đź’ˇ Pro Tip
Always start in the center of the room and work your way toward the edges for even coverage. Use the appropriate pad type for your flooring—soft pads for polishing and aggressive pads for scrubbing. Let the machine glide; don’t force it.

Wear non-slip footwear, gloves, and eye protection. Keep electrical cords clear of the machine’s path to avoid tangling. Use only recommended cleaning solutions for your floor type to prevent damage. Ensure the area is clear of obstacles before starting.

00:00Well, hello folks and welcome back to another session on some of our rental equipment and here
00:16we have a floor maintainer 17 inch to be specific and this is used for buffing up or cleaning and
00:23scrubbing of say vinyl floors you can use them on tile linoleum and a good machine to use if if you
00:33have a small business and you're trying to refinish your floors yourself in your in your store or in
00:39your office or sometimes you have an office and your your employees trek in and out from the shop
00:46back and forth your floors get a little scruffy you might want to buff them up yourself and
00:52this is as you see has several different colors of pads that you can use on it there are others
00:59several colors actually and the color designates the grit of the of the material of the of the pad
01:06that these would be in this specific case the black would be like a scrubbing pad the or a stripping
01:14pad to get off say on the wax and dirt if it's not too bad you could use the green one they call a
01:20scrubber scrubber as well that's not as aggressive as the black and the white one is usually a buffing
01:27pad a lot smoother and doesn't have that grittiness that the the other two pads have but though these
01:34three are generally pretty consistent with what people would use this other pad on the back here
01:40is a solid one and this is your your drive pad this is what these pads hold on to now the idea is that
01:48i'll show you when you put this on the machine is your pads going to be on the floor this is going
01:54to be on top hopefully centered and because of the the grip area of the rubber pad the weight of the
02:00machine this is what how it drives and grabs on the floor and the good thing is sometimes is if
02:06you're doing a floor and it does grab something unexpectedly it will kind of rip away from it and it
02:12won't cause some damage so a good a good idea in the middle here even these little centers sometimes
02:21you can use them as little scrubbers for your for your corners so you know take them out and and utilize
02:27them if but if the need be now what you do here is take the machine you tip it up you take your drive pad
02:39and just line up the the drive lugs put them over top and you just give it a turn and that's all you
02:49have to do because it drives only one way and it pushes against the the spigot here so it'll stay on
02:56and it'll just drive in that manner take it off pretty simple turn it the other way now once you have
03:03it on and it's on your floor I won't put it on there for now but that'll be over top of it over
03:12top and just so you know here this spigot on top is for like dumbbell weights to add more weight to it
03:19to make it more aggressive so you had a black pad and you wanted to make it more aggressive but these
03:24machines of course are used for multi-purpose you can also buy sanding pads you can buy wire pads you
03:30buy brushes and so they can be used for different purposes you know they also are used we used to
03:38keep sanding paper to sand with on these on these machines which had to add a weight to give a little
03:44more aggressiveness as as the material is sometimes hard to get off they've even been used to sand rust
03:52off of steel plate and so there's very it's unlimited to what the actual machine can be used for
03:59but the big thing to know is loosen this off when you're going to use it get the cord over your
04:07shoulder out of the way if you haven't used one before and you've probably seen a lot of janitors
04:12maybe use them in schools they use these machines a lot for buffing their floors of course they have
04:17a lot of walk-behind machines now but in any case put the handle in your waist or waist high and the
04:26reason for this is that you'll bend your legs to operate the machine if you bend down it'll go one
04:31way you bend up it'll go the other way if you hold it out here like this with your hands and try to
04:35operate this machine you haven't operated one before it tends to want to go all over the place and I've
04:41seen the machines flip over they get a little violent only because we're tipping the machine too much
04:46and that's what makes the machine go back and forth and you can end up flipping it around so if you haven't
04:52done this before put the machine in your in your waist lock it in that position now when I move my
05:01waist up and because I move my use of my legs I'm not going to move as aggressively I can move up a bit
05:06and go one way I can go down and go the other way I can push forward and I can pull it back so that
05:12would be the best way to to operate the machine and once you start it you can start the machine by
05:18pulling obviously the triggers and just kind of move your your waist up and down to get it sitting
05:23in one position first before you start getting moving it around and that way and then at some
05:29point you've I'm sure maybe you've seen janitors in school there's basically almost not even holding
05:33on to it because you can pretty well almost operate it right by your waist by just holding it snug in
05:38there so follow those ideas when you're going to start using this machine for the first time at least
05:43until you know what you know what the action does and that way you can have a a good experience and
05:49you know you'll want to keep doing it yourself and and get a good job done okay so there's something
05:55else to consider for your projects and hope we'll see you again and don't forget to subscribe
