00:08hi friends today we're going to crochet this adorable little candy it takes me only about
00:1413 and a half to 14 minutes to make each one when i'm totally focused on it and it is
00:21completely
00:21no sew very quick and easy to work up these are great to make as little party favors or
00:28stocking stuffers you can even add them to little goodie bags or easter egg baskets and they look so
00:37adorable as keychains too these candies can be made with different types of yarn as well
00:43i have these on the sides made with super bulky weight six yarn it's a chanel velvet yarn making
00:50it really plush and soft and it works up larger as you can see i used a five millimeter hook
00:58with
00:58this super bulky weight yarn here's a 2.75 millimeter hook that i use with this medium
01:04weight yarn and the stitch definition for this is a lot clearer so i'm demonstrating um the pattern
01:12with this today so you can clearly see the stitches and as always if you'd like to get the written
01:18pdf pattern i do have that available linked in the description below it also comes with bonus
01:24printable candy themed gift tags for this pattern i'm using medium weight for yarn here and a 2.75
01:37millimeter hook to go along with the yarn you can use a thicker or thinner yarn if you want just
01:43use
01:43a suitable size hook for it you'll also need a small amount of stuffing scissors and optionally a yarn
01:52needle and that's just to help weaving the ends in you don't need to actually do any sewing for this
01:59let's now begin for round one we can use the chain method to begin or the magic ring if you
02:06use the
02:06chain method you're going to chain two and insert six single crochets in the second chain from the hook
02:11and if you use the magic ring like i'm doing here you're going to insert six single crochets into the
02:18magic ring so now i'm going to put in one two three oops four five and six
02:40tightening the magic ring
02:43and now for round number two we're going to insert um an increase in every back loop around
02:51working only in those back loops so going into that first back loop and just as a reminder we're not
02:58going through both loops like we normally would but into that loop that's farther away from you that's
03:03the back loop we're going to insert two single crochets for an increase there
03:11in the next back loop i'm going to increase again
03:19in the next back loop i'm going to increase again
03:26and we're going to repeat around
03:45you should have a total of 12 stitches now at the end of the round and you will also have
03:51all these push
03:52up unworked front loops that you will crochet into for these sides and this is a little tip but if
04:00you would like to you can insert your stitch marker into one of the back loops in this round
04:07to make it easier to find for later so i'm just going to put that stitch marker into my last
04:15back loop here
04:17and i'm going to continue working along now for round number three we're going to single crochet and
04:24increase all the way around so here i'm going to single crochet in the first stitch
04:29and then increase in the next stitch like so
04:36single crochet in the next stitch and then increase in the next
04:43and we're repeating that around for a total of six times with 18 stitches as the total um end of
04:53stitch
04:53end of round stitch count
05:09and now we are going to make straight rounds we're simply going to single crochet around from round four
05:16all the way to round six so i'm adding a little stitch marker here or a yarn scrap
05:24and that's just to keep track of where the start of my round four is going to be
05:30as you can see this little pink um scrap is going to be right at the start of round four
05:37and i'm going to single crochet around again just inserting one single crochet in each stitch
05:47let's meet back at the end of round six
05:55here's a look at my amigurumi so far i actually went up to round seven for this because um the
06:02original
06:03pattern was designed using plush yarn and the plush yarn has rows that or rounds that come out a little
06:11wider than the um this medium weight cotton yarn so if you want to add an additional round or two
06:19you can in order to make it a little longer now if you want to keep it at round six
06:27and stop there for
06:28the straight round that's totally fine too but for this one i actually added one extra round so you can
06:35see
06:35from here that's round four five six and the extra round number seven all right continuing on for this
06:44next round and i'm still going to call it round seven according to my pattern because i added an extra
06:49round here we'll just pretend that's not in the numbered instructions but we're going to single crochet
06:56crochet and decrease all the way around that's single crochet and then decrease and there's two different
07:04ways to do a decrease the regular method is to go through the first loop uh go into the first
07:09stitch
07:10pull through a loop go into the second stitch pull up a loop and then pull through yarn over pull
07:16through all three loops that's a regular decrease but if you want your decreases to look seamless and invisible
07:24you can do the invisible decrease which i'm going to demonstrate here for the invisible decrease
07:30you're going to insert your hook into the first front loop of the next stitch front loop only then
07:38insert your hook into the next front loop of the next stitch yarn over pull through both of those loops
07:46then yarn over and pull through the last two loops that's an invisible decrease let's repeat that
07:54again so i'm going to single do my next sequence of single crochet and now i'm going to do my
07:59invisible
08:00decrease hook into the first front loop then hook into the next front loop yarn over go through both of
08:09those loops then yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops let's do that again single crochet
08:18and then we're going to go into the first front loop and then the second front loop yarn over go
08:24through
08:24both yarn over go through both loops
08:29and we're repeating this around a total of six times you'll have 12 stitches in the end here
08:53all right and that's that for the decreases um for this round now you can go ahead and um stuff
09:02your amigurumi
09:04i'm actually going to pull this starting yarn tail in
09:10let's get that hidden into the amigurumi
09:21and we're going to stuff our little circle here
09:34and for this last round we are simply going to decrease all the way around
09:41and i'm going to decrease by doing the invisible decreases again you're welcome to use the regular
09:48decrease if you like that more i just prefer the look of the invisible decrease especially if i'm
09:56working with yarn um that has very good stitch definition
10:23and now we're at the end here what we're gonna do is insert your hook into the front
10:29loop of the next stitch
10:34and we're going to pull through with a different yarn color
10:38i'm going to use white for the sides of my candy
10:44we're making the sides now so go ahead and find the yarn color you want for that
10:49and we're gonna pull through with this for a slip stitch first
10:54like as you can see here and now we're gonna chain two and we're going to insert um four double
11:03crochets into that same stitch that you chained out of so i'm gonna make one double crochet two
11:15three
11:16three
11:19and four
11:27now we're going to go into the next front loop
11:30we're working only in front loops here
11:33four and in that next front loop we're going to double uh insert four double crochets again
11:41one
11:43two
11:52oops
11:53here's three
11:55and here's four
12:00and we're repeating this all the way around so working into those front loops and inserting
12:06four double crochets in each front loop you should have a total of
12:1224 double crochets at the end of this round
12:42when you reach the end you're going to join with a slip stitch to the very first
12:46double crochet you made so not the starting chains but the first double crochet
12:53and pull through for that slip stitch and you're going to fasten off with a bit of a tail for
12:58weaving in
13:05also you're going to fasten off the pink or the color used for the center
13:11and i like to fasten off with a longer tail so that you can use it to sew the opening
13:16closed
13:19and we'll go ahead and kind of leave these ends for now we're going to sew them at the end
13:25and you might
13:26notice that your um the side looks a little stiff you're going to want to kind of um use your
13:32fingers
13:32to fold the sides so that it turns into more of this floppy shape
13:39there we go and let's crochet the other side finishing it off before we fasten off and weave in
13:46all the ends um as you can see because i marked the oops get rid of that yarn scrap since
13:54i marked the
13:56front loop here i can easily locate it again and you're going to be working into those unworked
14:02front loops created in round two of the candy so i'm going to just take off my stitch marker here
14:10and let's go ahead and attach the color yarn you want for the sides i'm using white and after you
14:20attach the yarn you're simply going to chain two to begin so here i'm going to chain one and two
14:26and
14:27now i'm going to insert four double crochets into each of those front loops around it's the same
14:35instruction as the previous one so for this i'm going to insert one two
14:45three
14:47and four double crochets
14:51now for the next stitch go into that front loop only
14:57you can see that here and we're going to insert four double crochets again
15:11one two three and four and let's go into the next front loop again
15:24and we're going to insert four again one two three and four and let's repeat all the way around until
15:36the end
16:18now at the end here i'm going to join with a slip stitch to the very first
16:22double crochet that i made
16:26and we're going to fasten off and weave in the ends
16:37you may find it helpful to use a yarn needle to weave in the ends here
16:41but it is completely optional you can also use your hook if you um want to
16:52you may find it helpful as far to use the next stitch to do all the way around now
17:12and you can also use the two-point connections to the side museum
17:13and then i move a loop again to do a little bit more through it
17:17all right now i'm going to close off the opening for the last
17:22um round of the candy here
17:42and when you finish a candy you can kind of pinch in those edges of the sides a little bit
17:49to give it a crinkled look
17:57and that's that these little candies are so quick and fun to make you're going to love crocheting
18:05them in all the colors as you can see i have made them in all sorts of different colors and
18:12they are
18:12also fun to make in different types of yarns i've demonstrated today with this medium weight cotton
18:18yarn but it's also um super plush and soft if you want to make it with this plush chanel yarn
18:26i have yarns linked in the description box below if you want to check that out
18:30thank you so much for watching today and hope you had a fun day crafting bye now
