00:01this is it the Chevy c10 is one of my favorite trucks what we got so we have a whole
00:07lot of
00:08nothing hey Bill there's no bolts in this bed man if I would have hit a bump this could have
00:12easily fallen off bumper to bumper it's all 100% built right here in the shop 2011 F350 dually
00:20what's up bro man I can't believe you still been riding around like this man I'm overdue right
00:34I'm Bill Carlton I built my first truck when I was 16 and ever since me and my guys have
00:41been out
00:41here creating with our hands building the biggest lowest baddest custom trucks and cars in the game
00:52people don't come here for what they need they come here for what they want this is Texas metal
01:10so today I'm going out to Jose's house meet with him how you doing man good Jose's a repeat customer
01:16which is my favorite in fact the first thing I see is the Kodiak we built for him out front
01:21so
01:23you got a project for me yes sir being that you uh done such a good job on my Kodiak
01:29I got a new one
01:30I'd like for you to take a look at let's see what you got see the old Kodiak still looking
01:34good oh yeah
01:35you see the looks that one gets yeah man this is it this is it man you told me you
01:40had a truck man
01:41you got parts don't get scared I mean it's majority all there this here 1966 Chevrolet C10 solid truck
01:51no rust on it not all no I wouldn't have bought it if it was all rusted right the Chevy
01:57C10 is one
01:58of my favorite trucks with its iconic lines and body style there are endless custom possibilities
02:03so overall looks like it's pretty good condition huh yes sir I've owned the 66 truck about three months
02:08bought it from a neighbor of mine who had tore it down to rebuild it and never got around to
02:14it I
02:14mean of course I want y'all to do a full-on like you did my Kodiak you know that's
02:18always scary to
02:19come in you know second third fourth 20th down the line you don't know what parts are missing it makes
02:25it a little more difficult when it's not a complete vehicle to start with motor we want to see what
02:33it's
02:33got in there so yeah it's gonna be a motor well that's what we like it we just put what
02:38we want
02:38in it right right you know there's a lot of things missing on Jose's truck I mean bumpers windows
02:45everything most people walk up to a project like this and just you know think it should just go
02:50straight to the junkyard there is one thing that I want you to change that's maybe out of the ordinary
02:55I
02:56want you to take this dash out mm-hmm I want you to incorporate this style of dash into the
03:03truck
03:03you're gonna build me you want to cut the dash out of this no no no no not take it
03:06out of this car
03:08Jose is known in Houston for his Impalas he has some of the nicest restorations I've seen
03:13they're real showstoppers we'll get another one but this dash in that just Impala feel yes yes
03:23and then we're gonna paint the style of trim off the Impala on the sides this style I like 61
03:3161 so
03:32you want a Chevy Impala truck basically bringing the Impala side of his life into a truck build I
03:39think it's a perfect fit I mean Impalas are you know prevalent in his life and it's definitely gonna
03:45make this one-of-a-kind truck the end goal is is absolutely to drive it I don't like trailer
03:49in my
03:50stuff you want something you can just jump in drive to California win a car show over there come back
03:55with the trophy in the back drive it there and back that's what I want Jose has a great idea
04:02but at this
04:03point this 50 year old Chevy is basically just parts maybe the biggest challenge is this is one
04:09guy's unfinished work it's gonna take a lot of work to make it right I can't even tell you how
04:20many C10s we build at Extensive more than I can remember so I love combining the best of two
04:25classics the distinctive body design of a C10 and the style and flair of an Impala the key is making
04:32it seamless so you can't tell where one ends and the other begins man I like these trucks this thing's
04:39cool good-looking truck oh what we got oh man I thought there's gonna be something there so we
04:47have a whole lot of nothing so what's the plan we get a long long long long long list for
04:56this truck
04:57I mean we're building the whole truck we're gonna build cross between 66 Chevy and like 60's Impala
05:04truck my plan is a new 62 LS engine and a grill bumper and headlights we'll hand make an air
05:11suspension for 24 inch wheels and tires on the inside we'll swap out that old dash with an actual
05:1760's Impala dash and we'll build one-of-a-kind interior door panels console and seats you know
05:24the cool part is C10s are so popular there's so much readily available thanks man you just jinxed that
05:30for us I did not jinx this all right we'll see we'll see all right finally we'll give this truck
05:37a
05:37full paint job and airbrush Impala trim down the sides there will not be another one like this anywhere
05:44man the airbrush gotta look really badass on this truck make it look cool it does we're gonna call
05:49it you gotta come up with a name huh C10 Alma is that what this is Impasta because it's not
05:57really
05:57an Impala it's a truck Impasta man that does sound good I'm hungry too whatever it's called anytime we
06:05take over someone else's build I'm always worried what we're gonna find but we'll never know for sure
06:10until we tear it down do it man you ready to do this I guess let's just get it on
06:20the lift and start
06:21cutting grab that side of the hood let's pull it out put on top of here for now pull it
06:31up before we
06:33get it back up let's get the glass out pull the bed pull over in then we'll cut the frame
06:39all right
06:46not even bolted hey Bill there's no bolts in this bed man man I hope there is then hauled it
06:53on a
06:54wrecker over here for real it's not both it down check it out but right here over here or in
06:59the back
07:00or on this side oh man more often than not when we get vehicles from other shops there's been corners
07:08cut and those can be dangerous corners I made it here so good thing it didn't and didn't on 59
07:16if I
07:17would have hit a bump this could have easily fallen off we got lucky what's the plan Bill roll it
07:22as far
07:23as we can and take the bed off help us take the bed off real quick
07:34man what's up man what did I tell you about doing side work man man I can do a better
07:41job
07:41man I hope so to make this truck ride low somebody cut a notch right into the frame that weakens
07:49it
07:49and that's no bueno what does that side look like this side is worse yeah they made room to lower
07:55it
07:55but this thing gets an accident gets her ended this thing could fold up break in half I mean we'll
08:01definitely cut that section out you know this trucks like an onion you can just peel back the layers it's
08:07enough to make you cry what happened now no matter what we do is still gonna have the factory frame
08:16under it let's just build a whole new frame front bumper to back bumper there's no sense of wasting
08:22hours and hours and hours trying to clean stuff up like this like this man all this there's no
08:29matter what we do you can't get rid of this just start fresh you know there's no sense even trying
08:34to salvage this frame it'd be faster safer just to build a whole new frame from scratch let's do it
08:47I built at least 60 custom frames over the years each one is completely one of a kind start drawing
08:54the new chassis for the 66 Chevy the way I lay these out on paper or just a quick little
09:00sketch that you
09:02know that's why I've been doing it all my life bumper to bumper it's all hundred percent built right here
09:08in
09:08the shop cool man now we got all these measurements let's transfer them to the table once we have
09:14everything transferred to the table you can start cutting the pieces man so little jigsaw puzzle right
09:21building a custom frame is that's the first thing you do when you're building a custom car everything
09:26a hundred percent level true square we'll go from two by four here at the main tube up to two
09:32by three
09:33there's no compromises or something like that I mean this is the whole foundation for the whole
09:38vehicle so this has to be absolutely perfect you're gonna make two like that 90 degrees all right I'll
09:45take care of this pretty quick quick and perfect and once all right all right man all right how long
09:52if you need bill basically got all the templates cut out all my measurements everything so what I'm
09:58gonna do is cut everything in doubles on our saw I need to go ahead and hurry up and get
10:01this done
10:02properly bill's perfectionist he expects a lot out of me so I need to do a good job
10:24I think we're ready to go yeah Jamie and I are building the custom frame for the 66 Chevy c10
10:36the major advantage of building a full chassis it's just rigidity the looks this is stronger now this
10:46custom frame than the factory frame you know ever imagined be just get it squared real quick 126 and a
10:57half
10:58ready yeah 126 and an eighth on the frame we're dealing with less than 1 16th inch tolerance this
11:05thing needs to be exact our name is on the line and this thing needs to be safe 26 and
11:125 16 the tape
11:14measure is crooked where you're holding it there you go that's it man it looks good man now to mock
11:21up the
11:21positioning of the axle all right ready yeah hi got a little weight to it you know it all works
11:30together
11:31the position of the axle dictates where we install the air suspension which creates the stance of the
11:37truck let me scoot it back a little bit and we'll get a center line where to start from okay
11:41you scoot
11:42back or what yeah I'm good right here on a job like this we'd like to use inch and a
11:46quarter schedule 40
11:47pipe to make the frame more rigid and it's not just function I like that it gives it a unique
11:53look
11:53man it's pretty close a little step closer you know we're just going to keep adding pipes and
11:58weld it to the frame and turn it into a work of art
12:04by the time we're done with this there's going to be probably
12:0985 to 100 feet of just rolled pipe just to make this
12:14over the top you know most people just build frame rails front to back just bare minimal
12:21what I like doing is just creating something totally different something nobody's ever seen before
12:28damn that looks good yeah
12:38I'm so glad our old client julio is coming back to extensive a couple years back we built this 2011
12:44f-350 for him but we have some unfinished business what's up man what's up bro how you been man
12:51all
12:52right yeah good to see you good to see you man the old thing's still looking good yeah it's running
12:58real
12:58good man acquired the 2000 f-350 about two years ago and immediately brought it to extensive to
13:04get the suspension done get a lot of tension bro everywhere i take it from just driving around in
13:10town or towing a two-car hauler which turns a lot of heads hell yeah now we just got to
13:15finish off the
13:15interior obviously i get a lot of props because of the suspension and big wheels the 26 inch forjados a
13:21lot of people look at the vehicle and they are curious to see what the interior looks like so
13:25i had to tint the windows super dark because the interior is not done let's check it out
13:37yeah man i'm overdue right man i can't believe you've still been riding around like this man come
13:42on we're past dude not everyone has the time and the money to do it all at once it's pretty
13:48common to
13:48finish these builds in stages man we need to make the inside of this look just as good better than
13:54the
13:54outside right man i love that dash color man bring that whole color all throughout flow in console
14:00you know definitely cover the seats you know headliner build new door panels i'm all for it
14:06i know uh bill and the crew here at extensible metal works are going to do a great job so
14:11i'm looking forward to it let's go get you hooked up let's do it i know you want some crazy
14:15stereo in
14:16there too let's make it happen not everybody can just come drop off a card and say here you go
14:33let
14:34me know how much i owe you at the end you know sometimes you get projects in that come in
14:38stages
14:39and here we are with julio's truck man he's in for the last little stage of his build been a
14:46long time
14:46coming as you can see it's well worn so we're gonna get him hooked up
14:58the outside of the dually looks fresh and one of a kind so for the interior i'm thinking we'll
15:04color match everything to the dark brown of the dash handmade leather seats custom headliner door
15:11panels kicks and topped off with a slick stereo system we have to start all over so i asked heath
15:25and jonah to rip out all the factory stuff everything i'll go ahead and start unbolting these seats okay
15:30you start jerking off these door panels cool and i don't mean that in a bad way
15:39this truck started out as a work truck the interior's just torn up from daily use but
15:43that's cool you're not gonna be able to recognize it when we're done
15:48you got her
15:58okay i got my chipboard up here it's going to be a template for our console that's going to
16:03actually flow right into our wraparound to do that i need to make a template first that matches all
16:08the way to the dash and then i'm gonna cut it out of some half inch mdf we're going to
16:13do a process
16:13called curfing which will allow me to fold the wood to basically bend it to get our nice little curves
16:19that
16:19we need
16:33the f-350 interior design is well on its way heath is working the console into shape
16:39the lid of this console we have to curve the wood we've got it marked off in a certain segment
16:44where
16:44our curves are and so i'll just go ahead and do a curve on it which will allow me to
16:48fold the wood
16:49we cut it almost all the way through leave the thin layer on top which keeps it attached but allows
16:54you to curve it okay we got all our curfing done as you can see we got our shape it's
16:59going to
16:59curve just like we want to to follow the curve of the console so now i gotta attach it to
17:03my sides
17:04that i already made body work it out make it look cool
17:15once the body filler hardens i sand it smooth and then i bevel the edges this gives it awesome lines
17:20and curves so far julio's f-350 interior is looking great but the part that needs the most attention
17:28is the seats so i got jonah hand making the ultra leather parts for the seat covers
17:35i'm gonna get these two glued together we'll glue the vinyl on here we'll get it pressed in there and
17:39then that should give us the nice look of the dash that we're going for so when working this vinyl
17:43you
17:43want to start from the center and go out if you don't you'll get a bunch of pulled vinyl in
17:48the
17:48wrong spots and there's our insert i can start sewing it in with the rest of my patterns
17:59all right now i have this thing all sewn together we're gonna slip it on here and it should fit
18:03first
18:07try it fits nice and tight and there we have it with the new frame on jose's 66 c10 built
18:16it's time
18:16to start thinking about what's going under the hood jose picked his own engine and it just arrived at the
18:21shop crown of mortars is man six two out of escalate build or stock no this is stock man but
18:27it comes with
18:27400 horsepower stock so should be good to go oh yeah she's yours now man that ain't what i want
18:36to
18:36see jose didn't tell me he's got a six speed dude i knew jose was getting the six two but
18:43the six speed
18:44is way bigger than i expected it's 16 inches man there's no way that's gonna fit underneath there
18:53you gotta cut a huge hole in the tunnel to make room for this thing if stuff like this didn't
18:59happen i wouldn't have nothing to do well in that case you can cut the tunnel out great our only
19:04choice
19:04is cutting a hole in the floor and making it fit hey close the door
19:14you ever punch yourself in the face doing something like that no you of course hold on mate you got
19:21these wires
19:2416. this truck you know there's plenty of room to work with you know later model vehicles you know
19:31you run into a lot of issues of getting into the bottom of the dash the factory ac you know
19:37it's
19:38kind of nice to get a job like this where you can just get in cut it out we're cutting
19:43a hole in the
19:44firewall on the floor that's just big enough for the engine and transmission to fit through
19:51yeah ready yes sir i am ready and here goes nothing come on in pick up right here pick up
20:00more
20:01we're going to check to see if our measurements were correct
20:09that went way easier than i thought it would
20:13while we reinforce and weld this tunnel the engine's going off to get painted
20:26jose is really into the impalas he has a couple of them at his house so what we're going to
20:30do on
20:30this truck is keep the impala theme so to take it over the top we're going to cut this dash
20:35out and
20:36put an impala dash in this truck
20:49now we have the stock dash cut out let's just hope spot can find us an impala dash
21:03so today i'm out hunting in 1960s impala dash luckily houston has one of the largest impala
21:12communities and one of the best places anywhere is run by my boy bruce what's up brother
21:18doing all right he does some truly top-notch restorations himself and usually has whatever
21:23impala parts you need what you looking for today man i'm looking for some parts and pilot parts i hope
21:29for sure specifically one thing dash but for a truck oh a truck yeah we need to find the the
21:37right
21:38length of it and so it'll fit in you won't have any gaps or anything exactly even if we got
21:42to cut it up
21:43so we'll make it fit perfect man you always got all the cool stuff it's my organized mess there you
21:52go
21:52all right here's some of what i got how about this one man that is badass only thing is i
22:00was hoping that
22:01you had the whole dash you know cut out around the windshield if this won't work i have a couple
22:06full
22:07dashes i could let you check out watch your step this one is out of 5960 impala all the gauges
22:17are
22:17complete it has the radio the glove box man i think this is more along the lines of what we're
22:23looking
22:23for i guess the only thing is to talk about is price with 400 by it for bill i'll do
22:30it for 400. man
22:31bet appreciate it let's load it up thank you brother i'll come back talk to you soon cool take
22:38it easy bruce gave us a smoking deal on this dash it's got a little bit of rust but i
22:43think it's
22:44gonna look perfect in this c10 truck get it got it man you're gonna like this one uh-huh
23:10it's clean it's a bottom ain't minus the rust we're gonna cut that off anyway bruce came through
23:18huh man this is the nicest one he had he probably had five or six of them laying around look
23:22at that
23:22quite a few man pieces and parts everything man that thing's gonna look good in there let's get
23:26it in the truck check it out yeah the dash is better than i expected the question is how are
23:31we
23:31gonna fit it in this truck hold it right there could scoot it over well man timmy then if we're
23:46building a console all the way to the dash that's gonna look man it ain't gonna look right
23:51i mean if you center this up man the radio and everything is gonna look offset it's gonna look
24:01out of whack we knew this wasn't gonna be an easy fit the impala dash is shorter than the c10
24:07body so
24:08it definitely doesn't look right this ain't gonna work of course it wouldn't be that easy
24:26man it ain't gonna work
24:28anytime you try to install a part out of a different vehicle like we're doing with this 66 c10 you
24:33know
24:33you're gonna have some issues you got your two buckets you got your nice console that goes all
24:39the way up to the dash see how it's not symmetrical there it's all pushed over it's gonna look just
24:46out
24:46of whack man we're gonna have to cut it we have to cut it and split it down the middle
24:52to make it
24:53symmetrical so let's split it right down the middle right around the radio bezel and straight down
24:58right there and then we'll move this whole side over and then we'll add a little section right in it
25:04it's gonna look good we'll make it look good that's how it is around here the big bills
25:08and the small bills they snowball
25:20we're good we do everything but we're a metal shop first and foremost
25:26that's why we have guys like tim around he's a finisher he gets the job done now we have a
25:31dash
25:32cut apart we need to fill these pieces back in with some sheet metal the way we'll do that we'll
25:36usually over cut it if you cut it a little bit bigger trace it back with a pen you can
25:41use your
25:41snips or a real precise cut and when you go to fill it in the metal butts up really well
25:48and it's
25:48easier to weld back together this way the body guys won't have to use as much filler to make the
25:54body
25:54completely smooth because the owner jose wants an impala truck tim the guys are going to install
26:12impala door handles we took the whole impala handle and this sheet metal already has an indention and
26:19indention where it fits real good we're going to cut out this impala door handle out of an existing
26:23impala door and fernando's going to fit it into the chevy truck
26:31what he's going to do now is he'll take this piece over there and he'll share it in a straight
26:35line
26:36basically got a round surface to something kind of flat so you got to manipulate it to the door to
26:40make it fit the door real smooth and these old cars are good about having a real thick quality door
26:45any aftermarket door skin you try to buy is real thin real flimsy these work real well to retrofit
26:51them into other doors
27:03so now what we'll do is get this cleaned off real well and then they'll come back and start
27:08land some body wear and this primer and we'll be on to paint
27:21heath and jona are finished making the interior pieces for julio's f-350 now it's time to install
27:26them we pretty much made everything in here so now this truck is finally custom inside and out
27:56the truck club called ground zero you know what better place for him and his boys all hanging out
28:01to show him his new interior julio i know we've been friends for a long time been a great customer
28:06but i
28:07know you've been going to the shows julio pull up in the dually looking good but with your dark ass
28:13windows so it's been terrible having to go to shows in the dually and not being able to show the
28:21inside
28:21i mean for a while it's kind of embarrassed even my guys are always giving me a hard time so
28:25i'm anxious
28:25to see what bill and the guys have come up with i'm ready to see it where's it at let's
28:28give my boy heat
28:29to bring it around
28:34you can't even see inside of it that used to be a good thing
28:40what's it gonna be what we got here let's check it out
28:54what you guys think huh yeah look at that
29:01so wow it was crazy whenever he pulled up and opened that door just seeing my interior
29:05it's phenomenal man my guys he jonah they just kick ass on every project no matter what it is
29:12the hard part about this truck was making the inside look as good as the outside it's got a good
29:16elegant but tough feel to it man i hope you dig it brother i love it man yeah obviously man
29:21you
29:21see the seats the inlays and the seats man you know the wrap around through the back it just it
29:26just
29:26hugs you when you sit in it man it just is super comfortable i mean even to the door panels
29:31you
29:31see just completely sculpted all handmade by this man right here they're just stylish and really
29:38loud i mean there's a lot of power in this thing there's 3 000 watts damn in this truck damn
29:4410-inch
29:45sub that just you feel it yeah i'm really happy the way it came out i love it thank you
29:50guys enough
29:51man hell yeah now the truck's really complete almost what do you mean i'm gonna pull this tent off
30:01you know julio's not gonna have any problems having to you know be embarrassed of having the
30:05doors shut at the show anymore did a badass job bro thank you man look forward to doing plenty of
30:10business together man hell yeah
30:24framework is something extensive is known for case in point the frame on jose 66 c10 but that's no good
30:31hidden so i'd ask rudy to make a trap door in the bed with the flip of a switch that
30:36electric actuator
30:37lift up and show off that frame so we got these hinges here once we get these bolted up we'll
30:45be
30:45able to start framing up our door so once the truck lays out the door will open and you'll be
30:51able to see
30:51the whole custom frame we've done
30:55uh i'm gonna have to modify it the smart doesn't want to sit in the place where it needs to
31:00be i'm
31:01gonna have to modify the
31:09whenever you're fabricating a custom part like jose's trap door on the 66 c10 there's always a lot of
31:16cutting and welding to get it just right rudy's got to modify those hinges so to lift that bed smoothly
31:22looks like that'll work we can actually see how they're gonna actually work so once the truck hits
31:40the floor it opens the door dope
31:49hinges are all welded up to the frame now we're going to go ahead and just add three more pieces
31:53of the cross members just to reinforce it give it a little bit more strength because it's going to
31:57carry all the wood on top of it once we put that in we'll test the frame and see how
32:01these hinges work
32:06all right
32:10there we go once this truck hits the floor door will go up you'll be able to see all the
32:16hard work jamie
32:17and bill did make it look all nice and fancy
32:21got it yes sir
32:26tighten this up right now we're just mocking up the last little bit of the suspension just the upper
32:32control arm mounts once we have those in place the next step building the bag mount shock mounts
32:37then the suspension is totally done looks good right there crank it up all right
32:48as you can see we got all the geometry right the thing at rod height is absolutely perfect when we
32:55deflate it let all the air out the truck sets completely flat on the ground even with the huge
32:59wheels so that's exactly what we want we don't want the wheels look like the trucks broke we want
33:04everything to look like it's right on the money so that's what it is man jamie that fits good
33:15before we paint every vehicle goes through rigorous body work preparation
33:19the whole paint gets stripped off and every scratch dent hole gets filled
33:24when everything's flawless and perfectly smooth we move it over to paint
33:29for jose c10 we're going to go with the metallic root beer color which add even more style to this
33:35iconic truck and charlie's going to make this paint really stand out so for the 66 c10 there's a lot
33:41of
33:41curves and stuff in there so with the brown that we've chosen and the metallics and the pearls that are
33:45all in it it just gives the whole thing a different effect every angle that you look at it every
33:50way you
33:51look at it or every light that you put it in it'll actually give it different tones
33:57so when you're spraying paint a lot of these guys that's their number one deal where they fail you
34:02know you can't just point a gun and think that it's going to cover everything you know every angle
34:06that the panel has your fan needs to be facing that panel so that way you get maximum coverage on
34:12everything so you don't have dry spots in it clouds in it or anything like that you know jose's
34:16going to take this truck to a lot of different big shows everybody's going to have this truck
34:19under the finest microscope so everything on this truck has to be perfect
34:36jose specifically didn't want chrome trim on this truck but he wanted to airbrush it instead
34:41to do this we bring in one of the best airbrush guys around to get that perfect chrome look i
34:47know
34:47we talked about a 60 impala trim but i want to switch it up a little bit i think that's
34:53a little
34:53too overpowering for this gotcha truck you know i think like a 62 impala trim is going to look the
35:01best
35:01you know fit the body lines of this thing the best you're right no swoops or nothing it just
35:07streamline yeah i think it'll look good too hell yeah the yellow tape is really i'm using it as a
35:13guide
35:14i wanted to come off this body line or this seam so to speak i wanted to come off that
35:20a certain
35:20amount of distance and this blue fine line tape is what is going to be the definition where the
35:26simulated chrome is going to start once i get it laid out then i'll start spraying in the colors as
35:31i go
35:33all right what i'm doing now is just mixed up some white this will be my base for the chrome
35:38once this
35:38is on i can come back with my airbrush and start putting different shades of black and blue and
35:43everything to give it that reflective look what i'm doing now is our horizon line so these are going
35:51to be three-dimensional looking so they look rounded and everything that's on the bottom side of the
35:56horizon line is going to be dark and everything on the top side is going to be light and that'll
36:00give
36:00the impression that it's beveled chrome i've been a junkyard kid basically i grew up around hot rods
36:15cars motorcycles six seven years old i think uh i was helping my dad in the garage and it's pretty
36:21much what i was born to do so here at extensive i'm a welder fabricator basically anything bill needs to
36:27have handled he'll put me on the job and i'll complete the task i've been here for about four
36:32years now it's been quite a learning experience since i've been here every time i work with bill
36:38i learned something new i couldn't ask to work with anybody smarter or better than those about
36:42fabrication welding or air suspension period when i had a chance to come work here i jumped right on it
36:50i told him basically i could build a space shuttle and uh made him laugh pack my stuff in garbage
36:56bags
36:57within an hour and was on the road heading heading to houston to come work this job
37:17should be good right there things are coming together on jose's c10 to make the truck pop under
37:22the hood i've had the frame powder coated and parts of the engine polished now we're marrying them
37:27together that's it matt all right cool bring it down the rest of the way all right good it's there
37:35while the guys bolt the cab to the frame we're gonna install the hardwood into the bed for this
37:40i've chosen zebra wood which is a rare type of wood from west africa it looks like zebra stripes while
37:46the
37:47bed is being finished the rest of the team is getting the front of the truck buttoned up all right
37:51all right hold it right there so it's an all hands on deck situation we're getting the truck ready for
37:56delivery and it's out the door go forward should be it right there huh
38:04better kind of go low with it dang it's slippery
38:10now to get the bed attached
38:14oh no we'll go ahead and bolt down the bed and we could test out the trap door
38:21and as a final touch rudy's installing the actuators to lift the bed this is our actuator
38:27that's gonna pretty much open and close our trap door we're gonna go ahead and place it here both
38:32one to the frame then one to our trap door and this rod will pretty much push out which is
38:37gonna lift up
38:37our trap door so we can take a look at all the good work we did on this frame who
38:43said we couldn't pop
38:44trunk with the trunk
39:07jose gets together once a month with all his boys all of jose's buddies are classic impala collectors
39:13they're a wealth of knowledge here today and you know what better place to show off his impala truck
39:18right here jose short time ago you had parts of a truck you didn't have a whole truck but
39:25you had a nice little project nice project absolutely remember you know no motor no interior missing
39:31pieces a lot missing a lot of pieces a lot you wanted to bring little impala touches into the build

40:27i had to bring james today you know he's a huge part of this build he's a great fabricator and
40:32you know we handmade every part and piece of the suspension frame everything looks good man you have
40:38a one-of-a-kind 66 chevy wow yeah i can't wait i can't wait to get it to some
40:43of the some of the
40:44local shows and maybe even some of the out-of-town shows and i'm not worried about the trophy side

40:48it because it's it's going to win i mean there's not there's not another one out there like that right
40:52now i mean first thing you see is the smooth bumper grill all color match right of course you can't
40:57miss the 24 by 10s in the front 24 by 15s in the rear thing just looks like a steamroller
41:03going down
41:03the road and of course the impala trim on the side that had to be there something impala had to
41:08be
41:09in there absolutely that airbrush look badass i know y'all see that that stripe on the side anybody
41:14guess what year 62 man you talking to impala guys really you're talking to impala boys with the
41:21airbrushing on the side that was just an added detail that i wasn't expecting but it it sure did
41:26make the you know it made the truck if you ask me even the door handle man you probably didn't
41:30even
41:30notice it's gonna call it door handle i noticed you're gonna get that one by me wood bed it's a
41:36zebra wood in the back man it's really unique one of a kind it is all handmade zebra wood yeah
41:42i
41:43didn't even know that existed but that's good man you guys really outdid yourselves that's unbelievable
41:49got you a little something special in the back too underneath that zebra wood all right go hit the
41:57switch got a little compartment back here where you can just show off that custom framework and
42:01all the powder coating nine inch rear end wow look at that unbelievable wow that is unbelievable jamie and
42:15i put a lot of hard work into this frame now jose can open this bed up and show the
42:19world just what we
42:20created let's check out the interior wow that's what you wanted that's what i wanted but you
42:38wanted to take my dash out of my car that impala dash turned out turned out pretty sick i mean
