00:00I do not believe they got exposed yesterday.
00:02I'm seeing a lot of that.
00:03I believe they were exposed well before that.
00:06Oh, I really do.
00:07I don't think they've done anything with smoke and mirrors.
00:11I'm sorry, I really don't.
00:14Like, when you look at Minnesota, Minnesota's, what, 5-0 going into yesterday or 6-0 going into yesterday.
00:20They did lose yesterday, right? That got finished okay. I wanted to make sure.
00:23Like, it's like, well, their defense has been so good, their offense isn't very good.
00:27They've won some games from behind. They were able to do it.
00:30I think they only scored nine touchdowns going into yesterday, which was the same as the 0-6 Chargers on
00:35offense.
00:36Like, that's really bad offensively.
00:39Like, at some point, yeah, the regression is there.
00:41But as far as exposed, I don't see them being exposed.
00:45I think they are who they are.
00:46And we've been telling you who they are.
00:48I've been telling you who I think they are for a long period of time.
00:52I think they're exposed to who they are.
00:53They are a tough, they are culturally, well, yesterday didn't show a lot of tough, well, I don't know.
00:59They lost their mind, but they showed not a lot of emotional maturity.
01:05Still can be tough, but they weren't very tough emotionally yesterday.
01:11Yeah, because they're young.
01:12They're one of the youngest teams in the NFL.
01:14Yeah, because they're young.
01:15Their leaders are still in their second year in the NFL.
01:17So, yeah, because we still, honestly, we don't know if we're out of the woods with a quarterback.
01:23We don't know if we're out of the woods on needing a quarterback in the future.
01:26We have a lot of positions that are kind of up for grabs.
01:29We have a lot of spots that we don't have a ton of confidence in.
01:32I mean, let's be honest here.
01:34Offensive line.
01:35Yesterday, yeah, you can highlight no confidence in the offensive line after eight sacks,
01:40but I still think it was a little bit wishy-washy.
01:42On the other side of it, Quinn Sean Judkins had a great game against Tennessee.
01:47Didn't amount to anything yesterday.
01:49Was anybody saying we were all fixed and everything was hunky-dory?
01:52No.
01:52So, as far as being exposed, we're eight games into this thing.
01:58I think they are who they are.
01:59All they are is I think they can be a tough out to good football teams,
02:02and I think they can beat bad football teams.
02:05And that's still a hell of a lot better than I thought they were going to be at the beginning
02:07of this year.
02:08So, yeah, it sucks to lose to Pittsburgh,
02:11but I don't need to go saying things I don't mean just because I'm mad that they lost to Pittsburgh
02:15because I'm disappointed, but I'm really not that mad.
02:17I got another game I got coming up, and we're still in a position to compete.
02:21So, this is four games out of eight where Munkin's offense has scored 13 or less points.
02:26Remember, with Stefanski, that magic number was 16.
02:29Yeah, there's a lot.
02:30So, everybody after last week was, and some people even in my mentions say,
02:36how do you guys still even support Stefanski?
02:39It's so clear that Munkin is a 10 times better coach than Stefanski.
02:41And I'm like, well, it's just the start of one, and you saw the end of the other.
02:46It always, the start of the next one is going to look better.
02:49Yeah.
02:50You know, almost 95% of the time, it's going to look better than how the other thing ends.
02:54So, I don't know if that's how you want to decipher it.
02:57But, I do think Todd is going to have some major issues here being able to protect.
03:04Right now, it's Deshaun Watson, but if this is what it is, like, you know,
03:09if they can't protect a quarterback, then, you know, how many hits is he going to take?
03:15How long is he even going to last?
03:16No, that's why you're not giving up Shidor Sanders all too soon.
03:19That's why you're not giving up Dylan Gabriel all too soon.
03:21I'm not sure how they're going to work out their quarterback room or anything like that.
03:25But, I mean, you're taking a lot of hits, and they were able to get home with four guys.
03:29And it's one of the things that I guess, if you want to say exposure,
03:32but I don't think that they were exposed.
03:33Does anybody have a lot of faith that they were really good against the run this season?
03:37No, not particularly.
03:39You have been able to get to the quarterback because your secondary has played,
03:42I think, a lot better than I thought they were going to play, got to tell you.
03:45Because I knew I could count on Denzel Ward.
03:50Tyson Campbell and the defense changing a little bit,
03:53getting a little less out of man and being maybe a little bit more zone heavy.
03:57No offense to Tyson Campbell.
03:58I go, well, you know, this was the type of defense that we traded for him for.
04:02Are we going to go that heavy zone, and is that going to put him at a disadvantage then?
04:06Like, those were fears that I think have been calm.
04:08Like, yeah, there's good football players there, but a lot of this is reasonable.
04:12Your good football players are still really young.
04:14Now, I've got to get it figured out across the offensive line
04:16because some of the guys we're talking about here,
04:18like I think Spencer Fano will have much better days than what he had yesterday.
04:21And one bad game ain't going to make me all of a sudden give up on Austin Barber
04:25and think that he sucks and Andrew Barry should get fired.
04:27That's not it.
04:28I have more faith that they're going to have better days,
04:30but, you know, Zion Johnson had a rough one yesterday.
04:33Your veterans had rough ones yesterday.
04:35And are they going to be able to look at tape
04:37and get back with their feet together and be able to move together,
04:41or are we going to continue to have more of these problems?
04:43See, New Orleans is going to see what they did with four guys,
04:46and they're going to try to emulate it.
04:47Now, their defense is not Pittsburgh's defense.
04:51So maybe they'll bring more.
04:53I'm not sure.
04:55But they'll probably try to emulate a lot of the stuff that they did.
04:57They're just not anywhere near as good as Pittsburgh's defense.
05:00So naturally, you should be a little bit better going into next week.
05:03All right, we'll see where it goes.
05:05But I think the exposure, I'm sorry,
05:08I think they were exposed a long time ago,
05:09and they still just won a few football games still.
05:12Well, and that was a big part of why Watson was being celebrated to some extent
05:17was that we know the team has these limitations,
05:20but when you have a quarterback that's able to piece together
05:24late-game heroics in close games,
05:28like that is why people had a reason to believe.
05:30The issue is then you have games like yesterday
05:32where you're never even really in.
05:34Like they came after him so early in that game.
05:38And so that brings me to the next part of this that I'm so curious about.
05:42It seems like people are very split.
05:43No matter what numbers have come out
05:46and some of the grading after the game,
05:48some of the pressure rate stuff,
05:50a lot of that stuff is getting looked at now.
05:52And, you know, you just have to determine who you believe,
05:55who you don't, you know, does it match your eye test?
05:58But all the numbers show that that was not one of the games
06:01that Deshaun Watson was walking into sacks,
06:03that he was generating them.
06:05I didn't think so.
06:05It was that the offensive line and the offensive scheme failed
06:08to protect Watson.
06:10I think that's closer to the truth, certainly.
06:12Why is it that people cannot just say that?
06:14Because they don't like the guy.
06:16And they don't want to see him play.
06:18Because either, okay, hold on.
06:19Let me take it back to a certain degree.
06:21It's not the main reason.
06:22I do think one of the reasons is they don't like the guy.
06:25The other thing is, is I think they really want,
06:27we all want our cake and eat it too.
06:28We want to know, we want to win football games,
06:31and we also want to know whether or not this guy's worth holding on to.
06:34Because you see what's going on in college football.
06:36You see what's going on with your own record where you're 5-3.
06:39And I don't think anybody, you see,
06:40this is where I thought that Jay Crawford said the quiet part out loud
06:42for a lot of people.
06:44Well, I disagree with him.
06:46I'll give credit where it's due.
06:47I think he was just the guy that said what a lot of people were thinking.
06:49He wants to know whether or not this quarterback is worth it.
06:53Because at some point, things will change again.
06:55Even though it's not as much of a quarterback league as it was,
06:58it's still a quarterback league.
06:59You want to have confidence in your quarterback going into each and every week.
07:01And I don't think a lot of people, I think they have hope that the team's going to win.
07:05I don't think they have much faith in Deshaun Watson.
07:07And that is a tremendous difference.
07:09So even the people that are okay with him or even like him,
07:14I think that those folks still want an answer.
07:16Because they don't want to go through the last four years again.
07:18They don't want an extension of the last four years or any of the other stuff.
07:22They really want to know.
07:23So they're trying to do two things at once.
07:24They're trying to figure out their quarterback situation.
07:26They're trying to figure out whether or not we can win these football games.
07:29And I do think to some of them, I disagree with this thought.
07:33I think to some of them, they think it's more important
07:35because they don't think the Browns are really good
07:36or they'll go to the playoffs and just lose in the bye week anyway.
07:39That it's more important to figure out the quarterback situation
07:41than it is to figure out anything else.
07:43Which to me is, again, something I disagree with.
07:46Well, here's the thing.
07:49Obviously, you do need to figure out at some point who the quarterback is next year.
07:53My guess is it's not Deshaun Watson.
07:55And, you know, whether it could be Shador Sanders, I doubt it could be Dylan Gabriel.
08:01But, you know, you saw, like, yesterday, Jacoby Brissett got benched, right?
08:05And Gardner Minshew came in and it was Minshew mania again.
08:08But when you consider the quarterback play around the league,
08:13like, how many quarterbacks would have performed well with the Browns yesterday?
08:17Not very many.
08:18That would have overcome.
08:19A few.
08:19Let's be fair.
08:21That are legit, elite quarterbacks.
08:23Let's be fair, in all of this stuff about Watson and the fourth quarter comebacks,
08:27at no point have I been like, Deshaun Watson is back to the old Deshaun Watson.
08:33He's not.
08:34And even that guy was considered top five.
08:36He couldn't overcome everything with Houston.
08:38I see on his fingers he's got two off the top of his head he can think of.
08:41There are not a ton of quarterbacks that could have overcome no run game
08:45and that pressure rate yesterday.
08:46I think Joe Burrow would have lined up and got beat yesterday with all that.
08:48Yeah, he was the one I was kind of iffy on.
08:50And I would say maybe Lamar, but then Lamar got, you know,
08:54rushed on the first play and broke his thumb yesterday or whatever finger it was.
08:58Josh Allen.
08:59Okay.
09:00Josh Allen is the one that came to my mind.
09:04I don't even know if right now Patrick could.
09:07I think Mahomes would have been able to sniff some things out at the line of scrimmage.
09:11Like, there was one very early on, the play that got him sent to the bench, right,
09:17where they had to make sure he was okay, where he threw that incompletion and got hit.
09:21You actually had six blockers and they came with five.
09:25But your offensive line was confused.
09:27And I'd have to say Deshaun was probably good yesterday.
09:31But when you bring up the quarterback, and it's kind of,
09:34this already goes into what I wanted to talk about 920,
09:37so I might as well get into it now.
09:38Like, yeah, I kind of gave Watson a pass for yesterday
09:40because I really don't expect him to be Hercules.
09:43I don't.
09:44Like, I expect him to be this version of Deshaun Watson.
09:47Hopefully a little bit better as we get into some tighter games,
09:50some bigger games, because I still expect them to play big games.
09:53But I think when you go back to that, you bring up, because you just said it,
09:57you don't expect him to be back next year.
09:59A lot of people don't expect him to be back next year.
10:01But if they keep winning games, you might not have any choice to.
10:05So when they lose these games, they automatically go,
10:08well, what did number four do?
10:09Why are you guys giving number four a pass?
10:11I can only go by what I see.
10:12And I just think there would have been so many quarterbacks in the league
10:15who would have been under siege yesterday
10:17and probably would have had the same type of outcomes that Deshaun Watson had.
10:20And what he had wasn't the worst, other than losing,
10:24wasn't the worst play I've ever seen by him
10:27or by a lot of quarterbacks in a Browns.
