00:00Cricket commentator Reds Pereira is expecting some changes to be made to the Windies line-up
00:05before their clash against Zimbabwe on Monday.
00:07He thinks that this will strengthen the team.
00:09Well, from the team that played in the last game against Italy,
00:15and the West Indies didn't play all that well prior to going into the Super 8,
00:19it seemed to be out of sorts.
00:23I will certainly be leaving out Powell.
00:25I will be keeping Matthew Ford, and in place of Powell, I'm bringing back Shepard,
00:31who was out for a niggle.
00:33So just one change, Matthew Ford will stay, Powell will go,
00:38and Shepard will come back after a bit of a niggle.
00:43That's a team on form.
00:46He believes the Windies need to be at the top of their game if they are to progress further.
00:50He also thinks Brandon King needs to find some form at the top
00:53to give the Windies bowlers a chance of defending a good total.
00:57I think if we look at the Westernies' performance,
01:00their best game was, in fact, against England.
01:03That was a must-win game, and they did.
01:06But we also must look at Zimbabwe,
01:09who were the giant killers by beating Australia.
01:13And in doing that, they did the Westernies a small favour.
01:17I think originally this would have been a tougher group
01:21if the ICC had accommodated Bangladesh.
01:24They did not, and Scotland came in and weakened the group.
01:29But all is in the past.
01:31The Westernies are contenders.
01:33They must believe that.
01:34They must play at a higher level as we enter into the final eight.
01:40And the basics, the fundamentals, to repeat it consistently
01:44in every department is very, very key.
01:48King has got to give runs at a top with hope,
01:51and here's hoping that the batting can put 200-plus on the ball
01:55and give the ballers a chance.
01:58So it's ready for TVS Expo.
