00:01Defending champions St Lucia Kings won a nail biter against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Tuesday at Warner Park.
00:07Chasing 201 to win, the Patriots lost by three runs, with Kings captain David Wieser restricting the opposition in the final over of the match.
00:15Yeah, I think in that situation, you know, if you're 13 is kind of, you know, even contest at that stage.
00:20But, you know, once the first ball went for six, you're kind of in a, you know, you want to say you've got nothing to lose now
00:25because the game's definitely in their favour.
00:27Once at a time, you know, stick to what we spoke about in our analysis, you know, speak about, you know, what we want to do at the death
00:33and, you know, the game plan against those two specific batters and not change anything.
00:36Even if it's, you know, if it's working, stick to it.
00:38And fortunately for me, I managed to nail a couple of wide Yorkers in the end.
00:41And yeah, Timmy took a great catch there on the boundary to seal it for us.
00:45The Patriots now have one win and three losses from four games and are fifth among the six teams.
00:50However, team captain Jason Holder is taking the positives following the defeat.
00:55Pro to the guys, man. Pro to the way we fought.
00:57I think at one stage of the game, you know, we all felt, some people probably felt we were out of the game, you know,
01:02but credit to the way the boys fought right down to the last ball.
01:04Unfortunately, somebody had to lose, you know, we came up a little short tonight, but still a lot of positives to take from this game.
01:09Besides Holder's 63, Navin Bedesi scored 50 of 36 balls on debut for the Patriots.
01:15According to Holder, it was a good display from the all-rounder from Biche in Trinidad.
01:20For a guy coming into his first game, you know, and playing the way he did, you know, obviously it was a little slow to start,
01:24but he kept his nerve, he kept his composure, and he got into his knees quite nicely.
01:27Even with the ball, you know, the one-overing ball, I thought it showed a lot of heart, you know.
01:31Unfortunately, he didn't get another over, but, you know, looking at his performance, you know, particularly, I was very, very pleased for him.
01:36St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will be in action again on Thursday, taking on Barbados Royals at Warner Park.
01:42Vinod Nowani, Chiefs Export.
