Former international cricketer now coach Rayad Emrit, believes West Indies have the edge going into the two-match series against Pakistan in Trinidad starting this weekend.

He says the recent win against Sri Lanka should boost their confidence against Barbar Azam's men.
Transcript
00:00The West Indies play the first test against Pakistan at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy with the game bowling off
00:05on Saturday.
00:07The two teams then meet in the second and final test from August 2nd to the 6th at the Queen's
00:10Park Oval.
00:11According to former international cricketer Riyad Emrit, the Windies have the edge against the Pakistanis.
00:17Given the showing against Sri Lanka, we know Pakistan is obviously a different opponent,
00:21but I think they bring that confidence from the series against Sri Lanka.
00:25They play really well in both test matches, so I think they're on a high now.
00:31The guys have done really, really well in Antigua.
00:33It's different conditions in Shunadad. I think it's going to be a lot flatter in Shunadad.
00:38And the bowlers will obviously have a lot on their plate.
00:42Having said that, Emrit feels the West Indies Pacers have plenty to offer in the Red Balls series against the
00:48men from the subcontinent.
00:49After all, they were the ones to wreak havoc against Sri Lanka, which saw the men in Maroon winning the
00:54two-game series 1-0.
00:56We have really, really good seamers. We have quality seamers.
00:59I'm notwithstanding the spinners that we have, but I think our strength is our seamers.
01:04I know the seamers will be looking for some grass on the pitch, but I think the spinners will come
01:11into play at some point in time.
01:13Whoever bowls best with their spinners, I think, will have the better result.
01:18But I still think it's going to be batter-friendly and hopefully our batters can come alive.
01:23The West Indies have a chance of winning back-to-back series in the new World Test Championship cycle.
01:28So what message does Emrit have for the home team?
01:32They have done really well against Sri Lanka.
01:35You know, they've won the series. It's been a while we have won the series and they have done that.
01:39And they've been doing some really, really good things and they just sort of have to continue.
01:42I know they're going to take that series with a lot of confidence coming into the series and they're going
01:46to be on a high.
01:47So, you know, I just want them to continue doing the good things consistently.
01:51The new WTC cycle has so far seen the Wendy's losing series to Australia, India and New Zealand
01:57before picking up their first win against Sri Lanka.
