00:00Thanks, Nisha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. I hope today was a great day and now I have your weather right here for you.
00:08We're starting off with what's happening. According to RQ Weather, Tropical Storm Erin is forecast to rapidly strengthen into a hurricane this weekend as it nears the northeastern Caribbean and Bahamas, raising concerns for strong winds, heavy rain and dangerous surf along the islands.
00:25There is a chance that Erin could lose some wind intensity and organization over the next 24 to 48 hours, but it is likely to only be temporary. We will keep you updated when we have more information.
00:39So, while airing might not be a concern to us right now, the Saharan dust is. There is a high concentration of Saharan dust in the atmosphere. Concentration is expected to remain high until Wednesday afternoon, after which it will be mostly mild to moderate.
00:56Persons sensitive to these conditions, please take the necessary precautions. That is, wear your mask and stay indoors as much as possible.
01:04Now, looking at conditions in Portisbane presently, TV6's Weather Center says, downtown is mostly clear with temperatures at 31 degrees Celsius.
01:14We have winds coming east, northeast at 3 knots and humidity at 73%.
01:19Moving on to conditions tonight, tonight will be generally fair with a chance for some moderate showers, likely over Tobago and northeast, southeast and southwest Trinidad.
01:31Minimum temperatures in Trinidad are 24 degrees Celsius and Tobago will experience 25 degrees.
01:39Now, let's see what we are getting tomorrow. Tomorrow's sunshine will be interrupted at times by partly cloudy periods with light to moderate showers in varying areas.
01:48There is a low chance for an isolated heavy shower to favor Trinidad during late morning or afternoon.
01:55Remember, as I mentioned earlier, Saharan dust will be present in the atmosphere.
01:58Maximum temperatures are 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago.
02:05Heading over to our two-day forecast, Thursday and Friday will be the same, with both days starting off generally fair at first, becoming party cloudy over Tobago and cloudy over Trinidad from late morning to afternoon.
02:19They will both have light to moderate showers and a medium chance for isolated heavy showers or thunderstorms over Trinidad.
02:26Maximum temperatures are 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago on Thursday and on Friday.
02:34Who's heading to the beach tomorrow?
02:36Well, your seas are moderate with waves 2 meters in open waters and 1 meter in sheltered areas.
02:43Now, for your sun time, sunrise is at 5.56 in Trinidad and it will set at 6.25.
02:49Over in Tobago, sunrise is at 5.52 and it will set at 6.23.
02:55That's, and now I have your tie times right here for you.
03:13That's all for tonight, but stay right where you are because there's more news after the break.
