00:00Previously on Project Runway Australia
00:03Designers, you have just 12 hours to complete three entire outfits.
00:09I thought I was going to vomit.
00:12This to me is completely out of kilter for sure.
00:16Marth's fabrics are terrible.
00:19It's going to look like ice cream.
00:21Ivana isn't coping the best with the stress.
00:25For fuck's sake, it's just really nuts.
00:30Anthony, you are the winner of this challenge.
00:35Hopefully I can continue to be on a winning streak.
00:38Mark, you're out.
00:44The winner of Project Runway Australia will receive a serious small car,
00:48the all-new Holden Cruise CDX,
00:51a six-page fashion spread in Madison Magazine
00:54and a $100,000 opportunity
00:57to design and show their own collection
00:59at the 2010 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week,
01:02courtesy of Rosemount.
01:04This is Project Runway Australia.
01:07Can't buy style.
01:09Break the rules.
01:10The search for Australia's next big fashion designer.
01:13I want to see the passion in your fashion.
01:15Just try to ignore me.
01:17Who will be in?
01:18Who will be out?
01:19I'm in. They're out.
01:21I don't think so.
01:22For these 12 designers, Project Runway is the chance of a lifetime.
01:35It's very hard to believe that I'm actually in the final four
01:38after being eliminated so early in the show.
01:41I would really love to make it to the top three.
01:46I do have my good luck charms with me
01:50and I really hope they will do some miracles today.
01:56What about Mark's feeling today?
01:59He did some awesome stuff on the show, so he should be happy.
02:02Yeah.
02:03Really sad that Mark has gone.
02:05He's such a lovely guy.
02:06Technically, he's just a bit of a whiz.
02:09Look, I think he knew he was going.
02:11We knew he was going.
02:12You know, it's just time to go, really.
02:27Oh, wow.
02:29Hello, designers.
02:31Hi.
02:32It's time to find out about your most important challenge yet.
02:37Your final challenge.
02:39This week, there is more at stake than ever before,
02:43as your next challenge will be the one that determines
02:47which three designers will make it through to the final
02:50of Project Runway Australia.
02:53So, as you can imagine, we've planned something very special.
02:59And that's it.
03:01It's special.
03:02Christy said, we planned something really special for you guys today
03:07and then just walked off the runway.
03:09And we were like, what's going on?
03:12Oh, what's going on?
03:14Oh, what's going on?
03:21All of a sudden, this gorgeous model comes out in a couture outfit.
03:30This beautiful outfit.
03:35And then another one.
03:37I was really overwhelmed.
03:39Oh, God.
03:40I'm just going to freak you out.
03:42I was holding hands with Anthony because I was really nervous.
03:45No.
03:46Oh.
03:47Wow.
03:51Amazing.
03:52What the fuck is going on?
03:54Such beautiful clothes.
03:56They're from overseas.
03:57I had no idea what was going on.
03:59Look at the work.
04:01It was just amazing to see all those beautifully made clothes.
04:04I had a good day.
04:05This is why I'm in fashion.
04:07Where did they get these clothes from?
04:09I'm shaking.
04:11Look how beautiful she looks.
04:14The gowns, one after another, they were just stunning.
04:17Oh.
04:18Oh.
04:19Wowie.
04:20Oh, look at her.
04:22Oh.
04:23That is how you use colour.
04:25Wow.
04:26That's how you do it.
04:27Look at the fit on every single garment.
04:37Surprise.
04:38Yes.
04:39How are you doing, guys?
04:40Designers I'd like you to meet, Jacob Lupino and Anthony Pitorino.
04:44Bye.
04:45Bye.
04:46Hot.
04:49Ha.
04:50They are the very talented designers behind the fabulous jeton label,
04:54whose gorgeous designs are gracing the runway today.
04:58Jeton is one of Australia's most successful evening wear labels,
05:02with an impressive clientele that includes the likes of Nicole Kidman,
05:06Naomi Watts, Delta Goodrum, and Kylie and Danny Minogue.
05:11These stunning dresses on show are part of jetons current collection.
05:15But, as you can see, there are only nine dresses on the runway.
05:20One dress shy of a complete collection.
05:23Oh, shit.
05:25Missing from this collection is the most important dress of all.
05:30The showstopper.
05:31It's the final design to grace the runway.
05:36Which brings us to your final challenge.
05:40Designers, you must create the showstopping dress that will complete jetons' phenomenal collection.
05:48Ho, ho.
05:50I've never designed a showstopper before.
05:52I've never done couture before.
05:54It's going to be a massive challenge.
05:56You may have heard all the rumours that jeton are closing down and that they're moving to New York.
06:02Well, they're true.
06:03This is why this collection is so important to us,
06:05because it's going to be the first that anyone will see on an international stage.
06:10It's not all about embellishments.
06:12It's not all about over-the-top fabric.
06:15The most simplest gown can be the winner.
06:18It's up to you to represent yourself as to what you see here.
06:25If my outfit was on the international stage, I would probably wet my pants.
06:34When the boys announced that this would be a piece that they would take to their New York collection,
06:39everything just started to bubble up on me.
06:41This one opportunity, I actually get to showcase myself, and it was pretty emotional for me.
06:48Okay.
06:50Just a little excited.
06:52That's wonderful.
06:54You'll be fine. Just be true to yourself.
06:57Good advice. Thank you.
06:59Remember, this challenge will determine which three designers will be going through to the final,
07:05and which designer will miss out.
07:08Now, you will have a total of 20 hours to complete your design.
07:14Ample time to knock up a showstopper.
07:17Now, guys, I'm going to give you 15 minutes to study this collection more closely and sketch your ideas.
07:24I'll see you soon.
07:28Good luck, designers.
07:30Bye.
07:31I'm doing it for two boys that are really open to something special.
07:34It's amazing.
07:35You get this opportunity rarely in a lifetime.
07:38We've got 15 minutes to sketch our ideas, and there's so much to take in.
07:43I have so many ideas in my head.
07:45I have a few designs I'd love to make, but I might have to reevaluate if I can't find the fabrics.
07:50The one piece that I think captured me the most is the graffiti piece.
07:56It just had a freedom to it.
07:59It's probably going to be the most difficult dress I'll ever do.
08:02I have a very clear vision of what I want.
08:06I think I'm going for that little space kid in the two designs.
08:13I am confident in making a design that showcases part of myself, but I'm not confident in it going after the beautiful yellow dress.
08:23How can you top that?
08:24All right, designers.
08:28Your time is up.
08:30Henry is now waiting for you at Rathdowne Fabrics, where you will receive your biggest budget yet.
08:37$500 to spend on materials.
08:41Well, guys, what are you waiting for?
08:44Off you go.
08:54Designers.
08:56Hello.
08:57Well, here we are.
08:58The final challenge to design a phenomenal showstopper.
09:03I'm allocating you $500 each.
09:06And 30 minutes.
09:08$500.
09:09Oh, my God, that's so much money.
09:10Are you ready to do the best work you've ever done in your lifetime?
09:14Yeah.
09:16So Henry said go, and I went into my typical black mode.
09:20Do you have any black chiffon or black silk organza?
09:22Good old faithful black can't go wrong.
09:25Well, hopefully not.
09:28It's black organza.
09:31I'm thinking steely greys and blacks.
09:34Black?
09:36I noticed Ivana was using greys and silvers as well, but I'm not changing anything for anyone.
09:42She's going to be galactic.
09:44Everyone else is going black and I'm the only one with a really vibrant colour.
09:48Scary, but could be an advantage.
09:50All right, guys, you've got 10 minutes left, Lee.
09:53Okay, I'll go with that.
09:55I pretty much have the whole shop on the counter.
09:59Hopefully I have enough to make something, but at the moment I'm not really sure what I'm doing.
10:03How many dresses are you making?
10:05One fabulous one.
10:07I don't think the other guys have a clear vision at all. Anthony has so many fabrics.
10:10$499.50.
10:15Guys, time is up. Stop picking anything new.
10:18Bye.
10:19Anthony had six bags.
10:21I had one bag and a random colour.
10:23Let's go. Come on.
10:25Bye.
10:27Good luck.
10:28You're the best on Project Runway Australia.
10:30I'm always good for a surprise.
10:32I was so scared that it's going to be another addition to our challenge.
10:39Oh, they've got all the dresses in here.
10:43Walked into the White House studio and we saw all the jeton dresses everywhere.
10:47I'm like, oh my God. It's such an inspiration. It was amazing.
10:52Look, silk lining.
10:54Beautiful.
10:55It just feels good to be surrounded by all those beautiful garments.
10:58It puts you in the mood.
11:00Hey, designers.
11:01Hi, Anthony.
11:02How are you?
11:03How are you all doing?
11:04Good.
11:05You have got 20 hours to create a showstopper.
11:09You are designing into jetons collection.
11:12So good luck.
11:14My love and my best wishes to all of you.
11:16You guys are fantastic.
11:17You're brilliant.
11:18I don't want to do a corset because they always do corsets.
11:19I don't want to break away.
11:20I'm going to do a long gown that's all bias cut with lots of sort of really sharp angles,
11:36but with soft tulle, softening all those angles and being quite three-dimensional and with cutouts through.
11:42Beautiful colour.
11:43Oh, brilliant.
11:44That's what I...
11:45Because this is the one that inspired me.
11:47I'm pretty pumped.
11:48I just can't wait to sit down and sew.
11:50That's my favourite bit.
11:51I'm scared.
11:53Yeah, well, scared is good because it'll get you doing something really good, but...
11:58I'd love to do something short.
12:00Oh.
12:01I've been thinking of doing a short dress because Chaton had a lot of long dresses and to create a showstopper that is bigger than the yellow one, I'd need a lot more than $500 to do that and a lot more than 20 hours.
12:14Yeah.
12:15I'm just going to be like there and then it's supposed to go like that, like with the boning.
12:17Yeah.
12:18I'm not sure.
12:19I've never done that, so I really hope this works out.
12:21I am getting very inspired by the two silver gowns that they have in the workroom.
12:26I think that is where my vision is headed for.
12:29I'm going to do a jacket out of this.
12:31A jacket as well?
12:33Yeah.
12:34Yeah.
12:35Let's go.
12:36It could be really wrong, but it could be really awesome, so I'm going to go with the awesome.
12:41I'm thinking of doing a tailored jacket because Chaton really focuses on lots of tailoring and lots of jackets.
12:47I am at risk with making a short dress because it's meant to be a showstopper, so it is a risk, but I think it's going to look hot, so hopefully it works.
13:00Hey, designers, how are you?
13:01Hello, Henry.
13:02I'm about to send in your models.
13:04I'm giving you 30 minutes.
13:05I was so desperate for the model fitting.
13:08I was, like, so happy.
13:12I was so relieved and there was no chitchat.
13:14It was straight into the fitting.
13:15I'm so, like, scared because we have, like, 20 hours to do this.
13:20For Couture, you should have at least three or four fittings, so we're hoping we'll have at least two for this challenge.
13:25Otherwise, we could be screwed.
13:27It's going to be hard work.
13:29Yeah.
13:30But if you pull this off.
13:31Yeah.
13:32It's going to be stunning.
13:33After seeing the bodice on Dithia, I wasn't sure that I was heading in the right direction for my design, and I started to go a bit crazy.
13:39I was just worried about it looking a bit dated and old.
13:42Black chiffon or ruched.
13:44Silvana tried the corset on.
13:46It was okay, but I hadn't actually put together my jacket, and I was like, oh, shit, I'd better get this done.
13:52I'm going to quickly sew this jacket because I really want to try it on you.
13:55So, ran into the sewing room, stitched it up in about five minutes, and I tried it on straight away.
14:00It's fun.
14:01I'm going to be really happy with this once this is done.
14:04It gives my focal point, so it needs to be amazing.
14:06And I'll just draw on you, and that won't be it.
14:09I have never made a corset before, so I'm kind of struggling with the idea of doing one, but I'll do my best.
14:17Go for a bit of a walk.
14:19It's amazing, isn't it, when it's a really elaborate gown, how long it takes to be fitting with the model.
14:24Yeah, half an hour.
14:25Done.
14:26The time with Naomi went really quick, because when Henry walked in, I thought, oh, my God, that was 30 minutes.
14:31It just makes you realise how much time you spend on couture and fitting.
14:34It's really important.
14:35It's not right.
14:36I'm screwed.
14:37Hey, Villian.
14:38Naomi.
14:39Done.
14:40Woo!
14:45Got an hour.
14:46Shh.
14:47I don't even really like what I'm doing yet.
14:50It's great.
14:51Me neither.
14:52Good work, Lauren.
14:53I'd really love to win Project Runway.
14:55It would be an absolute dream come true.
14:58Fashion's very much in my family.
15:00My nana used to be a seamstress.
15:02My dad can also sew.
15:04I think the tension about the challenge and getting into the final three is affecting us all.
15:09So not happy right now.
15:14Freaking hell.
15:16Lauren's totally lost the plot.
15:18Just like me.
15:19We're just going a bit crazy and we're having a special moment.
15:22Do you need a hug, Anthony?
15:24I just need a hot dress.
15:28That's all I fucking need.
15:30What are you doing, Lauren?
15:32Seriously, what are you doing?
15:34I was really not feeling my skirt idea that I had going on.
15:38So going completely crazy with the stress of it all.
15:42Guess what, Will?
15:43Hmm?
15:44I'm changing.
15:45Changing what?
15:47My stuff.
15:48I decided to turn my skirt upside down.
15:51Instead of having all the volume out the hem, she's going to have it all around her neck.
15:54I think I'm chucking, not using my corset, but that's like why.
15:59You're not going to use your corset?
16:01Oh my God.
16:02You two are freaking me out.
16:03We're freaking ourselves out.
16:04Could you just finish something?
16:06Anthony, I still don't think he knows what he's doing and even Lauren is still changing
16:16her mind.
16:17They're making me nervous.
16:18Guys, it's eight.
16:19We've got to go.
16:20Oh my God.
16:21What a day.
16:22Oh no.
16:23Let's go.
16:24Alright, come on.
16:25Let's get out of here before.
16:26Before you change your mind again.
16:27Yeah.
16:28I love how you guys have committed to your outfit.
16:31I'm so committed, William, now.
16:33It's the end of our first day in the workroom.
16:36We still have 11 hours to go tomorrow.
16:38I do feel stressed out because the time is not on our side.
16:44Let's go, kids.
16:45Bye.
16:46I woke up this morning and I've kind of felt a bit sentimental about this whole thing
16:58because it's our last day that we're all going to be sewing together.
17:00It's a bit weird.
17:01It's the last challenge and I really want to make it to the final three more than anything.
17:07Hey guys, it's our last day.
17:10Oh my God, it's the weather.
17:11Last sewing day, guys.
17:12Come on.
17:13I really want to win Project Runway Australia.
17:14My mother is a fashion lecturer so I've definitely had fashion around me since I was very young.
17:28I don't want to go home so hopefully I don't go home and I make an absolutely stunning outfit.
17:34It's going to be nuts and I'm going to sew this, like stitch it onto this so you're creating that illusion with the shape which I'm going to do with the bias.
17:40I've realised this morning by turning my skirt upside down that it's a really risky thing to do.
17:46I've got to be very brave and make it work to really carry it off.
17:50It really is a couture environment because it's even confusing me.
17:55Going home is not an option for me right now.
17:58I'm here because I want to be in the final three.
18:00Oh my God.
18:04Okay designers, how are you all doing?
18:06Hi Henry.
18:07Hi Henry.
18:08You know I'm always good for a surprise.
18:11Oh yes.
18:12I knew it.
18:13When Henry walked in and said he has a surprise, I was so scared that it's going to be another addition to our challenge.
18:22Are you ready for it?
18:23Yes.
18:24Good.
18:28Gentlemen, please come in.
18:31Hey guys.
18:32Jeton boys.
18:33How are you doing?
18:34When the Jeton boys walked in I was like, oh my God they're here.
18:38So you know Anthony and Jacob, they are the designers of Jeton.
18:42There is no single label in Australia at the moment that has more buzz.
18:47You see their frocks everywhere from the Logies to Hollywood, everywhere.
18:52Now what's amazing is these gentlemen have taken some time out of their really, really, really busy schedule
18:57to literally work one on one with you and critique you.
19:01Oh my God.
19:02They're going to judge it.
19:03They're going to hate it.
19:04What are they going to say?
19:06Lauren, this is Anthony.
19:07Hi Anthony.
19:08And Jacob.
19:09Hi.
19:10She's starstruck.
19:11Lauren, can you explain to the gentleman here what exactly you're creating here?
19:18What's the end product going to look like?
19:20I was originally going to create a big skirt but then trying to impress over your yellow
19:26dress there to make the showstopper was just very daunting.
19:29So I thought I'd do something crazy and take all the volume up the top.
19:33So I'm going to create this big tulle on top and use the horse hair sort of as an invisible,
19:40the seams and the constructions.
19:41That's what I'm really getting through your designs.
19:44One thing that I may sort of, when I'm looking at it, possibly the centre panel, I'd like to understand a little bit more.
19:57Only because we created something very similar a while ago and no one took to it.
20:01Next, on Project Runway Australia.
20:02I'm a little bit scared of the bodice area.
20:03I almost had a heart attack.
20:04You have ten more minutes.
20:05It's absolutely crazy.
20:06One thing that I may sort of, when I'm looking at it, possibly the centre panel.
20:22I'd like to understand a little bit more.
20:25Only because we created something very similar a while ago and no one took to it.
20:31It's just about evolving this piece here into the next some way perhaps.
20:35Okay.
20:36The Chaton boys advise me to continue the flow through of my dress up through the neck and through the tulle and I'm definitely taking that on board.
20:43So what are you loving about the dress?
20:45I love the fact that we wouldn't close a show with a short dress.
20:48You've taken us to another level.
20:50So I like that injection of youth and I think that's what you bring to us.
20:54It's very cool and chic and I think you're right.
20:56You need to just, you know, when it walks out it needs to just go wow.
20:59So maybe just that little bit more wow.
21:01Are you clear?
21:02Yeah, it's been great help.
21:03Excellent.
21:04Alright, gentlemen, follow me on to the next designer.
21:05Thank you very much.
21:06Thank you very much.
21:07Thank you very much.
21:08Okay.
21:09Cool.
21:10Um, yeah.
21:11Now I can breathe.
21:14Hey, William, where are you?
21:16I'm glad I wore this outfit for when the Chaton boys came in.
21:19Shows off my assets.
21:21Tell me what's going on here.
21:22Because there's a lot of work in this.
21:23Tell the gentleman, please.
21:24So it's just lots of light and shade.
21:27So we've got sheer panels through, then with this really subtle beige through.
21:31Very angular, but soft.
21:33And the silhouette's very long.
21:36And then with a very big Godet, but again, very angular pointed Godet.
21:41So it's not so traditional.
21:47I love the fact that there's no corsetry, there's no boning.
21:49It's a gown that's basically going to glide on the body.
21:53And it's all about amazing cut and see how the panels all slide through.
21:57And there's no room for error though with this.
22:00No.
22:01It needs to be made beautifully.
22:02Because if you look on the inside and you see it, well, that's what I am.
22:05The stitch work, isn't it the tension on the stitch work?
22:07Yeah, it is.
22:08It's all about that.
22:09I'm not regretting doing the stress at all.
22:12Your needlework and the tension is going to be everything.
22:15The execution, it's going to be difficult and it's going to be hard to pull off.
22:20But I'm going to try.
22:23What are you doing down there, Anthony?
22:25Hi, Anthony.
22:26How are you?
22:27I've got this stuff turned on, boys.
22:28Come in, gentlemen.
22:29Jacob, Anthony.
22:30So tell us all what you're designing here, Anthony.
22:32So when I saw your runway, I was really inspired obviously by your dresses,
22:36but the thing that pulled it together were the flower and the headpieces.
22:39I took inspiration from their headpieces, not their dresses.
22:42So I hope they're not insulted.
22:44It's quite corseted and it's very fitted on my model.
22:48It's all boned and then at the back I'm going to have a huge bustle
22:51because I want to create an interesting slouette.
22:53Pretty much the jacket is the huge focus of my outfit.
23:00I think for me, I think the jacket is amazing
23:02and that's obviously going to be the main feature here.
23:05Definitely.
23:06Just a little bit concerned about the dress.
23:08Yeah.
23:11So once this jacket is removed, will we have that wow factor?
23:15Jacob and Anthony wanted a wow factor in their dress
23:18and I hope it will be sexy enough as it is
23:23because I don't want it to be too slutty.
23:25Looking at the weight of the top,
23:27Yes.
23:28If the bottom is like a simple gown.
23:30Fit it.
23:31Fit it.
23:32To the blower or short?
23:33Yeah.
23:34Short.
23:35The cream.
23:36Do you like the cream or would you consider changing it to black?
23:39No, I think black's too black.
23:41I think the cream's good.
23:42Classic.
23:43Stunning.
23:44You look back at it in, you know, 20 years time and it's a classic statement
23:48whereas black can be a bit too heavy.
23:50They suggested for me to keep it cream and just have a plunging neckline.
23:55I really didn't want it to be too short and too low.
23:58So I think I'm just going to lower it at the back and hopefully it pays off.
24:03Hey gents, I want to introduce you to the gorgeous Ivana.
24:06Ivana, that's Jacob.
24:07Hello.
24:08Anthony.
24:09Tell us a little bit about what you've got going on here.
24:11Okay, so when I saw your show, I was inspired by the space part of your show
24:16and I'm going all silver and black, parts of black here.
24:20To make it a bit more dramatic, I decided to do that train,
24:23which I have 10 metres of.
24:25I won't use all 10 metres, but...
24:26Yeah.
24:29I'm loving the inspiration behind it.
24:31Love it.
24:32Clever.
24:33The silhouette's amazing and great colour choice.
24:34I love the fact that it's got that space element coming into it.
24:37The train's fun.
24:38I like the shape, the balloon.
24:40I just want to know how this is going to work through here.
24:44Is that all complete?
24:45That's how it's going to look?
24:46No, no, no.
24:47Okay, so what's happening there?
24:48It's all draped at the moment.
24:50Jacob and Anthony didn't like the idea of having something attached to the skirt.
24:54So I decided to make a cape.
24:58I think for me, I'm a little bit scared of the bodice area.
25:01I'm concerned about the fit.
25:03Yep.
25:04You put your work up here for criticism because that actually just sits the way it sits.
25:09You accept that, but people hone in on that bodice, which is so tailored,
25:13and that's the bit that is going to carry the whole dress.
25:16So that literally needs to sit like liquid gold.
25:19They want to see perfection with the stitching and clean lines.
25:23I think I can deliver that if only I had a little bit more time.
25:28All right, designers.
25:29That was quite an amazing final critique.
25:33We're leading you to it.
25:34Good luck.
25:35We'll see you on the right mic.
25:36I love you very much.
25:39Thanks, guys.
25:40Thanks, guys.
25:41I love you.
25:42Thanks.
25:43You guys are here.
25:44Thanks, guys.
25:45Thanks.
25:46Bye for now.
25:47We're gonna be very happy.
25:48We're gonna be happy.
25:49Bye for now.
25:50Please.
25:51Go for now.
25:52Okay, now I'm gonna be back.
25:53Let that end.
25:54You're gonna be happy.
25:55We're gonna be happy.
25:56Bye.
25:57Bye.
25:58Bye for now.
25:59Bye.
26:00Bye.
26:01Bye.
26:02Goodbye.
26:03Bye.
26:04Bye.
26:05Bye, bye.
26:07Bye.
26:08Hey, designers, I want you to gather around.
26:16I've brought in Mr. Joe Bailey.
26:18It's so fantastic having Joe Bailey on Project Runway
26:21because he's an internationally renowned hairstylist.
26:24I think you should have a very clear idea in your head
26:26what you want to do.
26:28And with regard to this particular challenge,
26:30I would be borrowing very heavily
26:31from what you saw the other night.
26:33We're all pretty clear that we need to stick with the style
26:36that Jaton had showed on their runway.
26:39I would say that you would want this piece
26:41to just fit into that collection.
26:42You don't want it to go collection, collect, collection.
26:44Ah, what's that?
26:45Okay, go back to it and good luck.
26:50Guys, five minutes.
26:55Crap.
26:56Anthony?
26:58I'm on my way, but still a lot to do.
27:01Yeah, same.
27:03I am a bit worried that my dress isn't showstopping.
27:06I love it, but it's not necessarily a showstopper,
27:10so I'm a bit concerned.
27:14Designers, believe it or not, your 20 hours is finito.
27:19Our 20 hours is up, our final challenge is over,
27:21and I hope I make it into the top three.
27:24Crazy.
27:24It's the final four.
27:26I know.
27:26It's runway morning,
27:33and I've been up since 2.22 this morning.
27:37I haven't slept.
27:39My mind's going 100 miles an hour,
27:41and I woke up thinking of a million things.
27:44It's runway day!
27:46This competition means everything to me.
27:49It could really help launch your career
27:51into the fashion industry.
28:01Hi, guys.
28:03I walked into the workroom this morning.
28:06I almost had a heart attack.
28:08I realised that I have so much more to do.
28:11There's not a lot of talking.
28:13There's a lot of running around.
28:14I really need this garment to be perfect and well-made.
28:18All four of us really want to be in the top three,
28:20so the pressure's on.
28:22Ladies, come in.
28:24Henry brings in our models,
28:26and the first thing I do is fit Dithia.
28:28You literally have now a little bit less than two hours
28:31to do the final work on your piece,
28:35so it's off to the Trésame Salon
28:37and the Max Factor make-up area.
28:40Don't forget to make great use of your Gregory Ladner.
28:44Accessory wall.
28:45Of course, Andrea and Yohan,
28:47who've got just some beautiful, beautiful shoes.
28:49Two more hours to complete our outfits.
28:52I'm still finishing off the cape and the skirt.
28:55I don't know how this is going to go.
28:57Bit nervous.
29:00What I was thinking for Dithia is,
29:02I love the waves that Chaton expressed in their collection,
29:04so I was thinking of doing that all across there.
29:06Yeah.
29:07It's going to be really simple.
29:09I agree.
29:09Sleet hair.
29:10Okay.
29:10Just sleep.
29:11In a bun.
29:12In a bun.
29:12Just a bit tight.
29:13Okay.
29:14I'm pretty excited and nervous.
29:17I would like a dark lips spiker,
29:20then dark cherry red.
29:22And I wanted to colour her face
29:24in some Sharersky crystals,
29:25if that's possible.
29:27All right.
29:28All right.
29:29Bye.
29:29See you then.
29:30Bye.
29:30Designers, you have 10 more minutes.
29:37When Henry said we've got 10 minutes left,
29:41I was just about finished hand sewing.
29:44Nearly done.
29:45Yeah.
29:46I'm happy with what I've done.
29:47It's absolutely crazy.
29:49I've never thought I'd make something like that before.
29:52Oh, yeah.
29:53I'll just go out with your girlfriend.
29:54I was like, oh, my God.
29:57The jacket looks beautiful.
29:58The skirt looks beautiful.
30:00Do you like it?
30:01I love it.
30:02Love it.
30:02I love it more.
30:03I hope the judges appreciate the work that's gone into it.
30:07Looking around the workroom at Jetons gowns,
30:11I really think mine would fit in.
30:14I might have the winning design.
30:16You look beautiful in that.
30:18Wow, from here.
30:19Because your skin tone shows through.
30:21Wow.
30:22I'm really happy with the way the dress fits and it folds.
30:27It worked.
30:28I was nervous until the 20th.
30:29But one fitting for this kind of dress is crazy.
30:3320 hours for this kind of dress.
30:36All right, designers, everybody tools down, please.
30:40All of us surrounded Henry, and it was kind of sad
30:43because we've all put so much work into it
30:45and everyone's worked so hard
30:47and really wants to be in the top threes.
30:49So it's really harsh that something has to go.
30:52Before I send you onto the runway,
30:54I have to say this is a very emotional moment for all of us.
30:57You've put in a tremendous amount of work.
31:00And now is the time to enjoy every second of it.
31:04I've had a ball of fun on Project Runway.
31:06It's been amazing.
31:08I've never thought I could do anything like this
31:10and be pushed to the limits
31:12to create garments and vegetables
31:13and things from a hardware store.
31:15It's just been amazing to have 10 weeks
31:19of such creative time
31:20where you don't have to think about anything else
31:22in the outside world.
31:24I am so grateful to being given the opportunity
31:27to be a part of Project Runway not once but twice.
31:31I've really enjoyed every moment here,
31:33so I'm going to try and leave happy
31:35because I can't be ashamed with anything I've done.
31:38Are you ready for the passion in your fashion?
31:41Yes.
31:41Then let's go to the runway.
31:42Let's go.
31:44Congratulations, Anthony, William, Lauren and Ivana.
31:51Off to the runway.
31:53Next on Project Runway Australia.
31:56I don't know that it's a showstopper.
32:00It's got to be perfect
32:01and I'm not saying perfection.
32:04Wrong choice of fabric.
32:10Hello, designers.
32:11Hi, Christy.
32:12Welcome to the runway.
32:15I want to congratulate each of you
32:16for making it this far.
32:18But only three of you
32:20will make it through to the final
32:22of Project Runway Australia.
32:24That means one of you will be out.
32:28It was only fitting
32:29that for this all-important challenge,
32:32you had to create the ultimate dress
32:33in a runway collection,
32:35the showstopper.
32:37However, we didn't ask you
32:39to create a showstopper
32:40for just any collection.
32:42We asked you to create the showstopping dress
32:45that would complete the latest collection
32:47from top Australian evening wear label,
32:50Jeton.
32:52This is your last chance
32:54to prove why you deserve
32:55to be in the final
32:56of Project Runway Australia.
32:58So, with more on the line
33:00than ever before,
33:01I hope that you all rose to the occasion.
33:04Your future in this competition
33:05depends on it.
33:07Now, let's meet the judges.
33:10First up, we have
33:11leading Australian designer,
33:12Jason Brunston.
33:14Hi, designers.
33:15Hi, Jason.
33:15Next, we have fashion buyer extraordinaire,
33:19Sarah Gale.
33:20Hi, everyone.
33:20Hi, Sarah.
33:21And our guest judges this week,
33:23the very talented designers
33:25behind the Jeton label,
33:27Jacob Lupino and Anthony Pitorino.
33:29Hey, designers.
33:30Hi.
33:31Hi.
33:31They will decide
33:33if you have what it takes
33:34to make the cut.
33:35We will score your designs
33:37as they come down the runway.
33:38One of you will be named the winner,
33:40and one of you
33:41will be out.
33:44Let the show begin.
33:52When Silvana walked down the runway,
33:54I definitely thought
33:55it was a showstopper.
33:59It definitely reflects me
34:01as a designer,
34:02and I just hope
34:03the judges understand
34:05who I am.
34:05When I saw my design
34:14out on the runway,
34:15I thought it looked
34:16really beautiful.
34:18I do think
34:19my design is a showstopper.
34:25I am worried
34:27that the judges
34:27might pick on
34:28the construction part
34:29of my outfit.
34:30It was a lot of work
34:40for 20 hours,
34:41and the hardest dress
34:42I've ever done.
34:43I'm quite proud of it,
34:44so fingers crossed.
34:51The colour still plagues me.
34:52Seeing my design
35:01on the runway
35:01in the silhouette,
35:02it looked amazing.
35:03It was this big,
35:04transparent,
35:05chill thing,
35:06and then walking down,
35:07I was finally happy.
35:13It's all come together
35:15really well.
35:15We've scored your designs.
35:26Three of you
35:27will go through
35:27to the final,
35:29and one of you
35:30will be out.
35:34Let's bring out
35:35your models.
35:35Let's bring out
35:36your models.
35:37Let's bring out
35:38your models.
35:39Let's bring out
35:40your models.
35:43Let's bring out
35:44I would like
35:49to start with
35:49Ivana.
35:51Jacob,
35:52could you see
35:52Ivana's design
35:53fitting in
35:53with your collection?
35:56I can.
35:57I love your
35:57interpretation
35:58of the space element.
36:01It does have
36:02a lot of
36:02jeton elements
36:03to it,
36:04but once again,
36:04I can see
36:05how you've made
36:05it your own as well.
36:07To me,
36:07I had written down
36:08a little black
36:09riding hood.
36:10We all did.
36:11Yeah, we all did.
36:12I love the tool
36:13coming out
36:14below those.
36:14But I would have
36:15liked to have
36:15seen the bodice
36:16tighter.
36:17And this particular
36:18design,
36:19it's all about
36:19the bodice.
36:20It's like a frame
36:21for that little
36:21torsillette there.
36:23There was so much
36:23time put into
36:24the skirt with
36:25the boning,
36:25and we did
36:25see that yesterday.
36:27Spent five hours
36:28on that.
36:28Probably too much
36:29time spent there
36:30and not enough
36:31on the fit
36:32of the bodice.
36:33I made it as
36:34tight as it could
36:35be.
36:35Yeah.
36:36Jason, do you
36:36think this is a
36:37showstopper?
36:38I don't know
36:39that it's a
36:40showstopper.
36:41I think it's a
36:42part of the show.
36:42The silhouette
36:44that you've tried
36:45to achieve is
36:46adventurous and
36:47it's an exciting
36:48silhouette.
36:49The cake is
36:49drama, but I have
36:51to say, for a
36:51showstopper, it's
36:52got to be
36:53perfect, and I'm
36:54not seeing
36:55perfection.
36:58Anthony, what did
37:00you think of
37:00Anthony's design?
37:01it's divine, it's
37:04very cool, very
37:05chic.
37:06It may have
37:06possibly needed a
37:07little bit more
37:08drama in the
37:09skirt.
37:10I could definitely
37:11see it through our
37:11collection.
37:12And I love it.
37:13So, you know, it
37:13can become the
37:14showstopper.
37:15I would just need
37:16to sort of, you
37:17know, make her a
37:18bride.
37:18Yeah.
37:19Get her some
37:19flowers or something.
37:20Black roses.
37:21Black roses.
37:22I agree.
37:23She's a very
37:23black widow.
37:25I think your
37:25jacket is amazing.
37:27Your workmanship
37:28looks gorgeous.
37:30I think you've
37:30used a lot of
37:31different fabrications
37:32in there.
37:33I love your
37:33waistband as well
37:34and your collar.
37:36So you're almost
37:36there.
37:37But we needed
37:38more from the
37:39bottom.
37:39We really needed
37:40more.
37:40This is what I
37:41love.
37:42You like short.
37:43Yeah.
37:43And I thought
37:44short is really in
37:45right now, so I
37:46wanted to keep it
37:47relevant now.
37:48You know, if this
37:49outfit is perhaps
37:50surrounded by long
37:51dresses, it could be
37:52a showstopper.
37:53True.
37:53That's very true.
37:54Jason, what did
37:57you think of
37:58William's design?
38:00I think it was
38:01brave.
38:02I think the
38:02execution lets
38:04down the design.
38:06I'm seeing
38:06puckered seams,
38:07which for me,
38:08just leave me
38:09cold.
38:10What is the
38:10fabric?
38:11Silk satin.
38:13Yeah.
38:13But stretch.
38:14Stretch.
38:15I think wrong
38:17choice of fabric
38:18and colour for
38:19me.
38:20Why did you
38:21choose stretch
38:21satin?
38:23For colour.
38:23It's probably
38:25the most difficult
38:26dress I think
38:26I've ever
38:27adventured to
38:29do.
38:29When your model
38:30was walking,
38:31it really flowed
38:32absolutely beautifully.
38:33It really looked
38:34elegant and graceful.
38:35And the split
38:36when she walked,
38:37wow.
38:38It looks fabulous.
38:38I love that you've
38:39incorporated that
38:40because Jacob and
38:41Anthony do that
38:42quite a lot in
38:43their design.
38:44How much does it
38:45mean to you to be
38:45in the final
38:46Project Runway
38:47Australia?
38:48It means
38:49everything.
38:50Thank you,
38:51William.
38:53Lauren.
38:55Jacob, do you
38:56think this fits in
38:57with the jeton
38:58collection?
38:59I think it does.
39:00It definitely has
39:01the drama, loving
39:02the silhouette, the
39:03shape, the fit.
39:04I think definitely
39:05bringing that
39:05jewel up is brave
39:07and bold because
39:08it could have
39:08looked very
39:09costumey.
39:10I thought,
39:10what a fantastic
39:11idea.
39:12Crazy.
39:13Crazy, but we
39:14love it.
39:15When I saw it on
39:16the runway, I kind
39:17of felt that the
39:18black triangle in the
39:19front was too heavy.
39:20I felt like I
39:22missed out on
39:23seeing the
39:24underneath of the
39:25dress.
39:26Jason?
39:27It's quite
39:28beautiful.
39:29She looks haunted.
39:30She looks ghostly.
39:31And it looks really
39:33dramatic on every
39:34angle.
39:35Can you just slowly
39:36turn around?
39:37See, it looks
39:37fantastic from every
39:39angle.
39:39It's fabulous.
39:40I do have to say
39:41though, that fringing
39:41around the neck,
39:43it's a bit billy
39:44goat.
39:47I'm not sure that I
39:48love that.
39:48I think it was
39:49just a bit cleaner.
39:50Yeah, I feel like
39:51she needs a shave.
39:57We've heard what
39:58you've had to say.
39:59We're now going to
40:00have a chat and
40:01we'll call you back.
40:03You can leave the
40:04runway.
40:05So, what did we
40:18think of today's
40:19show?
40:19Well, I thought it
40:20was a couple of
40:21showstoppers.
40:21It was a bit of a
40:22mixed bag.
40:23Well, let's talk
40:23about the ones that
40:24weren't so impressive.
40:25I'll start with
40:26Ivana.
40:26Ivana, I think, had
40:28all the right
40:29intentions.
40:30However, craftsmanship
40:31just wasn't there.
40:32Her construction
40:34was really poor
40:35for a showstopper.
40:36And the fabrication
40:36in the cloak was
40:38really bad.
40:38It was like a
40:39raincoat.
40:39I think Ivana's
40:40colour scheme
40:41worked.
40:42It had something
40:43behind the screen
40:44as a dramatic
40:45effect.
40:46But then when it
40:46came out and we
40:47saw all of it,
40:48it kind of fell
40:49apart.
40:49Yes.
40:49It didn't have
40:51enough va-va-voom
40:53to it at all.
40:55It had a va-va-voom
40:56in their
40:58construction books.
41:00No-no.
41:00Yeah, you're right.
41:02I know.
41:04Right, well, let's
41:05talk about Williams.
41:07I think design-wise,
41:09brilliant.
41:10Yeah.
41:11But he was just
41:11letting us down as
41:13far as the pressing
41:14and, you know,
41:15the puckering of
41:16the scenes.
41:16And the colour.
41:17And that's exactly
41:17what disturbed me,
41:18the fact that he
41:19chose the fabric
41:20by the colour.
41:21By the colour.
41:21I know.
41:22Wrong.
41:22That was wrong.
41:24It's inexcusable,
41:25really.
41:25I thought it was
41:26absolutely stunning
41:27from the back
41:27when his model
41:28turned around.
41:29Stunning.
41:30The buttons,
41:31the way that it
41:31flowed on the runway.
41:33His pattern-making
41:34was incredible.
41:35But as it was,
41:35I can't see it
41:36on your runway.
41:37No.
41:38No.
41:38The colour.
41:39I don't think we
41:39could.
41:40No.
41:42Let's talk about
41:43Anthony's.
41:44I think his
41:45craftsmanship is
41:46beautiful.
41:47The choice of
41:47fabrics, the
41:49tailoring that he's
41:49doing, fantastic.
41:51It's very
41:52sophisticated work.
41:53It really is.
41:54His head always
41:55goes out of the
41:56box.
41:56Yeah, it does.
41:56It's totally
41:57wearable, but it's
41:58still dramatic.
42:00The jacket was
42:00fantastic.
42:01It was so cool.
42:01The jacket was
42:02exquisite.
42:03It was amazing.
42:03The whole look was
42:05races or cocktails.
42:07I think for him to
42:07have created a
42:08longer skirt from
42:09cocktail to race
42:10where it would have
42:11gone to evening
42:12upright would have
42:13been a totally
42:14different level.
42:14Absolutely.
42:16All right, and
42:17let's talk about
42:17Lauren's.
42:19Lauren's I loved.
42:20Lauren's I loved
42:21Lauren's as well.
42:22I didn't at first.
42:23Then as I saw it come
42:24down the runway and I
42:25saw all the different
42:26aspects to that tulle and
42:28everything, I thought,
42:29okay, wow.
42:30I thought the tulle
42:31overlay was just
42:32exquisite.
42:33Yeah, it was.
42:33I really did.
42:34It was fun.
42:35It was playful, yet it
42:36was elegant.
42:37It was mysterious.
42:38I was really worried
42:39about this.
42:41The head was a chest
42:43rug.
42:44Yeah.
42:45Could have perhaps
42:46been jewelled in some
42:48beautiful black stones
42:49or something to give
42:50you that instant drama
42:51and a little bit of
42:51blink perhaps.
42:55I think we've got four
42:56really strong designers.
42:57Either way, we cut it.
42:59I mean, let's face it,
42:59they were all quite
43:00amazing.
43:01They were.
43:01And this is the
43:02toughest decision I
43:03believe we've had to
43:03make yet.
43:04Yeah, it is.
43:04I do too.
43:05Yeah.
43:05So are we all sure?
43:07I think so.
43:08Yes, we are sure.
43:09Yeah.
43:09Yes.
43:09Okay.
43:10Let's bring them back
43:11out.
43:11Okay.
43:12Okay.
43:13It's been a long
43:16journey, but only
43:18three of you will
43:19make it through to
43:20the final.
43:22And one of you
43:23will be out.
43:34Designers, it's been
43:35a long journey, but
43:38only three of you will
43:40make it through to
43:41the final.
43:41And one of you will
43:46be out.
43:53Let's start with the
43:55winner of this
43:55challenge.
44:01Congratulations to
44:02Lauren.
44:05Lauren.
44:05Each week you have
44:14shown us what a gifted
44:15designer you are.
44:18And this win guarantees
44:19you a spot in the final.
44:23We've been so impressed
44:24with what you've shown us
44:25today.
44:25Congratulations to your
44:27efforts and we would love
44:28to offer you a month's
44:29internship at Chaton.
44:30That sounds fantastic.
44:32A dream come true to
44:37work with them.
44:38It's amazing.
44:39And every bride needs
44:41her bouquet.
44:42Oh.
44:43So here are our black
44:44roses for our rock chick
44:46bride.
44:47Congratulations.
44:48Amazing.
44:49Wow.
44:51You can now leave the
44:52runway.
44:54I never thought I would
44:59make it this far.
45:00I dreamed I would, but
45:01making it this far is an
45:03incredible achievement.
45:05Oh my God.
45:07It means I'm in the top
45:09three and I get to do a
45:10collection that's shown to
45:11Australia, which is
45:12absolutely amazing.
45:14It's a dream come true.
45:15The next person who'll be
45:23joining Lauren in the
45:24final is Anthony.
45:34Congratulations.
45:35You're in.
45:36Thanks so much, guys.
45:37You can leave the runway.
45:45Oh my God.
45:52The young ones.
45:53Yeah.
45:53Go the young ones this year.
46:01William.
46:03Ivana.
46:05Sadly, one of you will be
46:07out.
46:09William.
46:10You impressed us from the
46:12very first challenge.
46:14And throughout this
46:14competition, we've watched
46:16you grow into an
46:17exceptional designer.
46:19But what you produced
46:20today was not the
46:21showstopper you needed
46:22to deliver and has left
46:24us wondering if we've
46:25seen the best of you.
46:29Ivana, you've proven
46:31yourself to be a talented
46:32and innovative designer
46:34whose creativity never
46:35failed to surprise us.
46:38But today, what you
46:39sent down the runway was
46:40overambitious at the
46:42expense of your
46:42workmanship.
46:43And you took a risk that
46:45just didn't pay off.
46:50The last designer
46:51joining Lauren and
46:54Anthony in the final
46:55is
46:58William.
47:06Congratulations.
47:07You're in.
47:12You can leave the runway.
47:19That means, Ivana, you're
47:30out.
47:31Thank you so much.
47:33It's been a wonderful
47:34opportunity and an
47:35experience.
47:37And especially thank you for
47:38letting me be part of this
47:39project runway, not once but
47:41twice.
47:42We think you're an
47:43incredible talent and we're
47:44certain that you're going to
47:45have a very successful future
47:47as a designer.
47:51Bye, darling.
47:53Good luck.
47:55Bye.
47:59Project runway has been such
48:00a positive experience.
48:02It taught me how not to be
48:04scared, follow my vision and
48:07follow it through.
48:07I don't feel disappointed.
48:14I'm actually very happy
48:16because I did prove that I'm
48:18a creative and talented
48:19designer.
48:20Hello, hello, my little
48:21petal doves.
48:22Unfortunately, you're going
48:24to have to kiss everybody
48:24goodbye.
48:25You're going to have to go
48:26back to the workroom, pack
48:28your things and leave.
48:30There is always in fashion a
48:32place for somebody prepared to
48:34take a risk and be ambitious.
48:36With a bit more time and a bit
48:39more experience, watch out.
48:41That's what I say.
48:42Good on you, babe.
48:42Thank you, Henry.
48:43Oh.
48:44Darling.
48:46This is definitely not the
48:48last that you'll be seeing
48:49of me.
48:50I think this is just the
48:51beginning.
48:59On Project Runway Australia.
49:00For your final challenge,
49:02you'll be given a budget of
49:03$10,000.
49:05I cannot believe I've made
49:07it to the final.
49:08I'm so excited.
49:09I will be going to visit each
49:11and every one of you.
49:12I'm very excited to see what
49:13you guys come up with.
49:14How are you?
49:15This is really aggressive.
49:18Some pieces that are dowdy.
49:20What's that?
49:21How high?
49:22Oh, my God.
49:23That just freaked me out.
49:26I'm going back to the White
49:27House.
49:27I have an additional surprise
49:30for you.
49:32Oh, shit!
49:34Rude.
