đź“„ Description
A 1000lb Plate Tamper (Diesel Reversible Compactor) is a heavy-duty machine built for compacting soil, gravel, and asphalt in construction and landscaping projects. Its reversible design allows forward and backward movement, making it ideal for tight spaces and large-scale compaction tasks. Perfect for driveways, foundations, roadwork, and landscaping, this machine delivers powerful, consistent compaction for a stable and long-lasting surface.
In this video, we’ll cover how to set up and operate a diesel reversible plate tamper, how to handle controls safely, and expert tips for achieving even compaction across different materials.
đź’ˇ Pro Tip
Use overlapping passes for uniform compaction. Allow the machine’s weight and vibration to do the work—avoid forcing or pulling it. Adjust engine speed and vibration settings depending on the soil or material type for optimal results.
⚠️ Safety Reminder
Wear hearing protection, steel-toed boots, gloves, and eye protection. Be mindful of machine weight and moving parts—never place hands or feet near the vibrating plate. Operate only on stable ground and avoid steep slopes to prevent tipping. Ensure proper ventilation when using diesel equipment in enclosed spaces.

00:00Well here we are again it's good to see you back and we're continue on here with the plate tampers
00:16and this is the largest that we have here this is a diesel plate about a thousand pounds and
00:22this is the one you'll want to use and a lot of the contractors you use when you're putting down
00:27major interlocking stone driveways or you have heavy traffic this will really pack down the the
00:34aggregate and with the right amount of moisture this is what you would use if you don't want to
00:39have a say a call back when you have washboard or you have sinking stone underneath concrete or
00:45asphalt this so this is the sure all that will make sure it's compacted properly you go over the
00:50area two or three times and this will make it dead hard you can pull this handle back it is reversing
00:58just like our smaller gas plate tamper and the starting will be this handle all the way forward
01:05it's a key start on this particular unit so you would key start it pull the throttle back and then
01:11bring it up to speed now the forward and backward motion is this handle up here so you don't try
01:17and muscle this thing it's too heavy you use the handle and it's forward then the forward speed
01:23and pull it back to go backwards so it's fairly simple to use even though it's a big thousand
01:28pound plate tamper you can usually you drop this down and onto the stone of a driveway or a heavy heavy
01:37area that's going to have some heavier traffic maybe trucks heavy campers a lot of traffic and that way
01:44you can make sure that you're not going to have any washboard effect or any sinking underneath your
01:49concrete or underneath your asphalt driveway so this would be something to consider when you're doing
01:54a major job and hopefully this will make that job a little easier and hopefully we'll see you soon
