00:00Trinbego Knight Riders have four CPL titles with the last one coming in 2020 when they
00:07beat St. Lucia Zoox. TKR assistant coach Otis Gibson is fully aware of the situation and
00:12says his players are capable of making it number five this year.
00:15Look it's been a long time obviously, last time was 2020 I believe so you know five years
00:21without a title for the history that we have as a franchise. The players that we have in
00:28the group at the moment and we feel that we've got a legitimate claim this year to say that
00:32we could be one of the title contenders but of course we still have to go and play some
00:36really good cricket. TKR made a good start to the tournament with a win in the opener against
00:41St. Gibson Nevis Patriots. Gibson has been pleased with his team's preparations going into the
00:45CPL. Yes we had a really good camp in Trinidad before we went up to St. Gibson last week.
00:52Everybody came in you know we did a lot of really good work a lot of specific stuff for
00:57game plans and identifying roles and responsibilities for the players and then we went up to St.
01:04Case we had a good showing. Colin Monroe got a fantastic hand drill that set us off on the right foot.
01:11Dwayne Bravo played his final CPL season last year and now he's TKR's head coach. Gibson says the
01:19former West Indies all-rounder has the credentials to take the team forward.
01:22Yeah well he's never been short of confidence as he's doing you know so he's trying to instill that
01:27confidence in the team a real trust in the players give the players the freedom to go and express
01:34themselves you know he's all what I call a maverick streak in him and he encourages people to go and be
01:42that be that way you know the best version of themselves. He's full of life always full of ideas.
01:51TKR next play Antigua and Barbuda Falcons on Wednesday in Antigua Vinodna.
01:56I want to know how many teams export.
