00:00We're going to be making a shrug for our little doll here.
00:05If you follow my pattern you'll have two rectangular pieces before you crochet them together.
00:12The first rectangular piece you're going to fasten off and with the second piece you're going to
00:18leave it unfastened because we're going to continue crocheting from here.
00:23So we're basically going to crochet around this um the two pieces.
00:28First you're going to start with a chain and we're going to go along this short edge right here.
00:37Just insert one single crochet um into each stitch around and it doesn't have to be exact.
00:47This part is quite forgiving but the goal is to create a nice uh smooth edge for this um for
00:55the
00:55shawl.
01:07After you have crocheted along that short edge, we're now going to continue crocheting along the
01:13short edge of the first triangle or first excuse me did I say triangle rectangle that you made.
01:20So I'm going to attach my hook here to the next corner and we're just going to make a single
01:27crochet and then that joins the two rectangles and now I'm going to single crochet across.
01:59As you can see, we've got this um edging going all the way around now.
02:05When you get to this um corner part what you can do is a after a single crochet make a
02:12chain and single
02:13crochet in the same stitch that makes a nice corner um sharper corner. Then we're going to
02:20single crochet along the long edge here.
02:52And once again as I get to this corner, I can make it a sharper point by doing that single
02:58crochet
02:59chain and single crochet. Then I'm going to crochet along this short edge.
03:31All right, now I've crocheted to this um corner.
03:36You've got the two um corners of the two rectangles attached and we have this nice little v in front.
03:44This is where the neck will go for the doll. We're now going to crochet a little button loop.
03:50For the button loop, you're going to chain six. One, two, three, four, five, six. And then you're going
03:58to slip stitch into the same uh stitch that you made the chain from. So when you do that, you'll
04:07create
04:07this little loop as you can see. And then we're going to single crochet along the um edge here.
04:17And I'm going to go around this v-shape. So going down this long edge of the rectangle.
04:46And then
04:48we're going to go ahead and um go into the other side of the rectangle. So as you see, we've
04:58crocheted
04:59down this way. Now we're going to crochet along the other edge.
05:07And since I've got this long uh this yarn tail that I fastened off the first rectangle with,
05:14I'm going to cut it. I'm going to cut it a little shorter. Just so I don't get confused here.
05:20And I'm going to actually work this um my stitches over this yarn tail. So as I crochet along,
05:32I'm just working it in. This way I don't have to weave it in later.
06:12So
06:14Here at the corner, I did my single crochet that I'm going to chain.
06:17I'm going to single crochet back, making a nice corner.
06:23And let's stop here to show you what it looks like.
06:27So as you can see, I had done my little buttonhole up here.

06:35And then crochet down along the V, crochet back up.
06:38Now we're going to finish up by single crocheting around the last short edge and the last long edge.
06:44Joining with a slip stitch to the first single crochet we made for the edging.

08:09Alright, this last part, I'm going to get ready to join to that first single crochet I made.
08:14I made a single crochet in the last stitch, a chain, and now I'm joining to that first single crochet.
08:22After you do that, you can go ahead and fasten off with a yarn tail to weave in.
08:35You're going to weave this tail in.
08:38And let's take a look.
08:40You're going to want to block your piece a little bit so that it doesn't curl up too much.
08:45Like, you can see the piece curling up from my tight tension here.
08:54But essentially, you're going to go ahead and sew a button to this corner of the shrug.
09:03And you're going to attach the button loop over there like so.
09:08So it makes a cute little shrug for my doll here.
09:21All you need to do is attach that little button.
09:24You're going to close it in.
