The transfer of Tobago's two top Cops Assistant Commissioner Collis Hazel and Senior Superintendent Rodhill Kirk has nothing to do with the spiraling crime wave in Tobago. This from ACP Hazel who spoke with TV6'S Elizabeth Williams.
However Chief Secretary Farley Augustine tells TV6 News he welcomes the transfers, More in this report.

00:00If I am realigned as is proposed, I will continue to work assiduously towards the fight against
00:11crime and criminality in Trinidad and Tobago.
00:14I want to make it abundantly clear that we are not the problem.
00:24I would think that my transfer has nothing to do with no escalation of crime on the island.
00:49Crime is all over Trinidad and Tobago at this point in time.
01:00The transfers are to realign officers in places based on the idea that we have just promoted
01:10other senior officers and therefore we have to be utilized best according to the leadership
01:17at this point in time.
01:19Officer Hazel hopes to one day become this country's Commissioner of Police.
01:25I want you to look at it in this way, Elizabeth.
01:30I am the most senior Assistant Commissioner of Police in the Trinidad and Tobago Police
01:35Service and I also have intention that one day I will sit in the chair as Commissioner
01:47of Police of this country.
01:48Hazel said the fight against crime must go on.
01:53The problem is the crime and the criminals outside there who are harassing, causing fear
02:04and panic to citizens and therefore there is a clarion call for us to continue to unite
02:13and to work with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
02:16He is encouraging citizens to work along with the police in the fight against criminality.
02:22Chief Secretary Farley Agustin said the transfers were timely and will go well for Tobago's
02:29war on crime.
02:30He revealed that when the National Security Council met in Tobago on July 9th, a decision
02:36was taken to begin moving around members of the TTPS in order to, quote, remove the curse
02:43of complacency and in Tobago's case specifically, to eradicate the contempt bred by familiarity.
02:52This is just that decision materializing after two months, end quote.
02:58The Chief Secretary expressed gratitude to Officers Hazel and Cook for their tireless
03:04efforts in the fight against crime in Tobago and wished them success on their future endeavors,
03:11He said Mr. Hazel's new posting as head of the TTPS's tactical unit means he will continue
03:18to have a crucial role to play in the country's war against crime.
