00:00Hello, the weather patterns remain pretty static.
00:04We've got a big blocking area of high pressure sitting to the northeast,
00:07low pressure down to the southwest trying to bring more rain in.
00:10Not really making much progress except for the Isles of Scilly into the west of Cornwall later today.
00:16So many places largely dry out there.
00:19Main exception will be eastern Scotland where there's more rain to come
00:22with a bit of snow over the tops of the hills.
00:24There'll be some drizzly rain elsewhere at times but a lot of cloud,
00:27quite a grey and gloomy Monday in February and a fairly brisk wind bringing a chill.
00:33Temperatures close to average, 8, 9 degrees at best in the southwest,
00:38mostly a degree or so below the average for early February.
00:41And feeling colder on these eastern coasts with that breeze.
00:43With a bit of shelter though, western Scotland definitely continues to be the place to be
00:48if you have to reasonably bright and dry weather.
00:51Now as you go through the night, a couple of things will happen.
00:53The rain will spread into the southwest.
00:54Not especially heavy but just because the ground is so soggy it is likely to cause some further issues here.
01:00Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset in particular spreading into parts of south Wales too.
01:06And at the same time the snow level starts to drop in eastern Scotland.
01:10So not just confined to the tops of the hills,
01:12some of the higher routes likely to be affected by the time we get to morning time.
01:16In between, many places again dry, that breeze and the cloud actually keeping the temperatures up above freezing.
01:21But it's going to feel cold tomorrow, especially in this rainy zone.
01:26Of course, south Wales and south-east England may start dry in London.
01:30But the rain will creep its way in, spreading into the Midlands.
01:33Also, it turns a bit drier for tomorrow.
01:35Across Cornwall and the Isles of Sydney and eventually parts of Devon will dry up too.
01:39That snow level continues to fall.
01:41So by the end of the day, you could be seeing some snow even to relatively low levels in eastern Scotland.
01:47Rain on the coast, but snow, let's say, if you come a little bit further inland.
01:51Largely a dry day for northern England, northern Ireland.
01:53Again, western Scotland doing okay for sunshine.
01:56But the rain extending into East Anglia by the end of the day.
01:59And with that cloud and breeze and that rain trickling northwards,
02:03temperatures only really four or five degrees, maybe a little less than that in some locations.
02:08Might squeak up to 11 Celsius in the far south-west.
02:11So if we compare tomorrow's temperatures to today's values,
02:15well, the south-west of England may be a degree higher.
02:18But elsewhere, we're a degree, two degrees, even three degrees lower.
02:21So it will feel quite a bit colder.
02:23And again, especially in that wind.
02:25Increasingly, the rain turning to snow in eastern Scotland
02:28and perhaps over the northern Isles as well as we head into Tuesday night and Wednesday.
02:33At the same time, this zone of wet weather tracking northwards could bring some snow
02:37over parts of northern England and north Wales, mostly over the hills.
02:41So plenty going on still with the weather throughout this week.
02:44You want to keep up to date with the very latest.
02:47Aidan will have a full week ahead video available on our YouTube channel.
