00:08hi friends jade from sweet softies here today i am going to show you a cute little tutorial on how
00:15to make bingo or bluey it's the same pattern but using different yarn colors you can create
00:21these two little pups and as you can see um they are made using plush yarn you'll get this nice
00:29um pocket sized plush once you finish but you can definitely try it with medium weight yarn for an
00:37even smaller doll and that would be the perfect keychain size but these little plushes are great
00:43for little hands to pretend play with now if you'd like please follow along with the written pattern

00:56on how to download that let's go ahead and review the materials
01:03you will need some super bulky weight six chanel velvet yarn in your desired colors
01:08i'll be crocheting bingo in this tutorial but you can use blue yarns for bluey
01:14you will also need a five millimeter crochet hook
01:1712 millimeter plastic safety eyes a yarn needle stuffing scissors and thin black yarn to embroider the
01:27nose let's go ahead and get started
01:35let's crochet the muzzle we're going to start off with a slip knot for our chain
01:43once you have the slip knot let's go ahead and chain two
01:47one and two then you're going to insert eight single crochets in that second chain from your hook
01:56so going into that second chain i'm going to put in one single crochet two single crochets three
02:09four five six seven and eight
02:20and after you do eight single crochets you're going to go ahead and fasten off
02:25with a long tail you will go ahead and sew this to the head later
02:34so just keep it on the side for now if you like go ahead and use some black
02:40thread to sew a little nose on the muzzle
02:48now for the head we're going to begin with the darker color yarn
02:51if you're making bingo you are using dark brown or that reddish brown
02:56and if you are making bluey you are using the dark blue
03:03for round one you are simply going to start with your slip knot for your chain
03:09then you're going to chain two one and two
03:14and then you're going to insert eight single crochets into that second chain from your hook
03:20so going into this second chain here i'm inserting one two three
03:35four
03:39five six
03:43seven
03:46and eight single crochets
03:51that's that for round number one for round two we're going to go ahead and increase all the way
03:57around all right so going into that very first single crochet we're going to insert two single crochets
04:04for an increase increase again in the next stitch
04:13increase in the third stitch
04:19and continue repeating this around
04:38now that you've gone all the way around you should have 16 stitches around and we are ready to move
04:45on
04:46to round number three for round three we're going to single crochet three
04:51increase and repeat that around for a total of four times that will give you 20 stitches total
04:58so let's go ahead and um let me demonstrate that you're going to single crochet one
05:07two and three
05:09and in that next stitch you're going to increase
05:12so here i'm putting two single crochets in the same stitch
05:18repeat that around single crochet one two and three then you're going to increase
05:32that's my second repetition here's the third one one
05:36one two oops two and three single crochets and an increase
05:47the last one one two three single crochets and an increase
05:59that's that for round number three
06:02for round four to round six all you're going to do is single crochet around and if you'd like to
06:08use
06:09a scrap piece of yarn you can go ahead and put that before you start your um round four to
06:16keep track of where your um where the start of your round is go ahead and single crochet around
06:24as you can see i'm going just um into each stitch with one single crochet
06:32we're not going to increase or decrease here we're just doing straight rounds here i have finished round
06:38number six of the pattern we've got round four five and six here now to move on to round seven
06:46you're going to get
06:47a lighter color yarn for the body i'm using this lighter brown for bingo and for bluey you'll you would
06:55be using
06:55light blue instead of dark blue so switching over there when you are ready to switch yarn colors
07:02here is what you will do for that last stitch just pull up your working loop like so
07:10then insert your hook into the last stitch
07:16just going through those two loops here here's a look
07:24and now we're going to go ahead and pull through that lighter color yarn that you want to switch to
07:33and you will just crochet normally in the next stitches oops don't want to lose that loop
07:41okay so into the next stitch i'm going to single crochet single crochet and keep working around
07:55and you will basically single crochet around for around seven to eight as you can see you've got a nice
08:04clean color change right here going from dark brown to light brown and when you are ready um when you've
08:13done a few stitches you can go ahead and pull the working loop back and as you can see it'll
08:21just kind of
08:21be stuck over there so you can fasten off with a bit of a tail and go ahead and hide
08:27that color the dark brown
08:30inside the body we're just gonna keep working along here with the light brown and again you are simply
08:40going to single crochet around so no increasing or decreasing and we'll meet back at the end of round
08:50round eight excuse me
08:53here is a look at round eight completed as you can see we've done round seven and eight which is
09:01with
09:01the light color after the dark color change and now we're going to pause actually um in the body to
09:10crochet
09:11the ears and we're also going to use this time to make that center stripe going through the head
09:19and we're going to sew on the muzzle and also attach the eyes so a lot of different things we're
09:25doing
09:25here before we finish the body and the reason for that is because it's so much easier to attach parts
09:33to the um body and do some sewing for example and attach the eyes before we actually close it up
09:41so since i will be using this light brown color again i'm just going to fasten off with a long
09:47tail
09:48for now and this um we're going to just uh kind of reattach more brown yarn light brown yarn for
09:59the rest
10:00of the body later but for now this is just going to sit to the side and i'm going to
10:04make sure my
10:05working loop is pulled long enough so that it doesn't get loose or get undone i'm going to start
10:13off with that center stripe i find it easier to do that because um then i can kind of section
10:19off
10:19my doll's head into two parts and i like to start from the very back and um i find the
10:28back to be
10:29the part where the color change happens because you don't want that in the front where it's obvious
10:34so i'm just going to insert my hook into that stitch uh between the two color change um stitches
10:44and i'm going to attach this light brown yarn for the center stripe
10:49again if you are making bluey you are going to be using the light brown color uh light blue color
10:55for the center stripe so with light brown here for bingo i'm pulling it through
11:03and we're going to use the surface slip stitch technique to go all the way around first i pull
11:10the yarn through and make a chain then i'm going to go into the next stitch you can see that
11:19i'm working
11:20up um up towards the top of the head here so i'm going to insert my hook under the next
11:26stitch
11:27pull yarn through for a slip stitch we're going to keep doing that so go under the next stitch pull
11:36yarn
11:36through for a slip stitch and keep working all the way up the head
12:04as you can see i'm going up um and i've made it midway to the top we're going to keep
12:12going along the edge
12:14you can fold your piece um from time to time to make sure that your stripe is still centered
12:39all right and what you can do is you can actually go um you don't have to go all the
12:45way down to
12:46that last stitch because what you'll add in is the muzzle for your dog which is going to cover that
12:54last bit anyway so if you want to take out a stitch or so let's see
13:04then the part where your muzzle goes on won't be too bulky so i'm actually going to stop here just
13:12a little before the end of the round or let me see
13:20let me take off one more stitch here okay i'm going to leave the last two rounds unworked
13:28and i'll snip off yarn for that center strip and once you fasten off you're going to just weave in
13:39the ends so i'm pulling it right back through into the body and pulling the back starting tail through as
13:48well
13:57so it should look something like this and again i left the last two rounds on unworked so that my
14:05muzzle won't be too bulky sitting on top you can crochet all the way down if you want to
14:13do but here's how that centers um that surface slip stitch looks and it gives a nice and neat look
14:20now let's go ahead and crochet the ears have the doll facing you this is the front of my doll
14:26and
14:27here is the back with the color change so doll facing you we're going to start with the doll's left
14:33ear
14:35and we're going to um crochet the ear over round two and three of the head here's around one two
14:42and
14:43three you're going to insert your hook under stitch in round three where you want the ear to go so
14:50you
14:50might want to fold your doll in half to see where the um that midpoint is and after you insert
14:58your hook
14:58under stitch in round three you're going to attach your yarn like so then you're going to make a chain
15:09half double crochet in that same stitch
15:17make a chain half double crochet into the next stitch and the next stitch is going under round two here
15:31then make a chain and then you're going to fasten off and basically pull this yarn tail back into
15:38the head so here i'm going to go ahead and fasten off with a long enough tail for time
15:46here's another reason why i like to crochet the ears while the head is still open
15:53so i can tie all the loose ends inside and not worry about my stitches coming undone
16:05all right so flipping it inside out you'll see that these are here's where the ear is
16:12and here are the two yarn tails for the ear i'm going to tie it securely inside
16:23triple knot it
16:27and that way the ear will be nice and secure in the head
16:38now that's um that for the inner part of the ear for the outer ear we're going to go ahead
16:44and grab
16:45the darker blue yarn or a darker brown yarn for bingo
16:56and what we're going to do is we're going to attach this um outer ear color to the first chain
17:03that you
17:03made back when you did the first or back when you did the ear so let me insert my hook
17:10into that first
17:11chain and attach that dark brown yarn
17:23then you're going to make a chain
17:28and then you're going to make a single crochet where you did the half double crochet earlier
17:38make a chain single crochet in the next stitch
17:50and slip stitch
17:52and slip stitch
17:53sorry it's a little hard to find my stitch here
18:01trying to get into both loops oops
18:07there we go and then you're going to slip stitch into that very last stitch
18:13when you do that you've basically created an outer trim along the um light brown color
18:21and you're going to fasten off with the tail
18:30and you're going to pull the starting and ending yarn tails into the body
18:49and if you want you can go ahead and pinch the ears a bit to give it that pointy shape
18:58like so
19:00you're going to um again tie the loose ends inside
19:07i'm going to triple knot it like i did with the first set of yarn tails
19:33and that's that for the ear you're going to repeat the same exact instructions
19:41over round two and three on the other side of the ear
19:46do exactly the same the only difference is you're starting on round two
19:51and then your second stitch is going to be in round three
19:54so your first stitch going into round two here
19:59around here
20:01and i'm going to go through this quickly and silently so you can take a look at how it's done
20:13all right decide to talk in case that helps you chain half double crochet
20:23chain half double crochet in that next stitch in round three
20:34and chain and we're gonna go ahead and fasten off with a long tail we're tying inside of the
20:45the head
20:49and now for repeating the next part i'm going to attach my yarn
20:54under the first chain that i'm or attach my hook
20:58under the first chain i made
21:12make a chain
21:15single crochet in the next stitch
21:23make a chain
21:25single crochet in the next stitch
21:35and then slip stitch into the last stitch
21:44then fasten off with a long tail
21:47and that's going to go inside of the head
21:56by now you have a bunch of yarn tails in the head
22:01which i guess will mean you can stuff your doll a little less and save on the stuffing
22:13all right and i'm gonna go ahead and tie those dark brown yarn tails together
22:21also triple knotting here
22:27all right and it may help for you to
22:31kind of readjust your um ears a little bit by pulling on them and
22:37pinching them to make the um tips nice and sharp
22:44now we can go ahead and sew the muzzle to the face
22:48if you haven't already embroider a small black nose oops
22:53um using black thread or black yarn and a yarn needle
22:57and then take your muzzle place it to the center of the face
23:01like so and we can go ahead and stitch it down
23:05and just go slow stitch by stitch
23:30when you are ready to attach the plastic safety eyes
23:34go ahead and grab some 12 millimeter eyes or you could go bigger or smaller if you'd like
23:39and i put them between either rounds four and five like up here
23:46or you could put them one round lower between rounds five and six
23:52so it depends on what kind of look you'd like for your amigurumi
23:55but for bingo here i like um her eyes set a little lower between rounds five and six
24:04and if you take a look at bluey here i put her eyes between rounds four and five which is
24:10a little bit higher
24:17after you are satisfied with where you've set your eyes in you can go ahead and attach the backings
24:33and if you struggle with putting on the backings you can go ahead and
24:36um check out this tool that i have for attaching plastic safety eyes
24:41it's linked in the description it helps attach them securely as you can see really nice and tight now
24:53and i don't have to hurt my fingers when i'm putting them in so i can usually manage to kind
24:59of
25:00get them in place but as you can see they're really hard to push in so these safety eye snappers
25:08are just
25:09perfect for that
25:21and here's my little bingo's eyes
25:30all right so that was a lot just now putting in the stripe the ears the muzzle and the eyes
25:37and now we can go ahead and continue with the body for the next round of the body round number
25:46nine
25:46we're going to single crochet four increase and repeat that four times around for a total of 24
25:53stitches so here i'm gonna do one two three four single crochets and an increase in the next stitch
26:07repeat that again one two three four single crochets and an increase in the next stitch
26:22and since i cut my yarn earlier to do the ears and the stripe i've now run out so i
26:29need to go ahead and attach
26:30more of this brown yarn
26:45okay let's continue single crochet four one two three
26:55three four and increase
27:04last repetition one two three and four and an increase
27:19now for rounds number 10 to 11 all you're going to do is just single crochet around we will meet
27:27back
27:28when round 11 is complete
27:33now i have single crocheted around for two more rounds rounds 10 and 11 and i'm going to go ahead
27:40and move into round 12. for round 12 you're going to single crochet and decrease around eight times
27:47for a total of 16 stitches here's what it'll look like single crochet and then a decrease by stitching two
27:57stitches together
27:59single crochet decrease
28:07single crochet decrease
28:13single crochet decrease
28:19and let's do this all the way around
28:41now we are going to go ahead and insert stuffing into the body
28:49for this very last round round number 13 all we're going to do is decrease around
28:59when you decrease around you'll end up with a total of eight stitches
29:27feel free to add any last bits of stuffing to your amigurumi doll's body
29:33after you finish with round 13 you can go ahead and fasten off with a long tail
29:38which you'll use for sewing and um sewing this opening shut
29:52let's go ahead and make the arms and the legs
29:55to start we're going to begin round one with two chains
29:59so here's my slip knot to start the chain
30:03then it's one chain and two chains
30:06then you're going to insert four single crochets in that second chain from your hook
30:12that's one two three
30:19and four chains or single crochets excuse me
30:24and then you're going to single crochet around
30:27so insert a single crochet in each stitch
30:31that's one single crochets
30:36one single crochet in each stitch
30:44three
30:51and i need to turn my little piece inside out here so i'm going to kind of
30:58squeeze that part out the right side needs to come out
31:06it's a little fiddly when it's so small
31:10all right
31:12and i'm going to insert my hook into the last stitch for my fourth single crochet
31:20all right finishing up round two here we're going to switch colors to the light brown yarn or whatever
31:26color you want for the body that's going to make up the last two rounds of the arm or the
31:32last round of the leg
31:35after you attach the new color you're simply going to single crochet around
31:40for a total of four stitches that's one
31:45two
31:50three
31:54and four
31:59and if you want to make the legs you can go ahead and stop at just this round
32:07but if you want to make the arms they're just slightly longer the arms have one more round so
32:15let me make the arms here you're going to go ahead and do one more round
32:19with single crochets around for one
32:23two single crochets
32:27three single crochets
32:32and four
32:41and that with the two rounds will make up the arm
32:48and you're going to repeat that instruction uh fast enough with a long tail by the way
32:54you're going to use that tail for sewing the arm to the body
33:00so here you can see here's the little arm that's going to go right to the side of the body
33:12bluey's arms and legs are shown here as well just four rounds for the arms and three rounds for the
33:20legs
33:22that's round one and two in white and round three in blue light blue and that's it
33:31let's go ahead and make all the limbs
33:39let's crochet the tail for the tail we're going to start off with round one
33:44two chains and then four single crochets in that second chain from your hook
33:54so that's one single crochet two three and four
34:07then i'm going to insert a single crochet and then increase all the way around
34:14that's a two repetitions so in that first single crochet you're going to just insert one single crochet
34:21the next stitch increase
34:28in the next stitch a single crochet
34:34and in that last stitch an increase
34:46and you can go ahead and push your piece inside out so that the right side faces out and the
34:53wrong side goes in
34:56then you are going to start on round three for round three you're just going to single crochet around
35:03so that's six stitches total
35:05and that's six stitches total
35:27and that's six stitches total
35:35After single crocheting around for those six stitches, you can go ahead and switch yarn
35:40colors. I'm switching to the light brown yarn for Bingo here. And, oops, sorry, I'm just
35:54gonna pull through with my new color. This is the lazy way to change yarn colors.
36:06Then, single crochet around for this round. That's one, two, three, four, five, and six.
36:28Then, we're going to decrease in single crochet four. So in these next two stitches, I'm gonna
36:37crochet them together. Decrease, single crochet one, single crochet two, single
36:51crochet three, and single crochet four. I'm gonna snip off that white yarn because it's
37:03no longer needed. This way, it won't get in my way. Now for round six, you're going to
37:11decrease and single crochet three. So in this first stitch, I'm going to decrease here. Decrease,
37:24single crochet three, that's one, two, and three.
37:47And that's that for the tail. You can go ahead and fasten off with a long yarn tail because
37:53you will use that to sew to the body later. And you want to stick in all the yarn ends,
38:04so whatever's poking out, just use a yarn, uh, the back of a yarn needle to push that back
38:10into the piece.
38:16Once you have finished crocheting the different parts, you should have the head and the body
38:20piece, the two little legs, two little arms, and also the tail. Now for the final part of
38:31this pattern, you're going to put everything together by sewing them to the body. I like
38:37to start off with the arms. For the arms, you're going to go ahead and sew them right
38:43in between the color change here, between the dark and the light colors. That is round
38:51six to round seven. As a little trick for getting the thick plush yarn through the yarn
39:01needle, I just tug it on, um, tug it like this, and wiggle through.
39:18And find out where you want the arms to go into the side, and just go ahead and stitch
39:25it on.
39:35Go ahead and repeat on the other side. After you have the two arms sewn on, it's time to
39:40sew the tail and the two little legs to the body. The tail and the two legs will go between
39:47rounds 11 to 12. So counting down from the top, that's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,
39:5610, 11, and
39:5812. Right between 11 and 12 is a good spot. And you'll want to find where the center of
40:06your doll's body is. And go ahead and stitch the tail onto the body. After you stitch the
40:23tail on, you're going to do the same for the two legs. Just sew them to the front between
40:30rounds 11 and 12. Finally, when you have the little legs and the tail and the arms all sewn
40:39on, it's time to, um, sew the opening of the body shut. What I like to do is to go
40:47stitch
40:47by stitch, working only in the front loops, and putting a running stitch going back and
40:53forth. So I'm going into the first front loop, and out the next front loop. Into the next
41:02front loop, and out the next front loop. And repeating that around until I get back to the
41:12beginning. When you've gone all the way around, go ahead and just pull your yarn tail and you'll
41:23see that the body cinches, the opening cinches shut in a very tidy manner, like so. And you
41:31can go ahead and weave in your yarn tail.
