00:00St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots beat Barbados Royals by 12 runs in a thriller at Warner Park on Thursday night.
00:06In so doing, the Patriots made it two wins from five matches played thus far,
00:10and Captain Jason Holder lauded his troops for making it happen.
00:14Just the character and the boys, man. We were up against it. Obviously, we had a tough loss in the last game.
00:19We came pretty close against Trinidad, so it's hard sometimes to try to keep the morale of the team going.
00:25But the boys were excellent. Just taking the way we fought through this entire game.
00:27Obviously, we weren't really in the game with a heavy total, but we just knew that we had runs on the board and we could have defended them.
00:33Holder received the Man of the Match award for his 38th and four wickets.
00:37And how high does this victory stand in his career?
00:40I think this is a special one, just being a new franchise for me and just personally coming to add to the cause.
00:46Getting the team over the line today speaks volume for my character as well, too.
00:49So I'm really happy with the way I'm going at the minute.
00:52Hopefully, we can go on and get in the game against Antigua and win that next one.
00:54The Royals were set a target of 175 from 20 overs to win the match.
00:59Instead, they were all out for 162 and their skipper, Ravman Powell, was unhappy with the approach of the batters.
01:05Yeah, it's disappointing. Disappointing to see we have a game like this and throw it away.
01:10You know, I think through the middle overs, we didn't bat it as though we wanted to.
01:14It was basically six or out.
01:16And we started by saying that someone within the top five, top four have to bat majority of the overs.
01:22You know, it's a good wicket. It's a wicket that you have to get yourself out on, to be honest.
01:26And to see we didn't bat us all we want, you know, hopefully the next time we can.
01:32With two losses in a row, the Barbados Royals are last on the six-team table,
01:37while the St. Kitts and Meebus Patriots have jumped to second position.
01:41Vinod Nawarni, Teefs Expoort.
