00:00Hello there and today we have a vibratory floor sander used initially to grind and do hardwood
00:19floors obviously and this would be used if say you put in a brand new floor hardwood and you
00:27wanted to grind it and smooth it out maybe you had a little bit of imperfection possibly it's where
00:33the joints are and everything you would go over your whole hardwood floor when before you put your
00:38finish on if you're putting in a virgin hardwood floor this is an initially what they were developed
00:43for and also this can be used when you put a coat of finish on a floor polyurethane or any kind of
00:52the finishes to go in between the coats to usually you would have dust settle on your finish you could
01:00actually use this pad here to use in between coats to smooth it all out and then you would vacuum it
01:07and damp very lightly damp rag or mop it before you put your next coat on think of this sander is say
01:15you were gonna do a picnic bench if you were gonna refinish a picnic bench you'd probably use a belt
01:23sander and then you would use a palm sander maybe to finish it you wouldn't go straight to a palm sander
01:29so use this in a finish application same as you would a palm sander only a larger application I say
01:36that because some people want to use this for doing their heart their wooden decks and outside your wood
01:43warps you've always got that dish in the middle and it is very time-consuming to try to use this
01:51machine to to do a deck on the outside and people usually get kind of frustrated because it takes
01:58so long you're only using usually up to about an 80 grit paper sometimes in finishing and maybe down
02:04to a 40 grit paper as the roughest and you don't want to catch the edges on your on your deck nor do you
02:11want to catch the screw heads or the nail heads now as I show you in the bottom of this one machine
02:17this particular unit has uses a smaller paper there are some that use a paper about twice as wide just
02:26as long but the weight to square inch of cutting on this size works a lot more aggressively than it does
02:35on a bigger piece because the weight of your machine is the same so what they've done is they've cut the
02:40paper size in half and then you put this on this pad this vibratory pad this pad goes like a velcro it
02:49sticks there this pad is coarse on one side as the sandpaper edge on the other side as a grit and it'll
02:56stick like this you'll tip the machine up onto the floor when you turn it on it gives that vibray vibratory
03:03action now the nice thing about this is it gives a very nice fine finish you're gonna put a bag on the
03:11back as I'll show you when you unhook the container and you'll just push on one of these bags onto the
03:24back here which will blow up and collect your sawdust now a real nice feature with this machine as well is
03:30for transporting because you can unhook the plug in the back you can undo this knob in the front the
03:41handle comes off and you can carry it in like this right over top of the machine because they are really
03:48fairly heavy probably about 110 pounds or so now some of the units you can even get a an extra weight
03:54to put on them some other makes of machines you probably see a spigot on the top where you put
03:59weights on top and this is because the machine is not as aggressive as everybody likes it and they
04:07sometimes start to put weight on the machine and and it kind of takes the purpose away for what it was
04:13really designed for and that was as a as a finishing unit so an excellent machine to use on hardwood floors
04:20or maybe after you've used our drum sander on a on a refinishing of a hardwood floor if you use that to
04:28get all the old finish off and get to get it to the point that you've finished with the the drum sander
04:34and you use this afterwards this will really may give you a nice smooth floor and kind of that shiny
04:40glisten when you see with the light comes off of the off a finished floor and get those imperfections sanded
04:46out so it's simple to use once you have your sandpaper on you're tipped up it's more or less
04:53just holding the trigger and walking around with it it doesn't whip around it doesn't go anywhere it
04:58just sits in the one position you'll push it back and forth and you can get right into corners and small
05:03areas and it's an excellent finish for having you put on your hardwood floor finish polyurethane or
05:12whichever you're going to use so give us machine some thought for those jobs that require some finishing
05:20or in between coats and hopefully this will help your projects with a happy finish don't forget to subscribe
