00:00I fight for every dollar I make.
00:05How are you going to pay for that?
00:08My junkyard pays the bills.
00:11But my new shop needs to start standing on its own two feet.
00:14What's going on up there, man? It's not looking so hot.
00:16Seriously, what are you guys doing? Is it lunchtime?
00:18My custom shop has the ability to handle any project.
00:22This would be a soup bowl for me.
00:23But it means nothing if no one knows about us.
00:26I cannot have anybody beat me. I'm sorry. I'm just like that.
00:29My team is working every second to build our brand.
00:32Grab a rag and start cleaning.
00:34We'd love to put the Damascus Motors and Andy right on the side of that.
00:37I'd like to see it happen today.
00:38Absolutely.
00:40That sucks. But you've got to take a risk if you're going to succeed.
00:44You're going to have more power on tap than almost anyone on the planet.
00:48Because a reward could be huge.
00:52They say the working class man is history.
00:59Hey, you're pretty.
01:02Not in my yard.
01:04Give me something busted or wrecked.
01:08I'll fix it up or strip it down.
01:12Either way, I'm making money.
01:14I'm Andy Cohen.
01:16This is my junk, my people, my empire.
01:20My world is cars and speed.
01:33And there's one that started it all.
01:37The Mad Max Interceptor.
01:39I have an original from the 1979 movie.
01:44It's iconic, classic, and definitely not for sale.
01:48I spent decades looking for the real thing.
01:51And now that I have it in my possession, I will never let it go.
01:55It always attracts attention.
01:58After all these years, I'm giving it the upgrade that it deserves.
02:01Hey, Tommy.
02:05What's up?
02:06I don't have any hazard switch in here.
02:08If I break down, I got nothing.
02:09There's no hazard switch?
02:10I got no hazard switch.
02:11These Australians do not put hazard switches in their cars.
02:15I need hazard lights.
02:16I want to replace the blower with a real blower.
02:19So I want to do some research.
02:20I want to find out who makes a blower for a 351 Cleveland.
02:24Because this is a motor that hasn't been made forever.
02:26Why do you want to take the blower off?
02:28Man, imagine if we put a real one on with a real Scott hat and injection.
02:32I mean, how cool would that be?
02:33It's cool, but it's kind of more cool that it's a movie car.
02:36And you can pull the little lever and it starts spinning.
02:39Tommy's one of my oldest friends.
02:41And I value his opinion.
02:42But right now, he doesn't know what he's talking about.
02:45I want to go faster.
02:47I mean, are you really going to race this thing?
02:48No, I'm not going to race it, but I'm going to go faster.
02:51Installing a real blower would force more air into the engine
02:54and boost the interceptor's horsepower dramatically.
02:58Research the blower.
02:58I just want to at least find out how much it is.
03:09I'm just like that.
03:11I think Andy's crazy for trying to take the fake blower off this car.
03:14Putting a real blower on it doesn't make any sense to me at all.
03:16I mean, the movie car didn't have a real blower.
03:19I don't know, man.
03:20I mean, this is an original car.
03:21I mean, it only made 10 of these things.
03:23I mean, that's going to tear your value up just taking this thing off.
03:25I mean, this is like...
03:26It's not going to tear the value up.
03:28This is part of the cool factor, man.
03:28First of all, I'm never selling it.
03:30I love the car.
03:30It will never leave my possession until I'm dead.
03:33And then my daughter can have it, and I have it in the will that she can't sell the car.
03:36No one will know the difference when the blower is spinning,
03:38except for when they pull up next to me.
03:42All right, man.
03:44All right.
03:44Your name's on the building.
03:45That's right.
03:45All right.
03:46The trailer caught on fire.
04:02Fire starts to spread.
04:03Smoke starts to spread inside the trailer.
04:06Racing fuel starts to catch on fire.
04:08Shut down 95 for five hours.
04:12The soot from the fire damaged his race car and derailed his racing season.
04:18Mo holds multiple records in the 10.5-inch tire racing class,
04:22and he's a legend in the sport.
04:25Wow.
04:26He is lucky.
04:27His car didn't burn to the ground.
04:29The trailer is totaled, but Mo's Camaro survived the fire.
04:35Working on race cars is a really specialized trade.
04:38There's very few people who can do it.
04:50It broke.
04:51Somehow, someway, the front of the trailer snapped off,
04:53and the generator's got a big old fuel cell in the front of it.
04:56It caught on fire.
04:56Wow.
04:57It was a blast.
04:58Wow.
04:58Phone trucks involved.
05:00Oh, they had to call us phone trucks.
05:01It's always good.
05:02No way.
05:02Yeah, absolutely.
05:03That is awesome, man.
05:04When you win, you win big.
05:05When you catch fire, you catch fire big.
05:07You do it all big.
05:07What do we need to do?
05:08We need to pull the motor apart and get the motor freshened up.
05:11Yeah?
05:11Did you have issues from the fire because of the motor?
05:13Is there something wrong with the motor because of that?
05:15Yeah, valve's sticking just because of smoke damage.
05:18Right.
05:18Rings and pistons.
05:19We need to get some clearance on the cylinder walls.
05:22Mm-hmm.
05:22Just needs to come apart, get cleaned, put it back together.
05:24Make sure everything's fine.
05:26Check it.
05:26Put it back together.
05:27All right.
05:27So we got a couple days to go through the motor?
05:29Day and a half.
05:30Thumbs up, man.
05:31I'm all in.
05:31I know it's a time crunch, but with big risks come big rewards.
05:35If I can get my name next to Mohaw's, it's a huge boob for business.
05:40At Damascus, we take old cars and turn them into show quality pieces.
05:44But the junkyard is the heart of my operation.
05:49It is crucial to my bottom line.
05:52While I'm up working at Damascus, I leave my dad down at the junkyard to make the tough
05:56decisions.
05:57How long, Tim?
05:59Hour or less?
06:00Tim's on how I turn up the heat.
06:01We can have them ready in 20 minutes.
06:02We can have them ready in two hours.
06:04Mm.
06:07Well, I think we ought to have it ready in about an hour.
06:10Okay.
06:10Maybe a little less because we are going to put 16 on.
06:13We do a Weenie Wednesday every Wednesday.
06:16Bob brings his weenies and Tim heats them up.
06:18That's our favorite day.
06:20The junkyard crew work their tails off every day.
06:25Timmy handles the front desk.
06:28Quang handles all the walk-ins.
06:31And Danny runs a real tight ship out in the yard.
06:37Weenie Wednesday is a thank you for their hard work.
06:40It is Weenie Wednesday, but we got two hours before they're done, Danny.
06:46Get the hell out in the yard and do some work.
06:48All right, I'll let you know when they're sweating.
06:50I want to be the first to know.
06:56Hey, man.
06:57You got a second?
06:58Yep.
06:58I got the quarter numbers here.
07:00You want to take a look at them?
07:02Damascus Motors does more than just refurbished cars.
07:05We sell them, too.
07:06Colin, my sales manager, is bringing me the quarterly reports.
07:10He's a hard worker and full of confidence, but his enthusiasm is useless unless it generates
07:15some sales.
07:15What's going on out there, man?
07:19It's not looking so hot.
07:21Well, if you're going by amount of cars we have in the showroom versus sales, you have
07:26to factor in that we do have a bunch of cars out there that are just for, you know, show.
07:30There's got to be some other way we can make money off those cars that are sitting there
07:33that we don't have for sale.
07:34Like your Mad Max, the Ford GT, the blue truck, John 69 Chevelle.
07:39Well, first of all, why don't you pull some cars out of there that we're not selling and
07:41put some cars in there that are for sale.
07:43So you say, let me look what else I have to offer.
07:45There are a lot of car shows that are around here.
07:47I figure we could probably slap our name on the side of a door, maybe on a hood decal.
07:51Yeah, no, anything that'll get us promotional value, then just let me know and we'll get
07:55the stuff up there.
07:56Cool.
07:56Getting our name out there is what it's all about.
07:58Oh, one other thing about Mad Max while I got you in here.
08:00I did some research on putting a real blower on there instead of a fake one.
08:05Are you sure you want to do it?
08:05It's really expensive.
08:07I'm not worried about the money, man.
08:09You can't put a price on coolness.
08:11I know Andy doesn't have a problem spending money on Mad Max.
08:14The problem is we just don't have any spare mechanics at the moment.
08:17I mean, I'll tell him to stop and, you know, have that be number one priorities, but...
08:21Well, don't...
08:22I don't want to take anything off from money that we're making, so just keep making money
08:26and then let me know when we get slow.
08:27Get me a list of what our big jobs are, and that way I can kind of figure out where to
08:30fit it in.
08:31Sounds good.
08:31Let me get these, and then we'll go from there.
08:33All right.
08:33See you later.
08:34A real blower would be awesome on The Interceptor, but I'm not losing business over it.
08:40If Colin says there's no room on the schedule, then I guess the fake one's just going to
08:43have to do for now.
08:50Andrew, what are you doing?
08:51I'm cleaning it up, Bob.
08:53For what?
08:55Advertising.
08:56What advertising?
08:57Think like a businessman.
08:59What?
08:59This is the iconic car out of a movie.
09:02What do you think I'm going to do?
09:05I don't know.
09:05Put it in a parade?
09:07Take a guess again.
09:08Put it back into the movies?
09:10No.
09:10Keep guessing.
09:12I don't have...
09:13Well, I don't know.
09:13Put it in a car show?
09:15Exactly right.
09:15Take it to a car show.
09:17Everybody's going to come to this car.
09:19Everybody's going to be around it.
09:20Pass out our cards.
09:21Explain what we do here.
09:23It is like a magnet for people.
09:25This is not that bad of an idea.
09:29So grab a rag and start cleaning.
09:30No, no.
09:31Let's take a drive.
09:32All right.
09:33You know what?
09:33I'll drive.
09:34Yeah, go ahead.
09:35You get in.
09:35I'll drive.
09:37Wait a minute.
09:38Where's the steering wheel?
09:44Bob, leave my s*** alone.
09:46A freak of one.
09:47Here we come.
09:51Do they pay you to take this to a car show?
09:54They will, Bob.
09:54They're coming out with the new movies.
09:56Man, this car is going to be an absolute hit.
10:04Something ain't running right.
10:06Oh, f***.
10:07What's that?
10:08Nah, something ain't right.
10:11This is not good.
10:17Come on, baby.
10:18Come on.
10:20We really are broke.
10:22Yeah.
10:22What do you think is wrong with it?
10:25I think it's a bad sensor.
10:26I think the, uh...
10:28Man, I don't think it's getting the right readings.
10:30How about this one?
10:34I'm better.
10:39There's a gas station down the road.
10:40I'll go walk down there and get some money.
10:43If somebody should stop and want to buy it,
10:45how much should I sell it to them for?
10:47No.
10:47Man, I hope I don't see anybody I know.
10:50This is really embarrassing.
10:56Bob, you gotta get back in the gym.
10:58Man, let me tell you, that's enough pushing.
11:00The Mad Max left my dad and I stranded on the side of the road.
11:04What do you think's wrong with it?
11:05I think it's a bad sensor.
11:07After an expensive tow, I'm back in the mechanic's bed.
11:10I wanted to install a real blower on Mad Max,
11:13but the mechanic's shop is slammed with real work.
11:16I'll tell them to stop and, you know,
11:17have that be number one priority, but...
11:19Well, don't...
11:20I don't want to take anything off from money that we're making.
11:22And now that the car's not running,
11:24the blower is the last thing on my mind.
11:26What happened?
11:27I can't believe it.
11:27Why are you guys walking?
11:28It broke down, man.
11:29I don't know.
11:30Something fuel.
11:30How broken is broken down?
11:32It's not bad.
11:32I just booked this for $5,000 at a trip.
11:36What do you mean?
11:36Booked it where?
11:37I booked it up in Erie, Pennsylvania.
11:39You said you wanted me to figure out a way to market it
11:41and maybe rent it out or...
11:42That's awesome, man.
11:43Yeah.
11:43Good job.
11:43Yeah, but...
11:44$5,000.
11:45Yeah, well, do you want me to call the guy and cancel?
11:47Nope.
11:47No, no, no, no.
11:48Are you sure?
11:49Positive.
11:49All good.
11:50The only time you would cancel is about four hours after
11:53the show should have started and we're not there.
11:56Then you call...
11:56I'll keep that in mind, Hollywood.
11:57Yes.
12:02Everybody, it's Weenie Wednesday.
12:05Time for weenies.
12:07All right, Quang, I'm going to flip a coin.
12:11Call heads or tails?
12:13Head.
12:14Heads?
12:14Yes.
12:16What did you do, head?
12:18You won, man.
12:19You won.
12:20Oh, heads?
12:20Yeah, you won.
12:21You know what that means?
12:23You know what that means?
12:24That means you get to go around and take everybody's hot dog
12:27order.
12:27I want ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper, relish.
12:33Don't screw my hot dog up.
12:34Don't screw my hot dog up.
12:36Okay, that's good.
12:37That's good.
12:37That's good.
12:37That's good.
12:38You cannot beat Weenie Wednesday.
12:41It's my favorite day of the week.
12:43You want a hot dog?
12:44Come on, man.
12:45It's Weenie Wednesday.
12:47Amigo, you need one more?
12:50I got to show them where the car is at.
12:51No problem, bud.
12:54Danny, I got a toilet paper and napkin here.
12:55Is it toilet paper or napkin?
12:57Yeah, that's not the toilet paper.
12:59It's toilet paper.
13:00No problem, bud.
13:01Quang.
13:01Yes, sir?
13:03You've done such a great job.
13:04I'm going to make you a hot dog.
13:06What do you want on your hot dog?
13:07Here.
13:08Ketchup number one.
13:09That's it.
13:09That's it?
13:10Ketchup number one?
13:11Number one.
13:12Good job.
13:13That's it.
13:14Thank you, sir.
13:15All right.
13:17Yum, yum.
13:19And where else can you work at that they have Weenie Wednesdays?
13:22What's up?
13:22You want hot dog, sir?
13:24Why not?
13:25This is Wednesday.
13:30Andy's trying to cash in on all the car shows.
13:34I've got an idea to put our name in front of everybody for a solid year.
13:40Colin.
13:42Hey, what's up, man?
13:43Nothing much.
13:44Listen, I've come up with an idea, and I need your help.
13:48Is that what the sunglasses are for?
13:49Yes, indeed.
13:50I'm going completely Hollywood on you.
13:52My idea is I want to do a calendar for the car lot and the junkyard, like six pictures
14:02of either cars or motorcycles, and then six pictures of stuff we do down at the yard.
14:08I need you to come down to the yard to do the photographing.
14:12You sure Andy's going to let me?
14:13He has me running things up here.
14:14I can get us past that.
14:15I think the idea of the calendars and putting them out for everybody.
14:19Hey, you're the director.
14:20You've got the sunglasses.
14:21You know what you're talking about.
14:22That's exactly right.
14:22I tell you what, you're going to make a natural for this.
14:25I've been trying to get Moe Hall's business for years.
14:32He's at the top of his sport, holding multiple records with his tricked-out Camaro.
14:38But when the trailer holding his car caught on fire, he needed help.
14:45This is my one chance that I can prove Damascus can handle the pressure.
14:50It's coming up all right, Moe?
14:51Yes, sir.
14:52This race car is Moe's bread and butter.
14:55No one knows the ins and outs better than him.
14:58But my guys are up for the challenge.
15:00We'll have him back out on the track winning heats in no time.
15:04So is the intake loose?
15:06The intake is loose.
15:07The intake stays on during the process.
15:09You take both heads off?
15:10Yes.
15:11The intake.
15:12Take both heads off with the intake on.
15:14This heads moments away.
15:16This stuff is so cool.
15:18This is why I want to have it in my shop.
15:19I mean, this just blows my mind.
15:20I'm so interested.
15:21I'm so intrigued.
15:22I so want to learn about everything that goes on with this whole setup.
15:28Make sure them things are clean.
15:29You leave anything in there, we're talking about costing us around.
15:32At this point in the season, we can't lose any.
15:34I can promise you one thing.
15:35I will not be the one costing you around.
15:37My man.
15:38This motor makes so much horsepower that people don't understand that the littlest speck of dirt, the littlest piece of whatever that's sitting there, this little something like of nothing, can cost it 100 horsepower.
15:55Everything has to be 100 percent perfect.
15:57You cannot have any soot from any fire inside this engine.
16:01I'd actually eat dinner off of this right here.
16:04This would be a soup bowl for me.
16:05How long did it take you to get to be the fastest nitrous car?
16:09I mean, how long have you been doing it?
16:10We've had this specific car for nine years now.
16:14We set the record for nitrous three years ago, and we've just reset it every single year.
16:18Right.
16:19Now we're up in the top five of all the class, so take the blower, the turbo, nitrous, the whole combination.
16:24We're in the top five of the complete group, but we're the fastest nitrous by far now.
16:31Mo's been racing this Camaro for almost a decade, holding records in the eighth-mile nitrous class.
16:38His engine generates close to 4,500 horsepower while almost reaching speeds up to 200 miles an hour.
16:45When you had the fire in the trailer, I'm figuring soot got everywhere.
16:50Yeah, what you're concerned about is the stem of this valve.
16:53So when we shut these motors off, the valves are open or closed wherever the cylinder may be.
16:59We leave the plugs out to air out the cylinders and blow the extra fuel out.
17:02So you've got soot going in that cylinder.
17:03So you've got soot going in that cylinder.
17:04That's all we're trying to do is just make sure everything flows free, runs free.
17:07Clean it up.
17:08Clean it up to make it as—
17:09Put it back together.
17:10Yeah, make it the best piece that you can make it.
17:12It pays to just look at every little piece.
17:14It doesn't cost anything to pull it apart and look.
17:16Right.
17:21While my team finishes up Mo's race car, I've got my own car to worry about.
17:27My A-Tech Doug had a hole in the schedule and got my Mad Max on the lift.
17:31Hopefully, it'll be a quick fix because it's booked up for a cult film festival this weekend,
17:37and I'm not about to give up a $5,000 payday.
17:41All right, man.
17:43We looking good?
17:44Nope.
17:45Why?
17:45You've got oil dripping everywhere.
17:46All the way up there.
17:47See it?
17:48Coming down?
17:49That's not a good—
17:49So the end seal from side to side.
17:52Plus, you've got a mess in it.
17:53I've got, like—I don't know what lifter it is.
17:55It's either lifter and cylinder four or cylinder six, but—
17:59Andy's planning to put this thing on a show on Saturday.
18:02I don't think he's going to get it down there.
18:03So the intake's got to come off to fix this thing.
18:06There's just no way around it.
18:12I'm working against the clock at Damascus to get two projects out the door.
18:16My team is almost finished cleaning out the soot in Moe's race car caused by the fire.
18:23But back in the mechanic bay, Doug found a huge problem with my Mad Max.
18:27So the intake's got to come off to fix this thing.
18:29I've got to have it running this weekend.
18:31I've got a $5,000 payday to bring it to a film festival in Erie, Pennsylvania.
18:36And since Doug's schedule is full of paying customers, I'm running out of options.
18:42We're so tight in here.
18:44If you've got to have this thing done, you tell me what you want me to do.
18:52I'll tell you what I'm going to do.
18:54I'm going to call my guys up in California.
18:56I'm going to tell them to come out and put a real boiler on this.
18:58I can't pull Doug off his other projects, so I'm bringing in the muscle.
19:02If I have to change the intake on the car, I might as well do what I always wanted.
19:06I'm going to put on a real blower.
19:08And to do the job right, I'm bringing in some guys from California.
19:11They do this every day.
19:12It'll be cool with a new blower.
19:14I hate having to do it.
19:15I hate having to be under a timeline, but I'm doing it.
19:18I'm calling them because it's a mess.
19:20I don't need all this aggro.
19:21It's always a mess.
19:22So let's fix it.
19:23All right.
19:24Let me know what I've got to do.
19:28While I was sorting out the work on Mad Max, Mo and the rest of my team were finishing
19:33up the Camaro.
19:35They stripped the motor all the way down to the block.
19:38New rings, new pistons, new bearings.
19:41The pressure is on.
19:42If we did everything right and Mo's car runs well this weekend, Damascus will take off.
19:48Everything done?
19:49Everything's wrapped up, complete.
19:50We're ready.
19:51We'll push her in the trailer and we're going to keep our fingers crossed.
19:53That's what I'd like to hear, man.
19:54I appreciate you giving me the opportunity.
19:56We'll see if he gets down into the four teens is what I'm hoping for.
20:02Maybe faster.
20:03And if he goes in the 20s, then we know we have a lot more work to do.
20:12Bobby's got me working on a calendar of the shop and the junkyard to give to our customers.
20:16So today, I'm out taking pictures.
20:22I'm taking some photos of the showroom and a mix of junkyard relics.
20:27Get a couple of these, see what Bobby thinks.
20:30Never been in a junkyard before, so this should be kind of cool.
20:34I've got everything that Bobby could possibly want.
20:37I'll make a proof of the calendar and have Bobby take a look at it.
20:42Two events this weekend could change my business forever.
20:45Everything has to be 100% perfect.
20:47You cannot have any soot from any fire inside this engine.
20:52Moe's engine is clean.
20:53There's no trace of the fire.
20:55He's ready for the race this weekend.
20:57The Mad Max guys are on their way from California.
21:00They're going to install the real blower and the car is going to be ready for the show on Sunday.
21:04I want to go faster.
21:05I mean, are you really going to race this thing?
21:07No, I'm not going to race it, but I'm going to go faster.
21:09But the work never ends.
21:11I just got a new set of junkers in at the yard.
21:13It's time to get my hands dirty.
21:16The problem is we are short-handed, so I've got to come out and do some stuff.
21:25Hey, did you pay for that?
21:27Hey, you've got to pay for that.
21:28What is this guy doing?
21:29Dude, what are you doing?
21:31Hey, Andy.
21:32He's taking a tire.
21:34I'm sorry.
21:35I'm sorry.
21:35I'm sorry.
21:35He didn't pay for the tire.
21:41Ask him for the receipt.
21:42He won't show me the receipt.
21:44He did not pay for the tire.
21:46Hold me down.
21:47No.
21:48He didn't pay for it.
21:51Where's the receipt?
21:54Yeah, then you ain't coming down.
21:56I'm calling the police.
21:57They always give you a receipt.
21:58Tell him that tire's now $100.
22:01He said the tire's $100 now.
22:05I said you lift them up higher.
22:06No problem.
22:10I got the $100.
22:12What an idiot.
22:13Tell him don't ever come back.
22:17When he puts you down, you leave, and you don't ever come back.
22:29You're an idiot.
22:30I'm suing your .
22:31You're an idiot.
22:32I'm suing you.
22:33You're an idiot.
22:33I'm suing you.
22:34What a moron.
22:37I guess the guy was trying to steal a tire.
22:39That's what they do, man.
22:40They run out this side of the gate and not go back
22:42through the office, and that kind of stuff
22:45happens all the time.
22:46They just pick their car up.
22:47What are they going to do?
22:47They can't go anywhere.
23:02There are only two days left before I pick up
23:04my $5,000 in Erie, PA.
23:07But to get it, Mad Max has got to be running.
23:09I'm moving Max back to my house so the guys from California
23:13will have no distractions.
23:15They're on their way, and in order to save time,
23:17I'm having my buddy Jim come in and prep the motor.
23:20He's my personal engine guru, and I would trust no one else.
23:25Mm, mm, mm.
23:27That is not good.
23:28I just happened to be walking by the car,
23:30and I saw, I looked down in a port,
23:32and I saw a little hole, and I was like,
23:34you have got to be kidding me.
23:35That hole was not supposed to be there.
23:37Wowee, that really sucks.
23:38That's a potential setback right there.
23:41I don't know how he wants to fix that.
23:43I told you it was close, Jim.
23:47The existing engine in Max is old,
23:51so to make the new blower fit,
23:53some modifications are necessary.
23:55The new pushrods need some room for clearance,
23:58so to make them fit, Jim was grinding the ports
24:01of the cylinder heads.
24:02But unfortunately, he broke through on the intake chamber.
24:05It's going to delay because we have to clean it when we're done,
24:09put the epoxy on it, and let it set up.
24:12It's the best repair we can do.
24:14So instead of prepping Max for the experts,
24:17I now have to fill the hole with epoxy and allow it to cure.
24:20They had a tight schedule to begin with,
24:22so if they don't work fast,
24:24Max will never make it to the premiere this weekend.
24:26The clock is ticking towards the big event.
24:33While the guys were traveling to my house,
24:36Jim punctured the intake chamber.
24:38He set the epoxy, and it's almost cured.
24:40All right, man, here's what we got.
24:42Just in time, too, because the boys have arrived.
24:46Dave, Dee, and Troy have made careers
24:51out of working on interceptors.
24:53Don't sort out the mechanical issues.
24:55And finally, give me the blower that I've always wanted.
24:59Not everyone thinks I should put a real blower on Max.
25:02Why do you want to take the blower off?
25:03But I think the experts will agree with me.
25:06What do you guys think about putting a real blower on this car?
25:09Well, I think a real blower is the only way to go.
25:11If you have a system that works right, looks right,
25:15is as close to movie correct as you can make it,
25:17and you can have power at the same time, right?
25:20And I love the fact that we're using the original Scott injection
25:23that you've modified to make it work.
25:25You're going to have more power on tap
25:26than almost anyone on the planet with a Mad Max car.
25:29Most of our clients want the superhero function
25:32of being able to turn the blower on and off,
25:35but it doesn't give you the power when you flip that switch.
25:37It just looks cool.
25:38You're going to have the real power on tap
25:40the second you nail that throttle.
25:42A blower increases horsepower
25:44by rapidly forcing air into the intake.
25:47With the additional air, the engine can burn more fuel per cycle,
25:52effectively causing it to double its horsepower,
25:55which is exactly what I'm looking for.
25:58This blower will separate my Mad Max from all others.
26:02You guys want to look at some other stuff out in the car
26:04and make sure that there's nothing to see there
26:06that's going to say, whoa, whoa, whoa, we need this?
26:08Yeah, anything we're missing?
26:09Yep.
26:09Reach in and pulse gently.
26:15Oh, I feel it.
26:17How awesome is that?
26:18That is a work of art right there.
26:18Look at that.
26:19This is the hat to the Scott injection
26:22that I want to not put it on.
26:23I just want to go put it up on my mantel.
26:25Wow, look at that.
26:27I'm going to take this with me.
26:28You guys can go somewhere else.
26:30This is coveted.
26:32This is your gift.
26:33Oh, look at that.
26:34The movie correct.
26:35That is the movie pulley.
26:37The movie correct pulley.
26:38That is definitely going on.
26:39Yeah.
26:41Love it.
26:42Finally, all the pieces are here.
26:44Now the boys can get to work.
26:51Ignition.
26:52This is going to fall this way.
26:53Go to number, the purple wire on that.
26:58I got the best guys in the business.
27:00I feel very confident that they will get the job done.
27:02I just want to get out of here.
27:03I want to let them go to work
27:04and then hopefully we'll be good.
27:09All right, what have we come up with here?
27:11I have about 15 or so different ones
27:13that we can choose from.
27:14Here's one just for the whole line.
27:16I'm sitting down with Colin
27:17and we're going to go through the pictures
27:19that he took for the calendar.
27:22This is a surprise for Andrew,
27:24so it better be perfect.
27:26I think I like the overall,
27:28the first shot with the chicken on top.
27:30The calendar is a great idea for advertising.
27:34That's a beautiful shot of the Nova.
27:37Now the thing that I like about the calendar is
27:39that we're going to have a shot at these people
27:43for 12 months of the year.
27:45If they don't call in the sixth month,
27:47on the ninth month when something goes bad,
27:50our name is still up on their wall
27:52and we're going to get the advertising for the whole year.
27:55Colin has done a great job
27:57of putting this calendar together.
27:59I know Andy's going to love it.
28:02Give me a day.
28:03It's all really I should take to have it all done.
28:05I'll have them all printed out
28:06and then we can start handing them out to people.
28:07That is going to be the greatest.
28:09I know that Andy will like all of this stuff.
28:11Sounds good, man.
28:12We got it all.
28:13Yes, sir.
28:13That's great.
28:14All right.
28:14All right, Hollywood.
28:15I'll see you later, man.
28:15That's Mr. Hollywood.
28:17Don't you forget it.
28:18I shall not, sir.
28:19All right.
28:23Hey, Quang.
28:24Yes, sir?
28:25Can you help the customer?
28:25Oh, what's up, boss?
28:27Hey, man.
28:28Looking for a transmission?
28:30What year?
28:322005.
28:33Ford Focus.
28:37Yeah, I have one.
28:39750.
28:40750.
28:44All right.
28:45I'll do it.
28:46Do it?
28:46Yeah.
28:47Hey, Danny.
28:47Danny.
28:47Danny.
28:48Danny.
28:49How long is it going to take?
28:51I need a transmission in the counter, please,
28:55for customers, please.
28:56All right.
28:56I'll be in there one second.
28:58That's the people waiting for me.
28:59OK, man.
29:02All right.
29:03It's going to take me a few minutes.
29:03I've got to pull it from the top shelf, probably about 15,
29:0720 minutes.
29:07All right?
29:07All right.
29:07Cool.
29:12You want a hot dog?
29:14Sure.
29:15Because you buy about $600.
29:17You spend $600 in the free hot dog.
29:19So I just bought a $150 hot dog?
29:21Yes.
29:22Do you have gloves or something?
29:23No, I don't have gloves.
29:25Well, what were you doing before I came in here with your hands?
29:29Mm-hmm.
29:30Remember, if I get quarantined, I'm going to know exactly where I got it from.
29:33Don't worry about that.
29:34All right.
29:34We should throw it.
29:35OK.
29:36You can keep your toilet paper.
29:39Say thank you.
29:39No, thank you.
29:43Come on up.
29:44Come on up.
29:45More and more.
29:46Up.
29:46Up.
29:47Reva.
29:48All right.
29:49Hold it.
29:50Take me in a little bit.
29:50Let me check the stock number first.
29:52Over here.
29:53Come on.
29:55All right.
29:55Hold.
29:56Hold.
30:00You wouldn't believe I'm scared of the heights also.
30:06Let's take it up there and knock the dust off a little bit.
30:08We need to stamp it.
30:10That way, if they bring it back, we know it's ours.
30:12Let's get this customer out here.
30:13His wife's waiting on them.
30:14All right.
30:14All right.
30:20Good morning, Eddie.
30:24Quang is the face of the junkyard, and no one is better than him with the customers.
30:29There's something to say, man.
30:30Come on, man.
30:31I like it.
30:32Once again, sir.
30:32Thank you very much.
30:33All right.
30:34How about this?
30:35Good help, sir.
30:36How many do you want?
30:37Two?
30:38I got two right here.
30:39Yeah, bring the cash money here, OK?
30:40I don't want to check my job, take care of the customers, answer on the phone, sell the
30:46phone, talk no good, replay the customers, talk nice to customers.
30:52That's what I do.
30:54Believe me, man.
30:56Right there.
30:56It's a good time.
30:57I don't understand what English he's saying half the time, much less Vietnamese.
31:02He is always good for a few laughs.
31:07I'm taking Quang to the club.
31:09We're going to pick up some chicks.
31:11No, I am a South Saigon.
31:13Yeah, North.
31:17Ooh.
31:19I got two brothers.
31:21I'm always fighting.
31:22The next day they're all right.
31:23Just me and Quang.
31:24Still love you, OK?
31:26There is no one else like him in the business.
31:30I said order lunch.
31:32I know.
31:32Not some big, giant fish on a platter.
31:35I only need a picture, the menu.
31:37I said I need to fit with the rice.
31:40Well, they gave you fish.
31:44That is nasty, man.
31:47It's like a big pumpkin pie.
31:53Hello, Andy, all the folks.
31:54This weekend could be the biggest opportunity I've had to build my brand.
32:09Tomorrow, Moe Hall hits the track for the first time since the fire.
32:13We fixed up the Camaro, but my nerves are on edge until he flies down that lane.
32:19Then I'm off to the film fest where Mad Max is going to be star of the show.
32:23With all the work I have to do, there is no room for error.
32:26If I mess up now, I'm out five grand.
32:29I'm going home to check on the progress.
32:34But first, I've got to swing by and meet with my dad.
32:36God knows what for.
32:39Seriously, what are you guys doing?
32:40Is it lunchtime?
32:41No.
32:42We're sitting here talking.
32:42I know you guys didn't call me in here to play pool.
32:44No, we didn't call you in to play pool.
32:46We called you in to aggravate you.
32:49Well, it's a success.
32:51We do pretty good at that.
32:52Thumbs up, you're there.
32:52We always do it.
32:54Colin and I did this for the advertising of the place, and we made up a calendar that'll
33:00be in front of somebody for a year.
33:02This is one of the proofs that we're going to give you.
33:06We did it.
33:07Can I make one suggestion?
33:08Yes, you can.
33:09Maybe put our name on it.
33:11It is on the front.
33:12Well, when you're looking at the calendar for the year, you've got 12 pages now that
33:17nobody's going to have our name.
33:19He does have a point there.
33:21Seriously.
33:21All right, we'll put our name down here.
33:26We just need to actually have our name on it if you want to consider it advertising.
33:31Good thought, good pictures.
33:32Colin, let's go eat lunch.
33:34All right, what's he in the mood for?
33:35Yeah, let's go eat pizza.
33:36All right.
33:37And we'll charge it to him.
33:38They removed the intake to fix the oil leak and built a real blower from scratch.
33:53But if the car doesn't fire up, I'm going to have to cancel my appearance on Sunday and
33:58lose out on my five grand.
33:59Oh, I see what he's doing.
34:00That's the spring.
34:01So we're shutting the spring off is what we're doing.
34:03Bingo.
34:04With a system like this, if the car flat out in high gear can do about 120 miles an hour
34:10and you add those six pounds of boost, that car is now going to be able to do 150 miles
34:14now.
34:16I'll let you have the honors.
34:18When you set that on there, just roll that in.
34:20So we'll bring that up like that.
34:25We'll tie wrap that.
34:26We'll bring the idle air control line down.
34:28We'll bring the fuel line down all in one bundle.
34:30And it'll look sweet.
34:31This thing's going to just blast.
34:35That is awesome.
34:40What do you think?
34:41I think you guys must have busted your a** to get this thing on there.
34:45There is no a** left.
34:46No.
34:47Who needs sleep?
34:48The BDS boiler looks so good.
34:50I can't even tell you how good the Scott injection looks.
34:53That is the coolest injection I've ever seen.
34:55I want it on all my cars, man.
34:57That is just so flippin' cool.
34:59I mean, to have this be like my number one car and the car that started it all and to see
35:03this thing sitting up there is just, it's emotional.
35:07It's awesome.
35:08Ready to light it?
35:09Come on, let's go, man.
35:13Three, two, one.
35:16Light it.
35:20That's what I'm talking about right there.
35:30Air fuel, RPM, voltage.
35:39So cool.
35:41It's actually running excellent.
35:44182 degrees, exactly where they're supposed to.
35:46Absolutely.
35:47Man, that is just flippin' awesome.
35:52I cannot buy, I just can't believe you guys did it.
35:55Congratulations.
35:56Thank you, man.
35:57I really, really, really appreciate it.
35:59I cannot believe it started up.
36:00You guys are just awesome, man.
36:02Awesome.
36:03I freaking love it.
36:05I'm speechless, man.
36:07I can't believe it.
36:08It actually started.
36:10Mad Max will steal the spotlight at the Cult Film Fest.
36:13This is where the rubber meets the road.
36:27I want Moe to get a great run.
36:29Our name is on the line.
36:31There's a lot of people showing up here.
36:32A lot of people are going to be watching.
36:34And if he does well, we do well.
36:36I'm excited.
36:37So what is the fun of it?
36:39Are you addicted to the speed or are you just looking for a number?
36:41Are you reaching for a certain number or are you reaching for just to win a race?
36:44You know, when we're here testing and we're in the final rounds, we're looking for a number.
36:49We really don't care about winning when we get to the final round.
36:52We just want to, you know, as they say, big ball it.
36:55We want to come out here and run the fastest that anybody's ever run.
36:57The fastest to date is a 402, and we'd like to beat that.
37:00You know, there's money sitting out there to run a 399 on one of these cars,
37:03and we'd love to be the guy to get it.
37:05We'd love to put the Damascus Motors and Andy right on the side of that.
37:08I'd like to see it happen today.
37:09Absolutely.
37:10That's what I'm looking for.
37:11If I've got to get behind and push a little bit, just let me know.
37:13Just right at the start and right would help.
37:14Right.
37:14We'll do it a little tug.
37:20I finally got a crack at working on Mo's race car.
37:23A fast run down the track could be the start of something big for Damascus.
37:32That's no good.
37:32I've waited for years to get Mo's business.
37:39This one run may have ruined everything.
37:45Looks like he spun about a quarter of the way down the track and had to lift, so it wasn't
37:49a full run.
37:51So now they're looking over the track where he started to spin to find out why he spun right
37:55there.
37:59That sucks.
38:05What happened?
38:07Just went right out there.
38:08We're not exactly sure.
38:09We'll go back and look at the data.
38:10I just wanted to get a good starting line for you to see if it was in the chassis or something.
38:13I think it was the track.
38:15Could be.
38:15It looked like the track lifted.
38:17We'll see in a second.
38:18Mo's getting ready to head back for another run, and it's got to be better.
38:22My business and reputation depend on it.
38:44I'd say he's going to be pretty happy with that one.
38:48Well, how'd you do?
38:54407.
38:55Can't complain.
38:56407?
38:57407.
38:58Damn.
39:00407.
39:01That's 4.07 seconds and an eighth mile.
39:04That's over 185 miles an hour.
39:07That is incredible speed.
39:11What's the fastest it's ever gone?
39:12408's the fastest it's ever gone to date.
39:15That's the fastest 60-foot and the fastest eighth mile that it's ever gone.
39:19Fastest 60-foot in the class ever.
39:21That's awesome.
39:22Yep.
39:22That is absolutely awesome.
39:23Can't thank you guys enough.
39:24No, no.
39:25Thanks for letting me play.
39:27I love being able to get out of the office.
39:29Mo's happy, which makes me happy, which means more business for me, hopefully.
39:33Hope it's a positive outlook on how we look.
39:36It's a good day at the track, other than the way I smell.
39:38Well, yesterday, Mo had a big day at the track, but today, it's time for My Max to shine.
39:50The Colt Film Fest is about to begin, and with a new blower, My Max is in a league of its own.
39:57Now watch the front nose, make sure it doesn't hit.
39:59I cannot believe they're going to pay you $5,000 to park your car outside.
40:10Andy, I'm getting too old.
40:12Honest to God, I don't understand this.
40:14That's right, Bob.
40:14You don't understand.
40:15I really don't.
40:16You don't understand the publicity value of this vehicle.
40:19I told you it would make money.
40:21You're right.
40:21I can't argue with you there.
40:23And I'm going to show you right now, because I'm going to collect the money.
40:25Yeah, let's split it up, too.
40:26No.
40:27Oh, yeah.
40:27Sorry.
40:28I'm meeting with Greg, the director of the festival, and he's got a check with my name
40:33on it.
40:34You know, when we go out there and check this out, you're going to be shocked by the reaction
40:38of these fans.
40:38I'm really anxious to see more.
40:39You already know what you're going to expect.
40:40I didn't think they would come down just to see the car.
40:43It's just absolutely incredible that we're here.
40:46I'm glad you took my call.
40:47Yeah.
40:47I'm glad that we're making a deal here, and I guess we have some business to take care of.
40:50Yes, we do.
40:51Yes, we do.
40:52That's why Bobby's smiling.
40:54Bobby's over here.
40:55Yes, we got to eat dinner today.
40:55Make sure you give that to me, not him.
40:57Here you go.
40:58Oh, man.
40:58You guys might have checked that out.
40:59Look at that.
41:00I got one more surprise for you, though.
41:02Really?
41:02Yeah.
41:03You want to come with me?
41:04Yeah, absolutely.
41:04We got somebody I want you to meet.
41:05Okay.
41:06Really?
41:06You guys are going to be really pleased by this, I hope.
41:10Guys, come on back this way.
41:11You might be pretty surprised.
41:13Vernon Wells.
41:14I can't believe this is you.
41:16You're really here.
41:17Vernon Wells played the homicidal biker Wes in the Mad Max series.
41:22If anyone knows what it's like to chase down the Interceptor on the open road, it's him.
41:28I have the black Interceptor, yeah.
41:30I've been searching for one of them for about, I don't know, 20 years just so I can go and
41:33kick the out of it.
41:34Well, come on.
41:35Stay away.
41:35Let's go.
41:37Is there any way to get you outside to sign it?
41:39There you go.
41:39I'll tell you what, I'll come out and tell you if it's a real one.
41:42Okay, go on.
41:43That'll be good.
41:43I think I probably know what they look like.
41:46I would venture to say you do.
41:48Straight out of the wasteland.
41:50That is nice.
41:51How long has it been since you've seen one of these?
41:53A long time.
41:54The only thing missing is Mel and the Dog.
41:57That's right.
41:57That's right.
41:58That's cool.
41:59And the different thing about this one is, is that is real.
42:01That was not a fake turn it on and off one.
42:04Wow.
42:06You want to hear it?
42:07Sure.
42:07You realize that I could go into convulsions because it's going to bring back really bad memories.
42:14Bad?
42:14Come on.
42:29Brings back memories.
42:31It's so cool to have a real blow around the car, to be able to start it up and hear the whine
42:35and hear the belt spinning, and people know that that is raw horsepower underneath the
42:40hood of this car.
42:41Do you want me to put you can run but you can't hide?
42:43Perfect.
42:46This is great.
42:47I mean, what else could you ask for?
42:50Thank you, Vernon.
42:51I appreciate it.
42:51Thanks.
42:52That's okay.
42:52I'll be all back.
42:53See you later.
42:55Oh, that's great.
42:56That's awesome.
42:57Oh, man.
42:57That's...
42:58That's...
42:59...gotten paid.
43:10It's worth the ride.
43:11It was worth meeting him, man.
43:12I would have...
43:12If I would have known he was coming, I would have driven myself.
43:15This weekend was a huge success.
43:18Moe tore up the track.
43:21And my Mad Max was a hit at the festival.
43:24I got the blower I've always wanted.
43:26I got five grand burning a hole in my pocket.
43:29And I got Vernon Wells signature on my Interceptor.
43:32It does not get any better than this.
43:34It does not get any better than this.
43:35It does not get any better than this.
43:36It does not get any better than this.
43:37It does not get any better than this.
43:38It does not get any better than this.
43:39It does not get any better than this.

43:41It does not get any better than this.
43:42It does not get any better than this.
43:43It does not get any better than this.
43:44It does not get any better than this.
43:45It does not get any better than this.
43:46It does not get any better than this.
43:47It does not get any better than this.
43:48It does not get any better than this.
43:49It does not get any better than this.
43:50It does not get any better than this.
43:51It does not get any better than this.
43:52It does not get any better than this.
