00:00TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP REQUIRES THAT YOU HAVE TO DO SOME MESSY WORK AND A LOT OF
00:04MESSY CLEANING UP, AND I'M HAPPY THAT WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THAT DONE.
00:10IF WE ARE TO RATE THE GOVERNMENT'S PERFORMANCE, WE ARE SOMEWHERE AT A SEVEN OUT OF TEN.
00:17BUT BEING THE KIND OF PERFECTIONIST I AM, I WANT TO PUSH IN THIS LAST YEAR TO GET IT
00:23CLOSER TO TEN.
00:25Mr. Agustin said the TPP, previously under the PDP, has stabilized the Tobago economy,
00:32while cleaning up the mess which he alleged the PNM left.
00:36Across the three years, we have demonstrated an ability to remain stable, even in the presence
00:43of what might appear to be chaos.
00:46Although we had several hiccups, although we had several challenges, I feel like we
00:51have a very stable government that was able to stabilize the Tobago economy post-COVID,
00:58and also a government that has spent a considerable amount of resources cleaning up the mess.
01:04Agustin said at this juncture, he believes the TPP's performance has been by far better
01:12than the previous PNM administration.
01:14We definitely are doing better than those we replaced, but we are not even considering
01:20those we replaced.
01:21We are looking around the region and around the world, and positioning and lining up Tobago
01:25against other jurisdictions, and asking ourselves, how much better can we do with the limited
01:30resources we have to ensure that Tobago can compete with the rest of the world?
01:35Agustin added he remains confident the TPP can capture the two Tobago seats from the
01:41PNM as the party walks behind, putting God in front.
