00:00And we continue to track some severe threats. Now, the risk of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes is down substantially from
00:07where we were over the past seven or eight days when we've had daily tornado threats on the map. This
00:13time around, moving through tonight and again tomorrow and even into Friday, there may be a very isolated tornado, but
00:19this is predominantly a hail, wind and flash flood risk from Del Rio and Eagle Pass, Texas, across areas like
00:26San Antonio and Burney and maybe as far north as Pflugerville.
00:30Down into areas near Victoria, Texas, Houston, Lake Charles, New Orleans, and in between Baton Rouge, you can see some
00:35gusty thunderstorms with some hail. Look at that hail. Also, some really nasty storms over the past couple of days
00:40in Mississippi yesterday.
00:42So, overall, this is going to be moving east and driven by a disturbance that crosses northern Mexico and the
00:47desert southwest with some showers and storms even near Tucson. And as this rolls east, you can see the storms
00:53get a little more aggressive tomorrow. Watch this in the afternoon.
00:56Moving into an area near Corpus Christi, Beeville, Victoria, Houston, and east along I-10. Some of those storms will
01:03be severe on Friday. I think Friday's threat's a little greater than this evening's.
01:06So, Friday, numerous thunderstorms. Some drought relief in South Alabama, South Georgia, North Florida. That's good news there. The severe
01:14risk is mainly, again, west, south Texas, coastal southeast Texas as well, and then into southern Louisiana.
01:21So, areas from Fort Stockton out there in areas where we see a lot of large hail in West Texas,
01:26then down into the Rio Grande Valley, and from San Antonio south, the southern part of the hill country. You
01:31can see some of this as well. But then, again, the Texas coast and coastal Louisiana.
01:35Saturday, by the way, strong storms may accompany the front into north Florida. This is drought relief. That's good news
01:41there. And coming up throughout the course of the evening, we're going to be talking to Anna about the drought
01:45relief in a more meaningful, widespread scale here, where some will see two to four inches, some will see one
01:50to two inches of rain.
01:51But there will be some strong storms on Saturday afternoon and evening with some gusty winds in areas from around
01:57Tampa, St. Pete, all the way north. It's more likely up into Jacksonville, Gainesville, Ocala, and nearby. So, that's a
02:04concern.
02:05South of there, we're going to have some very warm weather. We may even make a run at tying a
02:09record high in Vero Beach. 94 would match the date, the record for, what, May 2nd of 2002.
02:15And then behind this, it gets cold enough for some record-challenging lows and record-breaking lows for some.
