00:00Rain is returning to parts of the South Central U.S.
00:02We had a weak disturbance roll through Oklahoma yesterday.
00:06It was just enough to bring some hail and rain.
00:09Obviously the rain falling, but even some pea-sized hail there falling in Edmond, Oklahoma.
00:14This is the same disturbance that brought us some snow Wednesday night into the Colorado Rockies.
00:20It's kind of a concise little system that scooted through,
00:22but if you were in the middle of it there in Central Oklahoma, it certainly made some noise.
00:26Well, a new disturbance is going to bring the next weathermaker to the South Central U.S.
00:31Drenching thunderstorms and rain will be a big story in southwest, west, and south Texas here
00:38over the course of the weekend, Saturday and Sunday,
00:41and down into areas like the National Park there near the bend,
00:45and also down into McAllen, Harlingen, Westlaco, Brownsville, areas around the Rio Grande Valley there.
00:51We're looking at some drenching thunderstorms farther northeast.
00:54We look fantastic at Baton Rouge, Bama playing at LSU.
00:58No weather worries here. Sunshine, mid-70s, beautiful, perfect weather here for football.
01:03But farther south, this is where we have trouble.
01:06So we're going to watch as the rain returns.
01:08We've had some showers and storms today in western parts of New Mexico.
01:11A little bit of very high elevation snow there in parts of New Mexico.
01:13But look at the rain returning to El Paso, Midland, Odessa.
01:17Most of this stays south of Lubbock, but it's going to come in surges here.
01:20Laredo, Del Rio, areas like Austin and New Braunfels,
01:25and areas around the area of San Antonio down into Corpus Christi.
01:29Off and on, wet weather all weekend long.
01:31Sunday, it's still with us for the Rio Grande Valley, and this could lead to flooding.
01:35A soggy weekend forecast.
01:37Localized flooding.
01:38There will be some drought relief embedded within this,
01:40but it's going to get in the way of some of your outdoor plans.
01:43In San Angelo, down into San Antonio, the hill country is going to be affected by this as well.
01:48So there is a flash flood risk, especially the southeastern hill country,
01:51down through the Rio Grande Valley of Laredo, all the way down to McAllen and Brownsville.
01:57And by the numbers, we're forecasting an area with 4 to 8 inches.
02:01Areas like Beeville could be hit hard with heavy rain.
02:032 to 4 inches south of San Antonio, all the way down to Brownsville, Westlaco, and McAllen.
02:09So that's going to be a big storyline.
