A Waterbed Pump is a handy tool designed to quickly fill or drain a waterbed with minimal effort. Whether setting up a new bed, moving, or performing maintenance, the pump connects easily to standard faucets and hoses, making the process fast, efficient, and mess-free.
In this video, we’ll show you how to set up and operate a waterbed pump, connect it to your water source, and tips for safely filling and draining your mattress without leaks or air pockets.
💡 Pro Tip
Always use a conditioner when filling to keep the water fresh and prevent algae growth. When draining, tilt the mattress slightly to remove as much water as possible for easier handling.
⚠️ Safety Reminder
Check all hose connections for tight seals before starting to prevent leaks. Do not leave the pump unattended while in use. Ensure electrical connections stay dry if using an electric-powered pump.

00:00Hello and welcome back and today we're going to talk about pumps and this particular pump is one
00:17of the smallest pumps referred to as a waterbed pump and just as the name implies certainly back
00:23in the day when waterbeds were very popular this was a very very sought-after item for
00:29emptying the waterbeds it usually came or does come with a short length of three three foot of
00:36hose garden hose the fitting that you get with your waterbed would go on this end hook down to
00:41your waterbed throw a book on it or something to keep it in the water your garden hose would go on
00:46the other end put into a tub or drain or outside and then you simply plug it in and the biggest
00:53thing on these little pumps is they cannot run dry they must have the water going through them
00:58so you can certainly tell the sound when it does run with the water and that's why you want to make
01:04sure that the end that's hooked onto the waterbed is is immersed into the into the water and then once
01:10it runs dry shut it off or you burn out the little rubber impeller that's in here now another use
01:16that's probably as commoners gotten more popular with this little pump is transferring oil say from a
01:24heating tank diesel fuel from when you're maybe not sure you're getting rid of a tank of you've been
01:32running on oil and you're going to switch over to natural gas or electricity you can empty your tank
01:37with one of these as well only the hose that's that you have here usually you'll tape it to a stick
01:44so it stays straight shove it down into your tank and then you can hook on your garden hose which will
01:49probably throw away after that and you can pump it out dry you've got to remember that this length
01:55of hose that comes with the pump is as long a hose that you can use to draw your material either water
02:02or oil they'll only draw this length of hose you start putting a garden hose or something longer on
02:08it cannot create suction to draw the draw the material so make sure you only use the length that comes
02:16with it the other end of course you can put on as much as you want to send them to send the liquid
02:21wherever you want to send it and plug it into a good a good outlet as well and use a good extension
02:27cord that's a good little handy pump for transferring water it's obviously can be used for anything else
02:33cleaning out a hot tub or any other item even though some of the other bigger pumps with a little
02:38more volume would be better this is only giving you about six gallons a minute and certainly some of
02:44the bigger pumps are going to give you more material so give that some thought if you have the need and
