00:00We have made opposition clear that there is no need to restart the process but
00:06there is a need to amend the bills before Parliament to ensure that they
00:11reflect what Tobogonians actually say that they want.
00:16Chief Secretary Farley Augustine told TV6 News the PNM is behaving true to
00:21form in a dictatorship manner and he intends to correspond with Prime
00:26Minister Dr. Keith Rowley and other members of Parliament on the Tobago
00:30autonomy issue.
00:56And this technical team is prepared to sit and go through the Tobago position with all members of the Parliament.
01:08Mr. Augustine said the letter to members of Parliament is nothing new as
01:13previous documents were sent.
01:16Let me also remind everyone that I sent documents to
01:23every single member of Parliament on the government side, opposition side and
01:29the independent bench and those documents contain reminders of what
01:36Tobogonians through the Orville bills actually sent down to the Parliament and
01:44also it reminds quite clearly of what the Tobago position has always been on
01:51the matter of autonomy.
01:53Despite documents previously sent to members of Parliament,
01:57Augustine said he remains willing to sit at the table again.
02:01We are willing to have those conversations now with all members of Parliament not just the opposition because this
02:11matter is not one for the UNC, it's not one for the PNM but it is one for the
02:17entire Parliament to fix a historical injustice.
