00:00What do you think is lacking right now in Tobago, east and west, that the Patriotic Front can address?
00:07Well, Tobago seems to not have been progressing very much and they just need to be on the ground and speak to the people.
00:14And they feel themselves not much is happening. They don't feel that their lives have been improved.
00:20That is the purpose of politics, first and foremost.
00:23The cost of living is definitely affecting the people of Tobago
00:28because if you are on the ground, as we have been,
00:31many people have to have two and three jobs to just be able to make ends meet.
00:37The list of candidates include
00:59Kumuto Manzanilla, Elizabeth Wharton, Togo Sandigrandi.
01:03Ms. Pandey said more work needs to be done in Tobago.
01:07On a personal and individual citizen to party level, there is much that can be done that is not being done.
01:15And then, of course, on the economic level, it still bewilders me
01:22why Tobago is not the top tourist destination in the Caribbean.
01:28Issues like the environment, I've heard raised many, many times, yet nothing has actually been done about it.
01:37Pandey said the Tobago east seat would be revealed soon.
01:42We are seeing a lot more people dying from heart failure and strokes.
01:49And believe it or not, there are a lot of amputations because diabetes has increased,
01:53because people aren't able to feed themselves and eat in a healthy way.
01:58So there are a number of things going on there that needs addressing urgently.
02:02And the Patriotic Fund can do that through Ms. Aretha Clark and, of course,
02:08the other candidates which we are screening and will be announced.
02:12She said the time for real leadership is now.
