00:00I feel like it's always nice to have this conversation after a win as opposed to a loss,
00:06but the one thing people are asking me, they're not really asking me, hey, do you think Deshaun's
00:09good?
00:09Like most everybody has made up their mind on that.
00:12There's always hope that, hey, maybe Top Monkey can coach him up.
00:15The other one is quit, Sean, especially when Travion Henderson, who's had his struggles
00:21in New England, but he had another game-breaking run.
00:24He had a 39-yard run this past week for a touchdown.
00:30And he's like, they even asked Travion this week, like, hey, you have a lot of one-yard
00:33runs.
00:34Like, he was being asked, because he had the big run.
00:37And they're like, why can't all the runs be big runs?
00:39And so they were going after the media over there.
00:42But I do know the quit, Sean, so far through 16 games, he's right there with Trent Richardson.
00:49Yards per carry, Trent's got him edged in a Cleveland uniform.
00:52Well, you really find a way to crystallize it, don't you?
00:54And Trent got into the end zone more.
00:56But you know, like, there's certain things that you say, and then I'll be like,
01:00hearing things, and people will go, you know, he's got just as many yards as Trent and Rich.
01:04Is it the average?
01:04Yeah, the average.
01:05And I know.
01:06They're going to go, you know, he's averaging the same amount as Trent and Rich.
01:08And I'm going to go, yeah, they were listening to this show.
01:10Thanks a lot, because Lyman just told them.
01:11Yeah, and the one thing for Judkins is now they have more advanced numbers than when Trent
01:18played about the opportunities.
01:22So, essentially, last year, you know, it was noted.
01:26Nobody got hit behind the line of scrimmage more than quit Sean Judkins in a running game.
01:29So, you file that away and go, offensive line, right?
01:33Yeah.
01:34And, you know, Judkins isn't Barry Sanders.
01:36Like, he's not going to get the ball, have five guys hounding him behind the line of scrimmage,
01:40and then he's going to run away from him for a spectacular 80-yard touchdown.
01:43Not really his game.
01:45You wouldn't want that to be his game, because what?
01:47That's not really sustainable.
01:48You can't really devise an offense over be Barry Sanders when they're all getting you
01:52behind the line of scrimmage.
01:53So, I haven't called quit Sean a bust or anything like that.
01:58His opportunities have been tough.
01:59Well, when you mention him in the same sentence as Trent Richardson, what are you trying to say?
02:02Now, I'm not trying to be so defensive of him, okay?
02:05I'm hopeful.
02:06He's a Buckeye.
02:07I go back to last year.
02:08I go back to last year and what Coach Lance said.
02:11All right?
02:11Now, one game where you had to respect the talent of Deshaun Watson doesn't change everything.
02:21I got to wonder.
02:23There's three things, and I'm more willing to believe the first two.
02:28Is it an offensive line situation?
02:30Some of your guys in the offensive line have been good.
02:33Titus Howard, not so much.
02:35I got to ask Brian Baldinger about that at 720.
02:38We already had Xavier P and a bunch of other people going, Ken, you're finally talking about Titus Howard.
02:42I was like, well, it's only been two weeks for crying out loud.
02:45All right, is it an offensive line issue?
02:47Because your quarterback's led your team in rushing the last two years, or the last two weeks.
02:52Two, is it an injury issue?
02:54He's coming back from a serious injury.
02:56Does it take a little bit of time?
02:58I understand there's no ligament things.
03:00It was a break.
03:01A little gross, but still.
03:03Two, or three, the one I least want to talk about or kick around, is that he's just not good?
03:11Is he just not a second-round quality running back?
03:14Yeah, I'm not ready to say that at all.
03:17Or, you know what?
03:18Four, are we two?
03:19No, I can't even say that.
03:20I mean, the average 1.8 yard per carry.
03:22So there's no D in there.
03:23Because I was going to say, are we comparing him to Nick Chubb like we did with other people
03:27and other great players that we've seen?
03:28And is it unfair?
03:30It's 1.8 yards a carry on Sunday against Tampa Bay.
03:34I can't.
03:34No.
03:35And whoever was going to come.
03:36That's on him.
03:36That's on him or the bronze.
03:38That's not anything to do with Nick Chubb.
03:39It's the tough part of where Judkins was drafted.
03:41Because they were going to draw those comparisons, you know, immediately to Nick Chubb.
03:45Well, not just between him and Nick Chubb, but between him and Trevion Henderson,
03:49who was drafted a little bit after.
03:50Yeah, right.
03:50So when that happened, like the night of the draft, when that happened, day two of the draft,
03:53when that happened, I go, oh boy, this is going to be a fun year.
03:56Because one team, now we didn't know that the Patriots were going to go on to the Super Bowl
04:00and play in the Super Bowl, but we thought that they were going to be a lot better.
04:03But either way, I'm trying to make a short story longer.
04:06The advance numbers on Trevion aren't good.
04:07So what are your, okay, but what, well, it's still, if they're both garbage,
04:12then neither of us end up having anything good.
04:14So we can make comparisons all we want, but if they're both not that great, then fine.
04:18Like if you're still just giving me big pop plays or anything like that,
04:22like it's great that you can take off on long runs.
04:24Maybe we can just have you return kicks because I need somebody to get me four yards at a carry.
04:29And that's something that Nick, who is a legend, could always just do.
04:33He'd fall forward and give you four yards.
04:35So it was always, you're going to come out with way more positive than negative.
04:39He very rarely, if ever, got tackled for a loss with the Cleveland Browns.
04:43He was just a special running back.
04:45He always knew how to get back to that line of scrimmage or fall forward.
04:48And Judkins doesn't necessarily have that inherent ability to then carry a pile and do all those things.
04:56So when he is hit behind the line of scrimmage, you're just losing yards.
04:59I mean, that unfortunately, you don't want running backs to have to have that skill.
05:03Do you think we have a problem with Quinn, Sean?
05:05Do you think we have a problem with Quinn, Sean?
05:06I think unfortunately through, you know, basically one full season of games is what we've seen out of Judkins.
05:13He's, he's not, he certainly doesn't look like a star.
05:17But would he have been able to look like a star had they have had one of the better offensive
05:22lines in the league?
05:22Well, I guess you'd say if they had one of the better offensive lines in the league, anybody could run
05:26the ball behind that, right?
05:27You remember when they were going with Nick Chubb, we would put Hunter, who was, God, who was D, help
05:34me out.
05:35Who was the other running back?
05:36We had four running backs that year.
05:37Kareem Hunt?
05:38Anybody.
05:39No, we, it starts with a D.
05:41I can't remember his name.
05:41Oh, Deontay Johnson.
05:43No.
05:43Dearness Johnson.
05:44No, Dearness Johnson.
05:45Dearness Johnson was a totally different conversation.
05:47Do you remember Dearness Johnson?
05:48Dearness Johnson.
05:48When we had our offensive line humming, anybody could have ran the football at that point.
05:53Yes.
05:53Right now, could anybody run the football behind this line?
05:57I don't know.
05:59The last two years.
06:00Derrick Henry?
06:01Yeah, maybe that's a different one.
06:03Well, gracefully, not Alvin Kamara.
06:07I'm thinking old guys.
06:11I don't know, man.
06:12It's only been two weeks of the new offensive line.
06:16I just got to know if it's an offensive line issue that we got to get fixed.
06:20George Warhop has to get fixed, or if this is a Quinchon Judkins issue.
06:25Like, I don't know yet.
06:26I really don't.
06:28So, I don't want to call him a bust and be unprofessional about it or unreasonable with him.
06:34He definitely hasn't looked like one of the great draft picks right now so far.
06:40No.
06:41I just don't think it's all on him.
06:42That's all I'm saying.
06:43Well, again.
06:43I'm not willing to rule him out quite yet.
06:46He came into the league, unfortunately.
06:49I just need him to be serviceable.
06:50You didn't have a real training camp that first year.
06:52I understand, but that's all I need him to do is be serviceable.
06:55Well, again, the no training camp thing, that's not a football issue, okay?
07:02That's still an issue.
07:04Go back to what I just said.
07:06I just need him to be serviceable.
07:07Because I don't want to have...
07:08Like, if it's undeniable and you get a guy in the second round that ends up being that good,
07:12then you just got to go...
07:13Do we have a Quinchon Judkins problem?
07:152-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
07:17I might as well throw it out there.
07:18We got Baldy coming up at 7-20.
07:19I'll ask him about it coming up at 7-22, okay?
07:23But, Limey, you brought it up during the break.
07:26I'll take a right turn.
07:27I'll just ask it now if we have a Quinchon Judkins problem.
07:29All I need him to be is serviceable.
07:31And I still don't know whether or not it's an offensive line.
07:34It's hard for me to make an argument when I just don't know.
07:36I don't know.
07:37I've watched the game over four times now, and I don't know.
07:40I really...
07:40I've been paying attention to Mason Graham.
07:41I've been paying attention to Fano.
07:43I've been paying attention to the offensive line.
07:45I've been paying attention to the linebackers.
07:48That's who I've been watching this whole time.
07:50Jared Verse.
07:51I have not really paid that close attention to Quinchon Judkins.
07:55Maybe that's my fault on it to not be able to give you an answer.
07:57I don't know, though.
07:58When I say I need him to be serviceable,
08:00maybe whoever they get in the second round next year would be undeniable.
08:03But I just would like one more year of serviceable play before it's like,
08:08hey, we can't deny this guy.
08:09We've got to take this guy, and we've got to move on from the other one.
08:12I know you're not, but I think that the conversation is,
08:15do we have a problem with him?
08:17Because if he can't carry the ball, or if, excuse me,
08:20if he can't find the right hole, if he can't pick up these numbers,
08:24we're going to lose some games that we should win.
08:27If we play like we did on Sunday,
08:30we're going to lose games that we should win
08:32because we're not able to salt it away.
08:34The whole argument about Nick Chubb being in the fourth quarter,
08:38I can't help but do it.
08:39I'm sorry, guilty as charged.
08:41The whole argument about him not being in the fourth quarter,
08:43it's like, hey, man, we're in a position to salt this away.
08:46Get him in.
08:47Let's get first downs.
08:48And it's like, well, we'll use Kareem Hunt.
08:49We don't want to run down Nick.
08:50We don't want to do all those things.
08:51And we pull our hair out over it.
08:52It's like, well, you only have so many carries.
08:54You might as well use them.
08:55There was all those fights.
08:57Here, you're going to find yourself in third and seven all of a sudden.
09:00It's like, well, you can't just run the ball with Quinchon Juckins.
09:02You can't just run the –
09:03Dylan Sampson's not there, unfortunately.
09:04You can't just run the ball with anybody else.
09:06You're in a third and seven, you've got to throw.
09:07And so that takes time.
09:09That gives up a timeout on their end.
09:12Like, there's so many things that happen in-game managing
09:15that Quinchon Juckins could help out with.
09:17Because if it's third and two, I can do some different things.
09:20If it's third and one, I can do some different things.
09:22Or if they just get a first down on second and four
09:25because they're able to run the football, then that's even better.
09:28So I got issues here.
09:30I just don't know, Anthony.
09:33But 1.8 yards of carry back on Sunday in the second week in a row,
09:38Deshaun Watson, a quarterback who in week one played like a deer in headlights.
09:44In week two, yes, he was more confident on Sunday.
09:47But what's the whole thing?
09:48Because it's not just about, well, is he afraid to throw the football?
09:51Is he afraid to play the position?
09:53Is he broken?
09:54All those things we've mentioned with Deshaun.
09:56It's also, well, can you run him as much?
09:58Because he's been injured how many times in a row over the last how many years?
10:01He lost an entire year last year.
10:05Arguably, he might have been able to go out there and do it at the end of the year
10:07if you really needed him to, but that wasn't going to happen.
10:10But I do believe that you can't just sit there and run Deshaun Watson the whole time.
10:15You're going to have to figure something out.
10:17And so I need to know from Brian Bollinger coming up at 722
10:20whether or not this is an offensive line situation
10:22or whether or not this is more of a Quinchon Judkins situation.
10:251.8 is a terrible number.
10:27And you just mentioned the name that nobody else wants to mention.
10:31Where we did get is one good year.
10:33Yeah, Trent Richards.
10:34But you mentioned that name.
10:36That's a four-letter word for a lot of fans out there.
