00:00Previously on Project Runway Canada, you will design post-it gowns for breast cancer survivors.
00:07I was just like, how are we going to make clothes out of paper?
00:12Jessica's dress was hideous.
00:14I don't think she's a fashion designer. I think she is a fashion regurgitator.
00:20Oh man, I'm freaking out right now. I'm kind of like feeling off a little bit.
00:25You know, stress feels like it's setting in.
00:30Today's winner is Jessica.
00:33Jason, it was a train wreck.
00:37I'm sorry, she just didn't measure up.
00:44The finalists of Project Runway Canada will show at Toronto Fashion Week.
00:49And the winner will receive a cover and a feature spread in Elle Canada magazine.
00:54A professional portfolio photo shoot, courtesy of L'Oreal Paris.
00:59A runway to retail, business mentorship at winners.
01:02And $100,000 to start their own fashion line.
01:08Ready for the runway?
01:1014 designers, but only one can win.
01:26On the runway, tempers will flare, hand lines will fly.
01:43On the runway, on the runway.
01:48Time for the show designers.
01:54Because fashion isn't always pretty.
02:03It's very dreary.
02:13I definitely miss Jason lots.
02:18It's kind of quieter and less exciting and less fun.
02:27For the last challenge, being in the bottom on the panel, it was really hard.
02:31There is a lot going on.
02:33The gold line, ouch, you know?
02:35It's too literal to really be fashionable.
02:38I can listen to criticism and if they're right, I'm not going to try and argue with them.
02:43But you lose your drive.
02:45Like, you feel like you're being, like, stifled.
02:53Two wins?
02:54I feel awesome.
02:55I feel like I can do whatever I need to do to make it to the end.
02:58I think it's official that we have a new frontrunner in this competition.
03:01I didn't like Jessica's at all.
03:02I actually thought that she was going to lose.
03:04Um, I thought it was hideous, actually.
03:07So what do you think the next challenge is going to be?
03:11Both Jean-Veb and Kim came into this competition thinking they were the bomb, but they haven't
03:21won any of the challenges.
03:23I feel weird that they thought your dress took so much work, that you just put post-its
03:27up on the body.
03:28So what?
03:29You're just going to hate on everyone that gets a good critique?
03:31Like, I don't know.
03:34I think it's just a little bit of bitterness, to be honest with you.
03:41Hello, designers.
03:48Hello.
03:49At this point in the competition, there is no more immunity.
03:54Let's bring out the models.
03:58Remember, this is a competition for the models as well.
04:09The model paired with the winning designer will get a cover and an inside spread in Elle
04:14Canada magazine.
04:17In the last challenge, you worked with breast cancer survivors.
04:23So that means today, two models will be out.
04:29Jessica, you were the winner of the last challenge.
04:32So you get to choose your model first.
04:37Who do you want to work with?
04:40Alyssa.
04:41Alyssa, congratulations.
04:42You may leave the runway.
04:44And now for the rest of you designers, it's the bag again.
04:53Genevieve, who do you want to work with?
04:55I think I'm going to stick with Stephanie.
04:57Congratulations, Stephanie.
04:58You may leave the runway.
05:01Next.
05:01Next.
05:02Kim, who do you want to work with?
05:06Gabrielle.
05:08Next name.
05:10Adija K.
05:12I'm going to stick with Jasmine.
05:14Congratulations, Jasmine.
05:16There's only one name left in the bag.
05:19And that's you, Sunny.
05:20And we still have Ramada, Tori, and Ashley.
05:25The two models you don't choose will be out.
05:29Who do you want to work with?
05:32Who do you want to work with?
05:35You're all beautiful, but I'm going to stick with my girl, Tori.
05:39Congratulations.
05:40You may leave the runway.
05:45Sorry, girls.
05:46That means you're out.
05:46We're nearing the end of the competition, and soon three of you will face the toughest challenge of all, creating a collection to show at Toronto Fashion Week.
06:04The winner of today's challenge, however, will have the opportunity to show at New York Fashion Week.
06:14And work with one of the most influential people in the fashion world today.
06:21What?
06:25I hope I was a designer.
06:27So I started thinking of, like, New York designers, like DKNY, like Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein.
06:33Go to the workroom, and Brian is waiting to tell you more.
06:37Crazy.
06:38I'll see you in the runway.
06:40Bye.
06:46Hello, designers.
06:47In line said to you, you're going to meet somebody who is one of the most influential people in the fashion world today.
06:54Crazy town.
06:55She is one of the new generation of supermodels.
06:59She has worked every major runway in the world, from Balenciaga to Chanel.
07:04Oh.
07:05Your challenge, designers, is to dress Coco Rocha.
07:21Hello.
07:22Hello.
07:23When Coco Rocha walked into the room, I was like, whoa.
07:27She was gorgeous.
07:29Hello.
07:29Welcome.
07:31Coco is the IT model right now.
07:33She's on the cover of almost every magazine.
07:35And I was like, really?
07:37Coco Rocha's just standing right in front of us right now?
07:39Hello, designers.
07:40Hello.
07:41Hi.
07:42So, coming up is New York Fashion Week.
07:45I need something spectacular to wear for the red carpets in New York.
07:51Wow.
07:52Holy moly.
07:52The opportunity to show at New York Fashion Week is huge.
07:55And I'm going to fight for that.
07:57Definitely.
07:58Listen very closely to her personal style.
08:03I definitely need to look feminine.
08:06I like to turn my legs.
08:07I like my back.
08:08But nothing too revealing.
08:10And lately, I've been influenced by the Tudors, the Victorian, Elizabethan, even old glamour.
08:18Awesome.
08:19Sounds amazing.
08:19I love attention.
08:22And I want my outfit to stand out on that red carpet.
08:26I like your style.
08:27Thanks.
08:29The next time you see Coco will be on our runway.
08:35Have fun.
08:36Nice to meet you.
08:36Nice to meet you.
08:37Bye.
08:38This is an amazing opportunity to get my clothes on somebody in the fashion world.
08:44Designers, you will only have one day to make this outfit.
08:47So grab your things and let's go to Rockland Textiles.
08:54Designers, you have 30 minutes to shop, $200 to spend.
08:57So get busy.
09:06My bills are stiff.
09:10I think dressing a model is up my alley.
09:12So I'm just going to do, yeah, what I do best is design beautiful clothing.
09:18The judges seem to have a very specific something that they're looking for.
09:22And I'm not sure that, you know, that what I'm giving them is what they're looking for.
09:27But that doesn't mean I'm going to change what I do.
09:35I don't freaking know.
09:37This challenge isn't making me, like, think creatively.
09:40This is exciting.
09:43This is Coco Rocha.
09:45Come alive with it, you know?
09:48I'm not that excited because I thought we were meeting a designer.
09:52And I just feel like designers are way more influential.
09:55I want you to start having fun with the fabric.
09:59Okay, designers, you've got five minutes.
10:01You know what, let's make it six.
10:05You need to really pull it together.
10:10Can I get two more meters of that bone in, please?
10:14Time's up.
10:15Bye.
10:18Next, on Project Runway Canada.
10:20The bodice is really pretty.
10:22I don't know why Jessica is Brian's favorite pet.
10:26I just do not want the drama at all.
10:28No, I do not want that.
10:30Jessica's is pretty gross.
10:31Yeah.
10:32What?
10:43Big room.
10:45With five people in the workroom, everyone's very focused.
10:48This is the second-to-last challenge before the final three.
10:52We get to design something for Coco Rocha, Canadian supermodel.
10:55Wow.
10:56And it turns out that whoever wins, she's going to be wearing it to an event at New York Fashion Week.
11:00I don't want to stress myself out.
11:04So I'm just going to try and do something simple.
11:06I'm making a basic dress because I kind of design, like, crazy things and I always have to edit, like the judges said.
11:13I'm not going to try and argue with them.
11:16Stifle us.
11:18Stifled.
11:19I can't do anything crazy, so I have to do it calm.
11:22And if I do it calm, then it's, like, boring.
11:24So that's what the sour in me today.
11:30What is that stuff, Sonny?
11:33Trim?
11:34Yeah.
11:35Fuzzy stuff.
11:36I'm a little bit stressed out because I don't have an idea what I'm going to do.
11:40The pressure is on.
11:41The judges say they don't want to see another bustier.
11:44We have now seen that top from you at least twice before.
11:47You know it.
11:48Coco mentioned that she liked the whole Tudor's period, which is corsets, and I'm like, oh, s***.
11:56I grabbed a hot pair of stilettos at the winner's accessory wall, and I sort of found inspiration from that.
12:03Now I'm trying to work her Tudor theme into my design without doing a corset.
12:08I don't think I have enough fabric.
12:14I'm definitely taking some risks with this dress.
12:17Some of the basic rules, like, don't add volume around the hips.
12:23But I haven't won a challenge yet, and I feel like I've been sliding through somehow.
12:27So I'd love to have a winning design, especially now.
12:29How's it going, lady?
12:35Good.
12:36Yeah?
12:37You feel okay?
12:38I feel bad for Kim because I know she was really attached to Jason.
12:43They were really close, and wherever you found Kim, you found Jason.
12:46So I know that she's sad to see him go.
12:50It's going to be strange here without him.
12:54I know it's competition, and I know that I'm not here to, like, make a new best friend or anything.
12:59Like, I'm here to win $100,000 and, you know, showcase my designs and stuff.
13:05But, like, it really helps when you're, like, a good...
13:10I'm irritated that Jason's gone.
13:16I don't like it when I get irritable.
13:19Because when I get mean.
13:22When I knew he was going to go, it's just, like, insult to injury, I feel like, with the dress that won.
13:27I don't know, it's awesome.
13:29I do not agree that Jessica is a forerunner in the competition.
13:33She keeps winning with these garments that are, like, flukes.
13:36Especially this garden nightmare that she made out of post-it notes.
13:39She hasn't gone yet, and I don't really understand why.
13:42Sorry, Jessica, but that's just the way it is.
13:45Jessica, I haven't liked anything she's ever done in this competition.
13:54Oh, yeah.
13:55This is very high school, and, you know, the mean girls are ganging up.
13:59It just means that we're getting close to the final three.
14:02Hey, are you sewing your thing already?
14:09Mm-hmm.
14:10Wow.
14:12Everyone sort of counted me out in this competition.
14:14They thought, oh, what the hell?
14:16We didn't think she was going to still be here.
14:17We didn't think she was going to win.
14:19You know, I'm still here, and I'm just going to keep going as far as I can.
14:24My design was very tailored through the bodice, and a lot of fullness at the bottom.
14:29What the f**k?
14:32I saw Kim's muslin, and she's got some sort of, like, peaks volume thing happening on her skirt,
14:39and that's sort of what I had already sketched out.
14:43I don't want our dresses to look the same, and I don't want to have any,
14:46you copied me, business.
14:48Mm, no, I do not want that from Kim.
14:51So I'm just going to tweak mine so it doesn't look anything like that,
14:54because I just do not want the drama at all.
14:57Everything was a little too serious, so how do you do this laugh?
15:08It's Krusty the Clown.
15:10God, please stop.
15:14I have an extreme fear of clowns.
15:18Oh, God.
15:20Clowns scare me.
15:21I will cry like a small child.
15:23I don't like them.
15:26What the hell?
15:27It sounds funny.
15:29It's supposed to be your homegirl.
15:30It's supposed to be me.
15:39That's it.
15:41I love how you egged him on, too.
15:43Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho.
15:48Hello, designers.
15:49Jon-Viev.
15:50Hi, Ryan.
15:51Gorgeous color.
15:53Do you have shaping coming in here or not?
15:55Oh, yeah, there's the...
15:56They'll be darting?
15:57Well, no, it's going to be tighter.
15:58It's just because it's not sewn to anything yet.
15:59Oh, okay.
16:00So, no, it's like that, and there's the seam there.
16:02Oh, okay, right.
16:03It comes up into the neckline there.
16:05Clown to her neckline?
16:06Yeah, it makes for a really nice neck.
16:07I want the fullness, but I still want that really slick silhouette.
16:11And is it flat at the back, or are you having fullness at the back?
16:15No, I'm going to have...
16:15No, it has to be a little bit of fullness to have a balance.
16:18Keep it under control.
16:19I have...
16:19Look at how...
16:20No, no, I'm just saying to you...
16:21Yes.
16:23Thanks, Brian.
16:25Brian says every time I should try doing a different silhouette, which I feel I do.
16:29I think I'm one of the only ones that's really standing apart from what everyone else is doing.
16:33I was nervous for Jean-Bio that she was doing more draping in the similar silhouette to what she's been doing before.
16:41Like, show us what else you have.
16:44Jessica, the bodice is really, really pretty.
16:48Thanks.
16:49You're understanding the fabric, what it can do.
16:51I just wanted to have some fullness here through the hips, play off the whole Tudor sort of fitted bodice, full skirt.
16:56Careful where you're putting the fullness, okay?
16:59Okay.
17:01I'm looking forward to this one.
17:04I don't know why she's Brian's favorite pet.
17:08I feel like Jessica has been skimming by on the skin of her teeth.
17:13Hello, Kim.
17:15So I'm making this dress.
17:18Very nice.
17:19What would be the challenge of wearing a dress like this?
17:23Just the fullness in the skirt.
17:24I can't think of anybody that wants all this extra stuff in front of their tummy area.
17:28I don't think that problem happens with this dress because it tapers down at the knees and it's all tapered up through here.
17:34So it shows off her figure.
17:36Let's talk about your fit for a minute.
17:37That waist looks really high on that.
17:39In construction, it's better to be a little bit longer than higher.
17:43Well, let me tell you something.
17:44Say it for a reason.
17:44I already cut my fabric.
17:47And there's none left.
17:49Yeah, so this is what it looks like.
17:52Do not forget, this is Coco Rocha.
17:55Yes.
17:55This is a major event in New York.
17:58I'm just asking you to look at your proportion.
18:01Okay.
18:01It's really important.
18:02Okay.
18:04You had a jokey.
18:05Yes, Brian.
18:06That looks really beautiful.
18:07She said she liked clean lines, so I'm just making the top, like, pretty structured, and the bottom's going to be more of the drama.
18:13Can we talk about your silhouette and your shape?
18:16When you speak to me about the design, can I go, well, I'm just going kind of basic and whatever?
18:20I'm going basic because, like, I don't feel like she likes crazy stuff.
18:24So I don't want to do my normal style that's, like, lots of seams and, like, just, like, crazy stuff.
18:32So I'm just trying to, like, keep it simple.
18:35Are you enjoying this one?
18:36Not really.
18:37I find it interesting that a challenge like this could be, hmm, whatever.
18:41I have seen huge improvements from day one to now.
18:44It's, like, phenomenal.
18:45And what you're doing right now is equally as important as the day you started here and you won the first competition.
18:53Designers, you get until one o'clock tonight.
18:56Yes!
18:57Thank God.
18:58I'm deciding the length of this lip underneath my dress because that's the part that's going to cover up, you know, the goodies.
19:18So I made it short because Coco said she loves her legs and I thought, you know, let's show them off.
19:24What do you think is too short?
19:26Too short?
19:27I don't know.
19:27I mean, it's got good coverage on the outside.
19:29She's a model, so they wear skimpier things in what I'm doing.
19:34But I think it's cute.
19:35I feel the craziest during a challenge near the end.
19:50Because I go into, like, crazy town.
19:53Kim's almost done.
19:58How does it look?
19:59The points, I thought she was going to, like, put them down onto the body, but I think they're just chilling.
20:05Oh, really?
20:06Sticking out.
20:08Don't say anything.
20:10Oh, I'm not saying nothing.
20:15It's top five.
20:16Everyone is getting a little bit stressed with what they're doing.
20:19The pressure is on, and, like, it's just time to really buckle down a little bit.
20:34I think we're in good shape for tomorrow.
20:36Mm-hmm.
20:38And then just one more.
20:40Yep.
20:40And then, f***ing, bring it on.
20:44I deserve it.
20:45I see myself going to Fashion Week, Sunny I see going, and I'm hoping that Kim will come with us.
20:54Who do you think is going to go home tomorrow?
20:56Mm, I don't know.
20:57Who do you think?
21:00Adijoki.
21:01Depends, right?
21:02And maybe Adijoki can pull something cool off.
21:05Because Jessica's looks pretty good.
21:06Yeah.
21:07I feel like I just want Jessica and Adijoki to go home, just because, like, well, I think everyone should go home except for me.
21:17I just didn't think she'd be here this long while.
21:19Me either.
21:25Next, on Project Runway Canada.
21:28Jessica's dress looks like somebody vomited up some Tabata.
21:31Coco's the top model.
21:34I don't think she wants to run around in a costume.
21:37The zipper head just came off my zipper.
21:38Oh, my God.
21:39This is the box.
21:40Coco Rocha is the it girl right now.
22:02So if someone sees her in something that you've made, you're set.
22:06People are going to comment, that's going to be photographed to the max wherever she goes.
22:10And it's going to be at New York Fashion Week.
22:12It's a huge opportunity.
22:16Okay, moment of truth.
22:22I can't get it on.
22:26I've just noticed that my dress doesn't fit the duty.
22:30Do you think you could walk in this?
22:32Do you think it's open enough that a person could walk and be totally fine?
22:36I feel stressed just because if it doesn't fit the model, it's almost like reconstructing the dress all over again.
22:41Like if I have to take it out, I have to do all the seams, I have to do all the pressing all over again.
22:46Oh, f***.
22:51Hello, everybody.
22:52Hello, Brian.
22:54You have two hours until the runway show.
22:57You need to use the winner's accessory wall for whatever extras you need to make that outfit really beautiful.
23:05And take your models down to see Eddie and Eric in the L'Oreal Paris beauty room.
23:09So, why don't I send your models in?
23:13Morning, ladies.
23:14Hi.
23:15Hello, everybody.
23:15Hello, everybody.
23:16Hello, everybody.
23:16Hello, everybody.
23:17Congratulations.
23:19Can you try these shoes on, please?
23:22Yes.
23:23I took a pair of black strappy stiletto heels from the winner's accessory wall.
23:29They were the perfect shoes to go with my dress, and it totally made the whole thing come together,
23:33and I thought she looked fantastic.
23:35The challenge is to make something for Coco Rocha.
23:41That's who it is.
23:42Are you s***ing me?
23:43No, I'm serious.
23:44That's why I'm like, you'll be excited.
23:45Yeah.
23:46That's why I'm like, you'll be excited.
23:48Oh, my God.
23:50Ooh, looks sexy.
23:53I think the other designers might have taken Coco a little bit too literally.
23:58There's one thing to love, corsets and fall skirts and textured fabric,
24:03but she's the top model, and I don't think she wants to run around in a costume.
24:12It's pretty short.
24:13Oh, man.
24:14Did you know it was going to be that short?
24:15No.
24:15I thought it would be longer.
24:21Hmm.
24:21This set's bigger.
24:24Not sure why exactly.
24:26The dress didn't quite fit Gabrielle on the sides of the bust,
24:30which is where I tend to have most of my issues.
24:32So I ended up getting behind and trying to fix the dress.
24:37I just knew that I had a lot of work to do.
24:40I'm not going to have enough time to finish.
24:42I think so were into it.
24:44Yeah, I guess I will.
24:47Kim's just really struggling right now.
24:50She's not used to pattern drafting and doing things that are really tailored.
24:53She's used to doing draping.
24:54Still, I think that's why.
24:58I thought that Jessica's dress was hideous.
25:01I thought it was like a really bad bridesmaid dress.
25:07I think the skirt looked like somebody vomited up some taffeta and was like,
25:10and there's the skirt.
25:11Okay, this is where this is going.
25:17This line right here, right?
25:18Yeah.
25:19Are you just tacking this line?
25:20Yeah.
25:21Why?
25:21Because it looks nicer.
25:22It looks like it's wrapped around.
25:23Oh, that's good.
25:24Yes, it does.
25:27I was totally confident.
25:28100% confident in what I did.
25:31I'm a very insecure person in a lot of aspects.
25:33Pretty much every aspect of my life.
25:36But in design, no.
25:37No insecurities whatsoever.
25:41I've noticed that Jean-Veve does do a very similar silhouette every time.
25:45She really likes her draping.
25:47She really likes the flow.
25:48And, like, she does it great.
25:50But at the same time, the judges have said that she needs to change her silhouette.
25:54That she needs to try something different.
25:56If I see that silhouette one more time, I'm going to take you to test.
25:59Okay.
26:03Hi.
26:03This is my dress for today.
26:06So cool.
26:07So I was thinking sort of, like, not to make it too pretty pretty, to make it a little bit more roughed up.
26:12So why don't we really exaggerate this?
26:14And then all soft curls.
26:16Just maybe even tease them with our fingers.
26:18Oh, okay.
26:18So that gets a little bit of a frizzier effect.
26:20I like that.
26:21Maybe we'll put something a little bit shiny to have the same effect of the fabric.
26:25Same iridescence.
26:25Yeah.
26:26I like that.
26:27Eddie just did a really great job with the makeup.
26:29I wanted a light, smoky eye, and he just played it up with the colors.
26:32So they do a great job.
26:34I really love, like, working with them because they totally are on the same page.
26:37Hey.
26:38Good morning.
26:39Oh, wow.
26:40That's beautiful.
26:41I'm thinking something up, but high fashion, something dramatic.
26:45If we make this a little bit more compact and sort of pulled back, it'll accentuate the dress.
26:49It's like the flow of the dress even more.
26:51Eric gave her sort of high hair and sleek at the same time and just elongated Tori.
26:58All together, it was perfection.
27:01Okay, designers, you have 10 minutes.
27:0910 minutes until the runway.
27:11Oh, my God.
27:13What's the matter, Javier?
27:14The zipper head just came off my zipper.
27:17Ouch.
27:18Well, you have two minutes.
27:19I can get it back on.
27:20Oh, my God.
27:21It's not my fault.
27:22What are you going to do?
27:23I have no idea.
27:25You're going to thread a needle with ivory thread and whip stitcher into it, okay?
27:27Just relax.
27:29Come on.
27:29You've got no time to react like that.
27:31I don't even know where my thread is.
27:35The atmosphere is pretty panicked.
27:37Everyone's very focused, running around.
27:39It's the busiest I've seen anybody.
27:41Everybody really wants to do good on this one.
27:42It's a huge, huge, huge prize.
27:45It sucks.
27:47Okay, designers, time for the runway.
27:49Let's go.
27:50Let's go.
27:54Okay, let's go.
27:56Okay, let's go.
27:57Next, on Project Runway Canada.
28:06I love that dress.
28:08She had a little problem with walking.
28:11It starts to look cheap.
28:12This challenge was hard for me.
28:14You can't wear that during Fashion Week.
28:21Hello, designers.
28:23Hello.
28:23This challenge was all about the return of the supermodel.
28:30Kokorosha is one of the most exciting faces in fashion today.
28:35And your challenge was to create an outfit for her based on her personal style.
28:41She will wear the winning outfit to an event at New York Fashion Week.
28:45And as you know, supermodels have very high standards, which brings me to the judges.
28:52As always, we're joined by Sean Hewson, creative director of Bustle Clothing, Rita Sylvan, El Canada's editor-in-chief, and today's guest judge, elite model Coco Rocha.
29:07Canada's best.
29:08Now, remember designers, this is a fantastic opportunity to get your vision out there on the world stage.
29:19Good luck.
29:20Let's start the show.
29:21I had two hand-stitcher in, but I thought she looked so beautiful.
29:30The fabric was glowing and beautiful, and the lines in the back were amazing, and the shoulder seam.
29:38I was really proud of it and happy.
29:40As Tori was walking by, I sort of pictured Coco wearing the dress.
29:54The dress is made of light material, and I asked Tori to walk fast so it would flow.
30:00It totally had this movement of its own, and it was beautiful.
30:10I noticed that there was a little bit of trouble with the walk, but I felt really good about it.
30:14She looked great.
30:15She had the hair and the makeup the way I wanted it.
30:19The whole piece looked really nice on her.
30:32I know the skirt is, like, really, really short.
30:40I actually was proud that I finished.
30:43I didn't think it looked messy.
30:45I thought it looked good.
30:52The only thing that went wrong with my design is just the construction.
30:57I think the dress is beautiful, but the fit kind of was a little bit off.
31:01I could have used a little more time to fit it properly.
31:04Jessica, tell us about your design.
31:12She had mentioned that she liked the Tudors, the Elizabethan era,
31:15so I thought fitted bodice and a little bit of volume at the bottom.
31:19I just wanted to really give it a little bit of a sexy little detail at the back.
31:22I love the detail in the back.
31:24I love the fact that this waistline gives it a little curve,
31:27and I'm all about girls having curves and hips,
31:30and I like the fact that this does have shape.
31:33I'm liking it.
31:34The one problem with it, I noticed she had a little problem with walking.
31:39I, too, noticed that the model had a little trouble.
31:41It seems very...
31:42Okay, let's challenge it.
31:43If you keep your legs apart, so we'll see how much of a dress we have down there.
31:49Not much.
31:50No.
31:50I think it was too narrow for her to walk comfortably.
31:53Your detail work is quite extraordinary, and I love the fabric.
31:58Not my favorite silhouette, but it seems to be something that Coco likes, so points there.
32:02It's a beautiful color.
32:03It's a beautiful color.
32:04Sunny?
32:05She mentioned that she wanted something fabulous.
32:07I didn't want to do a little ruffle or a corset, which I'm known for.
32:13I stepped outside and created more of a flowy undergarment.
32:18I love that dress.
32:20It's so cheeky.
32:21I mean, I think it's so great.
32:23I would love to see Coco wearing that.
32:25The inner layer could be maybe a couple of inches longer.
32:30She's a supermodel.
32:32She can't take it.
32:33But again, like I said, I'd love to see Coco wear that.
32:35It's a gorgeous dress.
32:36It's very witty.
32:38Super, super sexy.
32:40But it was a little bit too much.
32:42Look at me.
32:42I'm over here.
32:43They're going to look at her anyway.
32:45I like the fact that you didn't play it too safe because, you know, you would expect someone
32:49to do high shoulders or ruffles, but that you did change it up.
32:54My biggest thing is it does show a little too much leg.
32:58Not going to lie.
33:00She's not risky, Coco, but I'm very risky.
33:03I would wear it.
33:07Have a jacket.
33:09I just decided to create something a little bit more tailored, something she can wear
33:13because we don't know what event she's going to.
33:16So it could be in the morning or the day or at night.
33:18I think that you, out of all of them, got the pretty much gist of what Victorian kind
33:25of looks like.
33:26Love the top part.
33:27It's gorgeous.
33:29And the color is nice.
33:30The material is nice.
33:31I do find that you didn't go far enough with some of the statements.
33:36Well, I was really battling, like, to represent myself, my style, and Coco's style.
33:40So I really had to pare down, like, what I usually do.
33:42So, like, this challenge was hard for me.
33:45I like this.
33:46It has almost sort of a boyish quality to it with the, you know, the buttons and bow tie.
33:52I do, however, think that it's too cute for her.
33:55I mean, we're talking about one of the world's top runway stormers, and you're putting her
33:59in this cute little thing.
34:00I don't know.
34:00You did good at streamlining.
34:05I'm so proud of you, Ade Jacquet.
34:07But I wish that you did not put that lace at the back.
34:10It's pointless.
34:12This was really a place you should have decided to edit.
34:17Geneviève.
34:17I wanted to do a really nice fitted bodice, and then sort of a more softer, draped bottom.
34:23She said she didn't want to show too much skin, so I kept it a little bit covered, but showing
34:28the back nicely.
34:30Well, Geneviève, this has your signature draping of the skirt, which is something you know how
34:36to do very well, but I don't think that I can picture Coco wearing it to a fashion event.
34:42It's a little demure.
34:44Yeah.
34:45I, I, yeah, I don't know what to tell you.
34:49I just don't see this as a red carpet standout, but I just don't think the fabrics are quite
34:54right.
34:54I think you can do so much more with a muse like Coco.
34:56It's a little safe.
34:58Yeah, I thought she'd be beautiful in it.
35:00She'd be beautiful in everything, but I think she can do more than that.
35:03It's actually a little heavy on the bottom.
35:06That would probably be my biggest thing.
35:09I don't mind draperies if, as long as it's draped the correct way.
35:16Now, Kim.
35:18I took the inspiration of Coco and the Elizabethan period.
35:22I just wanted to keep it tailored and in volume, but in a new kind of interesting way.
35:26I don't understand if it's supposed to be tight around her or if it is supposed to be loose
35:32like that, doesn't know quite what it wants to do yet.
35:34I think this is a dress that would probably not photograph very well because of the silhouette.
35:40It is just, it's just sort of clumsy looking.
35:43And then you have this beautiful, rich fabric, but because the fit is not as good as it should
35:48be, it starts to look cheap.
35:52Fashion week?
35:53I don't know.
35:53Thank you, designers.
35:57You may leave the runway while we decide who's in and who just doesn't measure up.
36:05Let's start with Sonny.
36:07I thought he really, really got the Victorian mood in that dress, but in a really modern
36:12way.
36:12I love the fact that it was very romantic.
36:15It was very flowing.
36:17It had an edge, but the romanticism too.
36:19Exactly.
36:19It was very edgy for being modern.
36:21The only thing I had was just that.
36:25That's a really high heel.
36:27It was hot, but you don't want this either, the whole red carpet where you're going to
36:30see every picture of me doing this.
36:35Jessica, that's a beautiful color.
36:37You do see that silhouette a lot.
36:39She was talking about the waistline and the hips.
36:42I like that.
36:43I like the fact that it has that waist hip, but I think she could have even done it more.
36:47It's like what I always say, you want to go there, commit.
36:50Do it all the way.
36:53At the jacket.
36:55She was the one that at least out of all of them kind of got a period.
36:59She didn't need to explain it.
37:00We saw exactly what we were talking about.
37:03The color would look great on you and I like some aspects of it, but the tailoring wasn't
37:08very sharp.
37:09I did like what she said about wearing it during the day.
37:12I mean, you have shows.
37:13If you're going to fashion week, I'm sorry, you can't wear that during fashion week.
37:18No, you can't.
37:19Anyhow, you could be going up.
37:21Do you know they have photographers backstage and say what the models are wearing now before
37:25they go on the runway?
37:27Yes.
37:27No, you've got to be very careful.
37:28We don't, you don't just put something together.
37:33Genevieve.
37:34She does a beautiful draped skirt.
37:37Over and over again.
37:38Yeah.
37:39Over and over again.
37:40I mean, that's obviously something she does very well and not really too inclined to deviate
37:46from that.
37:46I don't think for this challenge it was the right choice.
37:49You wanted something that's going to stand out on the red carpet.
37:50That is not it.
37:52Exactly.
37:52And I'm not one for bunching.
37:55It was just placed there.
37:57It didn't seem like it had any real meaning, purpose.
37:59It just was like, I got to do it.
38:01Let's just put it here.
38:02But isn't it, did they find it a little bit too old for you?
38:05I almost thought of it almost as going to my graduation.
38:09When mom bought you something that you have to wear.
38:12Oh, we're getting really down.
38:13It's not Fashion Week, sorry.
38:18Kim.
38:19The construction was not good.
38:21I mean, her technical skills are not really that strong.
38:24And so it ended up looking very droopy.
38:25I found that because the fabric was used in everything, that it just didn't seem right.
38:31It looked a little bulky.
38:32It was weighing down the silk.
38:34And it would not read well in a photograph.
38:39We have made a decision.
38:40Let's bring them in.
38:46Today, one person will win this challenge.
38:49And we'll have the opportunity to see their design on the lovely Coco Rocha at a New York Fashion Week event.
39:09But one designer will be out.
39:15The winner of this challenge is...
39:20Sonny.
39:23Your design had a lot of wow on the runway.
39:33It will be a stand-up for Coco to wear on a red carpet.
39:36Congratulations, Sonny.
39:37You may leave the runway.
39:39I think I keep winning because I really concentrate on what the challenges are asking for.
39:51That's what I've been doing per challenge and it's worked for me.
39:55Jessica, your design was safe.
40:02And so are you.
40:04You may leave the runway.
40:05Other Jackie.
40:16You're safe.
40:18You can leave the runway.
40:20I was down to you, Kim, and Jean-Vievre.
40:46Jean-Vievre, you had a very strong designer.
40:50But we've seen the same silhouette over and over from you.
40:55You were given an opportunity to dress this beautiful, unique woman.
41:00And we feel you just repeated your old design.
41:05Kim.
41:07Now, this was a challenge for a red carpet dress.
41:10The messy execution has robbed your dress of a place in the spotlight.
41:18Jean-Vievre.
41:20I'm sorry, but you just didn't measure up.
41:28Kim, you may leave the runway.
41:32Bye.
41:35See you.
41:36Bye.
41:42Good luck.
41:44Bye.
41:44Thanks.
41:45Diversify.
41:46Try.
41:47You never know.
41:48Oh, I have.
41:49Thanks.
41:49Bye.
41:56Bye, baby.
41:58Bye.
41:59Well, I'm really proud of everything I did.
42:00I rocked it.
42:02I made some amazing friendships.
42:04Bye.
42:04Bye.
42:05Bye.
42:07You're awesome, okay?
42:09They thought I was doing the same thing again and again, but I didn't think that.
42:13Thanks so much for everything, Brian.
42:14You know, you're a fabulous designer.
42:17You've got it in your head, so go and do it.
42:19I will.
42:20Okay.
42:20Thanks, Brian.
42:21You're welcome.
42:22Okay.
42:22See ya.
42:23Bye-bye.
42:23Bye-bye.
42:24Bye.
42:25Bye.
42:25My work is amazing, and this doesn't have any effect on how I feel about what I do.
42:32This is a great way to get back at my dream and my vision and go at it full force when
42:37I get home.
42:42We are at the after party of Zach Rosen's show, and I am wearing the dress.
42:49It's totally exciting to have a supermodel wear my dress.
42:52She's got the great body for it, so it's perfect.
43:09This global preview is brought to you in part by Leon's incredible 100th birthday bash.
43:14On the next Project Runway Canada.
43:17There will be one more team competing.
43:19The final four are in for the shock of their lives.
43:21I'm back.
43:22I'm back.
43:23Somebody shoot me.
43:24It's a second chance for the top prize.
43:26We deserve to be here.
43:28Emotions boil over.
43:29Super lame.
43:30I'm so over it.
43:31I hate it.
43:32And resentment builds.
43:33I can't believe how angry I am.
43:35Did you think your model was about to choke because her collar was too tight?
43:38Project Runway Canada.
43:39New episode next Tuesday at 10, 9 central on Global.
43:42It's fashion with attitude.
