00:00Thank you, Nisha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. I'm Rochelle Edwards with your weather.
00:06While some areas got hot sun today, other areas were given heavy rain.
00:11Here's what happened today.
00:13Isolated heavy to violent orographic rainfall affected parts of north-central Trinidad,
00:19with some areas in St. Augustine and Tunapuna experiencing street flooding.
00:24This activity was linked to daytime heating and localized orographic effects.
00:30Commonly triggered by light, low-level winds from the east-northeast.
00:34Moving on to conditions in Port of Spain, presently, TV6's Weather Center is telling us
00:39that it's partly cloudy with temperatures at 28 degrees Celsius.
00:43We also have winds coming southeast at a speed of 6 knots.
00:47We also have 80% humidity in the atmosphere.
00:50Now, looking at conditions tonight, tonight will be mostly fair despite a few isolated showers.
00:56We also have a low thunderstorm activity coming in.
00:59Minimum temperatures are 24 degrees in Trinidad and 25 over in Tobago.
01:05Now, you're probably wondering what's in store for tomorrow.
01:08Well, the Met Office says tomorrow will be generally hot and sunny apart from a few isolated shower-y spells.
01:15Now, there is also a low chance of thunderstorm activity favouring western and hilly areas of Trinidad during the afternoon.
01:23Now, maximum temperatures are 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago.
01:29Now, there's also a mild concentration of Saharan dust in the atmosphere.
01:33So, a person sensitive to these conditions should take the necessary precautions.
01:39Now, let's take a look at our two-day forecast.
01:42Thursday is looking hot and sunny despite a few isolated showers.
01:46During the afternoon, there's a low chance of some thunderstorm activity favouring western Trinidad.
01:51And the sunny skies will continue on Friday.
01:55Conditions are looking mostly sunny despite a few party cloudy interruptions with isolated showers again mainly in western areas.
02:04Maximum temperatures are 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago on both Thursday and Friday.
02:10Now, although we're in for a mostly hot week, my advice, still walk with those umbrellas or a hat or anything that will give you that extra protection from the direct sunlight.
02:21So, tomorrow is going to be hot and the sun will be out.
02:24So, if you're looking to take a dip at the beach, seas are moderate with waves up to 1.5 meters in open waters and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.
02:33Now, for your sun times, sunrise is at 5.54 in Trinidad and it will set at 6.30.
02:39Over in Tobago, however, sunrise is at 5.50 and it will set at 6.27.
02:46For any boating activities tomorrow, here are your tide time.
