Heritage Petroleum Limited has intensified its efforts to bring closure to the fate of the one worker who went missing after last Sunday collapse of an off-shore oil rig being operated by Well Services Limited. Juhel Browne has that story
00:00State-owned Heritage Petroleum Company Limited said on Saturday that it continues to provide support to World Services Petroleum Company Limited in the search and recovery efforts for Pete Phillip, who has been missing since the Rig 110 offshore incident on Sunday.
00:17Mr. Phillip is a World Services employee and Heritage has confirmed that Rig 110 was working in its offshore acreage.
00:26On Saturday, Heritage said the search for the recovery of Mr. Phillip is ongoing and explained,
00:32Priority areas continue to be identified for more intense scrutiny.
00:37Visual surveys are ongoing using drones, drop cameras, and remotely operated vehicles.
00:44These efforts are supported by several vessels, lift baskets, and other resources."
00:51The Occupational Safety and Health Authority has said that the preliminary findings of its investigations are that 75 workers were on Rig 110 in the East Soldado Field where drilling activities were being conducted when the collapse of a derrick on the rig occurred.
01:07OSHA said an employee of Tucker Energy Services Limited, who was not identified by name, sustained the injury.
01:14As for the search for Mr. Phillip, Heritage said on Saturday that the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries has maintained a constant presence at the Marine Base, which is located in Point 14, in support of the operation and key stakeholders are receiving regular updates.
