48Erm, and yeah, it's a hard dance.
10:51It was difficult to learn the swinging of the hips, the straight leg.
10:54I mean, I thought I had it.
10:57Yeah, I mean, you had it. You had it. You had it going on.
10:59I had some of it. I had the Samba rolls.
11:01Yes. We did the Samba rolls and I absolutely loved them.
11:03I enjoyed doing them.
11:04But there were some steps that just, the bounce, I couldn't quite get the bounce right.
11:07But we gave it a good shot.
11:08You did great. You did really good.
11:10It's a really hard dance. Week one as well.
11:12Yeah, it's tough.
11:13You come in with, like, no prior dance experience or anything to get thrown a Samba.
11:17I thought, I thought you did really, really well.
11:19I was really proud of you.
11:20Very well. And Gillian, you've been on Dancing with the Stars, Australia.
11:23I have. Yeah.
11:23But what is it like experiencing everything for the first time on our UK version of the show?
11:28Oh, it's a totally different experience.
11:29I mean, the scale over here is insane.
11:33Oh, really?
11:33Like, everything with Strictly, I feel, is just bigger.
11:36The sets are bigger. Everything is just amazing.
11:39But do you know what?
11:40Like, from the first day that I joined the pros when we were in the pro rehearsals,
11:45I just felt like I was, everyone made me feel part of the Strictly family.
11:48And it's been an absolute joy.
11:51And I was just telling some people backstage that it's really made me re-fall in love with dance,
11:56you know, all over again.
11:58And even going through this journey with you, Val, I'm, like, I'm loving dance more than I ever have in my entire life.
12:04And I've been doing it for 20 years.
12:05Oh, wow.
12:06That's great.
12:07That's incredible.
12:08Geez, didn't know we could do that.
12:09Yeah, there you go.
12:11I'm easily pleased, you know.
12:14Well, the judges loved your disco vibe, but they awarded you three fours and a five.
12:19And a fair few people online believe that you were under-marked.
12:23Jane wrote, loved Balvinda.
12:25Suki would have told them she was under-scored.
12:29She was under-scored.
12:29What did you both make of those scores?
12:31Look, the judges' feedback, to be fair, I think was really spot on.
12:35You know, we totally agree with everything that they say.
12:38I think that Bal is supernatural.
12:40She has a really great groove through the upper body.
12:42But definitely, you know, the legs and feet is going to take, you know, it's not going to happen in week one.
12:47So we're going to take the feedback on.
12:49We're going to work really hard.
12:51And, you know, all we can control is the work that we put in and the dance that we deliver.
12:56So that's all we're focusing on.
12:57And then hopefully this week we can try and beat our scores.
13:01This is it.
13:01Well, speaking of this week, looking ahead, tomorrow you'll be dancing a Charleston to this.
13:06But I've been like this, I've been like this.
13:08Woo!
13:09That's Been Like This by Meghan Trainor and T-Pain.
13:12You're instantly in the routine.
13:14Stressed.
13:14Now, Julian, the Charleston is all about synchronicity and those swivels.
13:20So how have you been working on those in training?
13:22Do you know what, bales are natural at the swivels.
13:24So when we started rehearsals, I was like, all right, cool, let's go through a Charleston swivel.
13:29You know, I'd allocated about an hour for it.
13:31And then she just did it.
13:33She was better than me at it.
13:35And I was like, oh, my gosh, I'm really going to have to practice this week to make sure that
13:37Bal doesn't look like the pro.
13:38Wow.
13:39Hardly.
13:40But I have this theory that Bal may or may not have been a bit of a secret raver back in the day.
13:46Because she can shuffle backwards, forwards, sideways.
13:49Wow.
13:50So, but no, but yeah, like you say, the Charleston has all the swivels, but has that kind of synchronicity to it as well.
13:57And I think using sounds has been really helpful this week and trying to, a lot of, ooh, and ah.
14:03Yeah, just to accent the moments that we have to kind of hit.
14:06Because sometimes my hands and my sort of, you know, legs are just a bit sloppy.
14:11Well, let's take a look at your hands and your legs.
14:13Oh, no.
14:13We've got some footage from rehearsal today.
14:15How did it go, Balvinda?
14:16How are you feeling?
14:17Oh, my gosh, I'm here.
14:17I mean, I'm feeling brilliant.
14:18It looks great, Jules.
14:21You look great.
14:23We should just do it like that.
14:23I mean.
14:24Just do it like that.
14:25We look brilliant.
14:25Your pigeon toes came under fire last week, but they're kind of working in your favour.
14:30They work in this because I can do that and it's flat footed.
14:32I don't have to be on my toes and, you know, as much.
14:35Um, so it's an advantage this, this week.
14:38Um, but yeah, last week it was not so great.
14:41So I've been trying to walk sort of, you know, with my feet out just to kind of get a bit of balance going.
14:46Yeah, whatever you need to do.
14:48We've got a message coming from Helen.
14:50Oh.
14:50If you could combine Strictly and Sookie, what would be her dance?
14:54Oh, great.
14:55Thanks, Helen.
14:56I think she'd do the tango, you know.
14:57Oh.
14:58Yeah.
14:58Yeah.
14:59With her handbag in tow.
15:00Handbag.
15:01It has to be in the eyebrow.
15:03We could make that work.
15:04It's dark.
15:04It's steely look.
15:05I love it.
15:06Well, we can't wait to see her Charleston tomorrow.
15:08It's Balvinda and Julian, everyone.
15:10Woo!
15:14Next up, Lavoie's pony might not have descended,
15:17but her performance went down very well and her ability to adjust to such a last-minute change shows
15:22what an absolute professional she is.
15:24Can many performers do that on the hoof?
15:27Nay!
15:31Here's a reminder of Lavoie and Aliash's American Smooth.
15:35This is exactly the sort of number I would put together for you.
15:41I mean, it's just genius.
15:43I thought that was beautiful.
15:46Just a little bit more dynamic so that we don't have the same energy all the time.
15:51You took that to a whole new level of camp.
15:55I loved it.
16:02Lavoie and Aliash, everyone.
16:03Hello.
16:04This is very exciting.
16:07Welcome.
16:08You look incredible.
16:10Do you know what?
16:10I was with your husband, Marcel, just the other night.
16:13Oh!
16:13Yeah, you were.
16:14You...
16:15He can't half-party, I tell you.
16:16My goodness me.
16:17He was telling me all about you and tea.
16:19You know, what a wonderful night we had.
16:21I mean, you were on your way home, so I left.
16:23But it was wonderful.
16:24It's lovely to be here.
16:25Where was I?
16:26I don't know about this.
16:27Well, your American Smooth to Chapel Roan's liberating anthem has been applauded online.
16:34So many messages.
16:35One person said, Miss Chapel would be proud.
16:37Another called your dance healing.
16:39A third concluded, what fantastic representation.
16:43How do you react to comments like that?
16:44Especially ones about representation.
16:46Represent...
16:46I mean, as a minority, being a redhead, you know, it's important to spread that message
16:52out that healing, that's a wonderful, powerful word, isn't it?
16:55Yes, it is.
16:55Miss Chapel would be...
16:57I mean, I don't know.
16:58Dr. Lavoie.
16:59Dr. Lavoie.
17:00Yeah, healing.
17:01Healing.
17:01Healing.
17:02I like that.
17:02You know.
17:03I like that.
17:03Well, I'm glad that Chapel Roan is proud.
17:05I'd never heard of her before we were doing that song.
17:07So, I'm so...
17:09I mean, where is she now?
17:10You know what I mean?
17:11I'm strictly...
17:12Where's Chapel Moan or whatever her name is?
17:14Chapel Moan!
17:14I'm so excited.
17:16I bet her pony didn't fail up and down, did it?
17:18Probably.
17:18That was awkward.
17:19Now, Eliash, you're used to being the teacher, but what have you learned so far from working
17:24with Lavoie?
17:25I mean, what haven't I learned?
17:28Seriously, one second.
17:29You're a sounding little horse.
17:32I love that.
17:36Wow.
17:37This is what I have to deal with.
17:39So, what have you learned?
17:41It's exhausting.
17:42What have you learned?
17:42Is it really?
17:43I haven't learned to dance, if that's the next question.
17:47We're getting to that bit.
17:49He said, can you do it via Zoom?
17:50I said, I don't think that's going to work.
17:52Via Zoom.
17:53We haven't been in the same room for about 10 minutes.
17:56I feel like because our personalities clash and we really struggle during the week to kind of,
18:01you know, stay in the same room for more than a couple of minutes.
18:04So, we have been actually rehearsing.
18:05My sympathies for Jeanette go through the roof at this precise moment.
18:10Imagine living with him.
18:11Goodness me, I know it's awful.
18:13Oh, what a lucky girl.
18:15I call, I speak to Jeanette more than I speak to Eliash really on a daily basis.
18:18It's what has to get us through, doesn't it?
18:19It is worrying, isn't it?
18:20It is worrying, you know, and it's just, I know it's your...
18:22What does she say about me?
18:23Sorry, what does she say about me?
18:24I'm just, I'm chilling right now.
18:26No, you just chill there in your pleated beige.
18:29We'll get onto that in a sec.
18:32No, no, we're a little wonderful.
18:33I mean, we've got all these colours.
18:35We barely noticed them when we walked in.
18:36I said, look at that, the colour of a gravy granule sat there.
18:39You look wonderful.
18:40Amazing.
18:42Now, tomorrow, you're going to be directing the jive to a version of this.
18:48Oh, that is Objection Tango by Shakira.
18:51Eliash, the song includes lyrics such as got dizzy dancing tango, but you're doing a jive.
18:57Please explain.
18:58Well, up until about yesterday, I was convinced that it's a tango.
19:02So, I choreographed a tango.
19:04No.
19:04This has been a complete error.
19:05Yeah, yeah, yeah.
19:05This has been a complete error.
19:06We practiced a tango and today, this morning, we walked in.
19:09That's how big of a pro you are.
19:11And I literally choreographed it this morning and what we sort of did on the floor today
19:16for the camera block, it was just...
19:17It's literally been an absolute disaster.
19:19We've learnt the tango for at least four hours and then we found out it's a jive.
19:25Well, we need to look at you on the floor today.
19:28This is, can we just say this is completely thrown together.
19:30This is improbable.
19:31This is completely improbable.
19:32Wow.
19:32Look at that, you see.
19:33This is the first time we have done it through, the whole way through.
19:35What?
19:36Now, you see, Eliash goes wrong.
19:38There, did you see that?
19:38Yes.
19:39Tomorrow, tomorrow hopefully goes...
19:42That was actually not bad.
19:43It's nice to see it, actually.
19:45Well, what I loved about your American Smooth is that you managed to bring humour to the routine.
19:49So, are we going to see some comedy in this jive?
19:52We're not known for that.
19:53No.
19:54So, I think we're known for subtlety, calmness, relaxation, healing.
19:59Healing.
20:00Healing.
20:00Healing.
20:01Healing.
20:01Healing.
20:02No, you comment, well, basically, because we're about to throw the dance together.
20:05I think it'll be hilarious, quite frankly.
20:07I would suggest do not have a coffee before our dance, because I feel like just watching
20:11that might be enough.
20:12It's going to be intense, wow.
20:14That's a really good advice.
20:14You know what I mean?
20:15Before you go, we have a surprise good luck message for you, LaVar.
20:20No.
20:20It's Drag Race icon and Dancing with the Stars Island finalist, Blue Hydrangea.
20:25Oh, no idea who she is, but let's watch.
20:28I want to thank you for all the incredible work you've been doing on Strictly, representing
20:32for drag queens and the LGBTQ plus community on one of the biggest stages in the UK.
20:37We are all rooting for you, and I cannot wait to see you put that hip replacement into good
20:42use this week, doing the jive.
20:44Break a lash, sister.
20:45Mwah.
20:46Lots of love.
20:47Bless her.
20:47That's lovely.
20:49And you see, when you're not working as busy as I am, you've got time to make costumes like that.
20:53I can't wait to see your hip in action, to be honest.
20:59Yes.
20:59Brilliant.
21:01Is that truth, by the way?
21:03Just because I would need to know that, do you know what I mean?
21:05What do you mean, she's real?
21:06No, no, no, the hip thing.
21:07What do you mean, Noah?
21:09How dare you?
21:11And on that note, best of luck tomorrow night, LaVar and Ali Ashef.
21:15Well done.
21:17Well done, wow.
21:18Well done.
21:20Getting hot.
21:21Now, for our final trip to the chaining rooms, where Stefan and Diane and Chris and Nadia are
21:29working extra hard because no one wants to be the first to get eliminated.
21:35This week, I'm going to be dancing the cha-cha-cha.
21:38It's a lot freer.
21:40It's a lot, you know, hoo, hoo, hoo.
21:41This is that hip, hip, this one.
21:43Man, you've got to loosen up those hips for a bit of, you know, movement.
21:47Let your hips go.
21:48His little hips swing quite well.
21:51They are actually quite oiled.
21:53Seven, eight.
21:54That looks good.
21:55I like it.
21:59Phoenix Waltz, it's all about the spins.
22:02Natural turns, reverse turns, standing spins, flat curls.
22:06On your turn, rotate.
22:07Right foot in front, right foot behind, right foot round, right foot in front.
22:10And the round is getting dizzy.
22:13Go one, two, three.
22:15I've got to be a sponge this week. There's a lot to learn, but bring it on.
22:23Right, let's get back into it with our Friday panel.
22:27Let's talk about George and Alexis.
22:28They're doing a Paso Doble.
22:30Mina, the Paso is no joke.
22:32How do you think George is going to cope with the serious nature of this style of dance?
22:37George strikes me as somebody who understands the assignment.
22:40I feel like he's eager to do a good job and he will take it serious.
22:45I think he's going to deliver a very good performance this weekend.
22:48Yeah, and they're dancing to game of survival.
22:51How long do you think George can survive in this competition?
22:54I mean, oh, what a question.
22:59Judging by what we saw last week, I mean, I reckon, you know, definitely one to watch.
23:04Could we be looking at somebody who could be going all the way through to the final,
23:08you know, when we've got the, I know, when we've got the tinsel on the tree,
23:12will, you know, we still be there? I reckon maybe so, Anne.
23:14Oh, what a thrill this show is.
23:17On to Alex and Johannes. They're doing a samba.
23:20Tasha, the Viennese waltz took a turn for the worst.
23:23They got a four from Craig. What hopes have you got for this dance?
23:27I really hope Alex comes back stronger.
23:30You know, getting a four is a bit brutal, but I hope it doesn't knock her confidence.
23:33You know, she's got this. She's got a great partner.
23:36She used to come back strong and show, you know what, I have got this.
23:38And just say, you know what, Craig? I don't deserve that four.
23:41If anything, I deserve higher. So I've liked the samba.
23:43It's a great opportunity to come back.
23:45And she used to just relax the nerves, you know, just get the nerves,
23:47foam out the window and have fun with Jojo, because they are a great partnership.
23:51They just really showcase that on the floor.
23:53But they are doing a samba, Mina. It's been called the Dance of Death.
23:57Could this spell the end of Alex this weekend?
23:59Why are you asking me the question about death?
24:00I don't know. You've been in the traitors. You know, it gets dark in life, right?
24:05Could this be the end for Alex?
24:07It better not be. I wanted to fight my TV when she got her scores, because I honestly,
24:12it was the second dance and I thought eights, you know, being an expert.
24:16I thought it was a brilliant dance. So when the judges gave them the scores that they did,
24:21I was very confused, because we are clearly on different pages.
24:24But I think she will come back strong, as Tasha says, and she will smash this.
24:28OK, well, let's move on to Jimmy and Lauren. They're doing a cha-cha-cha.
24:32O-I-N, our footballer kicked things off in style, and is now sitting in joint third
24:37on the leaderboard. Can he keep it up this week?
24:39Oh, I think so. Absolutely. Look at those heads.
24:42Wow.
24:43Whoa. And that little hat. Was that a hat swap?
24:45Yeah, it was. I think it was, yeah. I mean, I fully subscribed to a hat swap, darlings.
24:51So if that's anything to go by, hey, listen. You're in. I'm in.
24:54Already, listen, I'm on the premium membership. I'm ready to see the next step there.
24:59Well, I heard it on the grapevine, Tasha, that Jimmy's quick step surprised you.
25:03Why? Massively. I think I didn't expect it from him.
25:06You know, I think being a footballer. Yeah.
25:08He just came out and surprised everybody. And from that video, I'm like,
25:12I'm so excited to see that. I, he's my, I feel like he's going to be in the final for me.
25:16I feel like he's going to have a great journey. He really surprises everybody.
25:20And just from that, I'm like, yeah, he's got this. He's going for it.
25:24He's taking notes and he's not holding back.
25:26Okay. Some strong claims this evening from one footballer to another.
25:30Let's talk about Karen and Carlos. They're doing a tango.
25:32Mina, our leaderboard topping lioness has received only the,
25:36the only eights of the series so far. Is she already in a league of her own?
25:40Yes. This is the year of the footy players, because that performance last weekend,
25:46unreal. Next level for week one. Yeah.
25:49You know, because I'm an expert. I was blown away. I was blown away.
25:53And I've got this toxic trait where I thought I could do that on a good day.
25:57I tried. It was, it was awful. It was awful.
25:59It's tough, isn't it? Yes.
26:01Oh, Ryan, Karen danced to Blondie last week.
26:04Yeah. What did you love about the drive?
26:05Oh, I mean, listen, I, you may not be surprised to say that I, you know,
26:09I'm normally not one who is that interested in football, but I know, I know it's such a shock,
26:14isn't it? But like, she's just amazing. And I love Blondie and Clem Burke actually used to
26:21be Blondie's drummer. I knew. And, um, so there was like a double connection for me,
26:26you know, hearing them do that song. And she's just amazing. And like, I love Carlos. I mean,
26:32do you know what I mean? Yes. A lot of love. A lot of love for them. Ili, Ili, Ili. Yes.
26:35Yeah. Onto Ross and Yavita. They're doing a waltz. And Tasha, I mean, he was at the bottom
26:40of the leaderboard and did make a few mistakes last weekend. What do you think he should be
26:44focusing on tomorrow night? Bless him. I just want to give him a hug. You know,
26:49you can see he really tries hard. That's what Stricky's about. Everybody's on different journeys.
26:53He's coming with no dance experience. He's really thrown himself in. And I think he was just
26:58really nervous. He may have messed up. He still carried on. That's the main thing.
27:02Yes. He didn't stop and go,
27:03panic attack. He fell on and still went for it. And that's a really, really good thing to have
27:08when you're dancing. And for him to see now, I feel like he's slowly getting into it a bit more,
27:13trusting his partnership with Yavita. And he just really needs to just relax and not overthink.
27:19And he's got this. He needs to believe in himself a bit more, I think.
27:22Yes. Self-belief. Okay. Next up, Balvinda and Julian. They're doing a Charleston.
27:26Erwine, our Strictly super fan, gave her thoughts on the Charleston earlier on in the show.
27:31What do you make of it?
27:32Yeah. Oh, I mean, I reckon they're going to smash it. She's got that energy.
27:36Yes. She loves it. You can tell that this is a thing that, you know, when she was chatting
27:41over there, you could just tell, like, this is something that is exciting. And whatever
27:46journey that they go on together, whatever the dance is, you know, I think they're a
27:50great duo to do it. So I think that her level of kind of excitement about the whole thing
27:55is what's going to come across, you know, through the lens to us at home.
28:00But also on the dance floor, she seems really keen to learn.
28:03And, you know... She does. We like a keen learner.
28:06We love a keen learner. We like a keen learner.
28:07Okay, let's talk about La Voix and Ali Ash. They're doing a jive.
28:10Mina, her American Smooth was, well, smooth. But how's La Voix handling the pace of the jive?
28:17Do you know what? Looking at rehearsals here, better than what I expected.
28:21She's not here. She might throw a shoe at me.
28:25I was worried because the jive just seemed really... It is a very fast-paced, energetic dance.
28:30And I wasn't sure if our queen was more suited for the slower dancers. So last week was brilliant.
28:36But looking at that, I think she's going to smash it, yeah.
28:39Yes, and La Voix is such a confident performer. How much are you enjoying having her on Strictly?
28:44Oh, I mean, she's great. Was Ali Ash also wearing a La Voix T-shirt there?
28:48Like, did he bake that? Did she bring that in? What's the deal there?
28:51Is she bringing her merch in? Love that, if that's the case, babe.
28:53Okay, well, now it's time for you to make one of the hardest decisions of your life.
28:58Who do you think is leaving the competition this weekend?
29:01Mina, start with you. I'm really sorry to say this.
29:05Chris and Nadia. Oh, I whine. Who are you thinking?
29:08Oh, do you know what? I hate to say it, but yeah.
29:11Chris! Oh, my gosh.
29:13Natasha, now I feel bad.
29:15I know.
29:16I said, what's in Gibita?
29:19Why?
29:22You're going to make me ask me, well, that's not bad now.
29:25They put the same people.
29:26Okay, no pressure.
29:27No pressure.
29:28Well, that's it.
29:29You're the expert, not us.
29:31So we're clearly wrong.
29:32That's true.
29:33The panel has spoken.
29:34Give it up from a Friday panel.
29:39That's it for tonight.
29:40Thank you to all my guests.
29:41Jeannette is here on Monday with an exclusive chat with the first eliminated couple of the series.
29:45Don't forget to catch Tess and Claude at 6.20 tomorrow night on BBC One.
29:49Until then, have a great weekend.
29:51Good night.
29:51Kids, whatever their age or stage, equip them with BBC Fights out.
