Peter the Puppy’s removable overalls come together with a simple crochet strap technique in this helpful support tutorial. Follow along as the straps are made by chaining over the arms, skipping stitches for the armholes, and continuing the round until the overalls are ready to finish.

This amigurumi crochet guide is designed to work alongside the written Peter the Puppy pattern, so you can complete the low-sew dog doll and its little outfit with confidence. The tutorial shows how the straps are shaped to fit the body, then joined neatly with a slip stitch before the yarn is cut and the ends are woven in.

If you enjoy crochet tutorials, amigurumi clothing, doll accessories, and handmade stuffed animal projects, this video gives a clear look at one small but important part of the pattern. It is especially useful for makers following a puppy crochet pattern, removable overalls, or a gender-neutral gift project for kids.

00:18so we're making this little guy some overalls here and in this round where you're making the
00:24straps you're going to want to stop um single crocheting when you reach the arms in here
00:33we're actually going to make the chain for the straps so i'm going to make enough chains to go
00:38over the arms into the other side and it'll depend on how large um your amigurumi is and what your
00:46tension is but let me go ahead and count how many chains i'll have so that's one chain two three
00:53four five let's see how it looks draped around let me do a little more
01:02here is six and i think six chains is about right for my amigurumi's uh overall strap
01:11after you do your chains you're gonna skip a few stitches for the arm hole so i'm gonna skip one
01:17two and let's see i'd like to go into this next stitch over here so in all i've skipped three
01:29stitches uh for the arm hole that's one two and three then i'm gonna go into that next stitch
01:36and single crochet
01:40and i'm basically gonna just keep single crocheting around if i'm not skipping stitches i'm doing
01:47single crochets here
01:55and i will pause when i reach the second arm
02:05and for this second arm i'm gonna basically repeat the same thing as the other side so i'm gonna chain
02:11six one two three four five six then i'm gonna go ahead and skip three stitches um underneath for the
02:22arm
02:22hole one two and three stitches go into that next stitch hold on let me see one two three okay
02:31going
02:32into this next one and single crochet and i'm gonna single crochet until i reach the end of my round
02:53and it's not clear but it's right here where i'm gonna join with a slip stitch
02:57stitch to my first single crochet and here i can go ahead and stop um i can snip off my
03:05yarn
03:05and weave in the ends
03:16and voila you've got your little overall straps done for your amigurumi be sure to follow the pattern um
03:25i'll put the link in the description box and this little guy um can have removable as you can see
03:32it's removable overalls so you can go ahead and actually take the straps off like so
03:41and pull off the overalls
03:53and when you're ready to put them on again um they just slide on the little body just fine
04:00all right hope this tutorial for making the overall straps was helpful
