00:00All right, I'll win as ugly as possible.
00:02I don't need to win pretty.
00:05Like, Sunday, if you were to break it down and sit there and all these other things,
00:08like, yeah, it's not a pretty win.
00:11It's better.
00:11It's better.
00:13An ugly win is much better than an ugly loss.
00:15I wonder what Baltimore was thinking about it.
00:16Like, Baltimore is a team.
00:18Like, yeah.
00:19And they probably licked their wounds a little bit and go, eh, it wasn't Lamar.
00:23Four and two is four and two.
00:24You're fine.
00:25Like, their history recently is certainly a lot different than ours.
00:31Well, we both fired coaches last year.
00:32But their history is a lot.
00:35Their standard right now with where their franchise is a lot different than ours.
00:38I just don't feel that we are in a position yet of how they win.
00:43If you make the playoffs this year and then we want to start talking about
00:48how you compare to some of the other teams in the NFL when it comes to the big dogs,
00:53yeah, because, like, the Bills, they compare how they win compared to other teams.
00:59Kansas City, Jacksonville, et cetera.
01:03I don't think we're there.
01:05I'm just win.
01:06It is results-based, everything.
01:09And there are people, I'm telling you, Tone, they hear that,
01:11and they're fans of a backup quarterback for us, and they can't stand it.
01:16And I'm like, guys, results are results.
01:18One of the arguments that we made for Shador Sanders, the backup, is that he was 5-2.
01:25Was that the record?
01:26Even though, yeah.
01:27No, it wasn't.
01:28They won five games.
01:29He was 3-4.
01:30He had a better record than anybody else, right?
01:33Wasn't that what it was?
01:34Mm-hmm.
01:35Had to come from behind win against, what, Cincinnati?
01:38Yes, that was one of the arguments that we said for him, playing winning football.
01:44Deshaun Watson is not playing losing football.
01:48And, yeah, against some of these teams, he might get figured out.
01:51They might get figured out.
01:52But what Zach says, when he goes, hey, they got a lot of bad quarterbacks on their roster,
01:57excuse me, when they play against bad quarterbacks, they're always going to have a chance,
02:01and their schedule has a lot of bad quarterbacks on it.
02:03There's a lot of bad quarterbacks in the league starting right now.
02:05There's a lot of guys that people do not have a lot of faith in.
02:07And Deshaun Watson is one of them.
02:10I don't think he's that bad.
02:11Certainly not in the fourth quarter, he's not that bad.
02:14But I was in the stadium on Sunday.
02:16I told you, Jonah was a little bit, like, confused about the booing.
02:21And to the point where he thought that that's what you're supposed to do when they come off the field.
02:25And I go, no, no, no, no, no, no.
02:26They're pros.
02:27You boo pros when they don't do well.
02:29I go, you don't boo your brother.
02:30You don't boo the high school teams.
02:32But you're going to boo the pros if they don't do well.
02:35And yet they're 3-0 at home.
02:37They are.
02:37But the first three quarters of it, really the first two quarters of it, because they really got things together
02:41in the second half.
02:42But in the first couple of quarters, things were not well.
02:46And I don't think we're out of the woods with Deshaun Watson whatsoever.
02:50But I just don't care right now.
02:53It is all results-based.
02:55And, yes, it is that thin of a margin where Sunday I'm talking to fans.
03:01And they're asking me about, like, hey, if we lose this game.
03:04I go, yeah, we're going to get calls over Shador.
03:06I go, they're not going to switch him out yet.
03:09But we will get calls.
03:10And then if they go to Tennessee and they lose that game and they're 3-4, like, yeah, it's going
03:15to be time to have that conversation.
03:17Well, they're 4-2.
03:18So you keep your head above water.
03:21It's not time to have that conversation.
03:23I'm just, I'm not going back.
03:25And I, again, ownership is this way.
03:27They don't want to make the same mistake.
03:29Now, the guy they switched out was a total, complete idiot, immature moron who still makes money off him being
03:38an immature moron.
03:39That was then.
03:41Shador, I don't think, is anywhere near that.
03:44He's not.
03:45So I could switch to Shador and have a lot more faith than I did over the other idiot.
03:52Well, I was younger and I was stupider then, so I should have had way less faith than the other
03:56idiot from way back when.
03:57I just don't want to make the same mistake.
03:59You're over 500.
04:01Things are working.
04:02They're working as best they can right now.
04:05They seem to have some faith and some work together.
04:08Okay, let's see where it goes.
04:10And if it goes to a bad place, you find yourself under 500 and you're losing to teams and maybe
04:14you shouldn't.
04:14Like Tennessee, like probably the Saints.
04:18I mean, you got a tough stretch here.
04:19Like, yeah, then we're going to have a different conversation.
04:22But I'm just not in a place where how they win affects my Monday morning.
04:29Oh, there's no way you can look at a team this year with the low expectations and their low total
04:35to start the year.
04:36They're one away from where I thought they'd be after week one.
04:38And I said four wins for the year.
04:39They got four wins.
04:39There's no way you have the right as a Browns fan to demand better aesthetics from the football team.
04:46When they're one of the youngest teams in football, and we thought one of the worst quarterback rooms going into
04:50the season.
04:51The disagreement with you is like, well, if they play like this, if they had to play Kansas City in
04:54the playoffs, if they had to play Buffalo in the playoffs, yeah, they'd probably get boat raced by those teams.
04:57I would anticipate that.
04:58Or they start defense keeping it a game for the first half.
05:01You got to remember, at first, it wasn't even a goal.
05:05It was just an expectation that we were going to have to go after one of the top quarterbacks in
05:09this draft.
05:10Then it became a goal to win some football games and make it interesting.
05:14Now it's a goal at four and two.
05:16You're six weeks into the season.
05:17Your goal is to try to make a run at the playoffs.
05:20That's where it's at.
05:21And to me, that's where it stays.
05:23If they made the playoffs this year, Todd Munkin is a coach of the year candidate, maybe coach of the
05:29year, which might be a death sentence compared to a coach of the years over the last how many years.
05:33I mean, good guy.
05:34Kenny Atkinson has the fifth best odds to get fired, be the first coach fired this year.
05:38And people are saying Steven Vogt could just go where?
05:41Seattle.
05:41Okay.
05:42Better than hell.
05:43Better than straight to hell.
05:45I'll give him that.
05:46So maybe it's not the best thing if he ends up being coach of the year.
05:49Maybe we want to give that to somebody else.
05:50But you've done a remarkable job.
05:53And I'm not going to argue.
05:56I think maybe next year is the year where we start to go, okay, how do you compare to these
06:01top teams?
06:02Because now you've been there.
06:03Now our expectation is to get back there and then to build upon that.
06:07So that's where that would be.
06:09But this year, no.
06:10I'm not going to sit there and go, well, I watched the Chiefs earlier on Thursday night and I watched
06:14the Browns and we're just not competitive against the Chiefs.
06:17Well, I don't see the Chiefs on the schedule.
06:19So I can only go by what I play against and I'm only going to go with where the Browns
06:23are.
06:24And as of right now, I've got a team that is one of the top teams in the AFC North,
06:28which is historically a tougher division.
06:30I know it's weighing last year, but it's historically a tougher division or one of the toughest divisions in football.
06:36And I've got a team that has a look at the playoffs right now.
06:40I'm in no position, and I don't think we are in any position, as you said, to argue over the
06:45aesthetics of it.
06:46No, you do want to see the offense get better over time.
06:49And look, if they just don't have a running game all year, you know, we're going to be pointing a
06:53lot of fingers at that because that's something that absolutely has to get fixed.
06:56Because the whole argument, and I've heard it from both sides, the whole argument is what?
07:00The whole argument is, well, that's not going to work later on.
07:03Yeah, but I didn't expect to be up against Buffalo, Jacksonville, et cetera, later on.
07:09We didn't think there'd be a later on.
07:10Well, that's not winning football, but they're winning.
07:13So you can't, well, we win by more with somebody, we're winning.
07:17And then show me that.
07:18We're beating NFL football teams.
07:19Under that type of thinking, just show me how many teams are playing winning football then in the NFL.
07:26Judging by this schedule that I'm looking at, not too terribly many.
07:29By the way, Kansas City is not on the schedule good.
07:31Wanted to make sure.
07:32Houston is.
07:33Houston is.
07:34And they're starting to play winning football.
07:36Atlanta's on the schedule December 13th.
07:38I cannot wait for that game.
07:40You can go to that game.
07:41I got to go to something, right?
07:44We'll do that game together.
07:45You want to come?
07:45Go to a game?
07:46You want to go to a game?
07:47When is it?
07:49December 13th.
07:51Man.
07:52Yeah, he's figuring something out that he's got to do.
07:55What?
07:56Let me.
07:57Well.
07:58Does Caden have clog dancing now or something?
08:00No, he'll be busy defending titles.
08:03Oh, here we go.
08:04Here we go.
08:04Come on.
08:05Let's go.
08:06Let's hear it.
08:06Let's hear it.
08:07We'll be at the Greensboro Coliseum this weekend.
08:09Is that this weekend?
08:11It is.
08:11Guys, he's literally wrestling at the Greensboro Coliseum.
08:13That's not a gang.
08:16He's wrestling for a title at the same place where Ric Flair was crowned a world champion.
08:19Harley Race is bringing him out.
08:21It's going to be.
08:21Oh, my God.
08:22Well, I'll tell you what.
08:23If Harley Race showed up and go, what the hell are you doing here?
08:25You've been dead for years, brother.
08:27Coming up at 9 o'clock, Anthony Kastervitz, reporter, columnist, MLB.com.
08:31The future of Tanner Bybee, the future of Steven Vogt.
08:35Yes, that is a question, considering rumors that were spread during the postseason.
08:39Five minutes away, the neutral zone with Rat Boy and the Hog, the week six edition on the fan.
