00:00 It is really a policy of the PNM to ensure that we remain grounded and in touch with the people even while in opposition.
00:06 I was just about to ask you, what do you think about the PNM's chances?
00:10 I know next year will be the rally for East and West.
00:14 Do you think the PNM has a chance of regaining?
00:18 The PNM is always ready.
00:20 The PNM, as you always say, is a very organised, disciplined and powerful organisation.
00:27 PNM Tobago Council political leader Ansel Dennis drew a walkabout in the village of Mount St George, Tobago.
00:34 Mr Dennis said the PNM is ready for any and every election.
00:39 We are prepared and we are ready for any election and we look forward to the future elections.
00:44 We look forward to both the general election and the Tobago House of Assembly election
00:49 because based on what I have been hearing during these interactions with Tobago Unions,
00:54 people are having a very difficult and challenging time
00:59 and that is directly related to the policies of the current Tobago House of Assembly
01:05 and Tobago Unions generally are having buyers remorse.
01:08 But what are the people on the ground saying?
01:11 TV6 spoke with some residents on their views about the PNM's walkabout
01:17 in a district represented by THA Assistant Secretary Maetan Morrison.
01:23 I said boy, step back and see where this thing is going.
01:27 And I see where it went.
01:28 But I say today I could tell anybody the PNM will be stronger than ever.
01:34 The only party that has a real constitution is the only party that will care about everybody.
01:38 I don't want to cry because I realise people don't understand values.
01:42 What do you think about the PNM?
01:43 Great, great. You see the party coming back and you see that everything will be back, everybody back on board. Great.
01:50 What do you think about what's happening now in Tobago?
01:53 What's happening in Tobago? Well, I could see what's happening in Tobago and so on.
01:57 You know, everything they have a test run and so on.
02:00 I can't say they feel completely, but they are not together.
02:04 They seem, they just come and flash in to see them together. They are not together.
02:08 How do you feel about the PNM's chances in Mount St George? They are holding a walkabout today.
02:12 Nil, nil. They cannot do nothing here, nothing.
02:16 Mount St George people not stupid.
02:18 All these years, the young people, they are suffering for work.
02:21 If you were not wearing red jaws, you could not get a CPAP, neither a URP work.
02:25 Now, finally, trying the best, giving, with whatever little money you can get in, ten on, ten off.
02:29 Some of them get permanent, some have to take their time and wait.
02:32 What are we going to put back these people here for? For what?
02:36 This is not a stronghold of PNM. We don't want them here.
02:39 We don't want them here. They can walk all they want.
02:42 Whosoever they intend to send back will be getting a beating.
02:45 How do you feel about the PNM's walkabout today?
02:48 I find it's a good thing they are doing because you are supposed to keep acquainted with the people around the community.
02:54 Because, as you know, if you are not moving about and thinking it is hard,
02:59 people are wrong because they say, well, you are not so, they are supporting you,
03:03 and they don't come to hear the concern.
03:05 So it's a very good thing they are doing, and I'm glad how I see them walking about today
03:09 and keep in touch with the people around so they know what they want.
03:12 PNM Tobago Council Political Leader Ansel Dennis told TV6 News visits to communities twice monthly would continue.
