00:00Let's look at future, well, the current radar and cloud combination here.
00:03Let's look at satellite and radar.
00:06And many of these storms here in this corridor, southern Pennsylvania into central Virginia, pushing east.
00:13Some have been severe.
00:14Flash flooding has been the most widespread issue that we've been facing.
00:18So, again, we're going to emphasize that.
00:20Flash flooding and then also some damaging wind in some spots.
00:23But we probably had about five flash flood reports for every one damaging wind report today among these storms here
00:30in New Jersey, the Philadelphia metro, and down into Baltimore and D.C. as well.
00:34Friday, numerous thunderstorms will be on the map.
00:36This is going to be driven by a cold front.
00:39Now, is it going to get chilly behind this?
00:41Absolutely not.
00:42We may get a little bit cooler than the norm, though.
00:45Philadelphia's average high is around 88 this time of the year, getting to be the hottest time of the year.
00:49We'll be around 85 or 86 behind the front on Saturday and Sunday.
00:54But by Monday and Tuesday, we warm back up.
00:56And, again, the biggest change that you're going to feel from this front isn't necessarily the drop in temperature, but
01:01you will notice the drop in humidity, at least for those of you from the Pennsylvania Turnpike North.
01:07Now, we're not there yet Friday.
01:08Still storms on the map, scattered thunderstorms.
01:11Some will be severe.
01:12The best chance for severe weather is going to be generally from areas like Scranton and New York City southward.
01:17And then on Saturday, the front takes another step south.
01:20It doesn't race away into the Carolines.
01:23It just drifts, pushing south into Maryland and Virginia.
01:26But each day, you'll notice we get a little drier to the north, and the storms get squashed to the
01:31south a bit more.
01:31Sunday, this is the driest, nicest day of the weekend for even Virginia.
01:36But for Friday, storm threat with us, New York City up to Scranton and all the way down through the
01:42Chesapeake Bay region, Philadelphia to Richmond and beyond.
01:45Saturday, this is when most of us north of I-80, you're going to enjoy dry, pleasant weather.
01:50Great day in New England.
01:51Great day in upstate New York.
01:53Scattered storms linger in West Virginia, southern Ohio, Maryland, Virginia.
01:58That's Saturday.
01:59And there's still some risk of severe weather Saturday south of D.C.
02:02into Saturday afternoon and night down through the Carolinas and eastern parts of Georgia.
02:07Wind and, again, flash flooding will be the main concerns.
02:10Sunday, you know, we'd love to give everybody a nice, bright, dry forecast, but still, the tail of this front,
02:17I'm not going to draw it as a cold front anymore.
02:19It's just going to be basically a stationary front here.
02:22And it's going to be draped right across this area around the Virginia-North Carolina line.
02:28So it only makes it so far south.
02:31The storm chances continue in Williamsburg and into Virginia Beach.
02:35Weather pattern, then, it really gets hot next week across the northern plains, the core of the heat dome.
02:40It's going to be broiling out there across the plains.
02:44The northeast, well, it's kind of partial credit.
02:47We get some edge of the heat there.
02:51We'll be up around 90 on Tuesday in Philadelphia.
02:53That happens to be the day of the Midsummer Classic here in Major League Baseball action.
02:58Last time the big game, the Midsummer Classic, was in Philadelphia.
03:02It was back in 1996 at Veteran Stadium.
03:05Mike Piazza, born in Norristown up the road, won the MVP.
03:09This year, well, it's at Citizens Bank Park.
03:11It's been in place since 2004.
03:13It's going to be up near 90 for the warmest part of the afternoon, 84 for the first pitch, drifting.
03:18Temperatures barely nudged downward through the low 80s to the upper 70s.
03:21It does happen to be the same night as a new moon, so a starlit sky will be overhead as
03:26you drive on home.
