Learn how to crochet a cute, beginner-friendly bath pouf in about 45 minutes using just three rounds and a few basic stitches. This easy DIY tutorial shows how a simple magic ring, chain, single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitch come together to make a handmade bath sponge that looks frilly and full.

The project uses 100% cotton yarn with a main color and a small contrast color for the handle, and the tutorial walks through each step clearly while following the free written pattern. As the rounds build, the pouf naturally curls into shape, making it a quick spa accessory or thoughtful handmade gift. It is part of the Tea Rose Spa Set, alongside a face scrubby, soap saver pouch, and facial washcloth.

Perfect for anyone looking for an easy crochet tutorial, bath pouf pattern, loofah alternative, shower sponge DIY, or beginner cotton crochet project. Great for spa set gifts, quick handmade accessories, and simple crochet ideas with a clean, practical finish.

00:05hi everyone welcome to my tutorial and today I'm going to show you how to make a cute little bath
00:12poof and please follow along with the written pattern that I have for free up on my website
00:18I'll link that in the description box below and it'll make this tutorial quite a bit easier just
00:25to kind of have those written steps as well so starting you'll need some yarn of course and I'm
00:34using a hundred percent cotton yarn this is lily sugar and cream yarn and you'll use one color as
00:42the main color I've chosen this nice pink and you'll also use a tiny bit of a contrast color
00:51for the handle part of the bath poof so I'll be starting off with the contrast color and what
01:03you're going to do is in round one start off with a magic ring so here I'm looping it around
01:11my finger
01:11to begin and you're going to insert 20 single crochets into the magic ring so here I'm going
01:22to hold that and insert one two three all the way up to 20
01:44okay so now that you've got 20 single crochets on your magic ring you're going to make the handle
01:52so for the handle I chain 40 you can make it however long you want it to be so add
01:58or decrease chains if
01:59you wish but following the pattern you'll chain 40 so that's one two three four five six seven eight nine
02:1010 and I'll go a little faster here
02:29all right so now that you've got 40 chains what you're going to do is make sure your chain does
02:38not
02:38twist so I'm going to make it um go around making sure it doesn't twist and you're going to join
02:48with
02:49a slip stitch to the third oops not third sorry join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet
02:56in the magic ring so I'm going to look for that first single crochet right over here
03:10insert my hook and join with a slip stitch
03:23then go ahead and pull your ring tight
03:30all right so that's the first part um the very first round for our bath poof and guess what you
03:39only have two more rounds to go um so the next two will take a little longer though so you're
03:46going to
03:46change to the main poof color if you'd like that to be um pink then choose pink or whichever um
03:53color you
03:54prefer so I've got my main color here and you're going to go ahead and chain three to start
04:02one two three um you know what I'm going to do actually I'm going to pause here so that I
04:10can
04:10actually tie my end together and I'm gonna show you how I weave in my ends without sewing for these
04:28okay so disconnecting my white here because I'm no longer using that
04:34all right so for the second round what you're going to do essentially is put four double crochets in
04:42every single one of these 20 stitches the first chain three actually counts as a double crochet
04:50so we're going to put just three more double crochets in the same stitch
04:55I'm going to go ahead and put it in here so as you can see right in the same stitch
05:02here
05:12oh and let me pull this this is the starting um magic ring
05:20end let me just pull that through so it's not in the way okay
05:29watch me weave in all three of these ends together
05:33haha all right three double crochets in that very first stitch let's go insert hook
05:44one double crochet two double crochets
05:52and three double crochets all in this same stitch
05:58all right that makes four total with that starting chain
06:03now see how I had kind of trapped those ends together when I was doing the double crochets
06:09well you can do the same if you don't want to do any weaving in which um which I personally
06:15don't
06:15like to do so I'd like to just crochet them in all right so for the next stitch again like
06:23the like
06:23what you want to do all the way around is insert four double crochets so going in there's one
06:36two
06:43three
06:46and four
06:49now you might notice your um poof is gonna skip um a little bit wonky and frumpy and that's a
06:59good
06:59thing because you want your poof to be very frilly um so as you crochet make sure
07:06that you're inserting your hook in to the next oops into the next stitch you might want to push your
07:17stitches back to make sure you're not missing any stitches in between
07:22going in here and i'm gonna do three sorry four double crochets that's one two oops
07:42you know what these ends are starting to get in my way
07:46and they're hidden enough in those double crochets so i'm going to cut them off
07:53at this point
07:58yeah i kind of need a new pair of scissors these aren't
08:01super sharp anymore i made the mistake of using them on some
08:07harder things once and they're no longer ideal for cutting yarn okay so you've got one two and then
08:16one three four all in that same stitch
08:22scooch them over so you can make sure you see the next stitch insert four over there one
08:30two
08:34three and four all in that same stitch
08:41all right and i'm not gonna bore you to death so i'm just going to do this quickly all the
08:48way
08:48around at the end you're going to join with a slip stitch here and i will resume the video in
08:56just a
08:56little bit when i'm there all right
09:05all right 200 hours later just kidding that only took about six minutes so um as you see i am
09:15almost
09:15done with round one sorry round two of this bath poof and we only have round three left to go
09:23and then
09:24we're done so to finish up with round two i just did the last four double crochets in that last
09:32stitch
09:33i'm going to join with a slip stitch to the first um or to the top of the chain three
09:41that i started off with in the round so i'm going to insert my hook here and join with a
09:48slip stitch
09:52there we go all right i have this loose tail here um with yarn i just attached because i ran
10:00out of
10:00um yarn in a i started off with a smaller ball of pink yarn so attached it to a new
10:08ball all right
10:10so for round two um why do i keep saying round two i'm sorry for round three the very last
10:18round
10:19you're going to do the same um round two which is essentially to chain three first that count as the
10:28first double crochet and then in that first stitch insert three more double crochets one
10:39two
10:45and three
10:50all right with that starting chain you've got four double crochets on that first stitch
10:56in the next stitch and in each of those 80 stitches around you're going to insert four
11:03double crochets so i'll demonstrate that a couple more times and then move quickly through the rest
11:10so in this next stitch insert four double crochets that'll be one
11:25two
11:28three and four all in that same stitch
11:33stitch like so in the next stitch again keep going around inserting four double crochets in each stitch
11:45here's two and here's three and here's four
11:52four in this next stitch again four double crochets one and two
12:01three and four
12:07all right and you're going to do that all the way around and as you work you'll see that you're
12:14because
12:14of all these increases and we're all these we're jam packing these double crochets here so your puff
12:23i mean your poof sorry will naturally take form and it'll start curving
12:29and um as you work don't be afraid of it curling because that's what you want it to do
12:34um just make sure you're following the line of stitches that you made in round two okay
12:42so i'm gonna um cut back to this video after i finish round three so i don't bore you to
12:49death as
12:50you watch me do that and just as a reminder as you finish round three you're going to join with
12:58a slip
12:59stitch to the top of the chain three that you started with all right
13:15all right so um that was about 20 let me see 22 minutes um of crochet finishing that um round
13:27three
13:27and as you can see your poof will kind of naturally take that um curviness see how all the
13:37different layers are just curling together um so there you have it that's how you make a little bath
13:46poof and what's great is that it really doesn't take that long to make at all and you can make
13:52them
13:52in so many different colors and they make lovely little gifts um as a spa set too so if you'd
14:00like
14:00to check out some other items to add to like a spa set gift feel free to check out my
14:05other video
14:06tutorials for face scrubbies um soap saver pouches and also a washcloth all right so thank you very much
14:15and um hope you have a fun time crocheting bye now
