00:08These little league baseball fields in Atlantic Iowa were flooded out.
00:13I don't know how Atlantic Iowa got its name, but maybe it was a little bit too appropriately named
00:21as there's like an ocean of water out there in some of those fields.
00:24All right, let's take you into a look at what's going on in the north central tonight.
00:28Very different forecast from one part of the region to the other.
00:32Some of you are going to feel like midsummer warmth and heat with a low tonight of 79 in St.
00:38Louis
00:39with thunderstorms in Peoria, Indianapolis, Columbus, even Pittsburgh.
00:42Your low tonight will be around 70. It's going to be pretty humid.
00:45It will feel like a summer night.
00:47On the other hand, on the other side of this front, we've got patchy fog.
00:50They could be dense in Sioux Falls.
00:51And we're going to be in the upper 40s tonight into Bismarck, so a nice cool fall-like night there.
00:57So a big contrast across the region.
00:59Thursday, there's a stripe of heavy rain showers and thunderstorms in southern Iowa again,
01:04central Illinois into Indiana and Ohio.
01:06Interstate 70 is generally right along the risk area zone.
01:10And then a second disturbance moves into the western part of the plains.
01:13Let's watch this play out here.
01:14We're most concerned about the eastern part of this rain area.
01:18Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, southern Michigan into Ohio.
01:21There's one round, Thursday morning to midday.
01:24A break with more of the action Thursday evening farther west into the central and northern plains.
01:29And then Friday, more rain pushes east.
01:32Some of this is going to be disruptive because look at this Friday night to Saturday morning.
01:35Iowa and then eventually Illinois and Indiana on Saturday get back into it.
01:39So there's about a two-and-a-half-day window Thursday night through Saturday with a flash flood threat.
01:43This dashed line shows the arrival of this next surge Thursday night to Friday morning in southwest Minnesota.
01:50Friday late morning there in Minneapolis.
01:53And then by 7 a.m. Saturday, the rain pushes into areas like Green Bay, Wisconsin.
01:57So that Thursday night through Saturday window will bring us two to four inches of rain.
02:02Watertown, Minneapolis, may end up with around four inches.
02:04Four to eight inches just southeast of there.
02:06Look out into Red Wing and Eau Claire.
02:09Milwaukee, one to two inches of rain Thursday night through Saturday.
02:12That's going to be pretty impactful.
