00:28We're going to
00:29crochet the bangs here. I've marked the center stitches in the face and
00:34that's seven stitches in the middle. So that's one, two, three, four, five, six, and
00:40seven. And for the bangs instruction, you are double crocheting around in all
00:46other stitches except for the center seven stitches. Let me show you how to
00:53work these in. So once you made that first marked stitch, you're going to insert a
01:02half double crochet.
01:11Then you're going to chain and you're going to slip stitch into the next stitch. Like
01:23so. For the next part, you're going to make another chain and then you're going to half
01:32double crochet in the next stitch. Then you're going to double crochet in the
01:42next stitch.
01:48half double crochet in the next stitch. Chain and then slip stitch in the next stitch.
02:07chain and half double crochet in the very last stitch.
02:16And at this point, you should be at your seventh marked stitch here and pull out your yarn scrap.
02:23And the bangs in the center are now complete.
02:30Again, for the remaining stitches, you are going to simply double crochet around.
02:35So let's continue with double crocheting in these last few stitches.
03:08And, um, oops.
03:10Oops. Got one last stitch here.
03:15And we're simply going to join with a slip stitch to the first double crochet you made.
03:21And now we're going to fasten off with a long tail.
03:27This is a tail that you'll use for sewing the bangs down, um, to the head.
03:37If you do not sew the bangs down, it's going to kind of fluff up like that, which looks quite
03:44funny.
03:44So let's go ahead and fix that.
03:48Just thread your yarn tail through a yarn needle.
03:58And we're going to get started on this section.
04:05Alright, there we go.
04:07So I'm going to insert my hook.
04:09Or, sorry, insert my, um, yarn needle in here.
04:14And you are going to kind of sew it down to, um, the round between round four and five.
04:23So that's where the double crochets are going to kind of hang out.
04:27And I don't go into every single stitch.
04:30Just the, um, just every two or three would be fine.
04:41So I'm going to skip a couple stitches here and go into the next one.
04:51And as you can see, I'm just going slowly around to make sure I stitch the bangs in place.
05:22Here's the finished look for the bangs.
05:24As you can see, it's been stitched down to the head.
05:28And it has a much neater look.
05:40Let's talk about the hood's placement as this could be a little confusing with the furry yarn.
05:47Um, when you're crocheting from rounds one all the way to three,
05:52you're working in the round and you're joining with a slip stitch.
05:57Starting row four, you're going to notice that I ask you to keep the last four stitches unworked.
06:03So when you have the last four stitches unworked, you're going to work in turned rows.
06:09And you're building up the length of the hood.
06:13So these unworked stitches at the bottom would go at the back of the doll's head like so.
06:20And when you work in these turned rows back and forth, you're building the length of your hood.
06:28So here I just finished row six, starting from this end and then crocheting around to here.
06:37So now I have finished row six and I'm placing the hood over my doll's head to see how it
06:44fits.
06:45I have row seven written for those of you who have tighter tension and need a little more to cover
06:52the doll's head,
06:53which may happen if you've stuffed your doll's head more than mine.
07:00So for instance, if you're noticing that the hood looks like this on your doll's head,
07:04you'll want to do row seven to finish up the length.
07:10If it's already like mine, I kind of understuffed the head a bit, but if it's looking like mine,
07:17where the head is being mostly covered, then you'll want to stop at row six.
07:23If I had gone up to row seven, it would hide too much of the face and I don't want
07:28that.
07:29So row seven is optional.
07:32Now for this last part, we're going to basically chain the strap and attach it to the other side of
07:39the hood,
07:40making it stay on the doll's head.
07:43So here, let me show you how that works.
07:47We're at the end of row six here.
07:50I'm going to chain five and then join with a slip stitch to the beginning of row six.
07:57So let's see how that works.
07:59One, two, three, four, and five.
08:04And now I'm going to insert my hook into the other side of the hood
08:12and pull through for a slip stitch to join.
08:20And I'd want to fasten off with a bit of a tail so that I can weave it in.
08:24And as you can see, when you do that, your doll's hood will be able to stay on.
08:33And you don't have to worry about it being floppy or fall off.
08:38So let's go ahead and snip off the ends.
08:47And you can use this tail to weave in.
08:51That's that for the hood.
09:03That's that for the hood.
09:05Something isn't it.
09:05Two, three, three, four, and five.
09:05Okay?ørg
09:05reliable, Bundeskenső. And you're
09:06the hood. Just have my eyes
09:06You
