00:00Previously on Project Runway.
00:02You will be creating a street world look that speaks
00:05to your brand as a designer.
00:07I just don't think, like, a cool girl would dress that way.
00:11I definitely respect Christian's opinions,
00:13but I think my look looks amazing.
00:16I've been on the bottom the last two challenges,
00:19and DJ keeps implying that I cannot do this without my brother.
00:22I have to prove to the judges that I am here to stay,
00:24that I am here for a reason.
00:26Girl, after last week, we both need to redeem ourselves.
00:29Seriously.
00:30You get a little in your feelings when the criticism comes.
00:33No, I'm taking it in.
00:34It does not feel good to get clocked once again by the law roach.
00:40Congratulations, Belania. You are the winner.
00:43Ooh.
00:45Yuchen, Joan, unfortunately, you were our least favorite looks.
00:49Joan, I just think that you made something that looks so old,
00:53she could go praise the Lord in this outfit.
00:55Yuchen, I am so mad at you over this look
00:58because you are a streetwear designer.
01:00I almost want to, like, jump out the chair and beat you up
01:03for making this look.
01:07A stake for the winner is $200,000,
01:10a spread in Elle magazine,
01:12and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:15This is Project One Way.
01:17I don't mean...
01:22Joan, Yuchen, we made our decision.
01:26Joan, we asked you to take us to the streets, but you took us to the sanctuary.
01:32I'm feeling bad.
01:34My look spoke to who I am as a designer,
01:37but maybe I should have listened to Christian and Jesus.
01:41Yuchen, this was your challenge to shine, but you gave us nothing new.
01:47I'm sorry.
01:48I feel so disappointed because streetwear is supposed to be my challenge.
01:53I feel like I disappoint everyone, especially Law.
01:56I'm sorry.
02:00Joan.
02:01I'm sorry you're out.
02:08Yuchen, that means you're in.
02:12You can leave the runway.
02:13Sure.
02:14Oh, no worries, sweetie.
02:16You're hurting me?
02:17Oh, no, it's okay.
02:18It's okay.
02:19I'm sorry.
02:20You're so sweet.
02:23You're so sweet.
02:25Aw, the babies.
02:30I just wanted to say we all think that you're a great designer.
02:34And, you know, this was not your week.
02:36This was not your challenge.
02:37You will go back to your business.
02:39Yes.
02:40You dress amazing women.
02:41And I thank you guys for this opportunity.
02:43I am one of the older designers, you know.
02:46I'm 60.
02:47I'm fabulous.
02:48Yeah.
02:49You are.
02:50You can definitely walk out of here with your head up high.
02:53Yes.
02:54Get to hear a bit of zen.
02:57A bit of zen.
02:59Mwah.
03:00Thank you, Heidi.
03:01All the best to you, Joan.
03:02It's been a pleasure.
03:03Bye.
03:04Bye, John.
03:05Bye.
03:06You better work for 60, mama.
03:07Okay.
03:08Cool.
03:09She's coming from my job.
03:16I just feel so bad that Miss Joan is going home.
03:19I take it personally.
03:20I feel like John has to go home because of me.
03:22It's okay, baby.
03:23It's okay.
03:24Oh, Miss Joan.
03:25I'm going home.
03:26Stop it.
03:27No.
03:28What are you apologizing about?
03:29You are just starting your career.
03:30Oh, my Lord.
03:31Yuchen, come on now.
03:32You have another opportunity to show them who you are.
03:36It's been a pleasure meeting all of you guys and working with you and you're so talented.
03:49I don't want to cry.
03:51Not my auntie.
03:52I love her.
03:53Miss Joan, you are the joy of the season.
03:58Saying bye to Miss Joan is one of the hardest things to do.
04:04She is one of those people that I connected in a deeper level.
04:09She's a very hardworking person.
04:10She's kind.
04:11And I'm going to miss her.
04:13It makes my heart full to even be in the room with you guys.
04:17Miss Joan, she's got that just love in her soul.
04:23And she's offered me a lot of love and a lot of safe space.
04:27And I'm going to miss my little safe space.
04:30Christian.
04:31Oh, Joan.
04:32They said I took them to church, Christian.
04:35Not to the street.
04:36See, that's because you weren't there at Moves with me to stop me from buying that family.
04:42Call me anytime, okay?
04:44I sure will.
04:47Project Runway saved my life, y'all.
04:49Yo, yo, yo.
04:50I came in this competition to prove to myself that I deserve to be here, that I'm strong,
04:57and I'm proud of myself.
04:59Miss Joan, child.
05:01Mm, mm, mm.
05:02I left it all on the runway.
05:18There's six of us now, so the competition is getting steep.
05:23I must make it to the final five.
05:26Oh, my God.
05:27Wow.
05:28Oh, my gosh.
05:29I could use a nice impression.
05:30Oh, my God.
05:31How do you feel?
05:32I feel okay.
05:33I feel like I didn't really get a win.
05:34Congratulations.
05:35And I'm like, uh, I don't really feel like it.
05:38Last challenge, Law said that Bellana had an issue with her body language when she's
05:42being criticized.
05:43When you are being critiqued, your body language gets a little nasty.
05:47I was not doing it.
05:48Now you were.
05:49Wait.
05:50I agree with you, but I have to tell the foundation first.
05:54This is my creative process.
05:57This is my creative process.
06:00She's like...
06:02I don't know if that's what I was like.
06:07Is that how I look?
06:08Bellana, I love you, girl, but we gotta work on the attitude, girl.
06:12Hey, don't, like, people tell me what to do.
06:15Are you guys ready for the next challenge?
06:18I think I'm the only one that hasn't won.
06:20I was so close last week to take that win home, which means now I can just taste the win for
06:30this next week.
06:31So leaving this challenge, you're gonna win it.
06:38Let's see if he can do it without his brother's help.
06:41Let's go.
06:42Let's go.
06:43Let's go.
06:44Christian.
06:45Oh, Heidi.
06:47How are you feeling?
06:50Like I'm ready for some horsing around.
06:56Well, giddy up.
06:57Let's bring in those designers.
06:59Woo!
07:00Wow.
07:01Oh, my God.
07:02Bringing me back.
07:03Oh, my God.
07:04Oh, he needs to step stool.
07:07That's a big horse.
07:09Chiquito.
07:10This is gonna take a hot minute.
07:12Oh.
07:13I missed it.
07:14Ye to the ha.
07:15Ye to the ha.
07:16You really get your groin out there.
07:18Yeah.
07:19That worked.
07:20Well, as you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
07:27What started out as 12 designers is now down to the dirty half dozen.
07:32Mm-hmm.
07:33Mm-hmm.
07:34For this next challenge, it's all about Western flair.
07:38Not only is pop culture obsessed with all things country, from Yellowstone to the Queen Bee herself, Cowboy Carter, but runways across the world are saddling up to fresh takes on classic country Western styles, fabrication, and design.
07:53So for this next challenge, you will be tapping into the zeitgeist and creating a look that is your take on Western chic.
08:02Western is one of the challenges that Antonio and I are so excited to have in the competition.
08:07I mean, I basically live with a cowboy.
08:09I love my cowboy hats.
08:11I love my cowboy boots.
08:12His closet, it's literally all Western.
08:15Shaps, like, leather jackets.
08:17This could be my win.
08:18You have sunrise to sunset to complete your look.
08:22Half of us are gone, and now another one-day challenge is gonna decide.
08:28The final five.
08:29The anxiety levels are ramping up, like...
08:34All right, good luck, designers.
08:35Christian, should we mosey?
08:38Thanks, divas.
08:39Mwah!
08:46Oh, God.
08:47This place.
08:48I'd love, like, a burgundy leather.
08:51I know that a lot of designers are going to the leather section because, yes, it's a Western chic fashion challenge.
08:58And to me, why would I go there if all of you are already going there?
09:04Next!
09:05What you're doing?
09:06How is this Western?
09:08You'll see.
09:09Oh.
09:10Silent killer.
09:11Like, I just don't understand how vinyl can be Western.
09:14Sway, sway, sway, sway.
09:16This week, the pressure is on.
09:18I have to win a challenge.
09:21What am I gonna do?
09:22So far in the competition, I've used a lot of color.
09:24I've used a lot of print.
09:25And I'm like, you know what?
09:26I'm gonna shock everyone and I'm gonna do white.
09:29I can do a mini skirt with French.
09:31I can do my jacket crop with French.
09:33Cuanto vale esta?
09:34It was, like, calling me.
09:35I was like, ah!
09:38Okay, this is cool.
09:39I don't know too much about Western culture.
09:42Do you know what a lasso is?
09:44Lasso? No.
09:45This looks like Christmas.
09:47Do not get this.
09:48This challenge is very personal for me because Antonio and I are from northern Mexico.
09:55When I was three, I remember coming into America in our cowboy boots.
10:00So for this look, I really want to lean into a Western indigenous vibe.
10:05It's in my roots and it's in my DNA.
10:08And that's why I need to find the perfect fabric because I have to deliver.
10:18All right!
10:19I love my fabric.
10:23Your fabric loves you.
10:26Guys, I'm putting the interfacing by the muslin, okay?
10:29Getting into the workroom, I automatically just go straight to cutting my fabric because I really want to figure out what I'm gonna make for under this coat now.
10:38I got this beautiful leather, but I don't have much of it.
10:42So I have to be really careful in how I use this leather.
10:45And at this point, I have to make something so innovative and amazing to be able to win this challenge.
10:54Oh .
10:58Clearly you can interface on leather.
11:00What?
11:01Oh .
11:03I just up my fabric.
11:05It burned it.
11:06Stop!
11:07Stop.
11:08Oh no.
11:09Like, I don't know what to do.
11:10I'm freaking out.
11:11I have no backup.
11:12Holy shit.
11:17It burned it.
11:18Holy shit.
11:19I haven't really like messed up throughout this whole competition.
11:22And then this happens to me.
11:24I cannot believe I just did this.
11:28He interface almost all his fabrics for some reason, but leather already has a body.
11:34So why would you interface the leather?
11:37Wait.
11:38That looks cool though.
11:39Jesus has a top.
11:41It could even be a dress, bitch.
11:44The burning on Jesus' leather is giving kind of an armpit kind of energy.
11:50Okay.
11:51I'm going to be honest with you.
11:52It looks like pit stains.
11:57Because of the coloring.
11:58Are you going to treat it of some sort?
12:01Hmm.
12:02Looks like boob sweat.
12:04Oh .
12:05I trust Ethan's judgment, so am I screwed?
12:09At this point, there's nothing I can do.
12:12I just have to make it work.
12:14This is where we come from.
12:17Hello.
12:19Hi, everybody.
12:20Ooh, should we go here?
12:22I'm doing these front panels.
12:24I am making a eating wear leather gown.
12:27She literally is going to look like a python.
12:29We love like a little snake in the grass.
12:32I grew up on a farm and-
12:34Did you really?
12:35You know we had snakes and-
12:36You grew up on a farm?
12:37I grew up on country western films and I literally grew up on a farm.
12:41And these films surround themselves with powerful female energy.
12:46And I'm trying to pull that energy into my clothes.
12:49Yeehaw.
12:50I'm making a two piece denim western inspired set with a cotton button down.
12:57Similar to what you just said.
12:59It's not.
13:00I promise it's not.
13:01It's going to look totally different.
13:02All right.
13:03Are you feeling good?
13:04You won the last challenge.
13:05I feel like a disciplined child though.
13:07What did Law say?
13:08My body language is disrespectful when I'm getting a critique.
13:11So I have to be sharp.
13:13After getting called out about my attitude last week, it's very, very important to me
13:18to show the judges that I'm listening.
13:20I need to leave it in the workroom and not bring it on stage.
13:27We're fringing?
13:28Yeah.
13:29You're going to fringe this whole thing?
13:31For this challenge, I want it to be a little unexpected but still western chic.
13:36Yes.
13:37I am making a futuristic vinyl fringe dress.
13:40How are you going to do this?
13:43Hmm.
13:44That's a good grouse shirt.
13:45I'm going to do a leather jacket crop.
13:48It's going to have a mini skirt that I'm going to fringe.
13:51Don't you think that it's like kind of a little bit done?
13:56He's right.
13:57It's just white leather jacket, a white leather skirt.
14:00So that's why I want the details to really stand out.
14:03I'm the only one that hasn't had a win.
14:05I've been on the top but this close to winning and I know that the techniques that I have
14:11in my brain can really take this look to the next level and win this challenge.
14:16What did you do?
14:17So it was a mistake.
14:19I tried to interface my leather and it burned.
14:22I think maybe the burning technique is kind of interesting.
14:27Maybe you do more to the skirt.
14:30Thank God.
14:33So I'm making this dress.
14:34Yeah.
14:35I wanted to make it all sequenced.
14:36Mm-hmm.
14:37And I'm going to have like, you know, a little bit dripping on here.
14:39I can buy this at the mall right now.
14:42I just wanted to take this shining part of Western, like, you know, culture.
14:46I get it.
14:47Like a performance ass.
14:48Yeah.
14:49Like Dolly Parton.
14:50Do you know who that is?
14:51No.
14:52Oh God.
14:54Are you all right?
14:55Need some water?
14:56I guess she's a very big country star.
15:00Yeah, she is.
15:03Here's my thing.
15:04You don't have to make a dress.
15:06You make jackets all the time.
15:07Why don't you make a cool jacket with fringe all over it?
15:10And you love the mini sexy skirt.
15:12And like, why can't it be more you?
15:16I have to stick on dress.
15:18Fine. Goodbye.
15:19Good luck.
15:20Last challenge.
15:21The judges didn't like my pants and hoodie.
15:24So I'm doing something different than making a dress.
15:27I've made my decision.
15:28I just hope I have enough time.
15:30But I won't make something on the dress though.
15:32I'm just telling you.
15:34I'm warning you.
15:35Okay.
15:37You have to win this one.
15:39Everybody has one except me.
15:41Yeah.
15:42I've been close.
15:43I know you've been really close.
15:44How many times?
15:45I've been close two times.
15:46I was in the top twice.
15:47It's been very exciting to see my brother win any challenges.
15:50But I came into this competition thinking I was going to do better than him.
15:53Wow.
15:54I'm sorry to think Jesus is my biggest competition.
16:01Designer.
16:02There's a new sheriff in town.
16:04And there's only going to be room for one twin in this competition.
16:09Who would it be?
16:10Are you sure, bitch?
16:11Who would it be?
16:12What is happening on here?
16:14Oh my God.
16:15One of them has to go at some point.
16:17So is it today?
16:18What?
16:19Oh my Lord.
16:20I think that dealing with one twin is very challenging.
16:24And dealing with two twins is even more challenging.
16:27They should both go home.
16:31Vijay can act bored all she wants.
16:33But she's going to wake up real quick when she's in the bottom.
16:37What is that wig for?
16:38It's a tumbleweave.
16:39Girl, that's a wig.
16:40That's why somebody waved.
16:41Get out of here.
16:42It's a tumbleweave.
16:43It's a tumbleweave.
16:44It's a tumbleweave.
16:45It's a tumbleweave.
16:46It's a tumbleweave.
16:47It's a tumbleweave.
16:48It's a tumbleweave.
16:49It's a tumbleweave.
16:50Oh my Lord.
16:52It's not working.
16:54I feel really bad for Yushin because I think that he does not have a clue what Western is.
17:02I mean, he didn't know who Dolly Parton is, so if you don't know who Dolly Parton is, you do not know what Western is.
17:07I'm interested to see how he pumps that up.
17:09I don't understand why he's doing a gown and not something that's in his element.
17:14Let's say he's pushing himself.
17:16I have hit a wall.
17:18I feel stuck and I'm moving so slow.
17:21I am so thankful for my second chance, but I need to prove I belong here.
17:27Hello.
17:28Hey, Christian.
17:29Hello.
17:30Anybody want to ride on my pony?
17:31Yes.
17:32Yes.
17:33Do I put it in the front or in the back?
17:35God.
17:36Okay.
17:37Give me my pony back.
17:38All right.
17:39Not for the pony.
17:40Okay.
17:41Let's bring in your model.
17:42Pony.
17:43Woo!
17:44I don't know about the skirt.
17:47The top looks really cool.
17:49The skirt doesn't look cool yet.
17:50Can you, like, scrub?
17:51I am.
17:52I just ruined the fitting.
17:53Okay.
17:54You burn it.
17:55I burn it.
17:56I love it.
17:57I mean, I think the whole look turned out so good.
18:00I cannot believe that this mistake might turn out to be the greatest mistake I've ever done in this competition.
18:07It's looking almost like a piece of art.
18:09What about we have a lot of, like, fringe from the hat?
18:12To the floor like that?
18:13Yeah.
18:14I think you should make your dress more interesting first.
18:17More interesting.
18:18Or you can add a jacket because it's boring.
18:21But I don't know how to make progress.
18:23Well, that's the challenge here, my friend.
18:28Mommy Christian is yelling at me.
18:30He wants me to make a jacket, but I don't really have time.
18:33Since we already have the base dress, it's time for me to think about how am I going to make this more Western?
18:39One question.
18:40Do you think this hat wore this hat?
18:43I don't care about your stupid hat.
18:46I care about your dress.
18:48Hmm.
18:49What is your story?
18:50I don't have a story.
18:52No, but you have to give them something.
18:55If I had to go to a Western event, I would make this for myself and put it on.
18:59That's all I'm going to say.
19:01Yeah, Christian, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
19:04Does it get a shoulder pad?
19:06I think we can give you a shoulder pad.
19:09Doing this challenge, I know that I want to create something unexpected and out of the box.
19:14And what I'm doing, I think it's different, but it's a cool dress.
19:19BJ, you don't need any other accessories.
19:21Absolutely.
19:22You don't need any.
19:23No.
19:24Get that bag out of here.
19:25You have a plastic fringe dress.
19:27BJ is very proud of her look.
19:29But girl, I feel like she's going to be in the bottom.
19:31I feel like she thinks she thought outside the box, but I don't think she did.
19:35I think she made her model look like a box.
19:38Keep it simple.
19:41All right, designers.
19:42That's it.
19:43That's time with your models.
19:44Thank you so much, ladies.
19:47Love you.
19:48Less than three hours to go.
19:50And then we're going home.
19:55How to make it interesting?
19:56How to make it interesting?
19:58Maybe give her an old time, like, saloon girls bustle.
20:01Nah.
20:02Or like a really cool neck scarf.
20:04Scarf?
20:05Girl, I'm throwing you ideas.
20:07You either pick them up and run with them or you figure it out on your own.
20:11Okay.
20:12I think that Eugene is scared of this challenge.
20:15It is both out of his culture and he's been really shook up these last two challenges.
20:20I'm so tired.
20:21Literally, I've been cutting the fringe for like eight hours.
20:22I know.
20:23You have a two-day challenge.
20:24Yeah.
20:25For real.
20:26I am pushing myself to the point of exhaustion.
20:27I know it's risky, but I hope that the judges will see the work that I put in.
20:29And maybe if they don't love it, they'll give me some grace to keep me from going home.
20:43Ethan's dress is similar to the dress that I made from the Boring Fabric Challenge.
21:00The judges don't like it when you show something that the other designers have already done.
21:05Jesus, I saw Ethan's dress and it kind of reminded me of the gray dress that I made for Luz, right?
21:12Maybe it's unintentional, you know, but I mean, what do you think?
21:15Well, well, well, the bitch is staring the pot.
21:22I mean, I think it's very him.
21:24Yeah.
21:25It's definitely going to stand out.
21:26What do you think about yourself?
21:28Um, it's okay.
21:33I think it's important to be original.
21:35And if your work is referencing the work of your other competitors,
21:40then it means that you need to change that and you need to come up with something else.
21:44I don't want to cause drama, but I need to talk to Ethan.
21:48Okay.
21:50Are you going to be doing a lot of the crisscross detail?
21:53Mm-hmm.
21:54Because when I saw your dress, it kind of reminded me of the gray dress.
21:58Which one?
21:59The wool.
22:00His?
22:01No, my dress.
22:02Yours.
22:03What the ?
22:04It's not similar, but it's kind of like the same idea where it's kind of like, it has kind of like a cut out here.
22:10I think that Vijay is spewing bullshit.
22:14I don't agree that a full crocodile gown has anything to do with her wool mini dress.
22:22So when I saw it, I was like, I think I need to tell Ethan because the judges might call you out for that.
22:27Especially Nina.
22:28I was like, don't copy each other.
22:32No way in hell would I want to plagiarize your boring work.
22:35So buzz off.
22:36We're happy.
22:37We're happy.
22:38Good morning, cowboys.
22:39Yee-haw.
22:40Today's the runway show and the pressure is on.
22:45We're so close to the top five and there's no room for mistakes.
22:50We'll see what happens on the runway.
22:56Jesus, who do you think is in trouble today?
22:59You.
23:00Me?
23:01Oh my God, why me?
23:02I don't know.
23:03I don't know what the judges are going to think.
23:04I know.
23:05It's very risky.
23:06It's risky for sure.
23:07I'm worried about Vijay.
23:08Well, I'm not really worried because I want her to be out of this competition.
23:11Model!
23:12The diva!
23:13Hey!
23:14What's up, girlfriend?
23:17Hello.
23:18Hello.
23:19Hi, Chris.
23:21Oh my God, you look so sexy.
23:25Let's see what's going on around here.
23:27Do you think the front fits perfect?
23:29I had to take this whole panel, remove it from the inside and put it over top to alleviate
23:36the boob space.
23:37My I usually work with, they're all fake.
23:40They don't move.
23:41And then when I lift that up, that'll relieve the boob tension.
23:44So like real this whole competition has been like a journey.
23:51It looks cool.
23:53I mean, listen, I don't know what they're going to think because it's a wild card.
23:57Yeah.
23:58I just want you to be prepared.
23:59Oh, damn.
24:00I wanted to sell this before you came.
24:01Ah!
24:02The twins may live and breathe Western, but I'm coming off of a win and I finally know
24:07who I am.
24:08I'm not backing down.
24:09I'm coming for them.
24:10I just got to watch my body language.
24:12Antonio, please take off the glasses.
24:14I get it.
24:19So are you going to do the whole booby horn situation?
24:23Yeah.
24:24I decided to make this boob horn because I got inspired by Tibet culture, which is kind
24:32of similar to Western culture.
24:34In Tibetan culture, they put all these decorations on the boob horn.
24:38That means good luck.
24:39And I know the boob horn is screaming in the Western world.
24:42I think they're going to like it.
24:44You're going to be very, very slay on the stage.
24:52It's something.
24:53Yeah.
24:54It's very horny.
25:00All right, models, you guys can go to the Ulta Beauty salon now.
25:03We are back.

25:06I want her to have pigtails, but I want it to be behind her ear.

25:36Howdy.
25:37Howdy.
25:38Howdy.
25:39Howdy.
25:40Howdy.
25:41Howdy.
25:42Howdy.
25:43Hi, all.
25:44Hi.
25:45Welcome to the runway.
25:46way as you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day you're out for this challenge you
25:51had one day to create your take on western chic let's meet our judges cfda award-winning stylist
25:58and image architect la roche and joining us a country music star and the first african-american
26:06female to be nominated for a grammy in the country music category mickey guyton and
26:15executive vice president and creative director for gap inc and chief creative officer of old navy
26:22zach posen oh my god zach posen i've seen that face on project runway so many times
26:29this is not cute he is very meticulous with craftsmanship one of the best designers that i
26:34know it's great to be back in the saddle here on project runway all right let's start the show
26:45down hands high i nailed my look it is western and it's so chic and this burn leather what really
26:55was stressing me out has turned into greatness this burn is a technique that i would definitely do
27:01again as i see my look go down the runway i'm excited i'm proud of it my eye goes directly to the
27:18denim and the tan leather and the sharp point cutouts look really cool i like it a lot this one just gives
27:27me chills like i'd wear that right now now hear me roach like a thunder
27:36i love this i love seeing it just snake down the runway it's like robert probably from 10 years ago
27:43i just wish it would fit better on the grass feels really good to see what i have accomplished the
27:48styling and the detail and it's fun and it's a moment and if there's anything i know how to do it's a
27:54moment it seems like taking me to a country award show honey
28:05i'm feeling so proud of myself showcasing a piece that i put all my soul and intentions into it
28:11what that is stunning i'm a fierce competitor don't underestimate me today is going to be tough
28:18oh my vision to create something unexpected and not the usual western chic fashion is very risky
28:37looking at all the creations on the runway mine is different but i'm keeping my fingers crossed that
28:43the judges will appreciate that i'm a designer who takes risks it's like casey caldwell for prana i don't
28:49really stay in there you don't want to miss out
28:56will be hard
29:00as lyris is going down the runway i feel so happy she's totally rocked out and she looks so fierce i'm
29:07very happy with the outcome
29:13all right now oh no she's gonna sell the garment she's definitely gonna sell a garment i can literally
29:19read mrs law's face just by him rolling his eyes i can see that some of these designers are in trouble
29:25and i just hope i'm not one of them
29:26all right
29:34congratulations that was quite the runway show thank you thank you we scored your designs
29:41antonio jesus elania you are our favorite designs this week
29:48that means ethan hugh chin and vj you had our least favorite designs today you can leave the runway
30:02thank you
30:10gag it's getting hotter
30:12i'm really sad that the judges did not love what i made and the wrist did not pay off but i think i
30:19made something bold and i did not make something basic and literal like the other designers here
30:26they definitely had the most like accessible pieces out of everybody yeah i'm just surprised
30:34to be in the bottom because i know my look is really good comparative to like some of these looks that
30:40are so like there's got to be another word for boring like i just don't think they're interesting
30:46like if i can just go and buy them off the rack i don't think that is interesting to me so
30:55we will see okay let's bring out your models yes barbies stunning thank you so much all right
31:05antonio let's start with you it is so special thank you wow and to do this in a day
31:10and for that price you kind of checked off the boxes for me there's conchos there's fringe
31:15you're working with bow leather and this band uh waistband the top the buckle was black so i wrapped
31:24it in leather such a good idea the braids risque it gives it the fashion edge you know stunning i'm
31:30latino so i needed to sex it up a little bit i think that this outfit is absolutely beautiful latinos
31:37and country music have a very beautiful love affair vaqueros yep the conchos everything there's a huge
31:43latino movement in country music and to see that and see that you representing that is absolutely
31:49beautiful thank you the styling is absolutely phenomenal the hair choice the makeup choice
31:56really really really well done well i think of you every time i style down thank you i mean you should
32:01i'm the best i know yeah okay balania we're going to talk to you next when this came out i knew
32:09exactly it was you which is great because it's really showing us that you have a strong point of
32:13view it's just absolutely stunning love the authenticity didn't feel like you were trying
32:18to interpret as anything else but what it is it was very genuine and honest and i just thought
32:23the lines and everything were so beautiful just love it so much you just did a great job thank you so
32:27much the leather or suede material can she just turn let's see it's great i mean just kind of
32:33complicated things happening here right that are kind of working together you're playing with different
32:38proportions layering volumes transparency graphic and it kind of all works i feel like you always find
32:46this way of putting things together that in theory don't really work in a way but it totally works
32:54and that makes it new again so i loved it thank you hey sus hello it is stunning thank you from every
33:01angle every detail that coat is just singing you know and that it's see-through and when she walked
33:07it was so beautiful and all this friendship put on there the coat is really really spectacular i love
33:12going to vintage stores and this looks like it could have easily been from the 70s that someone wore
33:17that to woodstock and just kept it in the most pristine condition what is the top is it a print is it
33:23molded so creating this kind of like beautiful texture was a mistake i like the mistake of it
33:30same same that kind of spontaneity in design process is when the most interesting discoveries
33:37get found like the mess that works i thought that that was not a mistake it's just so beautiful like
33:43out the gate when i saw it i loved it instantly it's just amazing like it was definitely one of my
33:48favorites i mean all of y'all are my favorites that's why you are here i have to say this was a tough
33:56one yes it was very taking the winner here because really you guys all did a fantastic job the winning
34:03look not only felt true to country roots it pushed the envelope of what western chic looks like
34:08like congratulations this could be my win my first win finally
34:19jesus you are the winner
34:25share this with you because oh you guys are so cute this works for us well thank you so much
34:32jesus wins at this point i am frustrated because i am the cowboy and jesus is not the cowboy and i
34:43wanted my first win finally oh jesus congratulations you can leave the runway thank you thank you thank
34:49you thank you thank you this was a tough win you know i really wanted antonio to take the win i won
34:54yeah and then i really thought he was gonna win oh i mean your win is his swing i know that's what
35:02here we go again jesus won another challenge and i'm pretty sure that it's gonna make him really really
35:09cocky wow i'm so relieved i made it to the top five and i'm just climbing to the top but bj girl i think
35:18your time might be over soon
35:25ethan vj and yujin you created our least favorite designs all right let's bring out your models
35:38ethan let's start with you tell us about your look i created my own evening wear avant-garde snake
35:44in the grass when it first came out it kind of felt like i'd seen this however seen in front of
35:49me right now it's impeccably made i thought the dress really is stunning i think it was the ties
35:56that threw me off personally i don't know if that's dark brown or black but had it been something more
36:02in the tone of the skins that would have elevated a little bit more and made it look even more expensive
36:08and there's something to me that's going on with the booth that's not quite flattering it's too
36:14narrow that's what pushed you out of the top three the styling is really good i love the cowboy hat i
36:19love the drama with the tail and it does feel country right yes it absolutely you miss the top three by
36:24just a few points it's a showstopper i'm not mad at it vj c the judges know that my work is not like
36:32your work okay yujin can you tell us about your look i want to bring this excitement on the wrong way you
36:38know little drama and when she's walking on the wrong way like a nipple tussle right so it's all
36:43about the excitement what i'm looking for in this country western fashion is the authenticity and i
36:49just don't think that that was executed in this i don't understand how you are a streetwear designer
36:58and you gave us an evening dress and a really bad evening dress i don't think it fit her that well
37:04if you're gonna play with the satire and if it's gonna be something that's about like horny disco
37:10nasty couture then it has to be like weirder and stranger and more perverse thank you zach yeah i feel
37:17like you just went for something so nutty that i'm like did you think this was a winning look
37:23the taste level here is beyond beyond beyond good or beyond bad beyond bad yeah okay we hate the dress
37:33we hate the dress we hate the dress okay vj let's hear about your look for this particular challenge
37:40it was really intentional to kind of like go on a different direction what is it going to be in the
37:47future to see what western fashion is so let's start with the good the good thing about you is that you
37:53know a woman's body the way you cut that curve to make her waist look small in the exact place it
38:00should and using that nude material was brilliant everything else is such a mismatch and so confusing
38:09yeah this was a miss for me this looked like a project runway nightmare it didn't make sense to
38:14me western chic i'm just not getting that here vinyl doesn't say modernity to me or futurism
38:20it's kind of post-modern you know it's like it's been there we've been there since the 60s we asked
38:25for country chic you gave us country and i'm not going to hold that back i think you were trying to
38:32like try something different and the things that like trust your gut it's always 100 correct thank you
38:38for all the feedback of course thank you both twins are in the top and i'm in the bottom this is embarrassing
38:46and now i might go home this cannot be my ending we have a lot to discuss and sadly one of you will be
38:53out you can all leave the runway thank you so much
39:00well it's really now between vj and yuchen because ethan is safe he was our number four
39:08today right he made tiny mistakes yeah that kept him out of the top three
39:13yuchen going for two horns on the breasts and like bedazzling her from head to toe or not even enough
39:20plastic there wasn't enough bedazzle for me to make it that weird it's like not the moment no last
39:26challenge i was on the bottom it took some confidence away from me i've been questioning myself if i got the
39:32chance to stay in the competition i have to be able to shake that off hopefully they give me that chance
39:38there was absolutely nothing redeeming about it the accessories the necklace terrible and then he just
39:45bedazzled it everywhere put the necklace on the hat i have that hat from etsy by the way i know you do
39:50i do i saw you everybody who went to beyonce's to have had the hat on they they they did he lost his
39:55confidence though we've all lost our confidence before right but this is like lost the plot
40:00oh vj i mean she brought something that didn't feel chic at all and the key to good western it has
40:07to be authentic anytime that it's anything else it seems like it's making fun of what western culture
40:14is it looked like a really bad costume party it really did yeah i hate it you would never wear that
40:19no right this is recycled fashion and should be recycled all right let's bring them back out see you
40:26later bye bye
40:32yuchen vj and ethan we've made our decision
40:39i don't think i'm nervous for myself however it's a tight game between vj and yuchen and yuchen he's been a
40:48really good friend in this competition so i want vj to go home
40:55ethan you're safe you can leave the runway thank you all so much
41:04yuchen vj one of you will be in and one of you will be out
41:07i know my confidence has been shaken but i just hope the judges decides to keep me in the competition
41:16i'm scared i did everything that i can to stand out in this competition i've waited for this
41:22opportunity for so long and i can't go home yet
41:25next time on project runway you will be making a look for women and men who struggle with eczema
41:36where do you want to get married mexico for sure are we on a date right now i just can't do friends
41:41everything jul is saying might send me home i think that sweater is giving me nightmares i'm
41:45trying to be quiet because you know people they try some ideas you really just didn't listen to him
41:50it's kate middleton in 2006 drunk in the back of a cab she just looked frumpy i did not like this
41:54out of all what's the biggest sin a sloppy toppy or a mitt smash mess
