00:00Trinbigo Knight Riders defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by six wickets in
00:04Saturday's CPL clash in Teruba to extend their lead at the top. Captain
00:08Nicholas Puran was pleased that TKR were able to make it three wins in a row
00:12during the Trinidad leg at the Brian Lauer Cricket Academy.
00:15I mean when you walk into the stadium you just want to perform for your fans.
00:19We walk in today and we see a sea full of red and that was really really nice to see.
00:23Something about Brian Lauer it's really special for this TKR team.
00:28I think this is 21 games now we have won out of 25. So again long may that live.
00:33TKR was set 164 to win and were cruising along at 116 for no loss.
00:39But that soon became 117 for three and then 137 for four before crossing the line.
00:46Puran was grateful for the victory and commended his players.
00:50I'm not searching for perfection at all. We had a chance to probably win the game
00:53in a couple overs there we lost a couple wickets but that's fine.
00:56Most important thing is that two points and we're really happy that you know the way we bowl first
01:01of the weekend and then the batsmen Alex Hayes and Monas come and do their thing and
01:05obviously Jira's getting a hit there and Paulie in the end. So we're really happy for those two points.
01:10The Amazon Warriors now have two wins and two losses from four matches.
01:14Next up for them are the Barbados Royals and Guyana captain Imran Tahir is remaining optimistic.
01:20Yeah look to be honest with you last year we also win three games away and then when we home
01:27obviously we played really well. So we're not taking anything for granted. I said that many times
01:33before every opportunity is a great opportunity especially guy like me and I'm very honoured
01:39Guyana has obviously given me opportunity really looking forward for for the Barbados game and hopefully
01:44that we gave them a good fight. Guyana are fourth on the standings while Barbados are last with three
01:50losses and one no result. Winner Nalwani, TVSport.
