00:00Yeah, he just wasn't on my list of Browns culprits in that game.
00:05And I know normally the quarterback is always...
00:07I never said they lost him because of him.
00:08Yeah, no, you didn't.
00:10I was more positive on his performance than I think you were,
00:13but you never were like, he was a disaster or anything like that.
00:16I saw people acting like he was a terrible quarterback in that game.
00:21Well, Nick said the magic's over.
00:23Well, okay.
00:24Nick Padone, who was with me, not Nick Wilson.
00:26Yeah, well, okay, he did bring him from behind.
00:31Now you could say, well, why are they behind all the time?
00:33You know, is that on Watson?
00:35But I could also make the argument there's a bunch of quarterbacks.
00:37I literally think they would be 0-5 with a bunch of quarterbacks this year.
00:42That's how much he's bailed out the lack of a running game, the offensive line.
00:46And the defense has been pretty good.
00:48You can't expect a defense to just shut down teams.
00:53What did they end up losing in that game?
00:5717-12?
00:58They give up 17 points.
00:59And think about how a botched snap.
01:02One of those started at 22.
01:04Right.
01:04That's what I'm saying.
01:05So, overall, yeah, teams can, I think, run the football against us a little bit.
01:09I think we were very fortunate that Tampa Bay didn't run the football more against us,
01:14or that could have been a loss.
01:16They got pass-happy.
01:17And so, good luck.
01:18Good luck for teams that want to be pass-happy against us,
01:20no matter what our defensive line is.
01:21But what I'm saying is, overall, I went back and watched, and even, now, keep in mind,
01:26it was a weird way to watch the Browns.
01:27I was in Chicago and did not watch the game until it was over.
01:31So, I saw the tweets, and I'm like, oh, boy, the way people are talking about Deshaun
01:35Watts' performance is going to be ugly.
01:37Do I even want to watch it?
01:38And then I watched it.
01:39And, you know, he started out like, I don't know, it was like 11 of his first 17,
01:44and five of them, five of the misses were all easily catchable balls.
01:49And if we had, like, Garrett Wilson, or even KC, you know, after the dirty hit, like...
01:54You thought it was a dirty hit?
01:55Yeah.
01:55Okay, just make it sure.
01:56Yeah, pretty dirty.
01:56I wasn't, like, throw him out of the league, but there is a preponderance of evidence here
02:00when it comes to Minka over time.
02:03Like, I think it was a bang-bang, but also on the dirty side.
02:05So, I know that sounds like I'm covering all my bases, but either way, like,
02:10had they have just had better wide receiver play, I mean, Watson was putting it on...
02:14He gave guys in that...
02:15I don't want to call it a monsoon.
02:18It did get really bad in the fourth.
02:20If I say a bond holds onto the football, you're looking at about 200 yards.
02:23I mean, good God almighty.
02:25Yeah, and I did see the other angle of the bond in the end zone.
02:27It wasn't as easy as I thought it was at first, but I still think better wide receivers
02:31track that ball down and make the catch.
02:33And again, in the rain, I think all things considered, under duress, having free runners.
02:39Now, we can go back, and it was good to hear Coach Riz talk about this, and I do want
02:44to
02:44hear more coaches talk about what the responsibilities are of Deshaun at the line of scrimmage, because
02:50you do think a 10-year vet should be able to navigate odd fronts and the deception that
02:56defenses use.
02:57But I think right now, in the NFL, defenses, and you go back to Seattle winning the Super
03:02Bowl last year, defenses are just fooling offenses.
03:06It has been hard for even the best quarterbacks in this league to deal with the exotic fronts
03:13and blitzes and all that.
03:15With that said, I think if you combine the rain, being on the road, you know, the guys that...
03:24The defense, the defensive lines that were coming after him, it seemed like every play,
03:29the pressure rate, I actually thought Watson was decent.
03:32I didn't think he was good.
03:33I'm not going to say good.
03:34But if guys just hold on to the ball, you would have said it was good.
03:38Well, again...
03:38Like, it's as simple as that.
03:39If those drops are all catches, you wouldn't...
03:43Nobody would have said Watson was not good.
03:44That's fair.
03:45Okay, that is...
03:46So if that's the difference, then you have to rethink the way you're talking about it.
03:49You know, I think that this is weird.
03:51I think there's been a lot of people who've gotten very defensive over Deshaun Watson over
03:54the last 48 hours, okay?
03:57And at no point...
03:59Everybody's trying to find where everybody stands on this.
04:01Yeah, I thought that he was a guy who probably should have been out of the league last year
04:05after everything that had happened.
04:07And he was the guy that, again, if Todd Munkin wanted to make him the starter, then damn it,
04:11it's Todd's team.
04:12And again, nobody's saying now that it was Jimmy Haslam who made the call, which is interesting.
04:16When you win three in a row, those conversations tend to go away, don't they?
04:20But my point of him is, is that the way you'll be successful, or the way you can maximize
04:26the success that you have, is that he tries to find himself in 2026.
04:30Not going back to Houston.
04:32Them days are done.
04:33So what makes him effective now?
04:35Well, it's also how well he can play and how well the guys can play around him.
04:39I think we do have a Quinchon Judkins issue, all right?
04:42I do think we have ourselves an offensive line issue running the football.
04:46Okay?
04:47I think that those two things, when you don't have a lot of greatness around you,
04:52like your wide receivers, you got two wide receivers and one tight end that I know that
04:57he hasn't necessarily been getting a lot so far this year.
05:01But I'm very excited about their futures.
05:05Everybody's excited about Denzel Boston and Concepcion and Harold Fannin Jr.
05:10But there's a lot of questions elsewhere.
05:12And yeah, Spencer Fano, we're excited about his future.
05:15And Austin Barber, we're excited.
05:16They're still rookies, all right?
05:18And you have Elton Jenkins there at the center, but you got a lot of question marks there around
05:22those guys.
05:23And so it's going to take another year.
05:24Well, I don't know if Deshaun has another year.
05:26I don't know if Deshaun has another couple of years.
05:28Probably not.
05:28So there's going to be games where I think that we're going to be frustrated, and I'm
05:32not going to sit there and go, he was the net reason that they lost the game.
05:35No, I don't think he's been a net negative for this football team.
05:38It's just he's not capable to me of doing what's necessary to go, hey, I'm putting every
05:45one of you in the sack and I'm dragging you up the hill and we're going to win this football
05:49game.
05:49I don't think he's that guy anymore, and I don't think that that's such a nasty thing
05:53to say about him, considering he was a total mess two years ago, two years ago, when he
05:58was last playing in the NFL.
06:00When he was throwing ground balls.
06:01Exactly.
06:01He's been.
06:03Exactly.
06:03And I know it sounds weird to say in a game he was 15 to 33, but I think those
06:07numbers
06:08do not match what I saw.
06:09I thought he was putting the ball on guys' hands and giving them a chance to make grabs.
06:13Like I said, if they would have, I tweeted this, if they would have had Garrett Wilson in
06:17that game, they would have won.
06:19They would have won.
06:19I think you're right.
06:20I actually think they might have won by a couple of scores.
06:22Well, I don't know about a couple of scores, but I think you're right, because it still
06:25doesn't take away some of the gaffes.
06:26They had four drives that ended in just simple drops.
06:29Yes.
06:30So when that happens, that's why the numbers, like 155, not only would you have the yardage
06:36from those completions, but you would have had another series of downs, another series
06:40of downs.
06:40I can buy that.
06:41But my issue is, is I think people are stuck in this weird spot, and I think they should have
06:46prepared for it, because it's just never this easy.
06:47Either A, he's terrible, and you're getting ready for a quarterback in the 2027 draft,
06:53or B, he's really, really good, and then we could try to hold on to him, and then away
06:57we go, and we can finally put this thing together.
06:59I don't think that either one is the truth.
07:02I think he could, honestly, I could see them being around 500, maybe just under, and him
07:08still giving them the best chance to play or to win, and they just keep starting Deshaun
07:12Watson this year.
07:13I think I'd say over the course of the year now, when you throw this game in, I think
07:16he's been around, you know, average to, but average NFL quarterback played this year
07:22is actually probably slightly above average on a curve.
07:24Yes.
07:25It has been, believe it or not.
07:27So it is weird.
07:28I think there's a lot of people that, because he's not in our future, they are docking him
07:33more points on a play-to-play basis.
07:35You are right.
07:36If you were a rookie, guys, if you were a rookie and had these come-from-behind wins,
07:40and then had another incredible touchdown throw on the run in those conditions, this whole
07:47town would be going, you'd think he was Caleb Williams.
07:49Yeah, we'd be saying that was the breaks.
07:50Honestly, because Caleb Williams, you know, his completion percentage was terrible last
07:54year, but he had that dynamic of making plays and doing it on the run and ducking out of
07:59would-be sacks.
08:00Guys, he was sacked eight times.
08:02It could have been 12.
08:04Like, he got out of so many precarious situations.
08:09Coming up at 720, do fans owe Jose Ramirez an apology after what they've seen over these
08:14last four games?
08:15And we're doing it, because you don't just do it once and then put it away.
08:19It's not just something that exists to exist.
08:21There's a reason for it.
08:23Seven in heaven, five minutes away.
08:25Yeah, I still got him in there, but where?
08:27It's coming up in five on the fan.
