03:30And as a fashion designer, the ultimate achievement is to be part of this collection.

12:42I'll go buy some napkins and paper towels and some hot glue.
12:47I mean, what do you do with 50 bucks?
12:49And this look for less will be derived from the look of another team.
12:54The key word here is derivation.

26:37The gown is everything I needed it to be.
26:40The dress is beautiful, and it speaks greatly to who I am
26:44and what I celebrate, and that's classic elegance and beauty.
26:51Amy and I were both really, really happy about what we had created.
26:56It looks really high fashion.
26:58It looks modern, and Holly looks amazing in it.
27:00I feel so confident about the signature look.
27:05I am absolutely thrilled with the way it turned out.
27:09I feel like this was the first challenge in which I could truly express my point of view.

27:18As I see my signature look walk down the runway, I am so satisfied.
27:22It's well made, and I think Brittany looks really great up there.
27:29The dress fits like a glove.
27:31We could have been more innovative, but I'm working with someone who has very limited experience,
27:35so I had to scale down just to make sure that we had a garment on the runway.
27:42This dress definitely expresses my voice as a designer because it's a little bit futuristic,
27:47but yet it has sort of an old classic Hollywood style to it.
27:51It's kind of one of those dresses where you either think it's really cool or you think it's really weird,
27:56so it was a leaky face for me.
28:02The signature look, it's beautiful.
28:06It's more beautiful than I ever thought.
28:11I think it's very elegant.
28:12So the look for less is a great look.
28:20It's a really good interpretation of peeing in Jessie's outfit.
28:24So I'm excited to see what the judges think.
28:29Our look for less was well done.
28:31You know, 50 bucks in a few hours, we did a pretty good job.
28:34But looking at the judges, I'm not sure if they're liking it, hating it, wanting to burn it.

28:42Our second look is definitely the scaled down version of the signature look that we were inspired by.
28:51We asked Monique to be bouncy and flirty.
28:53That's exactly what she gave us, fun and flirty.
28:58We're both, you know, extremely proud of the look for less.
29:01Even though it's not our particular look, it's still our work, and it's very cool.
29:07The look for less, I'm really confident in.
29:09It looks really sellable.
29:11It's youthful.
29:12It's really a reflection of me.

29:19The skirt fits, the top fits, and the vest is really cute.
29:23I feel like we've both represented our design aesthetic.

30:48I wanted to make something that looked like it could be in a museum,
30:51something that a collector would want to have.
30:54It's unique, dramatic.
30:55I think it's really striking.
30:57I particularly like this very bare side,
31:00where you cut it very thin.
31:02Feels very modern.
31:03Let's bring out the look that inspired your look for less.
31:06We've really just played with a lot of, like, the lines and the curves
31:09and just combining those, you know, two things together.
31:13The whole thing costs $46.

31:19Yeah.
31:20This is more interesting, has more work, more dimension in it than that.

31:29Mila, Jonathan, please tell us first about your signature look.
31:34Well, the concept here was to create an evening ensemble that was fun, yet still elegant.
31:40For me, you guys sold me absolutely on the signature look.
31:43I think that suit looks amazing. I would love to have that.
31:46And I can see you in it.
31:48Lorena, can we see it from the back?
31:50I think it's kind of a sportswear-inspired. It's very clean and graphic.
31:54The coat looks fabulous.
31:56I really love this look.
32:00Let's bring out the look that inspired your look for less.
32:03We were inspired by Seth, Aaron, and Anthony.
32:05We took their gown into a juniors kind of place.
32:09First off, any editor would be like a baby doll dress. Forget it.
32:13It could have been something very, very modern and simple, and it would have still been your interpretation of that.
32:20And it would have probably been a lot stronger.
32:22We did throw around the idea of a trapeze, and I think we probably should have gone with our instinct.
32:26The most important thing as a designer is your instinct. Listen to your gut.
32:31But kudos, I love the coat, and I'm happy to see some separates.
32:35My God, this is how people dress. There's logic.

32:51Ping, Jessie, would you please tell us first about your signature look?
32:54When we went to the museum and saw all those very famous clothes, I'm thinking I need to design something that's basically timeless.
33:03Can I just see what happens when she doesn't hold it? It's a tail, basically.
33:08I just feel like this is just a bunch of fabric wrapped around a model.
33:13She's got to stand like the Statue of Liberty to wear this dress.
33:17She looks like she had her little lace negligee on, and you were working on her draping some fabric,
33:23and suddenly a bell went off and she ran out with the draping fabric.
33:28Let's bring out the look that inspired you.
33:31I designed the top. Jessie designed the skirt.
33:35I don't think anyone designed anything.
33:36I think the only thing that it has in common with the original outfit is that it's got some grey in it.
33:44It's just an ill-fitting, blah dress.
33:47Who did most of the sewing?
33:49I sewed both of the dresses.
33:51Because I had to teach sewing lessons while we were working.
33:55You had to teach sewing lessons to Ping?

34:18So that was our foundation for this gown.

34:34What would you have done to have made it more modern and more forward-thinking?
34:39We can't design it for you.
34:41It's how you translate your inspiration into your aesthetic.

34:52We were spending too much time trying to figure out how we were going to do the top.
34:55Yeah, we need to simplify and move forward.

35:03It looks like kind of an acetate cocktail dress on the cheap dress floor.
35:09And you look at the inspiration, you know, you could have...

35:13So it could have had a little bit more see-throughness, show a little bit more skin maybe.

35:54It was one of the few outfits, I think, that you could take off that runway.

36:02They actually, for $46, turned out something that looked chic, had edge to it, and was wearable.
36:08It was all of the above.
36:10And they managed to do it very, very nicely.
36:15Also, designers that we did like was Mila and Jonathan.
36:17I thought the coat was really exciting, and it had a real signature to it.
36:23It was unique to my eye. It looked like it stood out from the crowd.
36:27And it was made beautifully.
36:29Well, I like the idea that she didn't make a dress.
36:32And it has Mila's signature on it.
36:34It's very her.
36:36Let's talk about Pink's dress.
36:39It was a confusing, labored cacophony of ideas.
36:43What I don't appreciate is that she did not pay any attention whatsoever to the look for less.

36:58I feel they were too literal in their inspiration.
